Really have no idea how this place has good reviews. The owner of this company is a scammer, who…read moretries to bait new homeowners into expensive repairs they do NOT need. The owner of the company was the one who came to my house and wrote up a bunch of complete BS when diagnosing my system and attempted to extort me for almost 3 thousand dollars. After doing some research and realizing NO ONE in the AC business (except for these freaks) call a capacitor a 'phase shifter', I started to come to the suspicion that I was being scammed. Yes, a capacitor does shift the phase of the current relative to the voltage in an AC circuit, and its capacitive reactance will limit current... but this guy's terminology regarding the part was used to obfuscate the actual nature of the part, which is a $30 capacitor. Here's the real rub, though: After this, I had my system tested by TWO other separate unrelated AC companies, who came to extremely similar conclusions, who each had nearly identical readings (completely different readings than what this guy showed me), both of whom told me there are no outstanding or severely pressing issues with my system. It's not leaking refrigerant, like this guy said it was, this was also big time BS. The capacitor is fine and the readings, which they helped me understand, were perfectly within normal values. Pineapple also tried to make me pay for a $900 vent (incredibly overpriced and both other companies said they could install it waaay cheaper) to place on top of the unit to improve airflow, but did not mention that it would be USELESS and WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL without my neighbor also installing one on the unit placed next to mine. He said "try to convince your neighbor", and then went ahead and put a $900 vent on the quote, as if me convincing my neighbor to install a $900 vent was some kind of guarantee. Glaring oversight, stupidity, or complete racketeering? You decide! If you read this far and still choose this place, you are some kind of masochist who likes to waste hard earned money on swindlers.

Months later that darn A/C began leaking coolant rapidly. Again, he came out the same day I called and worked into the dark of night. None of it was necessary. After having the capacitor replaced, the air conditioning started working fine again, but one of the zones in our home stopped working. You can no longer control the downstairs bedroom with the wall thermostat in that room. We've had to keep that one off And let the thermostat in the other room control the downstairs area. I called back to let them know that whatever the work they did created an additional problem. They scheduled to have the same technician come out.(Andrew). He called me to ask what was going on and I let him know what was going on and he became very defensive and said it was a coincidence that when he came and messed with everything that the other zone was no longer working. Claimed there's no way that he damages the zones. I told him it definitely wasn't a coincidence and we've never had that issue until he finished his work. He said if he had to come back out, he's gonna charge me another service fee & additional fees to fix it. I let him know to not bother coming. We'll just go with a company that stands behind their work.

Its unfortunate I feel compelled to write this review update. I had Rusty's visit my parents house…read moretoday since the external unit was making some noise on shut down, and given how great they were in 2023 when I needed them, it seemed like a no brainer. Nothing was declared wrong with their unit besides the LRA being higher than normal. (Apparently reading 129 when the rec on the unit is 120). So when I arrived the young tech was attempting to upsell my father on Compressor protection to solve this at a cost of $600, and stating to both of us at that time that the issue would only get worse and the compressor was the most expensive part of the unit to replace if it goes out (correct). He said $600 was cheaper than a compressor replacement (also correct). After some basic research I realized they were being upsold. Sure protection is good, But if your unit is already covering most of the bases a protector would, then why install one? The upsell statement was.... "Without this your unit will be unprotected and your LRV values are only going to continue to get worse, compressors are thousands to replace" It felt like doom tactics and for a second in my mind I was like, we should just do this. I took a photo of my units information and serial, threw it in to chat GPT. It told me the following about my unit. " What you have Brand: Lennox Model: ML17XP1-048-230A01 Type: Heat pump (not just AC) Size: 4 ton system Refrigerant: R-410A Voltage: 208/230V system (not 120V)" " Does your system already have protection? Yes--your Lennox ML17 series includes: Internal compressor overload protection Anti-short-cycle delay (via thermostat/control board) Standard electrical safeguards required by code So you already have basic built-in protection " I cross referenced this with the manual too. So maybe he meant "Compressor saver"? Like a hard start kit, who knows I'm not an AC tech, back to the internet. Well looks like my unit does not need or benefit from this since its only 2-3 years old and our capacitor was almost on point with the expected readout so starting was likely not an issue. I also saw that 129 was still within the expected +/- 10% tolerance even if on the higher side. So in a nutshell I am disappointed with the outcome here. I understand a bit of salesmanship is required for a successful biz, but $600 of not required add-ons for a unit that has most of it already doesn't feel honest. Not to mention that feedback online was to expect to pay $350-450 and that $600 and above was considered very expensive. And lets say I am totally off the mark here and my research is off, then in that case the young tech seriously failed to explain in detail about the topic. The tech that visited me in 2023 was so knowledgable and at no point did I feel like I was being upsold on things I didn't need. There was a trust bond there almost immediately with that guy. I went back to read reviews and saw that the same has happened to some of your other customers (Quincy . R from literally 2 weeks ago) Your biz was EXCELLENT! I raved about you guys to my neighbors in the past. Some of them even booked you. I know you guys are better than this. Sadly i'll have to take my biz and recommendations else where from here on.
