This place is adorable! Lots of local made or small company items. I love the stationary the most - very creative, fun, and funny. The lotion up front smelled amazing hours after I tested it so now I def want some!

    The store front. May.

The handmade furniture here was really beautiful and of good quality, but I have no need for any of it now. However the store has many small items from home decor pieces to inexpensive jewelry that are handmade and quite nice. There was a broad variety of styles too and I saw a cute little ring that my husband treated me to. It was fun in the store too, with very friendly staff.

We were very sad about our prospects until we met Lee at Boulder Furniture Arts. The clouds parted, and we became happy again (and this is not literary hyperbole, I promise you). Lee took a lot of time with us, discussing exactly what we wanted and how we could make it fit within our price range, and we exchanged many e-mails. Throughout the entire process, he's been thoughtful and very friendly. The result is that we've ordered two gorgeous, eco-friendly solid cherry desks at reasonable prices, and we're both tickled pink at how our office is going to look. He really did make us incredibly happy with his excellent service and attentiveness to our needs, and we enthusiastically recommend Boulder Furniture Arts for that reason. Don't waste your money buying particleboard furniture made in China--go talk to the fine folks at this wonderful store, and you'll be thrilled at what you end up with.

The picture online looked perfect but the staff member was unsure of the exact location and gave us three suggestions. We found it on the first one as I thought that was most likely given my previous visits in years past. We did check her other suggested options but none seemed as right as the one I had seen online. While looking though we did run into an impulse buy chocolate option but sadly discovered at home, not as good as the product it was copycatting and I regret the purchase. Lesson learned yet again, get what you came for with research in advance. It's a big store with lots of options for specific sorts of goods, but quality varies by departments.

For $12.99 you can get some candy cane and tree shaped sprinkles, along with blue shiny ornament balls, and some other fun decorations. They also have a Hello Kitty miniature version for about $8. Looking elsewhere at fancier food stores this season and you'll pay at least $20-25 for the almost the exact same thing! Plus, World Market has icing and some cute cookie/gingerbread kits if you're not one to make everything from scratch. Also, it gives me an excuse to browse the aisles and buy other stuff I don't really need.

I took…read morethe Cast-Iron Cooking class with Chef Cameron and learned to make Grilled Chicken with Chimichurri Sauce, Charred Cast-Iron Green Beans with Lemon Vinaigrette, Griddled Flatbread, and a Skillet Brown Butter Cookie. Everything was delicious! The class was smaller than expected, which turned out to be a huge bonus for me since I got lots of hands-on instruction and attention, plus I got to take home some very tasty leftovers. Even better, the class fee included a 10" Lodge Cast-Iron Skillet to take home, so I walked away with both new skills and a great piece of cookware. And because I had a 10% coupon, I picked up a couple of cast-iron skillet holders, too. A really enjoyable afternoon, a great instructor, delicious food, a chance to interact with the retail staff who are always helpful, a complementary cappuccino from a ridiculously sophisticated and expensive machine, and a new skillet to put to work. I'd definitely take another Sur La Table cooking class!

Extremely disappointing experience and nowhere near worth almost $100 per person - I rarely leave…read morenegative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I feel other people should know what they are paying for. My husband and I received this 2-hour sushi class as a gift from our son. I've taken about six cooking classes previously, and unfortunately this was hands-down the worst experience I've had. The class description said we would be making Shrimp Tempura Rolls, Yuzu Dipping Sauce, Crab Inari Sushi, Avocado & Vegetable Hand Rolls, Sushi Rice and Yuzu Sorbet. What we actually experienced was very different. From the beginning, the class seemed disorganized. They apparently expected 8 people, but 11 showed up, and there didn't seem to be any system for checking people in or confirming who was registered. We stood behind a counter for the entire two-hour class -- no stools or seating, and just water not even have napkins to wipe your hands. There were also NO printed recipes, which I've never experienced in a cooking class. We had nothing to follow along with, take notes on, ask questions etc... We didn't even have our own cooking stations and had to share with so many others some people just had to watch. Very little actual cooking or instruction took place. We sliced some carrots, cucumber and avocado and deep-fried a FEW tiny baby shrimp (see pic below). That was essentially it. The assistants repeatedly took away our knives, cutting boards and other equipment to wash them while we were still trying to use them, so we had to keep retrieving what we needed. Even more disappointing, several of the items advertised as part of the class either weren't made or weren't taught. I don't recall if she made the Yuzu dipping sauce, think she talked about it, but I didn't have any dipping sauce and the soy sauce to dip our hand rolls in came so late we had eaten them already. There was no mention at all about the Yuzu sorbet or how to make they just put it in front of us at the end of class. They also ran out of rice, some people had to share a roll. And then there was the shrimp! For two people, we received maybe 6 tiny shrimp about the size of my thumbnail. I took a photo before we rolled our tempura roll (see below) because I honestly couldn't believe that was the amount of food provided for two people paying close to $200. The instructor herself was knowledgeable, pleasant and clearly educated about the subject. My criticism is not about her personally. The problem was the overall execution of the class and the enormous disconnect between the $100-per-person price, what was advertised, and what was actually provided. It was also difficult to hear much of the instruction, which made an already disorganized experience even more frustrating. For almost $200 per couple, I would expect an organized, hands-on cooking class with adequate ingredients and equipment, recipes to take home, instruction on all of the advertised dishes, and enough food to actually prepare those dishes and enjoy a dinner. We received none of that. Based on our class, I absolutely could not recommend it at this price. I would give it 1 star for the experience/value, with the acknowledgment that the instructor herself was kind and knowledgeable.
