The guy I spoke to, Jose, quotes me a price on a door higher than McCoys Lowes, or Home Depot.

I went there on recommendation of a friend who goes all of the time. I wanted a new front door. At first they gave me the wrong size door. When I took it back they said there were no refunds even though I told them the exact height I needed. Fortunately they had one that worked so I was able to exchange it. But you get what you pay for. 1) I've purchased a Vanity countertop on sale that was backordered indefinitely. 2) Lost my $100 nonrefundable deposit on countertop measurement after being told I need to purchase slabs at a higher price than initially discussed. 3) Purchased porcelain tile for kitchen floor. 20%of the tiles had some obvious imperfection (chip, barcode stain, surface bulge. This location is probably my favorite one. Jesus helped me soon as I walked in the door get my cabinet order together then he assisted with getting the right sink and faucet picked out then lastly helped get my flooring needs taken care of. Marcial, Bushir, and Marty all assisted the next day get my trailer load in a very timely manner and double checking the entire order. Jesus caught one wrong cabinet pulled and got it corrected thankfully so because I drove from 3 hours away. Will definitely continue using this store and highly recommend! read more

Picked up Vanity and vanity top. The vanity was fine but the Vanity top was broken. I called to see I could have it replaced. Due to their policy supposedly I signed off and stated everything was fine even though I never got the opportunity to inspect since it was already loaded in my truck and too heavy to move myself. Ordered a full set of cabinets. They sat in storage untouched for over a month because of a construction set back. One was damaged and i contacted the business. I didn't receive a follow up email and i got busy with work and a bit of time went by before i could contact them again. I did speak to a rude person regarding this however when i talked to the correct person they are going to make it right. The rest of the cabinets were great for the price. My wife and I were looking for materials needed to install a wood laminate floor. Our contractor suggested this place as one of stores to look at. This was the second store he had us look at. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too busy. We talked to the first salesman that asked if we needed any help. We had some samples with us and we pretty much knew what we were looking for. They had quite a selection of laminate wood flooring in stock. We found the color that we wanted and it was at great price too. They had it all in stock. In addition to the wood laminate we were also looking for tile flooring for the bathroom. They also had the color we were looking for and in stock as well. Be sure and have all your measurements with as much detail as possible. That way the salesman can add up your square footage and provide you with best possible price. So disappointed with our experience at this store. Not only were we shortened on the amount of tile we received TWICE, but we were also given broken and discolored tile with huge yellow stains all over it. On top of that, when loading up our truck, the employee shoved the tile so hard with a fork lift that it broke the topper on our vehicle. When we went back to get the correct amount and talk about the damage done, we were treated horribly, never given the tile we paid for and were told by the manager that a WOMAN shouldn't have came to pick it up. Neat looking store. We had just had a house built and the wife wanted a matching kitchen island to the cabinets. Found from our builder that this is the company that provided the cabinets in the house. So we go down and meet up with the cabinet guy and we go over our options. He wanted our kitchen dimensions so he could better price out the island. Called him back the next day and gave him the dimensions and he said he would get us the quote within a few days. I recently purchased cabinets, tile, vinyl and countertops from Seconds & Surplus in both Dallas and Grand Prairie. Due to the extent of my remodel, it was recommended that we go with FloorsNDoors for our installation. Though it did take some time to get the cabinets in, we were not in a hurry to get this project completed. We waited for everything to come in before scheduling installation to avoid hiccups. The installation is almost complete, with countertops going in this Friday. Countertops are being done by Seconds & Surplus custom countertop installer. I think the most important thing when doing a remodel is to know that it is a process, rushing it will result in errors and a potential bad experience. read more

When it says 2nds, believe it. I bought an entire pallet of ceramic tile, paid for it for be delivered, and when the tile guys unbanded and unwrapped it from its thick cocoon, 70% of it was damaged. There was no way to check every tile at the time of delivery! I am guessing they know this. My options are none, pay for another service to come pick it up. Now I am 2 days behind, lost my slot for the tile guy and have no tile because guess what? I only purchased less than 2 weeks ago and they have no more to exchange. Surprise, surprise. I recently purchased a fixer upper and needed help with Kitchen & baths design and based a recommendation from my Realtor- I headed to Seconds & Surplus in Grand Prairie. It was overwhelming to say the least but the Salesmen Chris Aston was guiding me every step of the way. He made cost effective recommendations and was completely honest about the prices as well as being knowledgeable about the products within the store. I jokingly asked about sliding barn doors & a pantry door thinking they didn't have it but low and behold-- they had those too!!! BEWARE OF SECOND AND SURPLUS BUILDING MATERIALS!!!! What I am about to tell you is not a horror story but a chain of real life events that happened to my wife at Second and Surplus in Grand Prairie, TX * March 18th - purchased a new front door for $2,100. We were told it was the last door in stock and they would hold onto it until we could pick it up the following week * March 18th - received a phone call after we left the store saying the door was damaged. The sales associate had missed some obvious and extensive damage (unable to upload photos). They said they had the door at their Dallas location and would ship it to Grand Prairie * March 29th - sales associate text messages saying they have some bad news... new door came in but was also damaged (not joking). They'll give me $100 off if I'll take as-is... I told them no. Said they should receive a new shipment of front doors to their Grand Prairie location in mid-April if I didn't mind waiting * April 22nd - radio silence... there had been no contact since March 29th. I reached out asking the status of our door. Sales associate told me one second, he'd check... * May 8th - sales associate responds. Yes, it took 16 days to receive a response - have the text messages to prove it (told you this was a horror story). Associate says door is coming but will be delivered to Dallas. I told him we live in Kennedale and Dallas is an hour drive (why we went to the Grand Prairie location). He says that's where it will be and they won't transfer or deliver it. Says he will follow-up next week * May 12th -no word. Wife calls the Grand Prairie location and speaks to a manager. Manager says they are still waiting on the door and will contact us next week * May 16th - still no door Note: I wanted to summarize my experience in a clear and concise manner that was humorous but completely accurate and unfortunate. 20-20 hind's sight we would have never purchased a door from this company.
