Craig is exactly the kind of expert service technician that you hope shows up at your house when you need one. Prompt. Personable. Clearly an expert from years of experience. We own a home built in 1965 and we were having issues with the power running to our garden shed. Craig actually figured it out over the phone with me and showed up within 15min to fix the problem. read more

We requested a new ceiling fan to replace the old one that was up in our family room. Graig did a fantastic job was on time and left our house. Easy as that! If we need any other electrical work he is the first person on my list! Thank you Graig. read more

I had a problem w/a GFI rest on a receptacle that I'd been chasing for 5 days. I called Craig and he responded immediately. He investigated the problem, tested some outlets and fixed the problem within one hour. He's a top notch professional on my list now and I'm recommending him to all my friends. Thanks Craig! read more

Craig responded quickly to an electrical short in a bathroom and a walk-in closet, just a few hours before a home's first showing. He was communicative, personable, professional and got the work completed in a timely manner (hours). My highest recommendation goes to Craig and West Coast Electrical for his fine work at my residence. Respectfully, Greg read more

Craig did a fine job installing a Tesla charger. The reason for the poor rating is because he didn't provide a price upfront and charged me $1,200 for 2 hours of work to install the charger which was only 5 feet away from my main service panel. Every other quote came in at about $600-700. Wish it could've been a more reasonable price and I would've been a return customer, but it feels like he simply charged me an absurd rate because I moved from California. read more

I had a "smart" light switch that was no longer smart. Craig was able to come out within 24 hours of our call and replaced the faulty switch in no time. His pricing was in line with other companies I used in the past and we had a nice conversation while he worked. I highly recommend West Coast Electric and will definitely be calling Craig for any electrical needs I may have in the future. read more

Thank you for your quick response and Immediate service so that I could use my Jacuzzi thank you thank you thank you

I recommend West Coast Electric. Craig was very professional, prompt, explained everything, and cleaned the work area after the job was completed. He has gained a customer for life. 5 stars! P. Walker (Camas, WA) read more

Craig was not only responsive but very helpful in addressing the electrical issue we had. I would definitely recommend Craig and West Coast Electric. read more

Charged us $640 cash to set up our hot tub with wires and a box already there. We thought it was a lot but he waited till after the job to tell us the price and would only except cash. Later that day, we come home, to find the hot tub is not working. We call him back to say, hey our hot tubs not working, come help us! In return, he says, sure for $500 more in cash. When I asked him for a receipt he refuse to give us an invoice, claiming he was operating without a permit and without taxes, basically illegal, and without any guarantees for his work apparently. Confused and dumb we gave him all the cash we had. Called another electrician asked how much it would cost, $125. He came highly recommended. Sad! read more

If you think $350 is a "fair price" for 30 minutes work we'll just have agree to disagree.

Craig replaced an electric panel for us. From our initiL discussion over the phone to the post city inspection we could not have been more satisfied with Craig's services. Craig initially requested a number of photos of the panel, the work area, and the outside meter. He provided a competitive estimate based on the photos and some other specific work related questions. I spoke to an out of state brother, who is a retired electrician, and he indicated that Craig's estimate was fair and that Craig new what he was doing based on the questions he initially ask me. We accepted the over phone estimate and a few weeks later Craig called to set up service. Craig showed up, as promised, at 7:30 am and after about 15 minutes stated working. For the next six or seven hours he worked steadily. He walked me thru the work when he finished and then cleaned up his tools. I wrote him a check for his services and he set up the city inspection for the following day. The inspection went off without a hitch. We could not be happier. Craig is a real good guy, a hard worker, and a skilled electrician. I highly recommend hiring him for your electrical needs. I only wish that I would have hired him a few years ago for a small project that we needed done. That guys that completed that job took half a day to complete a two job and did it poorly. Could have saved myself some time and aggravation if I knew about West Coast Electric then. We plan on using Craig for any future electrical needs. read more

Craig came in immediately and fixed our hvac disconnect pretty quickly and gave a lot of helpful suggestions. He was polite and knowledgeable. read more

We had a electrical work done for a swim spa. Craig was knowledgable, responsive, on time, had fair prices and overall great service. I would definitely use West Coast for future projects. read more

I called and spoke to Craig about a second opinion estimate. He explained to me that for what I wanted done, it is out of his capability cause it required a crew and he is only a one man show at this point. He also told me that the company I have a quote with is reputable and fair. I would very much feel comfortable using West Coast Electric in the future and recommending Craig based on his honesty and professional advice. read more

We recently moved to the area so had no trade contacts. I Googled and Yelped and found West Coast Electric. Craig responded quickly to what I thought was a circuit breaker or GFCI problem. He was very thorough in his diagnostics, removing the panel cover to check all the wiring. As mentioned by another reviewer, he put on booties over his shoes when he entered the house, very thoughtful! He solved the problem quickly so I asked if he could fix a few other little things which he also did quickly. He didn't try to sell me anything and even offered advice on how I could do some things myself. On top of being great at his craft, he's a genuinely nice guy! He's going to be our electrician from now on. read more

I can't say enough good things about Craig at West Coast Electric! After weeks of trying to get our hot tub to work and dealing with all sorts of confusion and troubleshooting with various people, Craig came out very next day and got it all working. He was quick doing the work and punctual. Really friendly and very informative, and explained everything he did and why. If you need ANY electrical work, hot tub related or otherwise, I recommend him highly. I was even able to talk to him on a Sunday evening, expecting to get a voice mail but he picked up and gave us a lot of things we could look at over the phone before coming and charging for a visit. Really reasonable prices for excellent service and work. Thank you Craig!!! read more

Craig did the electrical work for our new hot tub (which is a specialty of his) and a few months later also did some different things around our home (creating new outlets, consulting about different electrical issues, and fixtures). He did a perfect job and we would highly recommend Craig/West Coast Electric to anyone for quality work. read more

Recently called Craig to inquire about some additional wiring that we wanted done at our home shop. Not only did he call back in a very timely manner, he was very detailed in his questions to us as far as our needs. Craig came out and handled our needs in no time at all. We then asked about additional potential things that we might want. He provided the quote and came out the following week to change our canned light fixtures to LED lights. We asked about more items and thankfully, he had the time to take care of those!! Craig at West Coast is the only person that we will call in the future!! Very HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thank you Craig! read more

Craig was very friendly and efficient! He gave us his hourly rate up front. We had some owners previously who cut corners so it was difficult for him to solve the issue. read more

Just as another person wrote Craig at West Coast Electric saved me steps and money. I had just replaced my a/c. It wasn't working. We were pretty frustrated that our brand new air conditioner wasn't cooling very well. It would be on and then click off. I called our a/c company and so they sent out their main guy that said it was working fine but it was our breaker switch that wasn't working. He said we should call an electrician. Soooo I called Craig. He had me take pictures of all the parts to be sure he understood my situation. He was really patient with me because I am unfamiliar with the terms. And we have an old house so the places things are is still rather a mystery. Anyway I finally found the tag with the info he needed. He told my my a/c company should really take care of this because after it was installed they should have checked to see if it was working with the electical system. Sooooo I called my a/c company back and told them (nicely) what Craig was thinking. I told them that the day the unit was installed was really hot, the unit was really heavy and I really do understand that they were in a hurry to get the heck outta here. I do get it BUT I was still in a hot house. The A/c guy was really great too he came out again and switched out my breaker and now we are golden! I am expecting a bill for the breaker but that will be a lot less than a breaker plus labor I would have paid. And perfectly comfortable! This happy ending was because of Craig being honest and patient. He didn't bad mouth the a/c company at all. That company and I are still friends and I will always have Craig in my back pocket. I have an old house that will need electical work and he will be the one I call. I recommend him!! read more

If you need a reliable, honest, customer service-oriented electrician, Craig is your man. Even though he had a lot of work on his plate, he was able to come out to my house within 24 hrs. to fix a switch that had gone bad. Very friendly, polite, and reasonably priced. I will not hesitate to call him again for any electrical work in the future. read more

I needed to change a breaker from 40amps to 30amps and to change over the wall outlet receptacle in order to hook up a new dryer. I put out for a number of bids on yelp. Craig got back to me right away and let me know that he does not work in Oregon, however, he also provided a lot of info on the scope of the work I needed to get done (a lot less than I originally anticipated). Such above and beyond service from someone who can't even take your business shows me that Craig is a genuinely good person who runs a solid business based on taking good care of his customers. If I lived in WA I would hired him in a heartbeat. read more

Craig installed the electric for our hot tub in Feb. of 2015, he did an excellent job. Due to problems with the tub itself it needed to be replaced last month, we hooked it right back up with no problem at all. I highly recommend Craig, this review is late only because somebody was looking for an electrician on the NEIGHBOR site and I offered up Craig's name which prompted me to want to let others know also! read more

When I called West Coast Electric I was on a very short timeline. I had contractors at my house to rebuild my back deck. The outside electrical outlets at my house all had no power. I was frustrated and needed help. When Craig answered the phone and I told him the situation he immediately went into problem solving mode over the phone. With his patient questions he was able to guide me to narrow down the problem and he quickly determined a GFI must be the cause. Because oh his guidance I was able to locate the GFI and turn it back on which brought power back to my outside outlets. He solved my problem over the phone and with no charge. I really appreciate his customer service focus. He even called back a few days later to make sure the problem was resolved. I would highly recommend West Coast Electric. read more

Craig did a great job checking the existing wiring in my garage, correcting issues from previous owners and setting up new 20 amp breakers. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. read more

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, local company who doesn't recommend unnecessary services just to make a few extra bucks. I called Vancouver area electricians extensively (literally about 15 companies) before deciding to go with Craig Swoverland, owner of West Coast Electric. I spoke with him personally on the phone and discussed the issues I was having - he was very very informative, letting me know the possible causes and about how long it would take to fix, not to mention he has one of the best prices and he made time to get me in asap. This really struck a chord with me because I have found that most electric/plumbing/repair companies, particularly large businesses, will only give you bare minimal, if any, information regarding base cost and nothing regarding possible diagnoses or estimated time to complete a project. So anyway the next day, Craig came out and fixed the issues I was having in my house in a timely manner and informed me of another potential problem that he found while doing so, but he also let me know that it wouldn't be necessary to fix unless I am looking to run more electricity in the house (which I'm not). I was happy with his services and will certainly be using him again in the future if a need arises (hopefully it won't!). read more

My heater's thermostat broke and was stuck on high. I called another local electrician and couldn't get an appt for 2 weeks, so I called West Coast Electric and even though Craig was busy today he made a point to come out. Fixed my thermostat and saved me big on electric bills. I'll definitely be calling West Coast Electric again! read more

The electrical outlets in both our upstairs bathrooms quit working. I spoke with Craig on the phone and he told me how to fix it (GFI had tripped). Greatly appreciated him helping me over the phone instead of coming out to our house and charging us! Will definitely call this company for any future needs! read more
