I love the tavern feel of this place and the food is excellent. Ribs are amazing, skillet mac & cheese, fresh cornbread.....I can go on and on. I love their rooftop, although, I remember the rooftop from almost 20 years ago; that makes me older than I like to admit, but speaks to the longevity of their success. Boulder downtown had a different view back then and it's good to see this place still holding it's ground. Keep it up West End! read more

Great burgers! One of the best I've ever had and I'm kinda fat! Ice cold beer on tap and a nice roof patio. We've eaten a few burgers down here in the Pearl Street area and West End tops them all. read more

West End Tavern - New American Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

I have been going to West End Tavern for years many different times when visiting Boulder. I was in the mood for a veggie burger and couldn't imagine a more delicious one. My husband's hamburger was fantastic, as well. The server was very helpful and attentive and we were marveling how satisfied we were with the price! Great selection of beer, too! read more

Celebrated my birthday here with dinner. The ribs were great!! Wait staff fantastic! makes me wanna visit again soon!!!!

Ribs are overpriced and just ok, mac & cheese is tasty (add bacon), deviled eggs are yummy, fried chicken, greens and slaw are good, not great. I guess stick to the yellow and green foods? Cocktails are overall enjoyable but not remarkable. I like but don't love it here, it's not a place I get a hankering for. It's more of a, "what do you want for dinner? We haven't been to West End in a year, want to try it again? I guess so" kind of place. It's loud and cozy at the same time. Lots of stairs. There is an upper level patio that can be fun for a group. read more

Great ambiance and service. Food was ok. Best things on the menu were the burgers and anything on the happy hour menu. Steer clear of the bbq brisket and chicken. Both came out dry. read more

I was excited to try this place out while in Boulder dropping my daughter off for her freshman year at CU. The atmosphere is great. However, our service was not. The server asked if we wanted lemons with our soft drinks. We adamantly said no. They came with lemons fully submerged in our soda. Our food came out before my wine. I asked the hostess for it and she said it was coming. It didn't. We had to ask for ketchup and bbq sauce. We had ordered pulled pork that cake with fries. Seems like a no brainer. Half way through eating, I asked for my wine again. It finally arrived. No apologies. Food was just okay. Not bad but definitely not unique in any way. I'd love to say that I'll give them another shot but doubtful when there are so many other choices. read more

4 overall, but 5 on the wings. They are usually crispy and very saucy (which is ideal) and have good flavor. Definitely the best wings in town over the past 15 years of me being on a Boulder wing tour! read more

We just stopped there for appetizers, but what we had was very good. The burnt ends were phenomenal, the cornbread skillet was delicious, and the fried brussel sprouts were great. They also have a good selection of local beers on tap, and a great happy hour price. I would love to go back and try some of their entrees. read more

One of the only places in Boulder worth going to. I moved here from the West Coast and after living in the culinary abundance of Portland, Boulder has been a less than awesome adjustment. So believe me when I say that every time I've come here, I've left so happy. Great food. Great service (bartenders are always super friendly). Great drinks. Great atmosphere. And you can tell that they care about quality. Will be back (again). read more

We went her for my bachelorette party- lunch on the roof and I loved it. Our server Claudia was so nice and fun. The food was really good and they have pitchers of mixed drinks which was great. We played cards and drank for a while and never felt rushed. read more

Giving 5 stars for the West End's upstairs bar and their AMAZING tots! You have never had anything like them. Whipped potato balls deep fried - so light and airy and delicious. Staff is top notch, drinks are creative and delicious. Go! read more

My roommate took me here since we both love whiskey. I ended up trying the Pearl Street Punch drink even though it was gin and it was delicious. His tomato soup was phenomenal, and both the meals were fantastic. We tried all the house made sauces and they were lovely. Then for desert we tried a few whiskeys and loved them all. My roommate told the bartender what type of whiskey he liked and got some great recommendations based that. It is a fun place to try and bunch of different unique flavours and I really enjoyed the people watching too. We want to go back and try some of the bourbon deserts we were too full to try this visit! read more

Kenny is AWESOME! This is my first visit here, and it's super good :) it looks very "hole in the wall," and my meal is delicious! A great spot on west Pearl. read more

Nice place to hang out in Boulder. The bar tender knew her pours. Tried the fried chicken and waffle but I don't think its my thing. One of the previous reviewers -- Kyle M. -- has a good description of the place. read more

So my first visit to the West End Tavern was a mixed affair. My family and I visited here on a rather busy day following the Fourth of July. We got seated in the back by the kitchen which isn't surprising as the 3 year old can be loud, but the location was very noisy. My wife ordered a Blue Eyed Blonde drink and I had a Blueberry Lace. The Blue Eyed Blonde was a nice cocktail for a summer day and I really enjoyed the Blueberry Lace. The bourbon and blueberries were surprisingly complimentary. For the meal I ordered the Smoked Short Rib Burger blue plate special. From the smell of the smoked meats in the air I thought I was in a for a special treat. Upon tasting the burger though there was very little smoke flavor and the patty itself had the consistency of a sausage patty. It was great in the beginning but unfortunately it didn't take long for the natural juiciness of the pork to soak the bun. I did have the yam chips and they were most excellent. My wife ordered the Grilled Cheese Sliders and Tomato Soup. She very much enjoyed the sandwich and the soup was very rich and thick. And she couldn't stop helping herself to the french fries on my daughter's grilled cheese kids meal. Where I am torn with this place is I believe I would have had a much better experience if I had came in with just my wife and ordered something different. I watched a lot of good looking food come out of the kitchen but unfortunately the 'smoked' short rib burger ended up being a big bust for me. read more

Gorgeous rooftop deck, great microbrews on tap, beautiful bar, very yummy comfort food. Great happy hour deals. Have taken several friends here and we always enjoy. read more

I have only ever had the cookie baked in a pan but WOW is it amazing. perfectly cooked and delicious every time!

We had been talking about coming here for bread pudding all day, and when we got here, they had not only run out, but were going to be changing the menu over night and removing the bread pudding. The sous chef (Clint) was standing within ear shot of us when the bar tender (Riskin) told us they were not serving it, and offered to make it one last time just for us...nice people, great music, and fantastic selection of beer and bourbon. Oh, and great burgers and steaks...This is one of our favorite restaurants! read more

Really good experience... looking forward to coming back in nicer weather to kick it on their beautiful deck. We ate their burger special and the BBQ sampler. Both meals were really good. Service was good even as busy as the were. We WILL be back! read more

Just yum. Great burger - smoky cooked perfect and a decent size. Watch the game- use the Internet. Great service and fair prices and the coleslaw is off the charts good. read more

Food menu was not appealing. It was dark and uninviting. Service was ok at best. The rooftop area is dining only which is a bummer, it would be cool if you could just get a drink and chill up there. Oh well. Beer selection was good, featuring IPAs this month! read more

Good pub food, relaxed atmosphere, good service, fair prices. I had fish and chips, my friend had a veggie burger. Beer selection could be a bit better--this is Boulder, after all--but we were happy to find it after having been told next door we'd have a 45-60 minute wait. read more

Great beer. Food was amazing....everyone loved it!! It was nice on the rooftop. We had kids with us and it was perfect. Glad we stopped in.

I came here for lunch during a business trip to Colorado. The rooftop seating area can get pretty hot if you get stuck with a table that's in the sun, which was the case for us. However, we were quickly relocated without any problems. Our waitress was amazing. Super friendly! We ordered the Dirty Wings for our appetizer and I got the Sticky Bird Sandwich. Both were delicious and to die for! I'd definitely come back here the next time I'm in Boulder. read more

We were sat at our table and no one even acknowledged we were there for 15 minutes until we finally asked someone passing for some WATER. Also, there were flies all over the table we were seated at... it was unbearable so we left and will never return. read more

Good atmosphere, great beer selection, pretty good food! I like the rooftop too.

Great wings, good drinks, fun happy hour. It is a little pricey if you don't go during happy hour, but the food is great!

Great roof top deck & bar, especially on a 75 degree day. Go there for fantastic beer on top, not the food. Stick with the Reubens & you'll be satisfied . read more

Mac & cheese = awesome Ribs = fall of the bone awesome Good beer selection. I tried to be tough and order a bourbon cocktail, terrible decision. Holy sh!t was that strong! Boyfriend called it "mild", haha. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Boulder. I am never let down by this place as the food is consistently delicious and the people that work there are friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable with large booths, yet the vibes are fun. Happy hour is a must! They have great deals on drinks and appetizers. read more

Portions are a little small for the prices they charge, but the food is damn good. The brisket is particularly excellent. If you're feeling indulgent, try the macaroni and cheese topped w/ pulled pork. It's heavenly. read more

Not Your Grandma's whiskey ginger (don't remember the full name but that's the gist of it) is awesome. Our waitress was super patient, flexible and knowledgeable. Interior is neat - speakeasy like environment. read more

Have had a number of great meals here with family and friends. The staff are nice, the burgers are great, the corn bread is terrific, and during the warmer months the upstairs deck with its view of the flatirons is awesome. They also have a substantial selection of beer and bourbons (whiskey probably too, but I've focused more on the bourbon). It can get quite busy, so be patient if you have to wait a little bit - well worth it. read more

Great food and great service. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious as was the prime tavern burger.

Great vibe, great music, great people, great food! I highly recommend sitting upstairs. They have a patio and also a more enclosed patio area. Great place to chill. read more
