If you don't like it, you can exchange, have repaired, or return. I returned an iron bed frame that I had for several months which showed signs of rust--received full refund. I love room and board furniture but this location has a customer service issue. I went with my family to look at furniture - and no one wanted to help us. I guess the sales reps did not think we looked like we were able to afford any of the pieces and decided not to help us at all. I finally went to the front to ask for help and they looked up my account and realized that a have been a long time customer. I decided not to buy in the store as the experience was so off pudding and no one in the store deserved my commission. I decided to buy online and the store sales rep attached herself to my online sale. Recommendation - treat all possible customers with respect. People with families buy furniture too and we don't always dress fancy. Spend more time treating customers well vs trying to "justify" your commission after the fact. read more

Meh this place is just ok. Don't expect to be greeted if you are just wearing jeans and a t-shirt because I guess in this area of town it means you don't have any money to spend. We went shopping for furniture at multiple stores and popped in here. Not once were we even acknowledged by any sales person. One of the sales people was having a good old time chatting away with someone she obviously knew the whole entire time we were in the store. This store sells contemporary furnishings if this is your aesthetic. Store was clean from what I could see. We tried out a few pieces and they seemed to be well made and you can expect to pay for it. Definitely has a snobbish feeling to it while we were there. I guess it just comes with the territory. read more

I was so happy to find that Room and Board was in Dallas. I live in Austin, but needed furniture before the Austin location opened up, so the Dallas location helped me out. I purchased a couch and could not be happier! Cindy Chuang is amazing and I highly recommend you reach out to her. She is very good with the design software and it really helped me ensure the couch would fit in my space. I also happen to think she has impeccable taste. My couch was one section of a modular set and it almost didn't work out and after months of waiting on my custom couch, R&B would have taken it back no questions asked even if it was custom which I thought was pretty spectacular! It didn't come to that though as the small problem I had was resolved. The delivery folks were great as well. Highly recommend. read more

If I'd known it would take over 5 months to get my sofas, I would've looked elsewhere. While most things about my previous review hold true, it's incredibly frustrating that my delivery date was postponed twice. I understand things like the winter storm and pandemic are out of their control, so delays will happen, but it seems that delivery delays has been an issue long before 2020 so there's really no excuse. When I finally got my sofas, delivery was great. The 2 fellas were very professional and it was probably 1 of the quickest, tidiest large deliveries I've ever had. I'd give them 5 stars. The sofas themselves are exactly what I wanted. The color's perfect, they feel durable, and I can appreciate the craftsmanship. It's a well-made piece of furniture and I truly hope it lasts a lifetime. R&B just needs to get their act together and be more accurate about their delivery timelines. read more

I love Room & Board, plan and simple. We've shopped with them for years and have always had a great experience. Dallas is the smallest showroom we've been to but found the staff to be as friendly and knowledgeable as their other locations. Their designs are sophisticated and clean with their quality being unmatched, not to mention, most of the items they sale are American made from sustainable practices. They stand behind their products, which is evident when our three year old kitchen table had a defective leg and they replaced the entire base for us. My partner and I keep returning to R&B because it's the one store that fits both our style, has amazing quality with customer service to match! I love their products but the mask silliness has been lifted in Texas. In Texas, it's a choice to breathe your own waste and I choose not to. Unfortunately, Room & Board requires healthy people to "mask up" against their will. Rather than catering to the healthy, you are catering to the .03% that MAY get seriously ill from this flu. Shouldn't the "at risk" people be the ones forced to shop from home? What about the rest of the 99.97% of people that have no problem with the flu? Such a neat little furniture store! AND, they are dog friendly. Everyone in the store is incredibly nice and professional. Two things that really stick out to me here that put it above other furniture stores, 1. The furniture is made in the USA!! 2. If you give a designer your room measurements and layout, they will prepare a few layouts for you. We bought a bed from Room and Board and are looking forward to having it delivered soon! I anticipate a smooth delivery based on the online reviews. Parking here can be a little tricky if you come during a busy time in the area. read more

I'm so sorry that I purchased $30,000 worth of furniture from Room & Board and used their storage and delivery service. When I made my purchase a promotion was in place and I was promised that my furniture could be delivered as it came in and in as many as two deliveries if necessary, without charge. Construction on my new lake home ran late by several months. I communicated with room and board's delivery department about the delay and was told there would be no problem. All I needed to do was call them one month prior to my requested delivery date. Unfortunately delivery proved to be a nightmare. When I called to schedule delivery I was informed that deliveries would be made during a two week window and they would let me know 48 hours before my furniture would be delivered. The date that they gave me did not work as my drive way had yet to be completed. Unfortunately even though I spoke to delivery nine days before their scheduled date ,there was nothing that they could do to reschedule it to a date and time that worked for me. I spoke with my sales person and requested her help in changing the delivery date. Everyone was very sympathetic, but once they decided the date, nothing could change it. They were willing to change the delivery location. This only created more problems and expenses for me. My new purchases were delivered to my residence ( 1 1/2 hours away from my new lake house) partially assembled and placed in my garage. I then contracted with a private Dallas storage/moving company "Nice Moves" to pick the Room & Board furniture up, store it for a week, and then deliver/assemble it with other new purchases to my lake home. Room and Board sales and delivery are very separate entities although they refer to each other as partners. No one seemed to care that I was inconveniences or incurred additional expenses related to moving the furniture or assembling it. I received lip service at best. I won't be using them again and could never recommend them to anyone. read more

My husband and I purchased a sectional on December 31, 2020. We were very excited to have couches that were made in the USA! Originally, we were getting the sectional February 5, 2021. We received an email at the end of January that said due to covid our furniture would be delayed two weeks. With everything going on, my husband and I were very understanding. We scheduled our delivery for February 13, 2021 for 9-11am. This was the weekend when the snow hit Dallas ON February 14, 2021 NOT February 13. We received a phone call early in the morning 2-13 claiming the roads were bad, we would need to reschedule for the following Saturday 2-20-21. There was nothing on the ground, but, we said ok and set up a time for Saturday. I then called John (delivery warehouse) on Thursday 2-18-21 to confirm they were going to deliver the couch on Saturday. John assured me and sent me an email confirming. Saturday 2-20 rolls around, no one comes during the time frame 9-1. I call the delivery warehouse and they said, "Oh we rescheduled you to March 5." The man, Cesar commenced to laugh and say, "I guess no one called you." I laughed backed and said, "Well it's funny because you have been sitting on my money since December 31." In these times, customer service should be a priority. We found a better couch and better service at another store in Fort Worth! Very disappointed. read more

I bought the Architecture bed 10 or so years ago from R&B, and always loved it. Recently, I moved into a new house and the king size bed frame would not go up the stairs, so I had to buy another bed. Back I went to R&B, thinking the quality would be the same. The steel slats for the new bed weren't finished/capped like my old ones. In fact, they were so sharp that one would have bloody fingers and hands just trying to tuck the sheets and blankets under the mattress. I called the store, the person acted like she'd never heard this complaint before and said they sell platform boards to cover them up. So they upsell you because of their shoddy manufacturing! She said I had to take photos, of the problem, which meant I had to get the mattress off the bed, take the photos, reassemble the bed, then email the pics. I never heard back from her, was hoping for a "thank you", an "oh, my, that's terrible and I'm so sorry this happened to you and I'll definitely reach out to manufacturing....."; but I got nothing! Another associate called, I told her how unhappy I was about everything that had transpired, and all she had to offer was, "Well, I'm so happy we were able to solve this problem for you"! Really? So, buyer beware and I'm still thinking about sending everything back! read more

I just received my 2 ottomans. I ordered after selecting the grade and color of leather they sent me from the swatches. They don't match not even a little bit! I called and explained my dismay and they told me they could try and come closer if I want I send them back and start over! First of all I waited weeks to get them, which was fine if they made them to match. Second it's very difficult for an elderly person to be expected to box them up and ship them back. I recently purchased a leather sectional made in Italy and shipped to me and it all matched. I'm very disappointed in their lack of help in this situation. 2 ottomans $1000.00 later! read more

Decided to surprise my wife with an accessory table for the living room. After shopping I found table on website. I was hoping it was in stock at Dallas location but was informed all pieces needed to be ordered and shipped. Ok. Decided to order. Received a call the original delivery date would not be met. They failed to tell me pickups were at their distribution center and not the retail outlet. Almost made an uneccesary trip by thank God I called. Finally. I found time to drive to distribution center. I was expecting it in some sort of protection but the warehouse person brings out the table covered in dust and already a few minor dings on the edge clasps. I stood there thinking this is how you deliver a 500 dollar table? They said they would reorder but after waiting 20 days I returned it. Overall quality was not as depicted in website. There willingness to compensate for frustration and time was not there. Perhaps they should reduce marketing spend on all the high gloss brochures and out some money resources towards actually delivering a premium product to the customer. They could care less they lost a customer for life. read more

I recently purchased a bed and had it delivered via their white glove delivery service. I've had the bed for a week now and am happy to report the whole process was great. Jon was very helpful in the showroom walking us through the different headboard and fabric options. He offered us multiple fabric swatches and recommended we take them home to see how we liked it with our other furniture and told us to check the swatch in different lights to ensure we really liked the color. So helpful and not pushy at all. I ended up ordering the bed on the spot since I had already been poring over it for weeks. One minor hiccup was that delivery called us the day before the bed was to arrive to tell us they couldn't make it until another day after. I wasn't bothered because they notified me beforehand. The white glove service was very nice. The delivery guys were professional, polite and really took care in setting up the bed. For example, they took extra care to cut perfect squares on the inside fabric with an exacto knife where they had to screw the frame together. The area is on the inside of the bed frame and not a place that can be seen unless you are taking the bed apart but I appreciated this extra detail. All in all, an A+ experience. read more
