Really cool local pizza and brewery. Both pizza and the beers we tried were very good. Loved the friendly, neighborhood vibe.

We started the night off with a 16" Cornerstone, a 10" Vegan Vibes, a 10" Rebel Ranch, and a Fire Bites. I took photos of none of those. The Cornerstone is essentially a pepperoni pizza. It's very hard to mess up a pepperoni pizza and what they served was quite yummy. Hot (temperature wise), but yum! The Vegan Vibes is a red sauce with vegan pepperoni, baby spinach, banana peppers, mushrooms, and vegan shredded cheese. I was quite pleased with how it tasted. Some vegan meat substitutes can be a bit crumbly or rubbery and some vegan cheese simply just won't melt. This was good and made me feel good that I was eating foods kind to the animals and to the earth! The Rebel Ranch is a garlic butter sauce with chicken, bacon, four cheese, white cheddar, scallion, and ranch. This was FANTASTIC. The whole table loved this pizza and thought it was wonderful...which is why we ended up getting a 16" of it too (which is pictured)! The Fire Bites are a peppadew pepper filled with basil and goat cheese. A friend recommended we get these and they were delicious!! We love west side! The addition of catch a fire pizza is welcome and delicious! I've helped coordinate several staff Christmas parties at this location and it's a great spot to hangout in Westwood - even if you're not a drinker! We went here for a date night which was nice. The pizza at Catch a fire was so delicious! The drinks were good but a little on the expensive side. One drink I had which was a fizz drink was not that good, but that was because they have to get the nitrogen machine to work. It tasted very chemically. They refunded my money right away for that drink, so that made for great service. Also it can get a bit crowded so you would want to come before 5pm on a Friday night if you want a seat. This is a cool brewery to visit if you are in the Cincinnati area. We really liked the space and there is a lot of different rooms and areas of seating. We ordered a small Cornerstone pizza at Catch-a-Fire Pizza inside the brewery then went over to the bar to see what beer we wanted with it. I ordered the Hefeweizen and my husband opted for the Octoberfest. We also split a Festbier, which was excellent. The pizza only took about 10 minutes or so and was delicious. The small was the perfect size for the two of us. The service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again. read more

Great setting in Westside. Great brew offerings and an awesome pizzeria makes this a family favorite. Pizza takes a little time to be made but well worth the taste. They use quality ingredients and it adds up to the best pizza I've found in the area. They don't have as many IPA brew selections as I would like, but have always had real good beer there. I haven't visited many local breweries since they started popping up about 10yrs ago. Now I can't even keep track of all of them, and what's good and what's average. I tried most of the brews packaged from any store that stocked the local beers. West Side Brewery is not one of my favorites, but they are still really good, just personal preference. This brewery is cool with great ambiance inside. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My only reservations about my experience is that the beers were served not so cold. It almost needed an ice cube to satisfy my needs. Other than difficulty parking during peak times, West Side is still a shining star in an up and coming community. read more

Rotating menu of events visitors may happen upon yoga, trivia, calligraphy or a comedy show, just to name a few. The taproom is a decent-sized building with private seating in the back for parties. One fun feature is the large windows with bar-height stools along the outside, perfect for people watching - on both sides. The brewery doesn't offer food trucks anymore, but they do have pizza! Soon you will people watch from above, when the rooftop bar is open. Enjoy your ale, IPA, mixed drink, wine or soda. Partake of cider or get your growler fills on here. Parking is behind the brewery, on the street, or the lot at Harrison & Urwiler is $2, but the parking receipt earns you $2 off a beer (cha-ching!). Like many breweries today, expect to see families and children. From 9:30-11 (12 Friday and Saturday) the brewery is adult only. I expect the rooftop will remain 21+ at all times. During busy hours, the line at the bar can get fairly long, but staff is efficient and the crowd is pretty laid back. read more

My review is based on the events only since I haven't tried their beverages. I've been here before for an engagement party and a painting class (final result pictured) and it's a great place to hold an event. Previously, food trucks would frequent this brewery but now Catch-a-Fire pizza has established permanent residency. The food there is delicious addition to the events located here. The painting class was one of the many fun events they host in addition to trivia nights and other crafty hobbies. read more

Breweries are often family friendly atmospheres- but we did not experience that tonight. I have been to west side several times and am always left with a passive feeling- take it or leave it- really just there for the people I'm meeting up with. But tonight was bad- we bought ice cream next door for our three year old and was swiftly told he couldn't eat it (no outside food allowed) after we had ordered three pizzas and five beers at west side. So we then had to stand outside for my son to eat it. We were confused because the table next to us had a birthday cake- and that was allowed. Apparently because they had a reservation and we didn't. Felt weird to me. The pizza was awful, the wings were great, and the beer is very okay. Nothing special. Only ONE con to this place, you can't reserve a table in advance. However, the GOOD NEWS is that the tables turn over pretty well so you'll get in AND you can grab a drink and hang on the sidewalk while you wait. I just love this place. I've been here for fundraisers, a pilates mat class, to watch games, and to just meet friends for drinks. It's a large space with an opening atmosphere and most importantly, they have terrific beers. There are tons of breweries in town, but West Side Brewing actually brews outstanding beers - and has an incredible variety - usually 20 taps running at any given time. Not into beer? Grab a glass of wine instead. They have a few available. Food is via a food truck or you can order carry out from Nation Westwood or the fancier Ivory House - both within a quick walk. Parking is VERY limited, so you will likely find yourself parking on the street, but they do have a small lot behind the funeral home next door. They used to have larger communal tables, but in a COVID world, they limit a table to 10 people and inside, you must be seated at a table to drink, thus keeping the numbers manageable and safe for customers and employees. They clean the tables well between people too and enforce the table list so you can't steal a table from someone else waiting. We were here a few weeks ago on a Friday night. St Catharine of Sienna was doing their fish fry (which many parishes have struggled with in COVIDworld, so it was a nice change. They had fried fish, but also fish tacos, which made me super happy since I'm not into fish sandwiches. Again though, the food is always different since they have food trucks. The schedule is usually on their website. In the summer, they have "annexed" a patio in the courtyard across the street at the Westwood Town Hall. So you can order drinks out there too - which is amazing. I look forward to many more nights (and afternoons) at West Side Brewing. read more

We had a blast hanging out inside West Side Brewing with our dog. The brewery is huge with ample seating for large to small groups. We were quick to snag the couch in the back of the brewery. They do not offer a full food menu however they do offer some snacks to enjoy with their delicious beer. They offer all styles of beer plus wine, liquor, cider and non alcoholic drinks for non beer lovers. We ordered a flight of beer each. We loved each beer! The staff was helpful and so knowledgeable. We purchased some beers to go. What a cool place. They even had a vendor selling dog treats. We will be back! read more

I never venture to the West Side and with all of the brewery offerings around Cincy it would take a lot to get me back, but the hominess of this place is worth it. Came here for a team event and had a blast! Lots of beer offerings, but cider and liquor additions for those that don't drink it. My favorite was the limoncello cider, it's not made in house, but it's delicious. Also, they have limited food offerings, but Uber Eats delivers from a lot of local favorites so totally partake. They have a dedicated parking lot and lots of space so make sure you add this to your brewery tour destinations! read more

How have I never reviewed this place? It's probably the brewery I get to most often! It's not too far from me and the beer is great. Lots of ales which I prefer to an abundance of IPAs which you find other places. Beers are solid quality, the space is nice. Great on a beautiful day! Dogs abound on Weds. and it's full of locals. Since my review a few years ago, West Side brewing has branched out in the types of beer they create. They now brew flavored beers on top of more traditional favorites. The rest of the review I previously wrote still stands. I highly recommend checking their online presence before you go. There is limited parking, and if half of the brewery is rented out for a private party the lower half can get packed! They also have special promotions, food trucks and what not listed. Sometimes it's worth waiting a night or two to check out one of their events. read more

Glad my boyfriend and I were able to check this place out. What I love about West Side Brewing is the selections of their beers are simple and menu is not overwhelming. Inside it's very open and spacious with nice lighting. We wanted to do a flight which is only $1.75 (taster size) and the their pricing is very reasonable. We did the flight: Hefeweisen Amber ale IPA Stout My favorite was their Hefeweisen and the Stout. Stout was full bodied coffee flavored taste with a hint of chocolate. The hefeweisen was crisp and smooth. They also have guest craft beers if you want to try more variety. They do have snacks (chips, nuts etc) if you get hungry. I visited West Side Brewing with my family for the first time this past weekend. We stopped in for a drink and to see the new location while out celebrating my dad's birthday. I tried their heffeweizen and was very pleased with the flavor. It was perfect for a summer afternoon. It was a light beer, but was still flavorful. The atmosphere was very fun. I loved the windows being open to the street. A food truck was parked out front, so you could buy some food and bring it inside. On my mid-Saturday afternoon visit there was plenty of seating available. I noticed the options to play life-size Jenga, as well as cornhole. We did not play either, but it is good to keep in mind for future visits. The biggest drawback I would say was the noise level. It was very loud, which made it difficult for us to carry on a conversation among our small group. It was not even super crowded, so I can't imagine the volume level on a Saturday night! I had very limited interactions with the staff, seeing as I only ordered the one beer, but they were very friendly. I'm excited to see a brewery on the West Side, it's great to have a new option for something to do on that side of town! read more

The space reminded me of a smaller Rhinegesit, with picnic tables, cornhole, and an old warehouse feel (but I don't think the venue is old at all). I had read a food truck schedule before going, but for some reason the food truck wasn't available like it said it would be.
