A whole line of cars Could not get out of the parking garage due to a gate malfunction. We were trapped for 30 minutes.

There's currently massive construction going all around the downtown Denver area, including this shopping area, so there's not much in terms of shops, restaurants, etc. but there is an effort! Its nice that even though it's a smaller outdoor shopping mall, they decorate with Christmas lights and mini trees here and there. So far, I've been to the Ku Cha, It's Sugar, and Hot Topic here but there's a CO souvenir shop for tourists, an H&M, Sephora, and a theater. Nice that they have free buses to and from here as well. Hopefully with the growing pains out of the way, there'll be more in the form of shopping, entertainment, and other food options in the future. read more

I was excited to come back to Denver Pavilions and see what they had, but unfortunately it was not like as it was compared to my last visit, which was maybe 10 years ago. :( If you're looking to go shopping here, then you'll be in for a big disappointment. To describe Denver Pavilions today is very sad and tired, with only a handful of retail stores left, such as Sephora, Hot Topic, and H&M. I remember going to Forever 21 the last time I was here, but sadly they had closed. The rest of the occupants left are just restaurants, a movie theater, an arcade, and a bowling alley. I think maybe at least 75% of space was vacant, mostly on the second and third floor. The only places that I visited were IT'SUGAR and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It was just not interesting being here at all. Also, the entire 16th Street Mall in front of it is all torn up and under construction, which can be a pain to access. Who wants to listen to all that loud construction noise while shopping/dining at an outdoor mall? Malls are becoming a thing of the past these days, which is sad but true. I guess some things are not as good as you remember before. read more

This is a small outdoor mall area in downtown Denver. There are three levels, and the whole area is only about the length of one, maybe two blocks? But there was a cute souvenir store, an H&M, and a Francesca's - which are places I tend to seek out! They had a really cool looking traditional Chinese tea shop, a theater, and a candy store too, among other places. It looks like a fun place to hang out during the day or with friends! read more

Convenient mall in a popular area. Denver Pavilions is a pretty big place. It has many national stores. Also there's local businesses. This has all kinds of entertainment and shopping. Endless possibilities for eating and shopping here. It has several levels. There's escalators but the last time some weren't working. Among the businesses here is a bowling alley. There's also a large theater. It has several ways to get to, with the best being the free 16th Street bus. There's also parking but there's not much space. It has some ways you can save money here. Pretty cool outdoor mall. Some of the stores were not reopened yet while we were in town but visitors can find some cool deals in the stores that are. There is a whole strip of restaurants and bars lined up on the other side of the mall which is fun to walk through. Masks are required even when outdoors. Who ever the managers or owners of this place are really need to start printing the bathroom code on receipts only and not just letting people know what it is cause the amount of crack heads and meth users they allow in is just ridicules. Also make the signs bigger because people seem to be to stupid to know that they are not open for use even with the tiny signs that are posted as well as the keypad locks on the doors. read more

This is a shopping center in downtown Denver. The shops span 3 floors and two blocks. The section of Glenarm Pl between the two blocks is closed to vehicular traffic. There are about 25 shops. It might look like more in the directory, but only because it lists some stores 3-4 times. read more

Very convenient to have a mini-mall in downtown Denver --- especially with budget / value priced options for eating, entertainment, and shopping in an area that can be quite pricey. The Best View of Denver at the top of the mall is a nice place to take a fun selfie, and during my last visit here there was another spot to take a picture in front of a colorful Colorado butterfly banner. Food options here cover everything from Mexican to Italian to burgers. My biggest draw to here was Motomaki for their delicious and affordable Poke bowls. Overall, not a bad place to stop by if you're in the area and looking for more of an open mall experience. read more

In the summer we stayed in the Homewood Suites across 15th street from the Denver Pavilions (abbreviated DP from here on) for a week. We'd spend sufficient time in the DP. Here we'd have dinner in the 5280 Burger Bar, Grimalidi's, see a movie in the UA Theater, and casually walk around. It was the large "Denver" in DP that shouted out "Welcome to Denver." In the heart of downtown, Denver DP is a two-city open-air mall bordered by Tremont Place to the south, the 16th Street Mall to the east, Welton Street to the north, and 15th Street to the west. In the center, Glenarm Place carries east-west downtown traffic. Opened in 1998, DP is an open-air mall that compliments the older downtown core. It reminds me of Las Olas Riverfront in Fort Lauderdale and Horton Plaza in San Diego. There are approximately 40 shops businesses on three levels. The primary means of reaching the 3 levels is by escalator. Here is a sample of the businesses: Level 1: H&M, 5280 Burger Bar, Corner Bakery, It's Sugar, Grimalidi's, and Maggiano's Little Italy. Level 2: Gap, GNC, I Heart Denver, and Banana Republic. Level 3: Coyote Ugly, Forever 21, Lucky Strike Lanes, and UA Theaters. It is relatively easy to arrive in DP from downtown. The free 16th Street Mall shuttle includes a few stops. This provides a connection to the light rail lines that connect Union Station to the suburbs. Beneath DP is an underground parking garage. Without validation it costs between $4 and $18 to park here. It is easily accessible to Uber and Lyft. After the Denver Zoo, our Lyft driver dropped us off at Glenarm Place in front of Grimalidi's. When reviewing malls, I think it is critical to take into consideration "retailtainment." What "retailtainment" is is retail marketing as entertainment. It is the marriage of shopping and entertainment to draw customers. At DP, the primary retailtainment spot is "The Great Wall." This is the name for the giant D-E-N-V-E-R marque. It is a very popular, and if not the most popular photo spot in Denver. Up on the third floor I did the obligatory D-E-N-V-E-R photo. The secondary retailtainment is the Downtown ambience. The third floor is likewise a prime location to photograph the historic Paramount. The DP contingency to the 16th Street Mall creates a richer shoppertainment experience. DP is truly a horseshoe extension of the 16th Street Mall. DP to the 16th Street Mall is what the half beltway is to a primary Interstate. The 16th Street Mall compliments DP with several businesses. This includes 4 Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, McDonald's, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Paramount, souvenir shops, and so on. It further compliments DP with a free bus between The Capital and Union Station. From my visits, this paragraph shares the pros/wins. It is very convenient to the 15th Street hotels creating a gateway into downtown. It is immaculately clean. As far as graffiti I saw zilch. This added to the perception of safety. I appreciate that the underground parking garage conserves downtown land. When it came to dinner, we had a few nice meals in its restaurants. When it came to entertainment we saw a movie in its UA Theater. The D-E-N-V-E-R sign is a tourist win. The biggest win is its connection to the 16th Street Mall and downtown. As far as cons/losses in my opinion loosing B&N is the biggest loss. Many of the businesses are identical to any mall USA. If I was arriving by car, DP would be a long distance from I-25. My five visits to DP leads me to the impression that it is a perfect example of the sum being better than the parts. As a part of the Downtown landscape it provides a unique mall to spend time. However, if DP was isolated from downtown or a major attraction, it would be an ordinary mall to spend time. read more

An outdoor shopping plaza with several floors and multiple locations to shop. I can see how this is a tourist draw, but if I were a local, I probably wouldn't go here. It's in the heart of downtown, by the financial district and convention center. We were able to walk here from our hotel, which made it really convenient and easy to get to. However, if you're driving it might be difficult to find a parking spot to be able to get over here which is why is a local I probably wouldn't come here. They have a variety of chain retail shopping locations. It also offered up a couple of different restaurants and a large movie theater. You could either opt for the escalator or the elevator to go to the variety of floors that were on offer. The movie theater was all the way at the top. The stores that were here are the same that you find at almost any mall. So if you're not located in the downtown area where you can walk here I would suggest skipping this and going to a mall in the area closer to where you are. Overall: B Standard chain stores, hit them up if walking distance. read more

This theater is typically not crowded and they validate parking which is great. However, if you ever are in one of the upstairs theaters everything is just dirty. The table trays are always sticky and there has been the same coffee spilled in the last stall of the bathroom across from the theaters for the 6 months I've been coming here, so they clearly aren't cleaning well enough, especially under covid standards. read more

I used to enjoy coming to the Denver Pavilions, especially the Regal UA movie theaters. Today I arrived in the parking garage, giving myself plenty of time before showtime. That's when the issues with this formerly nice place began. First, the elevators in the parking garage going up to the shopping area were not working. Both the up and down buttons had been pressed when I got there. After waiting for about five minutes I decided nothing was coming my way. There were no signs indicating any issues or how to get from one level to another. I decided the only way out of the parking garage was to locate stairs.. Upon reaching ground level I discovered both the up and down escalators were boarded off, with the glass broken out in some portions. In my experience over the years these escalators are normally non-operational at least 50% of the time. Now you can't even use them as stairs. Having no options other than taking actual stairs, I climbed up to the second level. That's where I discover there are NO stairs leading up to the third level where the theaters are. Awesome design there, mister architect. I walked from one end of the shopping center to the other and find the only other escalator (which does go up to the third level) is ALSO boarded up. Again, there are NO stairs anywhere leading up to the third level. Can't get there from here. There were nearly two dozen customers wandering around in this ridiculous, aggravating maze, wondering how to get anywhere. I could go on but I won't. This place formerly had many decent destinations for shopping, dining and entertainment. Now it's like walking through a poorly maintained, half-empty, post-apocalyptic wasteland. I won't be back any time soon. read more

If you'r downtown stop at the Denver pavilions because they have everything here including, United Artist movie theater, Coyote Ugly, Great Italian restaurants, (Maggiano's and a new one Grimaldi's), Bath and body, and tons of clothing shops like H & M, Express, and Forever 21- This place has been through many changes this last decade or so- My last trip was this week and sadly I had not noticed the recent change and this had disappointed me,... They are replacing my favorite store - Barnes and Noble And opening a new store which to me is nothing more then a (Japanese Gap) called UNIQLO-:( Really !!! The best thing about this mall is the ease and accessibility. Located downtown, there's a free trolley that runs down the entire street so that you can easily hop on and off to get to the Pavilions and then any other restaurant or shop that you are looking for. The Pavilions has a movie theater, bowling alley and variety of shops and restaurants. While you're here, be sure to stop into 5280 for ice cream or a burger. After eating, you can get your shopping on in many of the chain stores that are in this outdoor shopping complex or try out one of the local specialty shops. In order to access the bathrooms, you need a code from one of their retailers. read more

I was drawn to this shopping center because of the cool Denver sign outside, which I got a shot of, as many tourists do. Once there, I decided to walk around and ended up at the I Heart Denver store, looking for some gifts to take home. I'm sort of past the "I love shopping" stage of my life, which simultaneously drained my bank account and fueled the economy in my early 20s. Man, I'm glad I'm far away from that now. Like a decade away from it. Yeah, I know! It's all downhill from here. Anyway, I didn't find Denver Pavilions to be an extraordinary outdoor shopping complex. From the second floor, I did observe a performing clown on the sidewalk and let myself get entertained for a few minutes. I ended up getting myself a funky bicycle t-shirt at the aforementioned store and said, "To hell with anyone else." I'm sure this is a decent place to go shopping, both for locals and out-of-towners. Honestly, I don't think the Pavilions puts up any pretense about what it is but there are so many more interesting places to visit in Denver that I'm not apt to recommend that you go out of your way to come here. This is really a fun place to come and kill a few hours. The restaurant selection is very diverse with lots of fun choices. And there's a nice selection of other things as well, including a Starbucks nearby, a bowling alley, several bars and drinking spots, and lots of clothing stores. The United Artists theater is handy also. The parking garage is nice, but parking fees in downtown Denver have risen steadily in recent years, and today, for example, the garage was full and we ended up paying $35 for parking. A decent place to come to get some shopping done. We stopped here on our road trip after Adam admitted he packed all of his dress clothes in our zippy shell while moving and he was going to need them before our stuff got to us. We went to a few shops before finding what he wanted and needed. There is a pretty good variety of stores and you can get everything you need. They have all of the typical chain stores but some random and local ones as well. It is in a good spot that is convenient. An easy place to get what you need or want. read more

This place is just like any typical mall, it is outdoors so just be aware of that. There is about three levels of stores that interests a variety of folks, along with restaraunts. The Forever 21 store has two levels with an escalator. Parking for the mall is close to Forever 21, for about $7 on the weekends, but there's also street parking which works too. There are also local shops across the street and just a good area to stroll with all the shops nearby. The mall is also in walking distance to the convention center and other things downtown. There is a shuttle that routes through the center of the mall if you would prefer. The mall isn't too fancy, pretty basic, but you'll find things you'll want or need. Really nice outdoor shopping street area in downtown Denver. Love the outside of 16th street of all the shops and how you can see everything. Lots of sketch people around bc it's downtown so make sure to be aware of that when you are here. DT parking is pretty bad and everywhere you have to pay up to max $20. Took us awhile to circle around to find some decent parking. I feel like if you are coming to shop then you should be able to get your parking validated for like 2-3 hours. Shouldn't be fair to pay so much to park when you are going to already be paying to practically be there for shopping. I understand it probably doesn't go hand in hand but it would be a nice thing to have for those who actually want to be there to purchase items and not just wander around so you don't have to expect to fork over up to another $20 just to park for like an hour. read more

We really enjoy the Denver Pavilions! We shop quite a few of the 40 stores and restaurants there: like Bare Minerals, Maggiano's, Corner Bakery, Claire's, Barnes and Noble, Bath and Body Works, Hard Rock Cafe, Jazz @ Jacks, I Heart Denver, and others. The facility is always clean. Many shopping centers, malls, etc., are not kept up. The Denver Pavilions' is clean, management cares. I appreciate that. The parking garage, which is easy to access from either Glenarm or Welton, off of 15th, is nicely lit, and it holds quite a few cars. Oh, if you park there, and go to a movie, just validate your movie ticket inside the main doors of the theatre, and your parking is free - at least up to 2 hours or so. Anyway, we usually can find a parking space in the garage, which is nice. I know we don't have to find parking on the street, at a meter, and I do appreciate that. We like the Pavilions for numerous other reasons, but another big one, is that the Pavilions is located along the popular 16th Street Mall. There is a free shuttle bus that runs up and down the mall, stopping at each corner on both sides of the street. We especially love walking around the mall during the holiday season, as it's beautiful with the lights. So, enough said. Please go check out the Denver Pavilions. The proximity of this outdoor mall is easily 5 stars. It has the elements of any basic mall such as a Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, and movie theater. The candy shops downstairs are a great place to visit before catching a flick and well situated. The selection of stores is poor and seem to edge on the side of boutique-y or slightly higher priced. Another headache is the parking. YES you must pay for all your parking and the only validation is if you watch a movie. You could spend a few hundred dollars here and still pay a premium rate for parking unfortunately. The elevators for the parking garage are also slow and outdated for the type of experience pavilions claims to offer. read more

Denver Pavilions reminded me of the Hollywood and Highland Center in California. It's a definite tourist trap and not worth the visit in my opinion. If you're looking for shopping, you're better off at the Cherry Creek Mall or LoDo. And if it's food you're after, there are so many better places to dine at. Don't waste your time or money here. So full disclosure we kind of literally stumbled upon this outdoor mall by accident/ we were down the street for the people's festival and first Saturday at the museum. My hubby and I were riding the b cycle bikes around after the museum and festival and sort of just said oh this looks different let's check it out also they have b cycle kiosks there which was awesome and convenient. First impressions were that it was a Mashup between downtown San Jose and an almost but not really Grove in LA. We thought this because there seems to only be pedestrian, horse drawn carriages, bikes/ bike taxis, and some free mall shuttle bus service through the middle. The layout is pretty typical of outdoor malls, it was a mall so basically all the mall shops which was handy because me being me and never knowing what the colorado weather would bring was overdressed and sweating it out so we hit H&M up for us both to get summery clothes instead of hinterland clothes we were wearing. We also checked out the corner bakery for some coffee and pastries which were decent and the ladies working there were super stoked to give us touristy ideas. Meanwhile we checked out Henry's tavern got mojitos, cooled off for awhile and headed back to our $20 parking spot to head down to Super Juan's pollo after a fun day in Denver. Overall impressions, if you're not familiar/ visiting or checking out the surrounding area cool, check this place out, if not you're not missing anything special. read more
