I absolutely love Jacque Michelle! I make special trips to Boulder just to visit the store. I always find the perfect gifts for my friends. I love the variety, from soaps to jewelry, to the funniest coasters I have ever read. The ladies in the store have always been very kind. Found a beautiful leather purse that was fairly expensive ($175), but after playing around with the strap length and loving the quality I decided to buy it, despite the salesperson being sure to point out it was real leather, and the "pleather ones are over there" . It was the old woman with dark dyed red hair that also checked me out at the register, and she was so condescending I almost want to return this thing. She grabbed my keys- already attached to this purse- which I was wearing- and told me they wouldn't accept a return if it looked used or scratched, and I had to pull my keys and new purse out of her hand because she kept pulling at them, as I said "I realize that". If Im spending that kind of money at a place that only offers store credit, I don't intend to return it. Then she said "and the straps adjustable" as if I were oblivious and hadn't been adjusting it for the prior 15 minutes. When I was trying to ask her about their points system she didnt even let me finish my question before rolling her eyes at me and saying "I don't know". Best place for gifts and fun little trinkets. I get clothes there every so often and I love their dinner date with a book surprise books. Absolutely recommend. So rude we turned around and left and will ever be back, and I'll let my local friends know. there was no sign saying you couldn't have liquid drink in store, mine was capped. if she didn't like a drink 8n the store, she could have kindly asked us to leave my cup at the counter and she'd watch it for me. Super unique gift shop owned by a lovely lady who has a wonderful selection of infant, children's and particularly any gift for alllll ages. My cousin wanted a small gift for her toddler aged sister-- they recommended a little white unicorn doll who came in 3 sizes. My cousin picked the small size, because of the petiteness of our baby cousin. We saw dangling butterflies, mostly for $11-24! They had orange colored, white sparkly, and purple butterflies. There were lots of candles shaped of pears and apples who are green, orange, brown, pink and other various colors of candles. Some were scented and some were not. I loved the selection of baby plush dolls, mostly at $15. Some baby tutu's. They were cute too!! I bought a Unicorn decor dish with floral pattern for $24-- super cute. I loved the biblical night lights for $24!! They shine so bright. This small boutique also has a rewards email list. I couldn't sign up just because I live an hour away. But this was wonderful. This little shop is great for gifts, even if it's for yourself. They have a good selection of a more unique nature as well as representing some local artists of various merchandise. I stop in from time to time to check out the selection when I really need a new idea for someone. I have bought a few items but I just like looking sometimes. It's in a little local, historic (from the 50s) shopping center with a landmarked wavy roof. Several other local establishments I frequent are there too, like Breadworks and Sweet Cow. I worked here back in my high school days and didn't make a penny. It's not that I wasn't paid, but hanging out in this cute shop all day, without finding all sorts of cute things to take home is impossible. They have a wonderful selection of cute little knick-knacks, the kind you buy as gifts but never give away 'cause you like them too much; a long wall full of sweet, witty and unique cards; super cute clothes and some great jewelry. Probably my biggest purchase for myself at the time was a pair of earrings and an incredible necklace made out of 2,000 year old Roman glass from Israel. It is created when the glass is buried (probably came from some ruins), absorbing minerals from the earth transforming it into a mica/opal-like material. The jewelry is gorgeous, totally one of a kind and I still get compliments on it today. I found this unique piece staring at me every day from under the jewelry counter at Jacque Michelle's. Nice store, very unfortunate experience. I am a biracial girl from Boulder and felt that I was being racially profiled. I was asked what i was looking for like 4 times, and then one employee RAISED her voice to say "can I help you!?" in an extremely rude and loud tone for every customer and employee to hear. I wish I had gotten her name. My mom (who is white) had heard them talking about me behind the counter and when she questioned why all the employees had been questioning her daughter the employee immediately backed off and tried to cover for herself but we left. I've had many racist experiences in boulder but did not expect to have one here. Buyer beware!! I have shopped here for years, but there have been quite a few changes since it was sold to new ownership, and not for the better. I bought a few gifts there and ended up not giving them, so I took them back, just hoping for store credit, as it had taken me a little while to get back to the store. I was told I had 10 days to make a return for store credit. They wouldn't even consider taking the items back, even though they are still carrying these items at the same price. I was told I should re-gift the items. Thanks for the less than helpful suggestion. Even though I have been a faithful customer for many years, they have lost me. For all you thinking of shopping there, they have great stuff, just be sure of your purchase. I agree with the other reviewers that this store has some cute things. However I've been there a few times, and the lack of service is frustrating, especially in this economy. It isn't difficult to say "Hello" and ask if I need any help. I love this adorable little shop! I've been coming here for years and I know it's my go-to place for a gift for someone you may not know what to get, they have a wide assortment of trinkets as well as beautiful jewelry, clothes, hats, and sunglasses. I also think that the sales girls are always super nice and helpful, which can sometimes be hard to find in little boutiques.
