I have officially found my new eyewear store in Chicago! To say West Loop Eye Care has excellent customer service is an understatement. I walked into the store in search of a particular pair of Chanel optical frames I had my eye on (on their online website). I previously went to a different Chanel carrier in the city, and had a terrible experience (after paying 400+ dollars for my glasses, I could not see out of them). West Loop Eye Care carried the frames I wanted, but unfortunately did not have the color I wanted. Matt was extremely kind and helpful, and not pushy at all. Other retailers push you to try the frames they already have, but Matt did not AT ALL. He knew I had a particular frame in mind and did his best to accommodate me. Matt said he would be able to order the frames directly from Chanel. I decided to purchase the frames + lenses, and with my insurance -- it came out to a reasonable price for my power (approximately -5.00 for both eyes), with high index lenses, and with a coating to protect from blue light (since I like many others stare a screen all day). After two days, Matt called and profusely apologized saying Chanel stopped selling the particular frame I wanted in the US. The lenses even disappeared off their website. I could tell Matt genuinely felt SO bad (to no fault of his own). I completely understood, and I appreciated him calling me as soon as he found out. Chanel had released a new line of frames on their website, and I found a pair I thought I might like. Luckily, Matt said they just got that frame in 2 days prior! I had been wearing my old glasses, and since my eye sight is terrible, it was difficult for me to see how the frames fit. Matt said he had contact lenses for me to wear while I try on frames! He even gave a free sample of the lenses to go home with! I ended up really liking the frames -- there were two versions, with a high nose bridge and low nose bridge. The frames were similar, but fit slightly differently. I couldn't decide which one I liked better, and Matt was very patient with me. I ended up choosing the high bridge frame, but Matt kindly offered that if I wanted to switch to the low bridge frames, I could do so within 30 days. He would order the low bridge frames, and would swap out my lenses at no cost. He truly wanted me to absolutely happy with my frames, and wanted me to feel confident in my purchase. I really appreciated how much he wanted me to truly love the frames I got. Exactly one week later, my new glasses came in, and they were GORGEOUS! I loved the frames, the lenses felt high quality, and my vision was very clear with them. Since the frames came in one day before the shelter-in-place was initiated, the store was quite crowded with people picking up their frames. Nonetheless, the other staff helped adjust my frames so that the fit was perfect. I am still deciding whether I like the high bridge or low bridge versions, but I feel reassured that I could call them and switch if needed. I've gotten so many compliments on my new frames! It's been a long road finding a new pair of frames that I love, and I am so happy I chose West Loop Eye Care. Matt really cares about the products he sells, and he really does everything in his power to make sure everyone is happy with their glasses at the end of the day! I've never written a review but had to change that since my experience here was so great! Dr. Shah and her staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and take the time to listen to you. I felt very safe and was seen right away. I made the appointment yesterday and got booked very quickly! I didn't catch the names of the two people helping me at the front and with my work up, but they were great as well :) Matt is really bright and uplifting and Dr. Shah had a similarly caring, compassionate bedside manner. Bree helped me walk through my visit's billing and insurance and was very thorough, so I knew exactly what to expect. Also, they take CareCredit! I've been going here for the past three years and everyone at West Loop is incredibly helpful and flexible when scheduling your eye appointment, and they actually check and confirm they accept your insurance before you come in. I primarily wear daily contacts, and have found their prices to be the same or cheaper than online outlets, and will help you get any rebates/discounts that may apply. Dr. Kamenetsky explained everything perfectly for my first time at the eye doctor in more than a decade. I finished my appointment with Fernando who showed sat me down first to explain how my insurance worked and what it covered. He broke down the cost of the visit, frames and lenses BEFORE he even showed me frames. I loved how he showed me multiple pair in several price ranges which was helpful and not pushy at all!!! After scouting places that were closer to my house than the 45 minutes I was driving to see my eye doctor, I happened upon West Loop Eye Care (thanks yelp!) and couldn't be happier with the decision to head over. My husband and I bought some cool frames from Labrabbit Optics and needed an eye exam in order to purchase lenses with our insurance plan. The staff was amazing--professional, warm, knowledgeable--and was able to schedule us the same day I called for an appointment. At our previous place, we would have to schedule at least a week out and then ended up waiting at least half an hour before being seen by the doctor. Here, we were able to go into the examining room (spacious, exposed brick, clean and cool) together right away, hence saving time. The doctor was very laid back, indicating that my prescription was in fact too strong (!) and my husband's floaters were nothing to be concerned about. He answered all our questions patiently and competently. The vibe of the place and everyone involved is very welcoming and warm; the exam was easy and well-explained; the insurance coverage and payment were thoroughly and thoughtfully expressed. Turns out they offer a 20% discount on sunglasses--bonus! Only somewhat confusing part--there are no signs out front and the place is tucked back into a parking lot. Looks more like the entrance to a condo than a business. They need more signage out front if they're going to attract new clientele. However, if you look for the address and not the (lack of a) business sign, you'll have no problem finding it. They're on the third floor and are next to a dentist, don't let that confuse you. read more

West Loop Eye Care is wonderful! They are COVID proofing. So here is a rundown of what to expect. You can make your appointments online, which I love. They take pretty much all vision insurance, but you can call or email if you have questions. Once you schedule your appointment, they will send you a couple emails. One confirming the appointment, the second with a list of documents you need to scan or take a picture and email back. The list includes: vision insurance, medical insurance, driver's license, COVID form, and a HIPAA form. Once they receive all the documents, you are good to go to your appointment. You are greeted by a wonderful assistant. She makes sure all your documents are there, will get your prescription from your glasses or contacts and asks some preliminary questions. She also does the temperature check and gives you sanitizer. Then you are brought to the back. The doctor is very helpful and thoughtful. I had Dr. Shah and she is really nice and walks you through the test. They are constantly changing the prompts so you can't "cheat" which is really nice to ensure that you can actually see or not. Once the appointment is over, the sales reps for the glasses and contacts are super nice. They walk you through what your insurance covers and shows you options for glasses. I really enjoyed my experience here and I can't wait to pick up my contacts and select some new glasses. read more

Decided to try out West Loop Eye Care since they're so close to my home. Scheduled an appointment online and came in on 06/02/2018. The eye exam was a breeze and I was able to pick new frames right away. Fernando and the other optician were super helpful and kind. I ended up with a perfect pair of sturdy SALT glasses, which only took 1.5 days to arrive in store. Prices for eye exam and new lenses are standard here (also depends on your insurance). Couldn't be happier. Give this place a try. The doctor and opticians are easy to get along with and are not pushy at all. Will definitely be back for routine eye exams and new frames. read more

I have visited twice in the past few years and have seen two different optometrists, both equally knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. I went to the Crown Point, IN location and saw Dr. Boldus. The facility is stunning and makes you feel comfortable. Very clean. The staff was amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. I choose this eye doctor because they had food reviews and those reviews were not lies. I have been having an issue with my eyes and contacts that America's Best and VisionWorks not once could even mention. As well as using a contact brand that was outdated and sold to me purely for the sale. Here at Vision Boutique, the Dr right away knew what was wrong just by my description and then he confirmed it after looking at my eyes. He then recommended me multiple brands of contacts with NO push on a particular brand. He helped me find the very best and most comfortable contacts for my particular eye problem.
