I am a new patient and I was so pleased to see that they had a wide range of appointment availability. All the staff took appropriate COVID precautions and were extremely welcoming/friendly. I was so pleased that the tech who ran my testing reviewed the intake interview survey and followed up on the concerns that I had noted. Dr. Shah also reviewed the survey and discussed my concerns with me as well. I have been to make different types of doctors who all ask for patients to complete an intake survey and this was the first time that anyone actually seemed like they read the survey. I was very appreciative of the time that Dr. Shah spent with me and that she took the concerns about my future eye health (due to my family eye history) seriously, even though I wasn't experiencing anything concerning at the time. She was very helpful in providing me several options for how to deal with my dry eye symptoms and even provided samples! I truly felt that she cared about my eye health and was an open and warm person that made sharing my concerns easier. The staff member who helped me purchase new contacts was very efficient, helped me with a rebate to make this particular brand cheaper, and answered all my questions to help me through the process. This was by far the most pleasurable medical appointment of any type that I have had in my life. read more

Best service I have ever had anywhere. The service experience was perfect from the time Matt answered the phone to schedule the appointment to the time I left the building. I walked in the door and I was receiving my first set of eye tests within 5 minutes. I am sorry I can't remember her name, but she was very nice, quick and thorough. Immediately after the test I was escorted to Dr. Shah for the remainder of my exam. Again very concise, walked me through the photos, gave me a clear consultation, and answered all of my questions. Also very nice and with a smile. Finally I met with Matt who was very patient as I tried on at least 25 pairs of glasses. Always gave me his honest opinion and made some great suggestions as well. I love shopping locally in the neighborhood and usually see Dr. Margaret at the Morgan Street location. I decided to go to West Loop Eye care because I wanted to check out the frames at this location, and I was not disappointed. There are so many great frames to choose from I would have spent the whole day there if it weren't for the staff. Matt and Fernando were great at picking out frames that suited my face and were able to quickly pick up on styles I liked. I loved all the selections they made and their honest opinions. I was very pleased with my experience at the West Loop Eye Care. The doctor and staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have a nice selection of glasses in the office. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but I still finished my appointment in less than an hour. I needed some new contacts and had to replace my old lenses on my glasses. They're under new management and it's absolutely awful, not to mention their prices are inordinately inflated. Since they switched management and decided to raise prices and will likely continue to do so, after 12 years, my family and I are going elsewhere, for better care and more competitive prices. I live right across the street from Vision Boutique and figured it would be a convenient option to get an eye exam/contact lens refill. I stopped in to make an appt and it turned out they weren't yet set up to accept my vision insurance. However, their sister store - Eye Care Center (located only two blocks away) did in fact accept it so they directed me there. Vision Boutique is what you'd expect from any indy eye place - nice selection of frames, boutique atmosphere, etc - the staff was really friendly and helpful even though I wasn't going to be utilizing them directly so I had good expectations for Eye Care Center. I made an appt for a few days later and one for Amy as well who decided after all these years to finally have her eyes checked. (insert joke here...) Anyway, ECC was a complete 180 from VB. It was located on the 3rd floor of an office building and shared office space with a dental practice (weird). It also had the appearance of what I would expect gov't subsidized health care for illegal immigrants to look like. The selection of glasses were decent (definitely on the lower end but they did have an ok selection of designer frames for Amy to check out while waiting for the Dr). The Dr himself deserves 5 stars. He was friendly, knowledgeable, etc and even seemed out of place in his own store. Both of our exams were standard, quick, and efficient and then it was time to move on to one of the sales associates for my contacts and Amy's glasses ... The girl who "helped us" was probably one of the worst sales people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Maybe she's used to working with a different kind of clientele - one that is uneducated or unfamiliar but after 30 seconds of me giving her background (been wearing contacts for 15+ years, able to get them online, etc, etc) - she should have gotten the hint and shut down her bs. Instead, she tried to railroad me into spending money over and above my insurance plan which was completely unnecessary. I know how many fk'n boxes I need to last me a year and I also know that I can pay $19 online for the same thing you're trying to rob me for $31 for. Long story short - I left with 2 boxes of contact vs 6 boxes as she claimed my insurance didn't cover anything else (which I knew was completely false). Went home, spoke to my insurance company - called her back livid, and sure enough 4 more boxes were going to be available to me in a few days. She tried to roll me for $200+ and the whole thing ended up costing me $6. It's pretty pointless to try to scam someone who is clearly knowledgeable and although I truly liked the Dr/owner - I wonder if this is a reflection on him as well. (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt). Amy's glasses were less of an issue but took over two weeks to make which seemed excessive. Although I liked the Dr - there's just too many options in the eye care world to be a repeat customer at a place that left such a bad taste in my mouth for something that should have been clear cut and dry. I just feel badly for their customers who don't know any better. read more
