I had a very disappointing customer service experience at the Grand Prairie location. I attempted to return a few seasonal items due to better pricing at another store. While there, I noticed the newly discounted price was even more attractive so I decided to repurchase. As a Perk member, I understand the store promotes benefits such as hassle-free returns and no questions asked. In the past, I have never experienced any issues with returns or repurchasing items at adjusted pricing. But on this visit, the store manager, Cassandra, refused to honor the store policy stating that we do not do price matching and that I cannot return items and repurchase them. First, I never asked for price adjustment; I simply stated that I was returning them and then repurchasing them and buying more of the same items. I reference the return policy which was right on the counter and ironically, she stated that was not applicable to me. I asked her to please call her manager over. She left and came back after a few minutes with the store director, Lory, who agreed with her. I asked both managers to clearly explain how my return fell outside of policy guidelines, especially since I had my receipt and was well within the return window (less than 30 days; as a perk member you actually receive additional 30 days to return). Initially, they declined to assist. It was only after I asked how to escalate the matter that the director agreed to proceed, noting that the transaction required manual input because the system would not automatically recognize it. They even had the nerve to question why I was returning to this store vs going back to the store of purchase, which was located in Oklahoma (not sure why in heck this was a concern but truly showed me their ignorance). The overall interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and inconsistent with the customer-friendly policies the store advertises. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed by the lack of professionalism and clarity. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location. I guess the term "the customer is always right" has been tossed out the window. I'm afraid to even question what happened to common sense? I wish there was an option for a "No Star" rating because they surely earned it with this one! read more

Stopped here for some Christmas ornaments and this place was VERY picked over. I was not expecting the space to look that way just a few weeks out from Christmas and on a weekend. We found a couple ornaments but nothing close to what we were hoping for, and staff was scarce on the floor. I absolutely love this store... you can find everything. Has furniture, planters, everything for outdoors and indoor decorating. The sales can be pretty awesome to find a great buy...for a great gift! And I was so happy to find someone (Chris) go above and beyond in helping me look for something. Where was this place when I was looking for fun pieces to decorate my home and apartments past? Oh yeah, it was Garden Ridge and I would never step foot in there. Haha. My mom has been raving about this place as of late so I decided to pop in here after a run to the outlet mall that's right next door. My takeaways? 1) This place is HUGE. So huge that I didn't even know where to begin. Feeling slightly overwhelmed, I opted to browse each section for a few minutes to get an idea of what each section had to offer. 2) Employees are friendly and willing to help. 3) They are serious about the "home" theme. Lots of signs throughout the store are in the shape of a home. Very cute. 4) Their prices are extremely reasonable. 5) Their decor is cute! At Home is the size of a Wal-Mart, with the selection of Ross or Home Goods, with price points that are generally too high for what it is. Quite a bit of the merchandise looked poorly made or damaged. You could spend hours in here if you are a thorough shopper - this place is great if you are looking for something specific given they have 50+ nightstands, at least 100+ area rugs, etc. Sales are not clearly marked. I bought two ceramic figures and found out when I got to the register that they were 50% off. Pleasantly surprised while shopping with mother. The minute you walk in the impression is 'where do you begin'? We probably spent one hour in the store, the staff was busy but wouldn't mind asking if you needed assistance. The variety is plentiful, product ranges from candles to outdoor flags and more....the store stays in season according to the helpful signs posted throughout. I am surprised this place has not been reviewed. I leave out one star because the cash register is a bit confusing and not convenient for taking items out of your cart/basket to place on the counter. The store is very large and laid out well. Many sale items are in the front area. I did not see one staff person on the floor. No one asked if we needed help. Non sale items were in a sale area. It was hard to find sale furniture tags with so many non sale items so to move. In my opinion the furniture is low quality and high priced. Why not spend a little more at a furniture store and get a good piece that will last. They do have plenty of accent items and pillows to chose from. While the variety of merchandise is great, the service is not. I walked through this mega store for an hour or so while four young male employees followed each other around for just as long. Each time I strolled past an isle where they were gathered talking about girls, they would huddled slowly into the next isle to continue their conversation. Not once did they ask "may I help or assist you". When I spoke with the cashier when making my purchase he provided me with several reasons why these four would hold lengthy conversations with each other rather than assisting At Home customers. Went to the Grand Prairie location this past weekend. Lot's of "stuff", most of it has a cheap mass produced China-by-the container-load look. But they do have a huge selection of what they sell. I went in just to see what they're about, walked the entire very large store and ended up buying a couple of outdoor chair cushions that look nice and appear well made. Time will tell if they hold up. Yes, I am sure I'll return, out of so many offerings there's always going to be an item or two that will be appealing. read more

Great selection of things for your home both inside and out. Great place to find unique decor.. my wife and I live at home but most places you come back because of the staff that work there. I am not sure what At Home needs to change in the hiring process,but customer service is not the list to work there based on what I experienced. Their "Bed in a Bag" sales are legendary and you really have to comb through the 2+ isles of packages to find the size, style and price you want. This place is massive. I knew it was Garden Ridge prior so I had to go in and see what was different about it, It reminded me of a large Hobby Lobby, Warehouse style time 10. It is not for the budget conscious but you can find some things if you are on a budget. You definitely can be creative with your home here by buying unique pieces for every area. I can say that it was laid out very well and clear and not cluttered so that did impress me. You can spend quite a bit of time in here buying or browsing. This store does not care about customer satisfaction. Purchased a complete wicker set and it didn't even last a season. Within 3 mos, these chairs fell completely apart. They weren't defective, discounted or even on sale when purchased. I spend so much money there, I won't be purchasing anything else there. I usually enjoy shopping at this store. However, today, aisles were blocked by large pallets as well as moving equipment. If I am unable to easily browse the aisles, I am less likely to make a larger purchase. Also, staff was non-existent. The cashier that took care of my purchase seemed uninterested and dismissive to my complaint. I suggest stocking shelves during hours when the store is closed or at the very least, remove the equipment and do not block aisles. read more

I have several issues with the store in Grand Prairie TX. I've gone back hoping things will be better. But no more. First of all, while they have a wide variety of items, most are extremely overpriced. The few meager discounts offered are usually for items not many people want. Unfortunately, customer service has deteriorated or is nonexistent. Recently, one evening I went on their website to purchase a fire pit. The one I selected indicated there were 2 available at this store. I asked for curbside pickup. I received confirmations via text and email that my order was received. However, instead of getting a message telling me when I could come and pick it up, I get an email the next afternoon stating the fire pit was not available! I called to talk to the store manager (Barbara) asking if there was some mistake. She tells me they didn't have it and that their inventory was inaccurate. I wondered why their website indicated 2 were available. She then asked me if I had ever been to the store before (SMH). When I replied Yes, she said, "Well then you know how big the store is." Perhaps this was a condescending attempt to explain why they couldn't keep the inventory correct on the website. She wasn't apologetic or professional and to make matters worse, she rudely & abruptly said she had another call and had to go! Wow...I wasn't the one prolonging the conversation! read more

Horrible service. Last time we were here, they gave us a little piece of paper that said "15% off valid July 1-31". So we went on July 30th and even found a red-line item (signs all over the store say the red lines indicate 50% off clearance items). When we go to check out, we're informed that our paper that they gave us isn't a coupon... Just a flyer... With an expiration date. Then when they ring up our items, they said they rang up as purple line items which are only 10% off. Apparently, the actual color of the line is irrelevant. They called Michael, the manager, over and he refused to do anything on either issue. Horrible service, and they likely lost customers for life. Pardon my language, but this place has gone to hell in a hand basket. I have tried to drop in there from time to time in hopes that they have realized the error of their ways and changed back to the store that we all used to love. What I continue to find is nothing short of a flea market. What is left of the silk flower section seems to be the dregs of what once was, what normally would have been in their final clearance section. I read some of the other reviews, and the consensus seems to be the same. Go back to your previous glory. I haven't seen more than 5 cars parked out on a huge parking lot where you used to have to fight for space. WAKE UP!!! read more

First, it is NOT the Garden Ridge of years past...used to love this store...but I will visit from time to time to look for something specific and am again reminded how downhill the new owners have let this store go! The messiness, the disaray of products, the quaility of items offered at a higher price than most discount stores. However, today, when I tried to exchange a christmas item FOR another Christmas item...the answer was no. Yeah, I didn't have a receipt, but the product was still in the package AND clearly marked Garden Ridge. I didn't want my money back, I just wanted to exchange it. How does that make sense? That you cannot do an even exchange??? Just because I didn't have a receipt? All other stores I shop at DO accept exchanges when products are brought back in original packaging.
