"Con ăn chưa?" -- Have you eaten yet? If you grew up in a Vietnamese home, you know those words mean so much more than the question itself. It's how our parents and grandparents show love. Food is how we care for one another, how we gather, and sometimes, how we find our way back home. That's what this place reminds me of. Don't let the playful name fool you--this is so much more than a pho restaurant. The pho is excellent, but what keeps me coming back are the dishes that taste like they came from a Vietnamese family kitchen. Bún bò Huế, bánh khọt, bánh xèo, canh chua cá, cá kho, thịt kho trứng... the kind of food that brings back memories before you even realize you were missing them. There are days when I'm homesick, craving a home-cooked Vietnamese meal, or simply don't have it in me to cook--and this is where I want to go. It feels comforting and familiar, like being fed by someone who knows exactly what you needed. And then there's the chè! They have one of the best selections I've found, plus they cater, so it truly has become my little one-stop shop for Vietnamese comfort food. Some restaurants you love because the food is good. Others you love because the food makes you feel something. This one feels like home. By far my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in DFW. read more

The food was delicious. My sister has been here many times and has commented how she is delighted that they have such a large variety of delicious Vietnamese dishes. My favorite is the beef pho, it is a combination of beef meats and meatballs. The service is great. I was so impressed by the decorations for lunar new year. My sister has MS and is walking with the assistance of a cane. She had no problem navigating through the restaurant to the restroom. read more

Grateful for my friends telling me about this place. It's a True hole in the wall that was worth the drive! I've been craving for my mom's cooking, specifically ca kho and canh chua. OMG they had it at this restaurant, and it was so good. They have many traditional dishes that my mom made for us in the past, so we'll have to come back. Service was great! The only thing that we wouldn't get here again are the desserts which were incredibly sweet. read more

I've eaten at What The Pho many times and the food is always delicious. This Vietnamese eatery, though it boasts a quite wide-ranging menu, is a favorite because of its fresh and flavorful food, in addition to its fresh fruit juices. The food's freshness and outstanding deliciousness are consistent. There's something for everyone to enjoy, whether it's a hearty bowl of pho, a classic banh mi (BOGO deals, anyone?), or a comforting plate of rice or noodles. The extraordinarily generous portions offer exquisitely balanced flavors. The quick as well as efficient service makes it a great spot for a casual meal. For an outstanding dining experience, try What The Pho, you won't be disappointed! read more

The service is good very calm place maybe becuase we came in when there wasn't a rush but good service. The tables were clean everything was well organized no sticky seats or tables. The food was AMAZING!!! It is so good i payed $11 for this huge bowl of Pho it had an egg, kimchi, noodles, broth, brisket, veggies, it was soo filling very very good delicious food. The spice level was good it wasn't too spicy to the point where you can't taste the food and my tolerance isn't that good for spice I can't eat a bag of takis withought chugging water. Spice is there but isn't insanely spicy. If you want to pay good prices for good filling tasty food eat here. Very good you need to try this place out delicious delicious food highly recommend. read more

I love "What the Pho" off Parker road. They always take care of me and get my order correct. The young ladies and man up front are very sweet and a joy to talk too. They're so nice and know me by name. They take good care of us in making our orders phenomenal and delicious. I was feeling under the weather plus it's getting cold here in north Texas so, I decided to pick up my health and feel better with some heart warming pho. Go get this on a cold day-you will not regret and you will feel much better after this hit of delicious comfort food. I got the chicken pho ga and it was yummy to my tummy. I am feeling better now. A post-church staple, especially the colder months. Their spring rolls are massive and have become a catering staple for our family parties and similar gatherings. Their brick and mortar is also in a prime location by 75, and large enough when the uncles and aunties come to town. read more

With how expensive things are getting, this place has the best value for pho. The noodle to meat ratio is great dine in or to-go and they even have specials that include an appetizer and drink. I never knew this establishment existed and I see why, bc it's located in the very back of the strip mall next to CVS and Jack In The Box. It's so easy to overlook for sure. First of all, I have to say that this Vietnamese restaurant is nothing like I've been to before. The menu is extensive(see pictures)and some dishes are very unique and very appealing. I've decided on spicy shrimp cakes(delicious), curry rice noodles soup with shrimp(very tasty)and Vietnamese ice coffee with ice cream and whip cream(so good). PB ordered summer rolls with shrimp(grilled shrimp), beef pho and he really liked the spicy shrimp cakes, he finished them for me. He also ordered lemonade(refreshing)and chocolate chip cookie. Our server was great. He didn't even write down our order and he got them right! Inside the restaurant was very spacious and airy. They sell Vietnamese rice puddings in different flavors(I've had them before in Hawaii. They're delicious). They also sell their own fish sauce which I had to purchase one. They have all sorts of cookies and shrimp chips(I love them)for sale. This restaurant will be our new "go to" Vietnamese restaurant from now on as we've been looking for one since one by our place has changed hands. I highly recommend it. We felt like we were eating home cooked meals at someone's house. read more

Clean, modern look and feel. Staff was welcoming although they did t check on me once I was served which I found a little odd. Maybe it was because I was here kinda late, around 8. They were nice enough though. The menu is extensive and they have several vegan options. I got the pho and it had interesting vegetables which made for a pretty presentation and a good soup. I did have to let it cool down before I could really eat it cause it was nuclear hot. I'd definitely come here again next time I'm in town. read more

The restaurant set up is nice and open, and you can seat yourself when you walk in. They are short staff so service is kind of slow, but the staff does try to keep up. Their pho is pretty good, but my actual favorite dish from this restaurant is the banh xeo (Vietnamese pancake). The batter is really good and crunchy. They offer different combos of dishes and drinks for a decent price, around $16-18. Worth checking out if you're in the east Plano area! read more

We came here looking for nem nuong cuon and chao tom cuon in Plano, so we wouldn't have to drive to Garland for these. Service wise, we got our waters very quickly and our order came out within 5-10 minutes! We got the egg rolls (5) a la carte. They are 50 cents each if you buy them by themselves ($2.50 total) or you can order them from the menu with sauce and vegetables for $5. They tasted delicious and much like what I expected. The nem nuong cuon and chao tom cuon were both okay but did not taste as good as they used to be. The vegetables were not as fresh as they could have been but this might have been because we came in the afternoon. The rice paper was also kind of chewy which was unexpected. I preferred the chao tom cuon more and the sauce served with them is good. The meat and crispy egg roll wrapper inside are definitely the star of the show but I'm not sure if I'd get the spring rolls again. Overall, I'd want to come back and give this place another try since it is closer to home but I would explore some other menu items for sure! read more

This is one of the most fantastic pho restaurants you can find on the east side of Plano!

This actually pretty decent. Pho was good. Key here is ask for extra sauce and chili Oil. Service is blah. It could be better. That's where a star was knocked off Super big and empty inside. Super clean. If you go in the mornings they have a guy mopping while you eat. Kinda gross because the super strong Pine-sol smell. But over all it's a quick place to get pho. They also sell snacks and drinks to go! Super plus! read more

What The Pho - Baby asked to come back twice in a row. beef pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Plano, Texas

I was excited about this place just by looking at the menu offerings prior to coming in for lunch since I was going to be in the area. I even came back again the following week driving from Fort Worth. They have so many options for seafood and vegetarian dishes with some being really unique. Not often do you find salmon fried rice, Vietnamese curry with shrimp, pho with grilled salmon, or turmeric fish spring rolls served at a restaurant. They even have pho with vegetarian broth. I will definitely try their pho when I can eat meat again because seafood or tofu pho just doesn't hit the same, but it's nice to have that option. I definitely have my eye on the beef rib pho. For my first visit, I had the turmeric fish spring rolls. The rolls have the fried spring roll wrapper inside it and I loved the crunchy texture in each bite. The server asked if I wanted the dipping sauce to be spicy and I appreciated it being served with chopped Thai chili peppers. I shared the green papaya, mango, and apple salad w/ grilled shrimp. The salad had a lot of ingredients and textures. It was on the sweet side due to the fruits and very refreshing. Other dishes ordered was the chicken fried rice and Bo Luc Lac on a sizzling plate reminiscent of Bo Ne served with a baguette. On my second visit, I had to get the shrimp sausage spring rolls (chao tom cuon). I was kicking myself for not getting it the first time. Cravings satisfied! These rolls are just like the ones from Bistro B in Arlington. Same family? Even the dipping sauce is the same. We ordered a family meal (Dinner for 3 A) that consisted of lotus salad, crispy Cornish hen, sweet and sour catfish soup, catfish in caramelized fish sauce, and 3 small pudding. I can't get enough of their lotus salads, the caramelized fish sauce catfish was sweet and very peppery (not a bad thing), soup was more sweet than sour, can't comment on the Cornish hen, and we didn't get any pudding. I like that they have traditional Viet dishes you eat at home (thit kho trung, kho qua xao trung) along with modern, unique dishes you don't see at many places, and everything in between. They have buy 1 get 1 free banh mi although I will say the protein was sparse. The restaurant is spacious and clean. They even have patio seating. The two times I went for lunch on a Saturday the crowd was light. I hope they are busier at dinner time or during the week. Customer service was friendly on both visits. It's a drive for me but i am definitely making it a point to come back here when I'm craving Viet food with seafood and vegetarian options. read more

Overall, this place is good. The food is good, the staff is nice, and they always have Bob Ross playing on the TVs. They serve a full Vietnamese menu, playing all the hits like a Cheesecake Factory of Vietnamese delicacies. Hot take, I know. But like CF, everything is good...but not as great as if you specialized in one thing. (Yes I know that CF specializes in cheesecake.) Pricing is a little higher than you might find in the middle of Garland, but pretty on par with some of the more Americanized Vietnamese offerings. I like the grilled pork vermicelli, bahn xeo, and especially the bahn khot (pictured) which is like eating a delicious shrimpy salad with all of the fresh veggies. There are limited Vietnamese options in the East Plano area, and I'm happy that What the Pho is here. read more

Fantastic grilled pork bahn mi. Decor and service is outstanding. Great eggrolls as well.

My wife, daughter, and I visited this spot and were very impressed. I am a Pho fanatic so I had been keeping my on this spot for months while they were completing construction. It's downtown, hidden away behind some buildings so if you are not a local you may have trouble finding it. We went in the the place and it was really unassuming. This was the kind of place that all the energy and focus was on the FOOD! My wife and daughter ordered the shrimp Pho while I had the combination Pho with rare steak, beef tendon, and tripe. It was awesome! We also got crab ragoons which were also tasty and perfectly cooked. They saved money on drinks so don't except a lot (Canned sodas, tea and iced coffee). Yhey also didn't splurge on decor, but it really didn't matter because the food was all the decor they needed. Awesome spot! I found my new favorite Pho spot! #winning P.S. I meant to take pics but I had already finished my food before I thought about it...ah well! read more
