The store overall has low rating but based off of my experience it was wonderful! The store was clean, organized and spacious! The staff's customer service was a 10/10! They were so attentive and not pushy. I had my 7 year old and they weee very warm towards her. That's not always the case. I ordered a pillow cover from them. Their site indicated that the item was returnable. However after it came and I wanted to return it, they said it wasn't. It's an attractive design, however the zipper is so small it is almost impossible to get a pillow insert into it. It is virtually non functional. Do not shop at this store. read more

Really poor engagement at this location. Literally shopped this morning for 15 minutes and did not have one single interaction with the staff. I was the only customer in the store. One guy was working on some visuals and 2 girls are at the cashwrap chatting with each other. Really poor service. I guess all the reviews are correct, poorly managed store. Evidently Laua Alber doesnt read the reviews either. Also, I have never seen a West Elm store with such dirty windows. Made the store feel dirty as well. Forget this Big Box Chain Store. I purchased 2 chairs and a sofa sleeper in a commercial grade fabric December 2, 2022, for my rental condo in Florida. After numerous delays in shipping, I was forced to postpone my renting. 1 month past the promised delivery, the truck showed up with 1 chair that was the wrong color and no sofa sleeper. (West Elm uses contract delivery companies who do not know anything about the orders). After contacting West Elm, I learned the chair fabric was no longer available on that chair and that the couch was MIA and was now discontinued. Consequently, I sent the wrong color chair back, and requested a search for my sofa. After not hearing back from WE, I contacted them 5 days later to learn my couch was not found and I could order a different one and wait another 3 months. I went back to WE Boulder and the manager was less than sympathetic. Her solution was to discount the shipping $230.00. (Half of the shipping on the sofa ) At WE there are no quick fixes for their mistakes, nor do they care. As for the corporate side of West Elm, I did receive a check for the couch 6 weeks after it failed to be found. As for the chairs, it has been 7 weeks and no check and was told it will be another 4 weeks for processing. Thankfully, I found a local company in Florida who had a sofa sleeper in a commercial grade fabric that was made in the USA and it was delivered the next day. It's no surprise I liked this store so much, given that I'm a fan of two of their sister stores and I shop them regularly at Flatiron Crossing as well as online. It's wonderful that they located the new West Elm in Boulder. I've not had an opportunity to have visited any other West Elm stores in person before and I liked the quality of the goods I saw. It even gives me a sense of how to judge items online that are not available in the retail store. I especially liked the emphasis on natural fibers, fair trade made items, and their "feed" items that support "meals" programs in the US. And the overall style seems fitting both to the community and to my personal likes. The store is beautiful, very well stocked for the opening and the upcoming holiday season. I found lots to purchase today and therefore earned a nice "hello Boulder" tote for free. It's cute and I'm a fan of reusable shopping bags, especially here in Boulder where the city charges a fee for grocery bags and so it's a habit for most shopping now. It was really nice to have so many attentive and well trained staff available. I hope staffing will continue to be sufficient after the grand opening and holiday season. But they are off to a great start. Better than most stores seem to do their first week. read more

Thieves ! I had the Bodhi Chair and ottoman picked up from their "medics" to repair degrading stain. It has been 2 months and I still haven't received my chair. I have spent 5 hours calling various numbers to contact the Hub where my chair is apparently suppose to be at. However, no one can every be reached at this mysterious Hub place. The Boulder retail can only speak in order and sku numbers. They are unable to think outside the box of how to locate my chair. Not only can they not find my chair they said they couldn't repair it because it is no longer be sold however, you can blatantly see it is still sold online. I have spent $500 on a chair and ottoman that degraded in one season and to have West Elm lose it in their fake repair place. read more

STORE MANAGERS, WEST ELM CORPORATE, READ YOUR REVIEWS! This review is not about the furniture, it's about the Boulder store in general. The store decor and layout are excellent. Organized, fun to browse... etc. The staff is terrible. Every single time we've experienced lackluster, unprofessional, unenthusiastic staff. There is one gentleman in particular that always seems so bothered anytime he's asked a question that it makes me wonder what has happened in his life to make him act this way. There are plenty of other jobs in this world - nobody is forcing him to work retail. We are generally very patient with floor staff as we know how it is to work retail, but really the management needs to think about replacing or training staff. Absolutely pathetic. I ordered sheets on line Oct 12 and they finally arrived Dec 7th- NOT acceptable. I left the package unopened, called for a return label, was told she would send it via email Immediately- not. So I called again, went on line to get the label where it stated that the order was in progress, which made it impossible to secure a label to return the sheets. Asked about sales on bedding when I was at the Boulder store... staff member said their wasn't any. I went online and there were sales on bedding - guess in-store folks aren't allowed to share about those? Ordered bedding online for pickup at the Boulder store... had to wait until the next day for pickup because the store didn't want someone coming in too close to closing. Apparently, it is all about the customer (sarcasm). Given past problems with the company, I think they have earned their three strikes... I had issues ordering a table from the Westminster store about a year ago (back order with limited communication so I canceled it after rude customer service by store staff)... this is after a problem ordering a bedframe several years ago (they forgot to place the order). People aren't joking! This store is comically awful. The products are great, but the sales staff is awful. Reason 1: I went in this morning and there were 4 other people standing at the register to check out. There was no one around. I walked around and found someone sitting at a computer and when I told her there were 4 of us waiting she said "oh, I didn't know". She greeted no one, helped no one. The store opened at 10am on a Saturday, it was 10:20. Saturday! Reason 2: "I'd like to buy these 6 chairs, there is a 15% off discount on your website when you enter your email. I've entered my email but haven't gotten a response yet. Should I keep waiting for the coupon or can you help?" The sales clerks response "those emails can sometimes take 3 days. You can come back when you get it to get the discount". Come back! A person is physically standing in your store trying to spend $600 and your solution is to tell me to leave?!? Reason 3: the hardware was missing from the box for one of the chairs I purchased (eventually getting my 15% off), so I called the store to make sure they had a spare in stock so I could switch it out. Another sales clerks response "could you not bring it in the store? Can you drop it off at the customer pick up spot (around back), ring our clerk to pick it up, then drive around to the front so we can do the transaction and then drive back around to the back and pick up the new chair?" Um no. Holy crap people. There was only ONE sane person from my West Elm day of hell and that's Kelly. She was the only human. Thank you Kelly! read more

Wow, read all the other reviews--they're right! We went here to purchase a dining table and 4 chairs, but were never greeted. There were very few customers in the store; one customer was at the register annoyed because the rep at the register was on the phone and ignoring her (she made a comment to us), another two were browsing unassisted at the front of the store, and a third customer also browsing unassisted in the back. I saw at least 4 employees, but they were all chatting amongst themselves. We probably would have purchased our table and chairs (probably about $2500 total) as we had researched the products for several months and knew exactly what we wanted--we just wanted to sit in the chairs and make sure they were comfy. We were super excited, but we ended up leaving after being completed ignored for 20 minutes. I am not exaggerating here, we didn't even get a sideways glance or half hearted wave, lol. I am honestly glad this happened though, as based on the other reviews here it seemed like we dodged a bullet! The reps at the Crate and Barrel in Broomfield are always very attentive and helpful so we're most likely going to get a table there instead. read more

I spent about 15 minutes trying to find fabric samples. Finally one girl helped me for about 3 minutes and then left. No offers to answer questions or help with fabrics. The quality has gone up significantly in the last couple of years, and I've been very happy with the mid century modern selection. This review is about Kelly who works at the Boulder store however. First of all, there's never anyone in here to help you. They are either hiding or busy doing something else and won't look at you or acknowledge you. This has happened to me 3 times when I went here recently to look at stuff. I've never been to a corporate store that markets to the higher end crowd that doesn't greet everyone or try to help everyone who walks in. But lets move beyond that because one can just call and order... The real issue is the furniture is CRAP. This is seriously over priced stuff. The drawers have terrible quality sliders, there are no soft-closing drawers on any of the expensive items... This stuff is crazy. For over $1,000 someone expects nice drawers that slide properly and close properly. Additionally, this location has very little available to see on the floor... why even bother with the store based on these realities? Silly waste of money when people would be better served online and wouldn't be able to tell how low quality this furniture is. Yikes! Avoid at all costs. If you like this style, CB2 is considerably better and a bit cheaper. read more

Today was my first ever experience with West Elm and it was the worst to say the least. I wish I could give zero stars. Today I traveled 40min to explore the Boulder location with family and after entering, a designer (not even manager), Anastasiya, stops us and confusingly says that they MIGHT be at capacity. OK, might have or are at capacity? After repeated attempts to ask her what there capacity number is she says "8" which was the number of members in my family. It was clear she did not know the number or did not want to reveal the limitations because the store may have had, at most, 10 costumers. Their automated system clearly states 35 people as a capacity maximum. During an effort to ask what their capacity is she asked for our children to exit the store and said "the children take the number over the top, can someone stay with them outside". She was only concerned with the children which were 3 small ones ages 4, 6, 7. While she refused to let the children enter she was willing to let other costumers walk in without a hassle while "being at capacity". Nobody was at the door counting exiting or entering costumers after the children had to stand outside. She was rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and I felt as if she discriminated against children. It was SHOCKING and I will never shop with West Elm. The only reason we even had to visit this location is because my sister already purchased a couch from West Elm which was delivered TWICE to their home DAMAGED so they had to pick another fabric. read more

I like West Elm and their general style, so when I heard they were coming to town, I was excited. Unfortunately, the employees and customer service in this store ruin it for me time and time again. Today, a sales associate literally sneered at me when I asked for a simple price adjustment. A few months ago, I was buying a sectional sofa from them and had some questions about upholstery choices, so I went into the store to look at the fabrics directly. The employees could not answer basic questions, like "which of these fabrics is the most durable?". They actually told me I should ask my interior designer about their fabrics. That makes no sense. I have used their free design consultation services as well for selecting a rug, I found the help to be fairly lackluster and unhelpful. Piece of advice that I have learned is to use the Cherry Creek West Elm in you need advice about an item you've seen online or have questions about their products. I've called into them several times. They are incredibly knowledgeable and definitely go the extra mile. read more

I love the style of West Elm furniture, but the QUALITY AND SERVICE are appalling! In July, 2020, I purchased several pieces of furniture for my new apartment. I worked with one of their staff designers showing him the apartment dimensions and photograph of the apartment layout. The sectional sofa and two chairs I purchased with his concurrence were way oversized for the apartment. They all were returned. I purchased a media console which was delivered and returned twice. The first time, the delivery folks assembled the piece with the shelves and cabinet out of alignment. The first was returned. When the second was delivered, I explained the first situation to the delivery team and was told they wouldn't ever bring the piece in because it, too, was not acceptable. Then when they redelivered again, the console was aligned correctly. I purchased two bedroom sets. One queen size bed was delivered with a slice of the platform wood that was sliced. It was returned. The second queen bed is currently scheduled to be returned because the headboard has developed a 12" plus crack. Their scheduling was to pick uexchange and redeliver a new bed on Jan 4. That delivery/exchange was canceled by West Elm and I have yet been advised of their delivery/exchange date. When I called to find out why Jan 4 didn't work and when they would reschedule, I was advised that "the bed has not been received and to keep calling back to determine delivery date." Really? West Elm has no idea when their pieces will arrive for delivery? I am 65 years old and have relocated many times over my lifetime. I have NEVER experienced a furniture company that demonstrated this poor quality and service. I am beyond flabbergasted! I'm no longer a West Elm customer in Boulder, CO! Ordered a couch on September 22, it was not delivered until late December. Within a week a metal riveted button popped off, it cannot be sowed back on. I have been in phone and email limbo now for three weeks with no response besides to be asked again and again to send detailed pictures, which I have done to no response. We are moving to Boulder and furnishing a house. I found a perfect small table, and was excited it had a 30% sales tag on it! Sold! But wait, no. The sales person checked to see if it was in stock, and said it was not 30% off, even though the sales tag was clearly attached to the table and price tag! Another sales person came by, and nope, even though says on sale, not on sale...that tag is wrong! At that point, I would have fully expected the sales person or manager to honor the sale price (apparently, the sale ended the night before). There was no offer, and frankly, would have expected the staff to at least be sympathetic to the situation. I would expect more from West Elm. What these sales people don't recognize is that they lost more than a table sale, they have lost a customer. read more

Wish I could give this store zero stars honestly. We arrived at the Boulder location with our children and were told that they "may be at capacity" by the designer, Anastasia. I then asked, you may be at or you are at capacity? She then was EXTREMELY rude and said we are. I took a quick look around the store to see maybe 13 people MAX. I then said, because I had called the store prior to driving over 40 minutes to this location to find out capacity regulations and guidelines that the pre recorded message informed that 35 were allowed in the store at any given time, I was under the understanding due to your recorded message that 35 were allowed at a time. She then said that wasn't true, so I asked what their capacity was then to find out how long my family and I would wait to enter the store. She was extremely frustrated by ANY questions and said the capacity allowance was none of my business and that was to their discretion. It was made ABUNDANTLY clear that she did not want my children in their store. As we are speaking she is continuing to allow other adults into the store while "being at their capacity". After questioning their rules and guidelines she asks my family and I to leave the store. Upon calling the manager, Kelly, she was very defensive of the incredibly rude designer, Anastasia. I will also note that I came into the store looking for a different fabric option because the original sofa and fabric option I had ordered was delivered TWICE to my home DAMAGED. I really like West Elm. Their furniture is exactly my style and I think the look of their stores is very welcoming and attractive. I was glad when they opened a location in Boulder and I've had the opportunity to buy some furniture there. I will say, however, that the customer service in this location is seriously in need of improvement. During my most recent purchase I interacted with four people. One of them was great and and nice to talk with and helped me very much. The other three acted like they were doing a favor by letting me shop in their store and were dismissive and unfriendly in our interactions. It was very odd because I was spending a significant amount of money in their store and I honestly experience more consistently polite and friendly service at my local Starbucks. I'm not sure if people are just working here for the store discount and don't really care about customer service as a result, but I honestly am considering taking my business elsewhere after this most recent experience. read more
