We explained what the problem was with our washing machine before they came. The guy showed up and looked at it for 1 minute and immediately said the grinding and loud noise means the washing machine is done and would cost just as much to buy a new machine. So we paid $125 for someone to come and immediately say it's not worth fixing. I think they knew ahead of time it wasn't worth fixing but sent someone out anyway and took our money. Just didn't sit right with us. On another note the tech that came out was very nice and explained the situation. We just feel robbed. read more

Our LED board light went out in our fridge. Called and ordered a new one since we were still getting power to the plug. The new board did not work as well so we called Thomas Home Services. They were nice on the phone, stated they would charge us a tech call fee to come out and determine what the issue was which is understandable. They stated after they figure out what the problem is, they would apply the $125 service call to the bill if we moved forward with the repairs. After the service guy came out, which he was very nice and knowledgeable, he stated it was the 2 small switches in front and our transformer underneath. Stated it was $680 - $125 for everything. We agreed but they stated they had to order the parts and they would come back the following week around Tuesday. Tuesday came and we did not hear from them. I called them on Wednesday and they stated the parts came in and would have someone call me. Again, another day went by and no one called. I had to call back in where they told me they could not come out until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and would put us on the 1st stop at 8am. We scheduled for Tuesday. 8:20am came by and no word. I called and asked if someone was coming and the lady stated the service guy had to stop by the parts store to pickup the parts and then would head our way. The guy finally showed up at 8:45am. Mind you, I was advised the previous week by 2 people the parts were in and they already had them on hand. After the service guy installed the 2 switches which took about 10 -15 min, he started on the transformer. After we swapped out the transformer, he proceeded to advise us that it was not the transformer but most likely something with the internal wiring and they would have to pull the built in fridge out and start to tear things apart to find out where the break in the wire was bad. We did not want to spend the money on that. They ended up billing us $400 for 2 switches. I spoke to the manager and he stated they don't charge by the hour, just what the billing time states for the parts. I asked him for a breakdown of labor and parts and he stated they don't do invoices that way. I would assume it is THEIR way of covering all the labor they did on our fridge for something that did not need to be replaced which they misdiagnosed from the beginning. Now, here comes more horrible service: I looked under the fridge to see how things were put back as I had a bad feeling after what they did on the above. The service guy only put 1 screw back on to hold the cover plate. He did not put the other 2 screws on. After I took the cover plate off, the service guy did not put the transformer cover back on as well. He shoved it back under the fridge and put all the screws under the fridge laying on the ground. Every time you call this place, they asked you how they can put a smile on your face. What a joke. I would never use this company nor recommend them. They did not finish the job and wasted our time/money. read more

I was replacing a sink faucet and the faucet nut was stripped underneath, had to call these guys. The guy showed up, preformed the task I had requested timely, and was out the door. The service was exactly what I asked for and received. The guy accidentally broke my soap dispenser, but I blame myself more for not moving it before he got there. I returned from a vacation to find my upstairs Goodman air conditioning unit was not blowing cool air. This was a big deal given the record heat wave. I am a big-time researcher when it comes to anything I purchase so the clock was ticking. So I first went to Yelp to find a highly rated company and assess the issue. That technician with two decades of experience said I had to replace the whole unit (Starting at $10K up to $16K) because it was a freon leak and even though he couldn't find it, it would likely happen again with a repair. FORTUNATELY I got a second opinion from a neighbor who recommended Thomas. Their technician, Riley, came out immediately and actually took the time to find the actual leak. He said there was no evidence of the prior technician opening some of the key panels of the evaporator unit in my attic to find the root cause. Riley was friendly and professional and spent 30 minutes in the heat of the attic to find the location of the freon leak and he shoed me a video and images. He then gave me 3 options and then shared candidly which option he would take and why. To my surprise the option he recommended was not the most profitable one for the company, it was to switch out a component and their labor and the component would be under warranty. His solution cost me $7,000 less than the alternative of getting a new unit! His team arrived the next day, they laid out a tarp and got to work. 6 hours later my house was blowing cold air and the upstairs was starting to cool down. I just wanted to say that I appreciate the integrity of any family business that puts the customer first and does not just push their employees to make the biggest sale but rather has them do the right thing as if they were spending their own money.
