The kind of place you can wander around for a couple hours without a real plan. Parking is honestly easier than people make it sound. There's plenty on the side streets and I can usually find a spot without circling forever. Once you're there it's all on foot. Biggest thing for me: it's SO dog friendly! Most of the shops let you bring your pup in! Huge plus. There's really something for everyone. Tons of restaurants, clothing stores, and the cutest boutiques. It works whether you're a tourist checking it off the list or a local wanting a nice afternoon. They also sometimes have farmer's markets too. If you're visiting Boulder, definitely would recommend.

I can also always find parking but I may have to walk a bit to my desired location. They also decorate the pedestrian areas with flowers in the spring and summer and decorations around the holidays. I would love to give 5-stars but there have been a few times where I have felt unsafe at this mall. Once in May, I went to the public restroom with a friend and there was a homeless woman living in there who claimed it was her house and threatened us. She was erratic, unpredictable, and it was scary. Another time in May there was a man who was very unstable and screaming the word "slash" and he was acting like he was going to break shop windows and was lunging at people. That was also scary because he was unpredictable. I called the police this day and they said they had already received multiple calls about him. I saw him here again the following day. I also do not like all the people who push me to sign petitions. In short, I love Pearl Street Mall for the most part, I just wish it had more security to ensure the safety of pedestrians who are patronizing it.

The nicest and most practical upgrade has been the eating pavilion. For coffee shop serving a nice place to take your various drinks and pastry selections. They are now using baked goods from Spruce Confections, a Boulder cafe staple. So much to choose from. We had both iced tea and lemonades among us on a hot sunny day. And what grandparent could refuse a grandchild request for a honey stick? Not us. We had a nice shady place to sit and cool off on a brilliant Saturday morning. There is also much in the way of souvenir items, hats, shirts, and so much more to fondly remember a stop at famous Chautauqua.

They were the cutest and we were able to snag the shirt in multiple different colors with the same design on them, so they were matching, but also slightly more unique in their own ways. This place is a great stop at the beginning AND end of your visit to Boulder and Pearl Street Mall because trust that you will not find anything cuter! I have been down recently but mostly on the more eastern blocks and mostly for restaurants. Though many wonderful longtime shops were lost in recent years as a result of the pandemic, some of the spaces are being filled. The eclectic mix of gift items, practical and decorative was nice to see here. Our guests found some mementos of their trip and I found a specific type of cloth dinner napkin I had been looking for recently. Soft, thin and flexible, all cotton and subtle patterns and colors to go with nearly everything. A set of 4, coordinated but not identical. So nice, I bought two sets as we often have 5 or 6 seated when we have guests. They were not inexpensive, but not exorbitant either. I will stop here again when looking for good gifts or unusual and well made novelties. Staff was friendly and helpful. A nice addition to Pearl.

I'll have to order some more later since they ship out of state. I tried the mead flight - SBC Traditional, Orange Blossom Traditional, Black Madonna, Rhythm and Blues, Grateful Head, and Prickly Pear. It is located in the back and is so cool! An entire Mead bar, complete with flights to try. Every pour was delicious and refreshing. I had forgotten how much I enjoy Mead. The Meadtender was super friendly and cute. I didn't get his name, but he was very personable, explained each Mead and recommended some to try. How fun! Sometimes fun is all you mead.
