Finally got to visit them yesterday and I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to grab a great craft beer on the West Side. It was the weekend of my Dad's birthday and we wanted something fun to do that was family friendly. So we grabbed some LaRosa's pizza and headed to West Side. We parked behind the funeral home next door which had signs letting us know we could. When you walk in, the bar is immediately in front of you with large spaces on either side that had tables. A Jazzercise class had just ended so it was fairly busy (more on special events later). We migrated to the left and found a few tables that could hold our entire group. There are a mix of high and low tables, a ton of TVs, games, and darts on this side of the space. After exploring, I found giant Jenga, indoor corn hole, more seating and a private party room on the other side. Bathroom sit between the two sides. I found the layout to be really nice. We grabbed some flights and enjoyed football, pizza and craft beer. The beer was really good. My favorite was the Double IPA. I also enjoyed the Hefeweizen and the ESB. At West Side Brewing, they do not have gimmicky names. Instead, they call it what the style is; this makes ordering really easy. In addition to their own beer, they have a handful of taps dedicated to other breweries, wine and some liquor. So there is something for everyone. And on Sundays, they do Family Funday Sunday. This means free rootbeer for the kids, $1 root beer floats and $3 stout floats. This definitely added to the appeal of visiting and the experience. On the wall off to the left side of the bar, there is an enormous calendar. Here they list all of their special events and there was something on every day. They are truly focused on providing a complete experience when you visit. It's about more than just the beer; it's about providing a place for community and it shows. Heads Up: They are dog friendly on Wednesday nights. For some, this is great while others it will be a night they want to avoid. Beer isn't anything special. Was there for an after funeral celebration of life. Beers were kinda pricey and soft drinks were $2 for about 8 oz and no refills. They were making a killing on a Monday afternoon. Pretty sure they could have given free refills. Also only had 1 bartender. Everyone else walked around like they were too important. My 2nd bad experience there. Last was during COVID and was scolded for stoping at a table to say hi to someone. read more

The west side really needed a place like this...a modern space and good, quality beer. My favorite was the Pale Ale but we did a flight and they were all really good. They also have wine, cider, soda and limited liquor available. Both times we were there they had food trucks parked outside. Parking is available on the surrounding streets or in a couple of public lots nearby. There is a private party room available for events, along with corn hole, jenga and darts. Update: a lot of the earlier reviews complained about the noise level and lack of parking. They have since added noise dampening panels and parking - great job listening to the negatives and fixing them. It's MUCH quieter in there now (not quiet per day but not so loud you want to leave). The interior of the space was really nice and streamlined. Very family and pet friendly as with most tap rooms. the food menu was even interesting. We ordered a few light bites and watched a screen after a day of canoeing. We pretty much liked everything but the beer. I ordered two flights with different beers and there was only one that I actually liked. It was a bit of a let down but the thing about beer is no matter how it tastes, it always works!... So down the hatch they went. I'm not sure I'll visit which sucks because its 5 minutes from my house. Maybe, I will wait until the beers hey have currently cycle out and give them another try. Love West Side Brewing! We moved to Westwood in 2020 and it's been one of our favorite spots to visit. They always have events and food trucks, and on Wednesdays you can bring your dog(s). In the summertime, they have seating across the street next to town hall which is nice. My absolute favorite beer of theirs is the Pilsner which is (sadly!) seasonal. I wish they would have it all year around. It's very difficult to find a pilsner that has that unique Czech pilsner taste ... I'm not an aficionado so I don't know which ingredient it comes from but think of Pilsner Urquell if you've had that. Anyway, great spot and nice people! read more

I was in there Saturday. The regulars think they own the place. Got yelled at by one for smoking outside. Told him to mind his own business. The beer tasted like hose water and the bartenders were rude and nasty. Spend your money elsewhere. They are over policing the mask issue. read more

Love this place. It is a microbrewery that brews normal, boring tasty beer. So many microbreweries feel the urge to adulterate their beer with every imaginable flavor and add in and these guys just make a good BORING and FLAVORFUL beer. Worth your time to swing by. read more

The beers are OK, but the service is atrocious. There is a bartender named Chris that is surly that is just awful. It's a shame, because some of the beers are decent. Common is bad, the ipas are l clean but just somehow an outlier of blandness. How is that even possible? Boldly bland. Anyway, give it a shot if you feel like paying $7 for beers that cost the company less than 50 cents to make and be treated rudely. read more

Great place to have a birthday party for adults. There were 3 40 year old party's our night. They have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy yourself. They also have a great selection of beers on tap to where you will not get board as the night goes on. I rarely go to the west side of town, but my husband wanted to come here on a gloomy Saturday. He and I have different tastes when it comes to beer, but we both agree that going for local craft beer is a win win all around. Supporting local businesses, getting delicious beverages, seeing other parts of the hometown where we live. We got a flight of 4. I got the hefeweizen, common, and winter warmer. My husband got the bock and a pint of stout. I am a HUGE fan of hefeweizens, and this one was no exception. It is my favorite of today's choices. I liked the common, but just slightly hoppy for me. I also enjoyed the winter warmer, but I'll stick with the hefeweizen. The bartender was very welcoming and informative and over all a wonderful woman to be in charge on an early Saturday afternoon. read more

West Side Brewing is a pretty big brewery. The inside is very spacious along with the fact that the actually brewery is inside in its own section. It's huge on the inside. I believe they do events on certain nights (i.e. football watch night, karaoke, etc.). They also have plenty of beer. I am not a beer drinker but they have a few other drinks. I went for a fundraising event with my neighbors. The staff is very nice but my main complaint was the night I went they were out of quite a few drinks. I wanted wine but they didn't have the wine I wanted. They also do not have food and you have to either eat before you come or order from surrounding food places. The good thing is on certain nights they have food trucks. The day I went I had a pulled pork sandwich and Lays Potato Chips from Smokin' Inferno. The sandwich was very good and the pork was tender and flavorful. Since they were out of wine I tried a beer cocktail they had this night. It was a Pineapple Mule with beer in it. It started off good (my first few sips) but after the first few the true beer flavor kicked in. Again I'm not a beer drinker so I quit drinking it. Basically I wasted the drink but it was bought for a good cause (again I went for a fundraiser). I will say if you are truly a beer drinker, I believe you'd like this spot. We love coming to West Side Brewing - especially on Wednesday nights as that is Dog Night! We love to go out with our very well behaved pups and there are lots of options in the summer, but not so much in the winter so this is perfect for us. And they have treats for the pups :) The space is open & clean and they have board games as well as giant jenga along with sports on the TVs. Food is provided by food trucks (when they show up) and is good, but if the trucks don't show there is a Subway down the street so just check before you come. Besides their own beer they also serve other local beers, but I make it a point to have the ones made by them. The Hefeweizen and Common Ale are both really good, but my husband prefers the Double IPA. West Side Brewing is our official weeknight date night with the pups on Wednesdays! read more

This place has only been opened for a couple of weeks so I will give them a break and give them 3 stars. There is no table service so you stand in line and wait .... and wait. It took us 20 minutes to get a beer. Our friends came later and they waited 20 minutes. Needless to say we only stayed for one. I really want to like this brewery. It is a really fun hang-out, and I love coming here with my family and neighbors, as it is nearly around the corner from us. But most of their beers are definitely mediocre, not very flavorful or "special", just very plain. Sometimes they'll have something that is a bit fruity or has a but of a different taste, but they generally go pretty quickly or are seasonal. Despite this, they have lots of events and food trucks nearly every night of the week. The service is good and bartenders are very nice, and it is pet-friendly! But be wary when going here and where you park, as the neighborhood is extremely awful and has a very high crime rate, and, unfortunately, their parking lot is small and often completely full. read more

It was clear from the moment that our group entered this brewery that they did not want our business or anyone's for that matter. They were short with customers and downright nasty about the way they enforced their covid rules. I would not return until the pandemic is over and maybe they can lighten up a bit. The vibe here is very relaxed. Dogs are allowed on Wednesdays and a giant calendar is posted on the wall detailing their events for the month. I've been here before and enjoyed the beers very much. This was my first trip back since they've reopened due to Covid 19. The windows are open, a number of tables have been removed to allow social distancing, and they still get the food trucks. You have to stay seated, and they will come around to see when you need another beer. On Thursday 6/4 they had the Big Dogg BBQ truck out front, which was outstanding. West Side has a varied selection of excellent beers, and you can buy 6-packs to go. I definitely recommend! read more

We've been waiting for a brewery on the west side for a long time, so when I heard this was in development a few years ago I was beyond excited; finally, a brewery I wouldn't have to drive a half hour or more to get to! We made the short journey over to our new watering hole and I couldn't be more happy with it. I haven't had a beer I don't like yet. I've had the Common Ale, which is luckily available at establishments across the west side including Chandler's Burger Bistro, O'Charley's, and many west side catholic school festivals that I've been to so far this year. I've tried the West Side Cerveza, Honey Blonde Ale, Session IPA, and Double IPA. They're all good. Really good. The atmosphere is relaxed and the floor plan is great with architecture that wraps around the corner building creating a large amount of room, without making the space feel too open or exposed. I love it here, the beer is great (my personal favorite is their ESB, but I've liked everything I have tried), and the people who work here are SO friendly. It's a great place to hang out with friends, the atmosphere is cozy and fun, and there are games like cornhole to play.
