The bride and groom displayed MY GIFT at the approach to their wedding venue! I know they were happy!!

Didn't think of Yelping an embroidery operation but seeing it reviewed here I have to chime in - Initial Impressions has been my go-to business for baby and wedding gifts for many years now. I particularly appreciate how Peg has worked with me to create exactly the right gift when what I have imagined isn't readily available elsewhere - things like a "Mc" monogram for my friends the McIntyres, or getting a more rustic wedding gift than was available at the time. Very happy here!

Pulled in the colors I wanted and offered a filigre very close to the existing towels. My husband likes them, too!

I wanted some washclothes with our family initial monogrammed on them, and I wanted them to blend in with some towels I already had. I contacted Peg at Initial-Impressions and asked her to "do her magic" and she did. I love them!

    Custom Satin Blanket

I was in need of custom pieces for my son who had been hospitalized since birth. I contacted the owner with my order and she was very helpful and friendly. She made sure everything I wanted was perfect and even expedited my shipping despite the holiday season. Communication was 100%. My items were neatly wrapped and made exactly how i envisioned them to be. I highly recommend this company and will be ordering again soon.

Peg was great to work with. She beautifully embroidered 7 gifts on short notice. Great quality and reasonable price.

Deceitful Evil Bad Business!…read more The woman who was working behind the counter seemed like she owned the place, but either way she had HORRIBLE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP skills. Scam! My daughter showed me a photo of a lamp she wanted there and I described it to the only person working there that evening. The worker woman knew which one it was and started leading me to it. I saw it on the shelf, but she walked me further to one that was still in a box. She knew the one on display didn't have chipped feet (defective) and she purposely grabbed one that she must have known had several chips on it. She acted like it was better because it was already boxed for me (in a used box, not a nice box that went with the lamp). The perfect lamp on the shelf could have easily been picked up, but she went out of her way to quickly grab the broken boxed one. I guess I am a fool for trusting her. She acted like she was doing me a "favor" by grabbing one that was already boxed, and she wrapped some bubble wrap on it for "safe keeping"- but it was actually to keep me from looking. When I safely transported it straight back to Denver and unwrapped it from the Home Depot used box she had wrapped it in, I then saw that this $120 lamp had chips and broken parts on the decorative bottom. This woman's demeanor was sour and unpleasant from the very beginning, so I should have unwrapped the lamp at the counter and checked it. Silly me trusted that no one would think that because the customer was from out of town, they probably wouldn't return a chipped, defective and overpriced lamp. Premeditated and evil. As soon as she knew which lamp I was describing she immediately went in for the scam and charged full price for a lamp that she knew was broken and then hid it under the pretense that it was a favor. Wow!

I tried for a few minutes to make eye contact with the person at the register before saying something because I didn't want to interrupt the transactions. I was very clearly showing excitement about looking at the rings and smiling. I even told the person checking out "sorry to be right here these rings are great!" And the woman at the cash register didn't look at me. She even started placing the bags right over where I was looking despite there being plenty of room on the other side. I felt very unwelcome and then looked at the person with me and said never mind it's okay we can go! And the cashier said to everyone around me "so impatient. So impatient" several times. You'd think they'd want to encourage excitement over their items, or at least say hi! I was trying to be respectful of their interactions. This person should not have a person facing job. I never leave negative yelp reviews but this was unbelievable. I was ready to spend a decent amount of money on some new rings but will never be back thanks to the rudeness and inhospitality. It's SO easy to be friendly and kind. There's other cute boutiques and stores - avoid this one!

I went to this store mid-day during the week last week, to purchase a gift basket for a charity…read moredonation from my business. I live in the area, and had seen this store several times so I thought it would be a great option, I was wrong. I entered the store, and there was nobody on the floor at all to greet me. I walked around for a while, still nobody. A good 10 minutes later, I still have not been helped. All I could hear was a woman having a very casual phone conversation from the back room. I had announced myself twice, and even asked if "anyone was here" loud enough for someone in the back to hear me. I guess the phone conversation she was having was much more important than an actual customer in the store. From what I saw, everything seemed to be locally produced, but was very overpriced. I am always willing to pay more for a store that gives great customer service, but sadly, this type of retail is what had me going back to amazon. Disappointing to say the least, my business will be going elsewhere.

I wandered into this store after my dental cleaning appointment and immediately got 5 gifts individually picked out and taken care of by Aimee, the owner. What a load off to get those necessities handled in such a quick manner by such a pleasant person! I got five baskets - 2 mens and 3 womens - each different with some Colorado food items, jams, sauces, treats, and Enstroms! The ladies got bath foo foo, lotions and Hammonds! There's no such thing as too much chocolate. The store is new and still getting a few items but I found everything I needed for the out of towners. What a relief. I happened in around the first of December but I'm usually a last minute person and this would be the place to get last minute gifts. Plus it's local, with locally made items - you've got to love that!

After 31 years, I'm done. The last three experiences at Sturtz & Copeland have been awful…read more I've been a loyal patron for three decades. I went to them to do all the flowers at my wedding, have bought many house plants from them over the course of these three decades, etc but these last three instances will make me never patronize their establishment ever again. 1. I bought their bagged soil for indoor house plants to replenish the soil in all my pots. I even asked them about fungus gnats to which the employee confidently stated, "no, never." Well flash forward about a month, my plants of 20-30 years, are now all infested with fungus gnats. 100% came from Sturtz & Copeland soil and confirmed by taking the back outside for day, stirring up the soil contained within and watching the adult gnats swarm. So now I'm battling fungus gnats in every single house plant of mine. Thanks. 2 I bought a $40 snake plant from them and had them repot it in one of their terra cotta pots before I left the store. When the employee there removed the snake plant from their plastic pot she was shocked to see how over watered it was. Even pointing out to me to never let it get this overwatered, "see how the roots and everything is breaking up and breaking down?" She put forth her best effort to repot it but the stalk bunch was clearly falling apart. I got home about 20 mins later and 2/3rds of the stalks uprooted and fell out of the pot. I called the store immediately and explained what happened. They said there's nothing they can do about it because as soon as the plant leaves the store, there is no more warranty. They said to compost the stalks/clumps that fell out. So I was left with the equivalent of a $12 snake plant size in a pot that is way too big for it. Thanks. 3. A friend of mine gifted me a 4" waffle plant, purchased from Sturtz & Copeland. It thrived for months. However it was clearly time to have it repotted. I brought it in to Sturtz & Copeland to size up one of their gray terra cotta pots that I like. The employee there said they'd repot it for free since the plant originally came from them and I'm buying their pot. A week later the plant has lost all its leaves and it completely dead. I called with no hope or expectation of resolution and that's exactly what I got. I tried to continue to love this store since their move but it's not the same. The fact that I'm now battling a massive fungus gnat infestation alone is enough of a put off for me. Combine it with the other two instances and I am confidently never shopping here again.
