Any time of year, Pearl Street is the place to be in Boulder! Spanning almost a half dozen blocks, this pedestrian mall is a great place to visit here. Not only does it have a bunch of shops, but various fun activities through the year! Right now in December, there are great displays of holiday lights, as well as a virtual game! During spring, tulips are king & you can find the big Bolder Boulder Expo and sign up for a race! Summer hosts many food and concert events, as well as the classic street performers. Photo ops abound and the garden planters can be quite beautiful. Freddie's Hot Dogs is a great cheap bite to eat, Ben and Jerry's is always tasty and Pizza Colore is my favorite sit down. I've heard about a million other great places to eat but still need to try them!

A lovely outdoor shopping area, lot of cute shops to explore, beautiful landscape and weekend art market. I love the shopping experience here, it's always fun to walk around and enjoy the city of Boulder.

Great place to stroll! Beautiful flowers (in August), cool stores (Free People, North Face, Helly Hansen vibe...). Really enjoyed walking around

This is a pedestrian outdoor mall type of area that stretches for 2-3 blocks (with active roads crossing through each block) in downtown Boulder and it contains so many super incredible shops and restaurants! Parking is pretty straightforward. It'll be street parking in the blocks surrounding the mall area, so expect to walk a little bit, but there's plenty of spots available so you won't have to park too far away from the mall typically. My friends and I had an afternoon in Boulder after a nearby hike in the Flatirons and we spent the entire time at Pearl Street Mall popping in to different shops. It's not nearly as touristy as you would imagine and it definitely felt more like the downtown area of a college town, given that Boulder has a big college in its city. It is a super wonderful place to spend an afternoon exploring, tons of foot traffic, but not too crowded. A little something for everyone here. There's a bit of a sculpture/play area, so it's kid and family friendly, tons of bar options, and great for both tourists and locals alike for souvenirs (that are classy and unique) and regular shopping options (outdoor gear, bookshops, etc.). Highly recommend! I had a great time at Pearl Street Mall!

    Pretty precise for the area

This is a nice area for walking, browsing, shopping and catching a bite to eat. There are also shops offering sweet treats, including the shaved ice which was great on a hot day.

Located on Main Street, this is a very cool part of the city that combines the outdoor vibe of the city with shopping/restaurants/night life. Lots of cool local shops, bookstores, and eateries within walking distance. You can park for free after 7pm, which is a plus. The homeless population is present and occupies the only public restroom on the shopping street. Must visit for Boulder.

Our 1st time visiting Colorado so we wanted to explore and ended up at Pearl Street Mall. A few blocks of shops, restaurants, boutiques, Cafes, Gelato, Ice Cream & more. Such a nice walkway full of beautiful flower beds, plenty of benches... a peaceful feeling. We had lunch at Pasta Jay's, which was delicious! Then went on walking and shopping around at different stores, made a stop at Capital One Cafe for a nice latte, then off for ice cream... simply an amazing day here for us, so we're happy to have found it.

Definitely a highlight of Boulder, CO! This is a huge outdoor mall that goes on for several blocks. There's great stores like athleta, lululemon, local shops, stores with Colorado swag and tons of eateries! The last block especially has several restaurants that offer Mexican, Asian, Italian and American cuisine. I love going the Ben & Jerry's for ice cream and there are beautiful flowers and benches to sit at to enjoy the view and people watch. Careful of the street performers because they'll try to suck you in and ask for money!

I don't really enjoy shopping, but this outdoor mall is set against a mountain view. It is a pleasant stroll. I ended up having lunch here and stopped in a few shops. Mainly metered parking but there are some free 2 hr. spots. I spent more time here than I thought I would. Good for families as there are a few mini play stations

    So festive!

A super happenin' outdoor mall located in downtown Boulder's historic Pearl Street district. This part of town is filled with tons of unique shops, restaurants, and historical landmarks. The buildings are colorful and the streets are bustling with locals and tourists alike. It's an area that remains festive all throughout the year with eye catching decorations. At any given time, you'll see several different types of street performers and local vendors selling unique handmade crafts. It has its' fair share of homelessness but it's not rampant. They keep this walking mall very clean and attractive. If you're a foodie or bar hopper, this area has TONS of options to choose from. Parking is limited to the street with a few parking lots sprinkled all throughout, and it's pretty much all paid parking. They have several events ranging from live music to street parties to weekly farmer's markets. Pearl Street Mall is also very family friendly and is a great place to bring children. It's one of the most popular landmarks in Boulder and for a good reason.

Peaceful and relaxing pedestrian walking street full of antique shops and specialty stores! Unlike those commercial streets or malls, this one has its own characteristics!! Charming and beautiful streets! Clean and comfortable! Love the nice weather here! Date of visit: 5/19/2024

Love this street! Filled with Dead Heads during the 3 Boulder shows at Colorado State. Lots of shops.

No one goes to Boulder without going to Pearl Street. We walked around and shopped and it's still a fun area with great stores and vibes.

What time do most stores close?

Highly variable by day of week and type of store. Best to check each store's website. Very few open past 8pm most nights, some close as early as 6pm either every day or at least part of the week. Not many open past 5 on Sunday. Not like an indoor… Read more

Nestled behind the Sussex One building (visible from 30th) has its own parking garage. To note there are 3-4 spots outside the garage for oversize vehicles. Think the garage has marred many a roof rack in its day (I've seen at least one car try to squeeze through). The entrance to get into the building is also in the garage so if you are on foot or on bike be sure to head straight inside. There are several bike racks peppered around the garage just be sure to remember your lock. When you enter the building at the garage level you'll find a list of businesses & locations as well as an elevator should you choose to forego the stairs. On the 2nd floor is a very interesting garden which was designed by the architect in the 70's (met a friend of his today in fact). There are bathrooms on both the 2nd (northwest side of building near the hair salon) and 3rd floor (in the north east corner). The businesses contained within vary quite a bit. From physical therapists, counselors, Pilates studio, publishers, healers (various massage and acupuncturists), fishing company, hair salon, and background check services. The vending machine also offers quite a selection (you'll pass it on your way to the bathroom on the 2nd floor). Loads of ordinary cookies and crackers as well as $2.50 Justin's' peanut butter cups, cans of Yerba mate, coconut water, and my favorite unique item a salmon lunch kit (no, I have and will not be trying this). If you find yourself there at lunch you may find yourself a bit out of luck if you have to hear something up or want to wash a dish or two as there is no communal kitchen area. Interesting place worth checking out, particularly if you are looking for a healer (I recommend Mind Body Wisdom).

It was quite…read morethe place to shop out of the downtown Boulder area back in the 1980's but in the last two decades it had lost many of its traditional tenants. As the vacancies were remedied by upstart south Boulder branches of several popular eateries and a major grocery along with the relocation of a few other businesses, it began to fill up. And then the Center itself began a major remodel a year ago. Redesigned parking, landscaping, sidewalks, entrances etc and it is now mostly done. I find myself using this shopping center much more again. Under the Sun, Pharmaca, Sweet Cow, Shuttles, Spindles and Skeins, the venerable Weaver's Dive and Travel and Neptune Mountaineering. And the brand new branch of Moe's Bagels and at this time of year, a convenient H & R Block. I see lots of patrons at Southern Sun, Walnut Cafe Southside, Murphys South, Snarfs, Play it Again Sports and of course, the big new Luckys. I am glad to see this renovation. I used this center a lot back in the 80's when there was a family owned bookstore, a children's clothing store, a mini department store (Eakers), a Hallmark Card shop, a Baskin Robbins, etc. It looks so good again. I will certainly be shopping here as there are now so many nice options.

Of course, first and foremost has been its main anchor, the venerable store for nearly everything from nuts and bolts to kitchenware and paint as well as animal supples and tools, lawnmowers and lightbulbs, sporting goods and clothing. You get the point. McGuckins! With absolutely wonderful staff and management. See my review for this great place. Another current favorite is Rincon Argentino, the best empanadas around and luckily for me, they are not fried, so much healthier and authentic to have the high heat baked style. See my review of them for specifics. My husband still uses Aspen Eyewear, another longtime favorite though I cannot, sadly needing a medical supplier but since the year that they opened, they have been our mainstay for glasses. See that review too. Grandrabbits, still the best wonderful carefully curated toy store in town. Though unfortunately we do not need them as much as in the past, as not only have our children gotten too old for most items, even our grandchildren have gotten beyond most of their range. But always nice for that special gift for any child. I used PakMail just the other day. Great for specialty shipping needs (which I did a few times) as well as supplies for do-it your self types like me. And though I have not been recently to Wood Grain Bagels, the French Cafe or Great Harvest Bread, Vitality Bowls, Brewing Market, they are appear to be thriving. Same for Sprouts. Also, Osakas, for Japanese fare which opened just before the pandemic but was enjoyable before as well as recently. Glad they could make it through the last few tough years. Check those reviews too. Sadly we lost a really great place at the beginning of the pandemic, wonderful Zolo Grill where we ate countless meals since its opening back in the mid 90's. But Big Red F Group still maintains several other options here in Boulder as well as elsewhere. They sure have grown. The old Boulder Ski Deals has been replaced by Epic Mountain Sports which I have not had a need to use, but Boulder Ski Deals was great for many years for some of our needs. There are a few empty spaces in the shopping center from the businesses recently gone, some we used, some we did not. But I am sure the management of this center will find suitable additions as times improve. And there is lots of parking unless there is a major holiday. Then, come early, in a smaller vehicle, carpool, and be creative.
