Let me state that this is about their snack bar. You know when you go to Costco and go $1.50 get a hotdog and a drink? Well we arrived early to ikea and decided to grab a hotdog as we have never tried theirs before and needed a snack. Assuming they would offer the same quality as Costco or Sam's we paid our dollar and waited. Now the hotdog was up quick, so no complaints there. The quality had much to be desired. The hotdog was basically a cheap Aldi hotdog, flavorless and bland. Texture was weird. Very disappointing. read more

Addicting much? Yes! Went in for the first time in years to buy some Billy Bookcases. The store was so overwhelming, but calming at the same time. It was super busy, but we made out way through the maze of departments, ooohing and ahhing at everything until we finally found an employee who helped us with the order. Highly recommend Billy Bookcases for any space. they're high quality, easy to put together, and a great value. we're planning more projects and going Full-Ikea on some future projects. read more

Terrible customer service. An employee told me I had to bring my broken item (broke after one use, not my error) back within 6 months in order to get an exchange. So 5 months later I haul the item all the way back (if you don't live in a city with an IKEA, it may take a little time to get back to one!) and the employee helping me had nothing to do with honoring what I had been told by the other employee. Wouldn't return or exchange the item. Also if you look on the website return policy, it says nothing about damaged items needing to be returned within a certain amount of time. Since I'm already leaving this review, I might add that the employees at this location were slacking so bad. We waited in the return line for 20 minutes bc there was only one employee doing returns (others employees just moseying around) just to have our return denied, for a defective IKEA product. What?? Update the website with your true policy, honor what your customers have been told, and act like you care about helping your customers that visit IKEA every time they come into town. What's not to like about IKEA? You can wander the store for hours on end, or you can take shortcuts and grab just the few items on your list. My wife and I love their Billy bookcases. We've had them for years and occasionally buy new ones when we need more space. They are cheap enough that you aren't sad if one gets broken while moving, but good looking enough to make it look like an adult lives here. The same goes for most of the furniture and decor that IKEA has to offer. If you've never been to IKEA, then it's time to climb out from under that rock and come check this place out! read more

This isn't really a review for the furniture. It's a review for the food! IKEA buffet was a really good deal and it wasn't crowded at all! If you get the family membership, you can do the buffet. They have your famous meatballs, pastries (the best part of it), and other various Swedish food items. It isn't a good idea for me to go into an IKEA. I love everything. I haven't been inside an IKEA for approx to years. It was awesome being there. The kitchen items are always interesting. I love all the towels and washcloths with a flap on the end to make it easy to drape them on a hook. This store has "typical" decorated room ideas that make everything look wonderful. The IKEA blue (and rainbow & black bags with NY on them) bags are useful for everything. The small bags are perfect for jars and heavier groceries. The medium bags are great for picnic items. The giant bags work well for laundry. They even have tiny change purses. The clearance section didn't have anything exciting but that area changes all the time. read more

Finally went to Ikea just to see what they sold. Very strange store set-up. You have to zigzag through the store easy to get lost. Very hard to locate items if you see something and want to go back. Good luck. Don't really see any employees. I think it is help yourself. The walk inside the store is around a mile. Great place to get your steps in. As for items they sell you always hear about comes in a box and have to put together. That is true but they have a bunch of other items to buy with no assembly required. They have about everything you need for your house, appliances, beds and bedding, furniture, kitchen items just to name a few things. I'm not a shopper so will probably not be back. For others enjoy Ikea. read more

Hooray, we don't have to drive all the way to Frisco for the IKEA experience. This location is a little smaller, but otherwise it's pretty much the same. A long, winding path of showroom after showroom, futon after futon, set of plastic bowls after set of animal print pillow shams. You follow the goods all the way to the cafeteria for Swedish meatballs, tomato soup, basic salad, and chicken tenders with fries. After lunch, you move on to all the cutesy kitchen stuff and make your way to where all the disassembled pieces are boxed and stored, ready to take home -- and finally checkout. I've been going to IKEA a lot lately, and I enjoy eating food there. It's good for what it's worth. Overall, we ordered DAIM Almond Cake Chocolate and Crunch, Smoked Salmon Salad, Swedish Meatballs Plate, Pizza, and Vegan/Normal Hot Dogs. Although delicious, there were some inconsistencies with the cake I received--also the reason why I decided to give a 4-star rating. My first try at the DAIM Almond Cake Chocolate and Crunch was absolutely amazing; it was the best cake I have tried. However, that feeling quickly dissipated my second-time around. The second time was a bit too sweet, and it wasn't as 'fresh' as it tasted the first time. As for the Smoked Salmon Salad, it was really good. I don't usually like smoked salmon, but this was the winner. The Swedish Meatball Plate OK. It doesn't beat the Smoked Salmon Salad, but it still good nonetheless. The Pizza was a bit dry and not that great. As for the hot dogs, the Vegan hot dog was so amazing--probably because of all of its toppings that you don't get with the normal hot dog. So, we always go to the IKEA in Frisco, Texas. But here lately, they are constantly out of some items, because of popularity. So, we made the trip across DFW to the IKEA in Grand Prairie. Twice, this store has had the item in stock when Frisco was out. Yea for me! This item, by the way, is their oatmeal cookies with chocolate. This has turned out to be my favorite cookie. I get 3 or 4 boxes every trip, cause that's a long drive from Abilene to get cookies! Since the cookies are in the deli at the very front of the store, I've never actually been in this location to shop! But that's ok, cause Glenda wants a desk setup that IKEA has, so we'll be back. due to the fires in Los Angeles I am staying with family here in dallas and have a room offered to me. I went to Ikea to purchase a king size bedframe on the isle specified by their own website. upon arriving I was presented with a sign that says please notify any employee for assistance. I notified 3 employees they all guided me to the register. thought I could just pay for it and load it in the car. you would think that. but no. some 20 year old kid that doesn't want to do any sort of work tells me I need to order it online, then wait for text conformation, then take that text to a separate kiosk to pay. then take the recipt to another counter and have them pull my order. I look them right in the eyes and ask them if this makes any sense. trust me the response from these uneducated little kids is so bizarre. one of then muttered "fucking Californians" under their breath. well let me tell you IM A FUCKING AMERICAN! THERE IS 50 STATES NOT ONE. I will never give IKEA another dime of my hard earned money. I hope the management checks YouTube for my video. read more

I saw the End of Summer Clearance commercial on tv! It was hilarious! I told myself, I gotta go! Since the commercial said, it was ending soon. I went Wednesday evening like around 5:30 pm. The parking lot wasn't too full. There was a letter in each parking section to help you find your parking spot! Inside ikea there was a minimal crowd. I found that shoppers were looking at the same products I was, little awkward. I read a sign that said, Wack Wednesday. I was like, Omg! What day is it? I was like, today is Wednesday! Its my lucky day! Wednesdays at ikea means selected items are discounted! Yippee! There was a variety of items, to chose from, at very low prices! Although, prices were low, The description of items were in another language and at times,I didnt know how much some items cost. The cafe was beautifully decorated. The cafe included various items and drinks. I was in the mood for sweet Tea but, they had hot tea. I was a little bummed. Oh well. Lots of store associates who go above and beyond to help you and our confident with thier responses. They were helping many customers who got lost bc, there's different routes to take. Its a bit overwhelming at times. There are also someemployees who are engaged in too much personal conversation. I didnt want to ask for help bc, they were so involved in conversation. I just did the best I could. Their uniforms are very unique. Its a yellow polo shirt with a floral pattern. Looks like something you would wear out and about. Also, I wish they had greeters to help first time shoppers. It would be nice, if someone told me the best way to browse the store. Honestly, I didnt want to be thing! Checking out was not so smooth. I didnt realize, you had to purchase an ikea bag or bring your own. I was juggling all my items. Also, my stuff rang up wrong. So, I wasnt too happy. I estimated before going to the register and then when the price was wrong I was disappointed. It was nothing like the ikea commercial.boo hoo. Around the corner was customer service. Wasnt exactly sure how they handle returns. Wasnt sure who had been helped. I saw people sitting down waiting to be helped but saw Csr at register not helping anyone. You take a number, you see on the screen then go to the counter for exchange or refund. They are really nice about it too! Theres more cons than pros but, it was still an exciting adventure. It was thrilling with an adrenaline rush! Been wanting to come to this place ever since it opened! When I finally got to go, it meant so much to me! This is an alright IKEA. I've been to only a couple others and I think I prefer the others I've been to over this one. I like IKEA because it's really well laid out and you can gather a lot of inspo as you're walking around. It's kinda like Costco in the sense that I can just go into an IKEA, not really planning on buying anything, but walk out with a whole bag of things. I didn't find as many things at this location, maybe because it wasn't as big as others. But I did manage to fill a bag with those square storage containers, utensil sets, and a salad drier. They had some Christmas decorations available, too. I like checking out the clearance section near the registers and picking up reusable bags. Soooo I saw some people who had pink and teal ikea bags. Obviously I wanted one, but none of the employees could give any info as to how to get one. They were really unhelpful! On the way out, I got an ice cream cone and a cinnamon roll. Both came out to $1 each (including tax!!). Amazing! The cinnamon rolls were warm, soft and not too sweet. The cinnamon flavor was in every bite. We ended up buying a container of 6 to take home (and it was only $4!) read more

This IKEA has a much different feel than the other IKEAs I've been to. Unlike others, this one feels smaller but that doesn't mean you experience less of that "I'm lost" feeling. Overall, the place is clean, the bathrooms are clean, and the marketplace items are also clean/organized. The staff are friendly. This is such a great store to look at furniture and room designs with the family. I actually enjoy purchasing kitchen essentials here because it's so affordable! I've been to the Frisco location but I must admit this location is so much better regarding the design and layout. The food court is easy to find as well as the exit if you don't want to walk through the entire store. I especially loved the children section ! The kids loved hanging out and playing there. This new location is just as good as the larger one in Frisco. Despite being only one level it still is loaded with lots of goodies. The lines were long but seemed to move very quickly. The restaurant was delicious and inexpensive. Be sure to sign up for the Ikea family card for additional savings on various purchases and half off on coffee in the restaurant. read more

We did stop to eat in the cafe. $12 for two kids meals, 1 adult Swedish meatballs, and 1 soda. The portions were perfect! The food this evening was a little cold. But, that maybe because they were closing in and hour. The staff was great. So helpful and friendly, especially in the cafe. The restrooms were clean and stocked. Ok c'mon ikea. Where's the rest of the store at. This one is definitely smaller than the rest of the ikeas. It had a nice decor and it's easy to get lost here, but as you're finding yoir way you'll definitely see some pretty nice and cool home furnishings. Basically this IKEA gets three stars because it's kind of basic but it has most things that may need and some that you may want at an affordable price. One thing that I did really like about this IKEA is the variety in the customizations and the virtual decor program. My spouse and I were pretty much able to virtually build our own kitchen with their software which was nice for future reference. All and all, if you want some nice looking decor and furniture at an affordable price and don't feel like driving to Frisco try this IKEA out. read more
