Some of my north side friends claimed this is a great spot on their side of town, so we gathered the squad and came here during peak crawfish season. It's located in a shopping strip with plenty of parking. It has a hole in the wall vibe to it with a spacious interior and a tiny patio out front. Customer service was just ok. We were able to order, eat and leave in a reasonable time. I ordered the Combo #2. This came with 2 lbs crawfish, 1 lb shrimp, 2 potatoes, 2 corns, and sausage. I got it in the extra spicy, garlic butter flavor. I love that it came in individual tin pans. It was sauced evenly and it was easy to dip the foods into the sauce instead of moving everything around in a bag or metal bowl to get some sauce. The crawfish was a good size and hit the spot. The shrimp was a little hard to peel. I've been spoiled by the places that make them easy peel. Because of my slow peeling skills, I got full fast and this platter was a lot of food for me to finish. Luckily my expert friends were able to help me polish it out. Overall, this was a very solid spot on the north side. Because of the distance, I wouldn't drive out of the way for it but would most definitely come back if in the area. read more

The waiter never checked on us for more drinks or more food, I had go back to the front to ask for check. Which then he said oh they'll take care of it. So I wait thinking "they'll take care of it". No one came to check back on us. So I went back up again and asked about my check and everyone stood there looking at me like I was crazy. I felt that this place was pretty above average. They had great customer service. The people here were pretty friendly. It's located in a plaza so it wasn't hard at all to find a parking. Food wise: they had a lot on their menu. Their menu was what brought me here. I tried their whole fried tilapia. I felt that it was cooked perfectly. It wasn't undercooked or overcooked. Seasoning wise, I liked it. I liked how it wasn't too salty. I requested my fish with a side of white rice. There's other options with this fish, as well. For the seafood flavors, we tried all 3 sauces. My favorite really was the lemon pepper sauce. The garlic butter wasn't bad, either. My spice level was a 2, and it was perfect for me since I don't eat spicy foods. A level 2 wasn't too spicy. In all, I didn't have a bad experience here. read more

I am a huge crawfish lover, I am always down to try a new place. Every state and city I visit, I always try their crawfish. This place was located in a decent location with plenty of parking. The service itself is average. Not super attentive, but when you wave them down, they get what you need. I did 2lbs of crawfish garlic butter extra spicy. Flavor was delicious. Boyfriend got the combo which includes 2lbs crawfish, 1lb snow crab, corn, and sausages. We also ordered the fried oyster basket that comes with fried fish and fries. 2 pops with our order as well. Total after tip was $90. I think that is a great deal. I go to one in bellaire that is 5 stars in my book ,but at the moment it's $120 after tip with the same order. Today is the end in June, too late for good crawfish but man o man my last crawfish meal was superb. My friend Dave told me about how the Vietnamese have added their own twist to crawfish. Add lots of butter, garlic, spice and mix with your perfectly cooked mud bugs. These were heaven. In a close second place we're the razor clams with spice, peanuts and fresh herbs. The garlics oysters were also divine. The setting completely fits with the neighborhood. There is a seafood shop next door with an amazing selection of Vietnamese fish, rice, noodle etc etc offerings. I can't wait to come back next season. Food is always really well seasoned! Our favorite is getting the garlic butter + Cajun seasoning and always comes with SO MUCH garlic. There's a lot of butter and seasoning in the pan and we love dipping and smothering our crab legs or crawfish tails in it before we take our bites. Service isn't as good as it used to be but it isn't terrible. It's a little hole in the wall and definitely a good spot to splurge at. read more

I'm very disappointed that I have to let this place go. It was legit my go to spot. I usually order to go but I had family visiting and decided to dine in for the first time and the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I sat down with my family party of seven , 3 adults 4 kids. We ordered 6lbs of crawfish and two lbs of crab legs. The amount of crawfish we received was ridiculous, it only filled up 4 small bowls once. While we we proceeded to eating our crawfish our crab legs were nowhere to found. I waited patiently to explain to our server (because it literally felt like he was avoiding our table and going to others) that I didn't feel like this was enough crawfish compared to the price. He explained that crawfish season is coming to an end so the crawfish may weigh less than they usually do (basically insulting my intelligence because regardless of what they weigh GIVE ME ALL MY LBS THAT I PAID FOR) if you didn't have enough crawfish to go around and cheated us just say that. I let it slide because I didn't want to be that person. I explained to the server that we're still waiting on the crab legs and would like to eat them together. *time goes by* we still haven't received our crab legs but have finished our lil crawfish. This man walks out of the kitchen *still hasn't been to our table* and bring crab legs to another table with only 2 people. At this point you playing with me. He finally decides to bring the crab legs out and slide them on the table and say here's 2lbs of crab legs with a little voice all I took it as was "here bitch" Baby I proceeded to eat these crab legs turned them over baby and they're were fucking filthy and I've never seen anything like that before. I literally couldn't finish eating them, my appetite was ruined. I wasn't going to write this review but I honestly feel like y'all did that shit on purpose because it was only on 2 crab legs that look like they were broken from another cluster. Shrimps ...no head and didn't really get the Gulf Shrimps flavor (good w rice when I Togo but not amazing) Second time was Crawfish (i gotta give them another chance) and snow crabs. Crawfish were worst than last time, super small and takes forever to peel. Flavor were good but so not worth the effort. Snow crabs ... I paid the price so I'll try to finish but they're prefrozen and I don't think the attempt to thaw the thing out before they dumped them in the broiler (meat were sticking to the shell) 3 stars on the flavor ...service & the rest were just mediocre. read more

I've been going here for years and the crawfish has been consistently amazing every time!! I always get the spicy garlic butter flavor. Their crawfish is soooo well seasoned and fragrant. You can actually taste the seasoning in the meat- not just on the shells. I've noticed that this place tends to have bigger sized crawfish than other places I go to so that's another plus. I tried their razor clams and would not order again. They were slightly overcooked and weren't anything special. However, their crawfish is cooked perfectly every time! It's not in the cutest location, but the crawfish is what I come here for and will continue to revisit for. Do yourself a favor and come try it for yourself! read more

I hope this place stays around for a long time. This place used to be a Pho' place, which used to be some Chinese bbq place where you could drive by and see the carcuses dangling behind a plexi glass window. I thought going down the road about 6 miles to the new crawfish place next to Ha's had me in heaven not having to drive all the way to Bellaire, but low and behold like 5 minutes from my residence this place opens up! My first visit I had the fried fish, 6 oysters and 6 shrimps. The type of breading that they fry it on and the manner it was cooked made it one of the best I have ever eaten in my life. The food did not smell fishy, the fish filet was very crispy like a cracker on the outside as well as the oyster and shrimp. The shrimp is fresh, not frozen, you really can tell the difference. Plus it helps the owner is a wholesaler of seafood so you cannot expect anything sub par in quality. The fried rice was the only thing I can write that has much to be desired, but it's just a complimented side dish just like french fries. At the visit the owner's wife who usually cookes the fried rice had to step out for an emergency so their back up did the cooking on that part. Let's just say that it is like just steamed rice with a few bits of your usual fried rice vegetables cooked in with a few slither of fried egg. But remember, this is not a main dish so no hardcore review on the fried rice. The raw oysters, it's not on the menu but the owner was bringing a plate out to another table and those things were huge! I inquired the price and he said $7.99, very good deal for what they were. The crawfish I had were very good, right up there with all your major players in essence of your staple butterly garlic spicy seasoning. The ones I had today were a little on the medium size but it's because his supplier's father died that day and closed down for a bit so he had to go to another supplier. The owner gave me a tour of the back and what I can say is I have never imagined what they do back there. I worked at a restaurant where they separate it hand by hand over a sink but he had an good size industrial set up where the crawfish is placed on the steel "chute" type table and the dead/alive crawfish are separated there. At the right side is where they either fall to this large container of water (1000 gallon size). From there he uses a hose to fill the bin and wash them down, after this he pushes a valve lever with his feet and the dirty water drains, process is repeated until all of the crawfish are cleaned. I was wowed! This place can easily fit your part of 30 people as compared to the other place where you might be crunched to fit 15 by Ha's Kitchen. They take credit cards. There are 5 televisions for your viewing pleasure. Lime, salt and pepper was not served with the crawfish, have to ask but I think that might have been a server issue and not the standard but who knows, no biggy there. Restrooms are very clean, new, don't smell bad, yet. Parking can get scarce on a busy day, your sharing spots with Hoang Dong market and a Tapioca type place next door. Neighborhood not the best but not the worst. There are a few tables outside but they are so small so I am not sure how much food you can fit there, like 30" round. Owner is very enthused about how his customers feel about the product, my first visit he was right outside the door asking my friend and I how was everything inside. While eating I saw him converse with every table about how they liked everything and he was showing everybody the product that he has so much pride on, the other place that I compared this too does not do that. read more

I had dinner there one night last week after trying to eat at another nearby restaurant that had a ridiculously long wait time. This restaurant is part of the LA Crawfish chain here in Houston which are informal crawfish and seafood eat places. Upon being seated and perusing the menu I decided to stay healthy and away from the fried food and went with the grilled tilapia with fried rice. It arrived about 10 minutes later. The fish had a good grilled flavor to it and the rice was fine too. My table service was also good. I give the meal an overall of a 3 which means it was a-ok. To be fair I should probably try their crawfish and rate that since it is their specialty. read more

I wanted her to try something new being that we are originally from Washington DC we are not accustomed to eating crawfish during "crawfish season"... Before this spot I thought only Hanks on the other side of town had great crawfish, I guess I was wrong and now that I have a spot to go to on my side of town I will be visiting them OFTEN this summer! We had a few pounds of the spicy garlic crawfish, and garlic butter... The only thing is the garlic on the crawfish can be overwhelming with garlic butter, Next time I will stick with regular butter but stick with the spciy garlic seasoning. Love this place! Came here during our long layover in Houston and was not disappointed! The place is in a strip mall in North Houston, sandwiched between a seafood market and a boba tea place. Don't feel weird about the exterior - the food is worth it!! Between the 2 of us we ordered 2lbs of crawfish, blue crabs (in medium garlic butter), grilled razor clams with garlic butter , and grilled clams. Service was quick and efficient, and they provide you with gloves, even those it's easy for gloves to be poked with crawfish's shell. I would say the price is about average, but overall it was a great meal! read more

This is one of my favorite crawfish joints. They're close to home, consistently good crawfish and oysters, clean, and good service! I usually order grilled oysters with garlic butter and 5 lbs of crawfish with garlic butter. Yessss, the garlic butter is that good so I want it on everything!! Crawfish bag comes with 1 red potato and 1 piece of corn, which I'm not a huge fan of, meh. The corn is never sweet and the potato is plain and boring and sadly cannot be substituted. I'll live without them. Don't forget to ask for a side of the artery-clogging garlic butter for dipping! You won't regret it. Maybe later on in life though. read more

Finally getting around to write about this place. My FAVORITE crawfish spot! Beats all the places in Bellaire for 'Asian style' crawfish. Garlicy, buttery goodness smothered all over. Mild is good enough for me since it's spicy for being 'Mild'. Some other items to get: Baked oysters - garlic butter Corn Nuggets Cajun Fries Razor Clams The owner only opens when it's in season. This restaurant seemed to be very popular with Yelpers, so I gave it a try. I ordered a dozen raw oysters, which was pretty tasty and fresh. I ordered the family pack, which was 2 lbs of crawfish (mixed seasoning!!), 1 pound of shrimp, and a few pieces of corn, sausage, and potatoes. The food was tasty, hot, and delicious! What I liked best about the restaurant is that it was family owned and the servers were very friendly and attentive. I felt like family while eating here. This was my second time visiting and let me tell you they take garlic too seriously like the food wasn't enjoyable because of the bitter garlic overload. I couldn't even finish my food. The stars are simply because the crawfish were a nice size and the food was hot when it arrived. This place lacks in providing good service, the young man seemed a bit overworked and underwhelmed by the presence of patrons. I asked for a cup of water and the cup was visibly murky and dirty. Located on Veterans Memorial Drive, next to a Seafood market, their crawfish inventory has always been on point! Their Garlic Butter Crawfish recipe is one of my favorites! Yes yes yesssss!!! This is one of my go to spots for crawfish & seafood all around. They've recently started to add to their space, so the dining area is larger. Still clean & well lit. Bar area is nice place to sit as well. The service here is always friendly & prices are decent. The most important part though is the food! And it never disappoints. From crabs to crawfish, clams, fried rice & oysters its ALL good. All of it is super fresh. Last visit I had the cajun clams, 2 blue crabs & a few ice cold brews to wash it down. It was soooo delicious. Crabs were nice & juicy, clams full of yummy garlic. Took me a minute, but I finished every bit of it! LOL During peak seasons the mudbugs are jumbo & definitely not from the freezer. Heads up - there's a 2lb minimum for crawfish. They've got all the general options...garlic butter, spicy, cajun, mild. The food is full of actual flavor & spices. Not just a bunch of salty crawfish boil packets dumped on top of it! One of the best things about this restaurant is I never feel like I'm being rushed. Other spots seem to make you feel like you need to hurry up, eat & get the heck out. Wow... just WOW!! Need a place to get some tasty, flavor-filled crawfish? GO HERE! Located off of 249 in a run down strip, this place looks like it doesn't have much to offer. But step inside, smell the aroma of the seasoned crawfish and be prepared to get your fix! Crawfish is $8/lb. We got a mix of the spicy garlic butter and the mild garlic butter--and the spicy is SPICYYY. Even the mild was makin' my nose drip. But it was SO good! The flavors were amazing. I wished I could just eat the whole shell. At one point, I almost did. We also got a plate of fried catfish with fries and fried rice to fill our bellies more. Came out hot, fresh, and tasty!
