After searching unsuccessfully online and at a bunch of stores in-person for a well-built round dining table that was a size and color we liked (and getting several unaffordably high quotes from other local custom furniture makers), we reached out to Drew. On the first phone call, he immediately provided several great ideas around potential materials and designs that we hadn't previously considered to help us build our perfect dining table while keeping the project within our budget. He also talked with us about our general design preferences and the choices we'd made elsewhere in our home to make sure that it would be a great fit for us. Based on those first conversations, we also asked him to build a matching credenza sized to fit our space, and both pieces came out even better than we had hoped. Drew was friendly, flexible, and communicative throughout, and took the time to make sure that everything would be exactly the way we wanted (including making a bunch of different wood stain samples for us to check out). The dining table is perfect for us - it has a beautiful modern mix of steel and oak that looks amazing while also being very solid (great since we have young kids), and it's perfect for entertaining. The credenza also looks fantastic, and I love the steel base and legs that Drew suggested to help match the style of the table. These pieces are already making our room far more functional and enjoyable (our kids have already claimed the table as a preferred space for doing puzzles together), and the quality and craftsmanship are exceptional. The product selection is solid, but what really stood out is the level of customer service. It's rare these days to find retail staff who go above and beyond, and these two certainly did (even humoring me as I reminisced about my own time working in retail). As a funny side note, I even got the chance to chase after a customer and his dog after he accidentally left a dog bone behind at the counter. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to return it--maybe he'll return for his purchase! While looking though we did run into an impulse buy chocolate option but sadly discovered at home, not as good as the product it was copycatting and I regret the purchase. We purchased from the Yardbird Lone Tree location in Colorado. The Sales Associate told us that the set would be durable (it isn't), that they never have sales (they do), and that they stand behind your product (they don't). After less than 20 uses total, the powder coat is peeling everywhere, the umbrella ripped, and the table boards are warped. Yard Bird's response: Did something happen to your chairs to cause those chips in the paint? Afer several back and forth emails, I was sent a free touch up pen. Seriously? I have provided a copy of the three year warranty and now I can't get any response. Prior to this purchase I had a set for over 25 years and not a single chip. Worst purchase I have made in over a decade.
