I was there today (2/5/25) to have some copies made of a key, a key that I've had duplicated more than several times at Foster's. In fact, I've never had this key duplicated anywhere else. I was told by an older male employee who was called up front to make the keys that I'd never had that key duplicated there, that I must have went to another Ace Hardware. I tried to explain that no, I've never been anyplace else, but he was hell-bent on being right and me being wrong. So I guess I'm either stupid and have no clue where I've gone in the past to have this one key duplicated (Foster's is just over a 10 minute walk from my house), or I'm just flat-out lying for some reason about where I've gotten the key duplicated. I was literally dumbstruck for a moment, as I've never been talked to in such a way from an employee of any establishment. So I asked the guy why is he calling me a liar, he said he wasn't calling me a liar, so my question is if you're not calling me a liar, then what are you calling me? I said I've had the key duplicated here, he said no I did not. I'm pretty sure that's accusing me of lying. He got very rude to me, and yes, I got ugly with him as well. I don't respond very well to being called a liar (or someone insinuating that I'm lying when I'm not). Calling someone a liar, even insinuating that someone is lying, is a complete attack on someone's character. The only thing worse than accusing someone of lying is being wrongfully accused of being a thief. And I won't stand for it. I'll give you a million reasons to be mad at me, but lying will never be one of those reasons. If he had any doubts, he could've simply said "we don't make these copies anymore", or "I understand that while yes, you've had this key duplicated here in the past, we're unable to duplicate this key", or something, anything other than what he said. Yes, as I said, I got ugly with him also, but it really angered me to be called a liar. My money, and others like me who appreciate the mom and pop small business hardware stores, keep small businesses like Foster's open. You not only bit one of the hands that feed you, but you insulted me in a way I've never been insulted before. I've been a customer of Foster's since 2008, I've spent many thousands of dollars there, and from January 2020 to December 2024, I've spent over $8500 at Foster's. Not at all a life-changing amount of money, but that money will be spent elsewhere thanks to one extremely rude employee, who sadly brought out the worst in me. It's upsetting to me as I always enjoyed shopping there. I signed up for Yelp just to write this one review.

Steve told me I was totally in the wrong aisle and he confidently took me where I needed to be. He took the nasty used pipe out of the old grocery bag I had it in, and got to work. He found everything I needed. He had to cut the pipe as mine was not able to take a kit piece. By bringing the old piece in he was able to cut what I needed to size. I was in and out, so quickly! Lowes to me is a theme park where you can basically find anything you are looking for when dealing with your house, garden, or any living space you care about. This particular store is very well organized and clean, and the staff does a great job providing excellent customer service. I have been here many times looking for something particular but end up walking out with way more than I planned to! The return policy is hands down second to none of the best! There are no questions asked, and they even pick up the item directly from your house if it is too large. They offer free delivery as well as free assembly for items when purchasing on the website. I particularly enjoy the garden section, where they have an abundance of items for your home garden. The prices and value are very competitive with local stores, and I believe they do a great job keeping keeping items affordable in this time we live in. To all the active, retired, and military veterans, they offer a 10% discount when registering your information through their website. They have self check out along with cashiers in place to get you in and get you out without all the waiting in lines for service. This Lowes is in a prime location with ample parking and is convenient for the community to handle any home project or upgrades to their house. Way back in February, I ordered two boxes of 3M N95 respirator masks from this company. A month…read morewent by and still no masks, but I did get a message saying delivery would be delayed due to the shortage of masks at that time. Okay, that seemed pretty normal. Then, more months went by, and I had to contact this company to see where my order was. This went on each month thereafter. I had to contact them each time. If I hadn't, I would have gotten NO communications, just silence. Each time, I was given assurance that the masks would be arriving soon. They FINALLY arrived mid~August, five months after the order was placed. When I opened the boxes, I noticed the loops looked as if they were attached the wrong way. I emailed the company and sent photos. I thought they were defective. The company explained that they were supposed to fit over the head and not around the ears, which absolutely does not work for me, since I have very long hair, making them very impractical for me. They also tried to tell me that, since there was a "disclaimer" on the product page, they were not at fault and tried to pass the responsibility on to the manufacturer. I was told that there are photos on the 3M web site showing what the product actually is, and how the loops fasten. My questions here are why would I go to the manufacturer's page unless told to do so, and why were those photos not on this company's product page? This business also had the opportunity to explain the loops in the product description as well as with photos, where they are nowhere to be found. All the photos of this product have the loops tucked, so that you can't tell how they are attached to the mask, which is at the top and bottom instead of at the sides. Anyone would assume they have ear loops, as is the norm. In my mind, that is not quite representative of the product. It is deceiving. It is false advertising and, so, not the product I thought I was ordering. If I would have known about the loops, I would never have ordered these masks. Perhaps that was the point. I was told the manufacturer was not accepting returns. I do not understand what this has to do with the company I ordered them from refunding my money. I did not order them through the manufacturer but through AFT. I did not receive the product I thought that I was ordering, because it was misrepresented. This is not my fault, as it is the responsibility of the company to meticulously describe the products it is selling. I am extremely unhappy with the outcome of this order, with this company and with the product they sent me. I am sure there are others who also feel the same after having received a product they did not order or want. I sincerely hope this company will remedy this in the future. P.S. At the time I placed the order, the part about no returns or refunds was not there. In fact, I was twice offered a refund in email, all of which I have saved. Now, I'm told they will not honor any refunds. On the positive side, when I did email them, they replied fairly quickly and politely but always wrote in ALL CAPS.
