I will never go back to West Loop Eye Care ever again. They have had two employees there that are so pushy that it's a complete turn off. They try to upsell anything they can, ask for Facebook and Yelp reviews, etc. But the worst part, is that they push their contacts on you and won't verify your Rx with 1-800-Contacts. This has happened to me twice where the pushy women salesperson called me instead and tried to sell me on ordering my contacts through them. They take so long to verify with 1-800-Contacts that the contacts are eventually just sent to me w/o Rx verification (which is indeed legal). Stay away from this place. Pushy salespeople that don't care about their customers are what you will find here. I'll never go back. However, I will say that I have found their doctors to be competent and nice people so that's the only regret I'll have about no longer being a customer here. read more

West Side Loop has changed eye doctors a few times in my 15 years I have been going to them, but the person that has always been there to meet, greet, and make sure your glasses are right for you , has been Manager Areli Boyas. Areli is patient, kind, and knows how to treat people with respect. She gives you an opportunity to try on, and find that perfect pair of eyeglasses without rushing you in and out. I am always glad to see her because I feel confident in her opinions and honesty. Trust me if glasses look bad on your Areli will let you know with a small shake of the head. :) Plus, she listens to your ideas about your glasses. There are not enough stars to say what an "excellent' person the West Loop Eye Care has in the professionalism and great personality of Areli Boyas, which is what we have too little of in today's world. I recently picked up my new pair of anti-reflective glasses and sunglasses and I couldn't be happier!! Getting lots of compliments from my friends and family. I love this place. They always seem to have a great selection in stock. I continue to get my eyewear from them despite no longer needing prescription glasses. Their employees have always been helpful, especially with helping me pick out frames that look good on my face. (They tend to be too small for me AND I'm picky, so it takes time to find the right pair). I just wish this place was closer to my work. read more

Outstanding job with both glasses and contacts. Good follow up, things that needed to be ordered came in on time.

My family has been receiving care at West Loop Eye Care for five years and I highly recommend them. The entire care team is excellent! They provide exceptional customer service and have quality frames and sunglasses. read more

I have been going here for 3 years, ever since I moved to the neighborhood and they are terrific ! I have been wearing glasses and contacts for most if my life and tend to wait until it is an emergency before I make an eye appointment but with the helpful staff and easy appointment schedule I make it 2x a year. I can see better than I have in years ! Thanks WLEC read more

My experience with West Loop Eye Care was amazing. From the time I walked in I recieved very positive energy, from the smiles of the friendly employees to the white lights coming from the decor. Their selection of frames was exceptional, they are expensive because they are designer; however, they do provide affordable frames. Matt was very a very big help in me picking my new frames. I'm very appreciative of his help and this location in my pick of glasses and new contacts. read more

I've been wearing glasses since the 1st grade & have tried many different places for eye care. West Loop Eye Care is the best service I've received. The staff makes you feel like family, it's very easy to make an appointment, and the wide selections are good for any budget. I usually work with Tiffany who always makes sure I'm taken care of, and I usually am able to get my contacts and glasses the next day because their lab is in store!! They even give me ample reminders for upcoming visits or needed appointments, and are very flexible and accommodating which is helpful because I have such a busy schedule. Highly recommended to all budgets, ages, and styles! read more

I love shopping locally in the neighborhood and usually see Dr. Margaret at the Morgan Street location. I decided to go to West Loop Eye care because I wanted to check out the frames at this location, and I was not disappointed. There are so many great frames to choose from I would have spent the whole day there if it weren't for the staff. Matt and Fernando were great at picking out frames that suited my face and were able to quickly pick up on styles I liked. I loved all the selections they made and their honest opinions. The visit was not only efficient and professional, the staff is also very friendly and helpful. Dr. Margaret is very patient and honestly spends time asking what questions you have. Great experience overall. read more

My eyes have been bothering me for the past month, since I'm now working from home due to COVID. I called in and asked what they suggested and Tiffany offered their blue light blocking glasses. I am someone that needs to try on glasses, but she was able to style me virtually and deliver the glasses the same day. I'm literally wearing them right now and my eyes feel soo much better! Thank you! read more

Staff is super friendly and attentive, Matt took care of me and he is great! The glasses selection is abundant and I found a pair that I really like! read more

Matt and Fernando are wonderful! I came in needed to update my glasses, and Fernando was able to see if my existing frame was in good enough shape to use and only replace the lenses (which they were!) and then helped me order my lenses and run them through insurance. The process was quick and my glasses were ready in just a few days. Both Fernando and Matt were helpful in adjusting my glasses and making sure I was happy. Both are just delightful individuals and they made eyeglass shopping a joy! read more

Really happy about finding this place. Matt, Fernando, Dominique, and Dr. Margaret were super nice, attentive and knowledgeable. They have a beautiful curated collection on both, sunglasses and eyeglasses.! read more

Stopped in west loop eye care today for my annual check up and contact lenses purchase. The staff was very friendly and informative. Thanks for a great experience Fernando, Matt and Dominique. Looking forward to visits again. read more

I visited West Loop Eye Care because I was in the neighborhood and liked the selection of eyeglass frames they offered. My annual eye exam was due, so I decided to get my exam at West Loop Eye Care and look for some new prescription glasses. Excellent service here -- the eye exam by Dr. Amy was very thorough and informative, ended up getting an annual supply of contacts and new progressive prescription glasses. Matt was very helpful in helping choose frames.....has a lot of insight on all the brands and what would look best for my face type. Thank you West Loop Eye Care. read more

I've been struggling with dry eyes for the past year and the staff at West Loop have been driven to help me resolve this issue. I am grateful for their diligence and patience. I also had a prescription change mid-year and was able to easily exchange my unopened contacts for contacts having my updated prescription. Matt M helped me find fabulous new frames, a pair which I would never have picked up on my own. The entire staff is very welcoming and customer focused. While prices are higher than what I would pay at a national chain, the quality of products and services received is excellent. read more

A great experience. Dr Nelly was so thorough, professional, and explained everything in detail. Fernando was very pleasant and helpful as well. I found my new eye center! read more

Great and friendly place! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful! The doctor made sure my two younger kids were comfortable and explained the process to them in "kid terms". Karina was extremely helpful! She matched my boys with some great glasses and made sure they were fitted for their frame. Would definitely recommend this place!! read more

Everyone is super friendly and Dr. Shah was friendly throughout the eye exam. The team was helpful when looking at frames and even helped me figure out what I would pay with my insurance. read more

I have severe viral conjunctivitis and at first I thought it was just pink eye. A doctor at Walmart eye care center gave me some drops that only made my eyes worse. Searching for help giving that this is very painful I was referred to this location. The staff is very effective Dominique and Fernando took care of me right away. Matt and Fonz were very welcoming, the four of them have such a positive vibe. It makes this location stand out a lot among the rest by the incredible customer service that is provided. The location is very pretty. The wait time was less than 5 minutes. I was running a little bit late but the doctor still saw me as soon as I came in. She was very pleasant and gave me more information than the first doctor I saw. I definitely recommend WestLoop Eyecare. My eyes are feeling way better after just a couple of drops. read more

Amazing experience! Was visiting Chicago for business and made the mistake of forgetting to pack extra contacts. When I got a tear in a contact and was desperate for a replacement the staff at West Loop was a life saver! They were so kind, professional, and super helpful in getting me an extra set of lenses. A pleasure to do business with and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area! Thanks West Loop Eye Care! read more

This is literally the best experience I've ever had at an optometrist. I had an emergency - needed contacts in my hand within 1 hour. In desperation, I found the eye doctors closest to me and this place came up. I called the store, they were able to schedule me in 10 minutes after I called. I ran to the store, the clerk was so understanding and calming... He helped me with my insurance to make sure I could get as good a price as possible, and I got an eye exam, prescription, and contacts in my hand within 45 minutes. Everyone was so nice and helpful and I made it on time to my competition. Thank you so much to this store, I don't know what I would have done without them!! read more

Great visit. Clean office, decent selection of glasses, friendly staff. Will definitely return!

For my first eye exam in I don't know how long, the staff at West Loop Eye Care made me feel right at home. I had an amazing experience with Fernando. He helped me pick out a great pair of glasses and wasn't the "typical pushy sales person". Matt was also very helpful and friendly. Overall, the staff was amazing and the store has tons of options. I'm definitely going back for my next exam! read more

I've been a patient at West Loop Eye Care since early 2012 or so. The staff is super friendly and helpful; on my most recent visit, Fernando and Matt were a pleasure to be around, and I think they both have a real eye (pun intended) for what looks good when it comes to glasses. I was a little turned off when, during my last exam, the optometrist started talking about the eye drops and contact solutions that I should be using (and which the office sells), but there wasn't much sales pressure, so I took her comments for what they were: recommendations from a professional, which I think (hope) counts for something. I think that's also the first time that's ever happened, so I'm not knocking the place for it. I will also say that I think this might be on the pricier side of eye doctors if you opt to buy eyewear here, BUT, 1) it's been years since I went anywhere else, so I'm not saying that with full confidence, 2) the business is admittedly in the West Loop, so it shouldn't come as any surprise if you end up paying a little more than elsewhere, and 3) they have a gorgeous selection of designer eyewear to choose from, thanks to whoever selects their inventory. read more

This is actually my second review for them but I looove this place. The doctors are great and I felt like they did a thorough exam. Matthew and Fernando have both been AMAZING at helping me pick out glasses! Was super sad when Matt was out of town for my appointment this time but Fernando was just as great!! :) read more

I've been a patient since 2014 and have always received top quality care. The check-ups are very thorough, the staff is always friendly and accommodating, and it's very easy to book appointments. I use both contacts and glasses-they have a great selection of frames. I once had a defective lens from one of my contact sets, I dropped by and Matt was happy to replace it on the spot. They always make sure you are taken care of, and you can tell that they care about their patients! read more

I realized I had run out of contacts for my right eye way too late in the game. I panicked, jumped on Yelp, and found West Loop Eye Care right around my new office. The scheduling and intake over the phone was really easy. They also went out of their way to ensure my insurance was all set. I came in for my appointment and aside from having to fill out a few papers I was taken back to get the stupid eye puff test (I just hate it) and all the other eye measuring tests very quickly. Immediately following I met Dr. Faye. She is just adorable and super helpful. She was blown away by the fact that I had been in the wrong prescription for so long, which it appears previous doctors were just trying to make a bit more cash off of me. She spent extra time with me to make sure I was happy with the prescription I should be in. I then met with Fernando, the nicest man alive, and he put together my contact order, explained my benefits thoroughly and then discussed my glasses options. He pulled about 15 pairs of glasses for me to try based off my taste. Of course I went with the most expensive pair of Tom Ford glasses but they're super cute and Fernando threw me a little discount so I was like... YOLO. The best part of the experience was I never felt pushed, overwhelmed, or ripped off. They set me up with a year long supply of contacts and invited me back for free glasses adjustments. Go to West Loop Eye Care! Get your peepers checked. Enjoy working with them, because it's hard not to. read more

Medical appointments are something I absolutely dread. I know that I don't HAVE to do it, but I should...Adulting right? I made an appointment to have my yearly check up with Dr. Faye Gamboa. Dr. Gamboa is polite, personable, intelligent, and confident. I have never had such a pleasant and thorough eye exam before. I have had multiple issues with my right eye, contact discomfort, and blurred vision. Dr. Gamboa gave me preventable advice, suggested an amazing brand of contacts, and corrected my prescription. Check, check, and check! In addition, Fernando was amazingly patient with me when purchasing contacts and sunglasses. To be honest, I walked away thinking I paid a lot more than I should have. I called Fernando and again, he went through the prices with me and even offered to price match. In the end, I found out that the price was justified because I forgot that I had to purchase the double amount of contacts because I have two eyes (face palm). Also, I have compared their prices to other big retail stores. Trust me, especially if you have vision insurance, you are paying a fair and discounted price here! Also, Matt was extremely pleasant when helping me pick out a pair of glasses even though I didn't end up buying any. All in all, I highly recommend this office to keep you and your eyes healthy and happy! read more

I had been following with the same eye doctor for 20+ years, but after moving I had to find a new one. After reading some reviews online, West Loop Eye Care was an easy choice. Dr. Margaret is outstanding, very professional, friendly, and spent a lot of time during my eye exam explaining everything she was doing and what she found. Matt, the optician, was awesome, and helped me pick out new glasses and order my year-supply of contacts. He worked with my insurance plan and some promotional codes to get me a great deal, and put a rush on my order so that I could get my glasses sooner. I really appreciate their expertise and excellent customer service, and highly recommend West Loop Eye Care to anyone looking for an eye doctor! read more

Doctor was fine but the staff and the front of house are another deal altogether. Ridiculously overpriced and very pushy in upselling the designer junk. Once you are in their system, they never leave you alone, either. Constant robocalls and daily spam emails await. Rude and arrogant to boot. read more

Great location and great staff make my annual eye exam and purchasing a breeze. Fantastic store!

This place has a large variety of eyeglasses although I didn't find any this time, the next time I'm in Chicago this will be my first stop. I visited Eye Care Center a few weeks ago and was pleased with the immediate assistance and kindess with which I was treated. When I had a emergency situation with my eye the optometrist attended to me quickly and took time out to assess and evaluation my issue. What a disappointment!!! I was a regular patient at this eye center but after my recent visit I couldn't be more dissatisfied. My go to person Areli is no longer there and now I hate this place. So different!! They are so rude and slow in helping you. They're so insistent on getting you to add something that is unnecessary to your purchase or purpose of the visit. I will definitely not be returning to this place ever again. Service is definitely not the same! It doesn't even deserve one star. read more
