Everyone at West Loop Eye Care was incredibly friendly and helpful. I saw Dr. Shah for my visit and she was professional and warm. While I was waiting for my eyes to dilate, Lynette helped me pick out a new pair of glasses. She was equally as professional and warm and asked me questions to figure out what style I was looking for and we picked a pair in no time. I know there are many online retailers that sell discount glasses, but the quality is not the same as an in person fitting and appointment. I also greatly appreciated that they limited the number of people in the office and it was clear that they were keeping customers' (and their employees!) safety in mind. Will absolutely be back! read more

Came here as a new patient last month. Overall it was a great experience. Easy to schedule an appointment, the staff was super friendly, and the place was very nice and conveniently located in the heart of the West Loop. Dr. Nelly Kamenetsky was very nice, helpful, and efficient with my appointments. Matt from the sales team was really helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I peppered him with questions about the various deals / products he pitched me and he knew all the answers. Overall, great experience and I look forward to being a customer there in the future. I had a wonderful experience at west loop eye care for both updating my prescriptions as well as picking out new frames. As soon as I walked in the door and was greeted by Brianna, Matt, and Dominique I knew I was going to have an exceptional experience. They were all welcoming, friendly, and helpful right off the bat. Brianna was so attentive in helping me pick out new frames and was not pushy whatsoever. She helped me find the best fit for my face shape and overall look I was aiming for. Matt also provided great input and help and was so warm and friendly! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area! read more

They have great glasses and I generally can get an exam time when I need it but it's definitely one of the pricier places out there and they really don't work with you if you run into an issue. For example, I have a special prescription for my reading glasses. I'm also a finance attorney so I need my glasses to work. I had huge timing issues when I first ordered my glasses. When I complained, they blamed the fact that it was around the holidays and I moved on. More recently, I scratched one of my lenses right in my line of sight. When I called to get the lenses replaced, they first told me they couldn't do anything without me bringing my glasses in because they need to cut the lenses to fit the frame. I then suggested that they probably still had the same frame in the office and they said they could do it but that it would take 7-10 days. I asked if there was any way they could speed it up and they said they would see what they could do and keep me updated. I just called, 4 days later to ask for a status update. I have had a horrible headache all week from staring at this scratch. They didn't even bother to try to work with me to figure out a solution. They didn't offer to check on status they just said "we don't have them" when I asked if they had any status update for me, "No." Long story short, if you need to get in for a quick eye exam, you don't have a complicated prescription and you don't care about customer service, this place has really cute designer frames. If you have a great optometrist that doesn't have the above issues, please message me or comment here! This headache is killing me * I just want to update my review to say that I went back to get my glasses lenses replaced when they came in and wanted to give this place a second chance so when they offered a discount to make me a spare set of glasses, I took them up on it. It's been weeks and I don't have said glasses... no one has called to tell me why they are late. Definitely done with this place. read more

I started straining to read the computer so I ended up trying West Loop Eye Care. Overall I highly recommend - great service and the eye exam was super quick and easy. Dr. Scott was super helpful and answered all of my questions (as this was my first eye exam), and Lynette helped me pick out some really cool Tom Ford shades (with blue light filters!). read more

I love getting my eyes checked out here! Fernando and Matt are the sweetest people you'll ever meet (seriously, they'll make your day 1000x better). They walk you through every detail of your insurance, no pressure to purchase, just happy conversation. I was seen by the doctor in 5 minutes and offered beverages. The doctors are nice, quick and very helpful. What more could a girl ask for? read more

Scheduling an appointment online was very easy and they had several convenient, weekend openings. Overall it was a great experience. I just walked in to make a future appointment, but also to have some sunglasses adjusted. Greg was helping me and I cannot recommend this place enough. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and adjusted three of my loved sunnies perfectly. I will definitely be purchasing my future sunglasses here in the future, solely based on the A+ customer service I received. Thank you Greg! read more

I can't speak highly enough about my experience at West Loop Eye Care. I had never gotten my eyes checked before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was impressed with the waiting room time (very little) and each staff member was kind and helpful. They also did a great job ensuring the safe and health of visitors, checking temperatures at the door and sanitizing machines/glasses, etc. I met with Dr. Shah who was incredibly personable and took the time to explain things to me. Turns out I did need a prescription. I liked that I didn't feel forced into doing anything (getting glasses on the spot), but that I could have fun trying some glasses on. She passed me over to Greg who was extremely knowledgeable about insurance plans/coverage and made it very easy for me when I (unexpectedly) fell in love with a pair of glasses. He and Matt made me feel like I was on a runway doing a fashion show with all of the glasses! When I recently went to pick up my glasses I was met with the same warmth from Matt and provided expert care. If you're looking for an eye doctor who cares about you -- this is your place! read more

This was the first eye appointment that I booked for myself, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and knowledge of the doctors. They took several covid precautions, including sanitizing all equipment, wearing masks, and requiring a form beforehand. Dr. Namrata found my contacts and glasses prescription and now I can see even more clearly! Just keep in mind that the appointment cost is divided to a contacts and glasses portion, so be sure to check what your insurance covers beforehand. Overall all the staff were really patient and thoughtful, and I had a great experience. read more

I've been going to West Loop Eye Care for the past 10 years. At this point I've seen most of the doctors and they're all excellent. I've also been helped by Matt many times and he is just so lovely. While visiting Chicago, I found myself urgently needing a new pair of glasses. West Loop came highly recommended by my family. So grateful I went there. Dr. Margaret was so kind, and Matt was so helpful in choosing my frames and helping me with my insurance. There were soooo many Frame options. The staff was so patient with me while I went back and forth. Knowing my tight situation Fernando was able to cut my glasses right away. The guys were so great and I walked away with a cute new pair of glasses. Definitely recommend west loop for your eye needs. read more

I have been coming to West Loop Eye Care for over 4 years now and the level of service seems to be getting even better. I see Dr Shah for my exams and Brooke helped me pick out the most amazing pair of frames. The entire staff is wonderful but a special thanks to Dr. Shah and Brooke! read more

I went to West Loop eye care for a routine eye exam with the intentions of purchasing new glasses as well. Matt helped me find the PERFECT pair of glasses. He was so patient and willing to help. He gave me numerous glasses to try on and helped me make a final decision AND helped me get a rebate on my contacts! If I could take Matt shopping with me everywhere, I would. It was the most fun eye doctor experience I have ever had! read more

The eye exam went well other than the fact that the Dr. pushed me to try some new brand of contacts after explaining to her that I had absolutely zero issues of any kind with my current brand. I told her that the last time I tried a new brand, it was nearly impossible to remove at the end of the day. She said that wouldn't happen with these. Guess what happened? Anyways - that's partly on me, i should have adamantly refused. This wasn't even the worst part of this place, read on. Once done with the eye exam, you're brought to the salesman who gave pricing for a few different options, talking about rebates etc that make her deal so worthwhile. I told her I usually shop at Costco, and she offered to even pull their prices up on the screen to compare. She failed to Mention she had incorporated my $150 allowance from Insurance, even though I had used it already. She had even give me the per box rate (including my insurance allowance), without telling me! I am in sales myself, and find this an incredibly deceitful practice. Sell on convenience. You will never win on price. The sales girl wouldn't give me the quote she drew up since these were her notes, but I took a photo of the prices that "were no longer available" once she learned I had already used my insurance allowance. read more

This was my first time visiting West Loop Eye Care and it was a great experience! Not only did they make me feel very safe (constantly cleaning surfaces, everyone wearing masks), but everyone who works there is incredibly nice and willing to go out of their way to help out. I am always on the search for new eyewear and have been on a mission to find the perfect addition to my collection for the past several months. I stopped by West Loop Eye Care on my day off and Matt and Fernando were determined to help me with their expert level of customer service. They listened to me when I explained what I was looking for and, more important, to what I didn't want. Matt found me the PERFECT pair of Chanel glasses that were one of a kind. Thank you Matt and Fernando for your expert help and making it a fun and expedient experience! See you for my next pair! read more

I by chance was connected with W Loop Eye Care after finding somewhere close to where I lived, and I am so glad! Fernando was the sweetest person. Let me just say, this is THE best place (imo) to get an eye exam and the frames/contacts that you need. Everyone here is incredibly professional, caring, polite and helpful. Thank you Lynette and thank you Matt! Also, thank you Dr. Shah! Will def be recommending West Loop Eye Care to all of my friends! :) read more

I had a previous eye physician who really steered me in the wrong direction; my script was way off on my contacts and glasses and I had spent a lot of money (after insurance) so I was in a really unfortunate position when I called West Loop Eye Care. They went above and beyond to help me with my ordeal; not to mention they gave me incredible discounts because I had used my insurance up for the year. They understood my predicament. I can now see clear and am happy with my new outlook on life...literally! I must mention the excellent service I received from Matt. He is great at his job and such a pleasant guy! What a refreshing change from my previous doctor! Thanks so much Matt! :) read more

Would never come back again even if they paid me... Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. First, the "doctor" gave me the wrong prescription.... twice. Not sure how that happened when my Rx was written down..... Nice. Second, they gave me contact solution that made me scared I was going blind. I checked the reviews on amazon for the stuff they gave me and sure enough... 1 star fuming ratings. Checking your product before distributing it to patients is probably a good idea.... Nice again. Third, this place was more consumed with "making the sale" than providing good care... which I consider to be a crime. They were extremely pushy about buying "the best they had to offer"... pretty sure Tom Ford frames dont provide me with better eyesight than other brands... just saying. I had to argue with the secretary/frame fitter Matt for nearly an hour to get what I was looking for. Not okay..... Their office looks really pretty, they have a great selection of glasses if you're a millionaire and want to spend over $1000 on your glasses and contacts..... dont recommend read more

I've been going to West Loop Eye Care for about five years. They have always been outstanding and now, with Covid, they continue to provide excellent service. This is one of the best eye appointments I've ever had. I have chronic dry eyes after Lasik, and Dr. Gamboa gave me some at-home solutions to try before just prescribing medications and treatments (Restaysis, tear duct implants, etc) She really connected on a personal level and I felt very comfortable with her. The store manager, Matt, was so friendly on the phone as well. He had side conversation which was refreshing instead of just registering me. He also explained everything in detail which I appreciated. I will definitely be back! read more
