Overall great. I met with 4 people -- from check-in to having my lenses made same day -- it was a wonderful experience. The most thorough eye exam I've ever had. It included a view of the back of my eyes to show sun damage I was completely unaware of. I always thought of eye exams for correcting vision with glasses, and since I've always had 20/20 vision, didn't realize all the harm being done by the sun - and how that sun damage builds up over the years. I asked about getting lenses to reduce the glare of computers at night, which has been nuisance for me recently. Tosh was very helpful in choosing frames for me, that I never thought I would like. She found some frames that I didn't even notice, but when I tried them on I loved them. Then she had the protective lenses put in the same day, and in about 10 minutes I walked out with new lenses, to protect my eyes, so that I won't need a prescription in the future. I've been wearing the lenses indoor, while on the computer, in rooms with bright indoor lights, and in rooms that have a lot of natural light, and I very much notice a different in my mood feeling fresh and my eyes feeling relaxed. The doctor also recommended that I wear 100% UVA/UVB sunglasses everyday outdoors, but she didn't upsell or cross-sell me on frames/lenses in the shop, saying I could find some outside of this shop that would work well for me -- which demonstrates this place is trustworthy. They want you to be safe, and to protect your eyes - they not just selling you more gear. So now I have clear UV protective lenses, and darker one's for biking/sports outdoors. Last year, I was running out of time to order new glasses before my coverage expired in 2013. I often visit numerous companies because I learned a while ago that frame prices vary from one doctor's office to another. So I usually try to price shop, in advance, before making a final choice. I ended up locating this company through my insurance. The frames were only available in a few select stores in Chicago, Illinois. Before speaking with this office, I had even considered looking at the frames while on vacation in another city. I spoke with Karina, store sales representative, on the phone and she listened and asked questions. She allowed me to email my chosen frame and she investigated my selection. She immediately offered to help me place my order before the end of 2013 and provided a excellent price with savings. Due to my schedule, I decided to wait and she was very polite. She offered assistance that whenever I was ready to order my information would be on file. In 2014, I could stop by at my convenience and visit the office. So a few months ago, she ordered my frame. I am now wearing a frame that is almost a one of a kind in Illinois; due to the limited suppliers. When you have been on the other side of the fence providing great customer service, it is nice to receive. I left with gratitude and appreciation that I was a valued customer. Thanks for the supportive team to Karina that encouraged me to change my style and endured a great level of patience while I shopped and pondered over my selection. This quaint hidden treasure should most definitely receive more recognition in the West LOOP. Go let them make it happen for you!!! read more

This place is lucky because I don't have a choice but to give them 1 star, if I could they wouldn't get any! First of all with having so many different options out there to go to, these people including their sister companies (Vision Boutique on Madison and the other Vision Boutique located on Sheffield) should realize that sooner or later patients will realize that we're just getting ripped off and they're (the doctors and employees) just out there for them selves. As a patient, I had to learn this the hard way, but I'm glad my problem was resolved with the help of my insurance and credit card company. I spent over $1,200 (between two of the locations) on my first bifocals of "digital progressives", made with "a better material" at this location and a pair of Sunglasses at Vision Boutique. Which by the way they were crap, the lenses started cracking and peeling. According to an optician from a different company, the lenses were made with a regular plastic material and regular (cheap) progressive lens. I wouldn't of known the difference if wasn't because the optician made a comment about them and explained/showed me the difference. So, my fellow yelpers reading this...STAY AWAY from these 3 opticals which are own by the same doctors because if it happened to me, I'm sure it has happened to many others! Not ONLY they're MUCH more expensive than most places even with insurance, they WILL tell you that you need glasses even if you DON'T have a legit prescription which it happened to my son!!! Good thing I took him for a second opinion before I purchase his glasses. So don't let them fool you with their kindness... read more

I have been coming to the eye center for years usually just for a check up and the service was always great. However, recently I received a prescription for the first time meaning I would have to start wearing glasses. The doctor was extremely caring and explained to my the benefits of wearing the glasses and many tips. Even more so, the staff at West Loop Eye Care were extremely helpful in advising me on different frames which was a completely new experience for me having never worn glasses. They made the process painless and even fun. When I went to pick them up they gave me immediate attention and spent plenty of time adjusting my glasses and further explaining how to care for them. My whole family has been coming here for many years and it's not just because they have great deals/prices on the service. The rest of my family has always worn glasses and they have always been more than satisfied with the positive experience that stems from Areli's (manager) and the rest of the staff's attentive care and friendliness. Nothing but good things to say about my experience at Westloop Eye Care. I was in a pinch with torn contacts during vacation early in the year. They went above and beyond to get new contacts in my hands that day and I could actually see the concert I was in town for! The lightning fast examine was still 100x better than any doctor i've seen in my area and I cannot recommend it enough to stop by here and confirm if your current prescription is correct. I called them today, 10 months later, to reorder contacts and there was no issue. They had my info in a flash and knew exactly how to assist. (A huge shout out to Fernando for playing phone tag with me because I did not have all my information on the first call, and I had terrible phone service and I'm so sorry. He was exceptionally patient and friendly.) I cannot say enough wonderful things about West Loop Eye Care and the entire staff! They are so kind, caring, and accommodating. Dr. Faye is super smart, invested in your well being, and takes the time to make you feel like you matter. Their new location is spacious and beautiful and they have an incredible selection of glasses. Matt and Fernando are RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME. And this isn't just a one time thing, they are always this amazing. I have some complex eye issues dating back to when I was a baby and they are always so patient, understanding, and really take the time to make sure they are meeting all of my needs as a patient. I have been coming to west loop eye care since I was in the 4th grade/when it was called union eye care. I come from a very large family, and we have all been customers for quite awhile. I have had the opportunity to build relationships with the staff, which I have found to really benefit me, being as indecisive as I am. It takes me hours to choose a frame, and I have never felt rushed at west loop. In fact, to accommodate my indecisiveness, which the staff are well aware of, I have been encouraged to browse through frames before my eye exam. This has helped get me out of there within a reasonable amount of time : ) At west loop, I feel that the staff are genuine and genuinely want customers to feel comfortable and happy when they leave. I was in dire need of temporary lenses and no one would give them to me until I came here and saw Matt before my trip to Mexico ! He was so wonderful. Booked me an appointment on the spot with my new insurance. The entire appointment was SO seamless and not to mention the doctor actually didn't rush! I have been coming here for years and had to stop last year because of distance and THANKFULLY am back ! During the checkout process I felt at home having a wonderful conversation with Katie and Dominique as they both helped me choose a wonderful pair of SALT glasses! My daughter and I recently had our first visit and eye exam at West Loop Eye Care. The entire experience from scheduling initial appointment to eye exam and picking out new glasses was top notch! The staff are all very efficient and helpful, especially Matt, who did everything possible to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. During our first visit, we opted to look around a bit for frames. Well, all one needs to do is compare options to see that the service and selection at WLEC is unbeatable! When I returned 2 days later to finalize my selection, Matt went out of his way to have glasses made quickly and ready within a few hours. He sent email and telephoned to say glasses were ready and my daughter was able to wear her new glasses to camp the following day. I have severe viral conjunctivitis and at first I thought it was just pink eye. A doctor at Walmart eye care center gave me some drops that only made my eyes worse. Searching for help giving that this is very painful I was referred to this location. The staff is very effective Dominique and Fernando took care of me right away. Matt and Fonz were very welcoming, the four of them have such a positive vibe. It makes this location stand out a lot among the rest by the incredible customer service that is provided. The location is very pretty. The wait time was less than 5 minutes. I was running a little bit late but the doctor still saw me as soon as I came in. She was very pleasant and gave me more information than the first doctor I saw. I definitely recommend WestLoop Eyecare. My eyes are feeling way better after just a couple of drops. read more

I've been going to the "EYE CARE CENTER " for at least 15 years, and I have found all of the staff to be pleasant and knowledgeable each time I've been there. Every pair of frames I have selected have been recieved with compliments from all who see them. The young lady who works there has always been very nice, and has alwyays helped me selcet a great frame each time. She has always been courteous and has always explained in detail all of the charges and discounts available through my insurance.I have also noticed that she has been patient and kind to the other customers who have been in the office while attending to me. Matt patiently explained by insurance coverage and helped me find the frames I was looking for, as well as shared with me the options are varying price points. Likewise, Angela was an excellent technician who explained the various tests and made the experience quite pleasant. Dr. Shah was wonderful and thorough in her examination--I've never had such a comprehensive eye exam. What's more, she helped me identify and deal with a problem I didn't even realize I had and gave her time to answer all the questions I could come up with. A good eye doctor is really hard to find -- and I finally found one! I had a great experience at West Loop Eye Care. Dr. Faye is awesome, and really took the time to talk me through everything. From the moment I walked in, I felt like she really cares about my eye health and what's the best for me. Contact Lenses are never cheap, but I really appreciated the time Matt spent with me explaining my insurance and how everything works. They didn't try to upsell me on weird things I didn't understand, and encouraged me to take my time to try things out and come back if anything doesn't feel right. I have sort of a double review for Matt and Stephanie at Vision Boutique. I had my eye exam and purchased glasses at Vision Boutique. Matt at West Loop Eye Care installed the lenses. Both boutiques are amazing. Stephanie is so nice that she even walked me down the street to get my lenses installed. This usually takes days up to a week, but at my request it was able to be done in one day (about 40 minutes to be exact)! Matt is a perfectionist and even cut the lenses twice because he "wanted to make sure they were perfect for me". Service like this is rare nowadays and I appreciate them because they love their job and it shows in the service. Awesome!!! read more

One of the best customer service experiences I have had. Everything about my eye appointment was carefully explained to me. Matt was super helpful deciphering insurance options and getting me the best deals. He made finding glasses fun and exciting. Watched me try on several pairs until we found the right one! I would recommend this place to anyone! Took the extra step and got my glasses to me the next day and offered to walk a few blocks away to get my contacts for me. I've been a patient here since 2015 and I just went into the new location today. Was helped by Matt and Tiffany, as well as Dr. Faye. Such a good experience. Everyone was extremely friendly, received a wonderful coffee, an eyeglass straightening (mine were crooked from playing with the dog lol). But! They also helped me with my rebate on my order of contact lenses. Sat there with me until I completed it. Just wonderful customer service. Had a great experience here. The entire process was incredibly efficient and easy. I learned at the end of my appointment that their computers had been down all day, but I never would have known it unless they told me, because of how on top of everything the entire staff was.
