Jim did a fantastic job, replied in less than 24 hours. I was lucky and caught him the day I needed some work done. Professional and courteous, even went a little beyond and did some extra stuff for me. Eastgate Electric was also very competitively priced from the multiple quotes I received in my area. I'm a DIY kind of guy, but sometimes you need a professional, especially around electricity. Cash or check Thanks Jim! read more

Jim (owner) responsive and pleasant. Reliability was an issues with previous reviews, he did call morning of appointment to communicate a 30 min delay. I appreciated his communication. He came with another guy and work was completed and I'm pleased. $145 for house call/work less than 1hr which is great! I will be calling Eastgate/Jim again. read more

I was happy to find an electrician who could come solve an issue with short notice during a stressful time for me. After quite a few hours of work to remedy the situation and a decent size bill, I was extremely disappointed that I had to call him back just a few days later after I realized the state my home was left in. All of the outlets in the room that was worked on would only function if the light switch was on, which was not how I wanted it, and was discussed (nor was it how the room was ever wired!)! I don't know why someone would leave my home in this unusable state and then charge me again to come back and fix it! After the second trip and payment, I tried to reach Jim MANY times via phone call and email to discuss my dissatisfaction to no avail. He will not return any of my correspondence after I've expressed concern over the work that was done and cost. I initially thought I had found someone I could rely on for my electrical needs but I was sorely mistaken. read more

Jim excels in customer service. I can't say enough good things about him. Honest & trustworthy.

Quick and honest. Reasonable pricing. Jim knows what he is doing. Ask him to come and fixed my smoke alarm issue. He did a great job of making sure everything works before he left. Most friendliest guy, you ever met. read more

Quick service, reasonable pricing. East Gate Electric is a great business to work with!

I couldn't be happier with the service. My message was returned promptly and he was able to fit me in the next day. Jim showed up on time and fixed all the weird old-house-previously-owned-by-eccentric-DIYer electrical issues. He charged a reasonable rate and was pleasant to boot. If you'd prefer to support a regular human being who is just doing his job and making a living rather than dealing with some Comcast like arrival-window, maybe we can fit you in in three weeks, jerks, I recommend Eastgate Electric. read more

I gave Jim a call to help us out with getting our aunt's bathroom switches and outlet rewired and fixed up so they wouldn't shock themselves on their brand new bidet seat. He was thorough about checking out the possibilities to make the job as easy as possible, and he was really pleasant to work with. The job was done fast and my aunt was really happy with the work. Highly recommended! read more

Jim was very professional and he did an amazing job. I highly recommend him for all your electricity needs.

Jim was responsive to my request for service and able to come out and fix the problem same day as he had parts he needed on his truck. He is highly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things electrical and make recommendations on future work and balance that with cost effectiveness. In talking with him he does both big and small jobs. I've reviewed some of the other reviews. Keep in mind he is in demand and a sole proprietor so very busy in having to take phone calls while working. It's a good idea to keep in touch with him via text to confirm appointments as he has a lot of business to juggle. He appears to take cash or check for payment. read more

I set up an appointment with Jim for an estimate on some work in my basement. He didn't show up. I called and he said that he had accidentally written it down wrong. Ok, we all make mistakes, I can live with that. We agreed he would come out the next morning. Didn't show up. I don't have time to waste on someone like this. It doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about Jim tearing apart my basement if he can't show up for a 30 minute estimate. read more

Jim came out to do an estimate and said he'd get back to me with the numbers. Never heard from him again.

Not into negativity but.... Had to call three times in a 24hr period and finally got a hold of someone. Basically made me feel like I was bothering him with a phone call. Got a lot nicer once he realized he wouldn't have to deal with me. Is that anyway to treat somebody local, and who could possibly be in need of an electrician for future problems....nope read more

Really disappointed. Read the reviews and thought I would love to support a local electrician in my neighborhood. Talked to Jim once and then I called several times, sent messages and still haven't heard back. Jim- that is not true. I didn't see my email until two days later after I wrote the review. I tried contacting you for an entire week and a half. You could of told me the first day we talked that you were going to be out. But instead left me to believe you could help me. I ordered a fixture that is a couple hundred dollars and if it wasn't going to work then I need to return it. I am also a mother to twins and don't have the time to be sending you 5 text messages in a row and then emailing you. So yes I'm disappointed in the two electricians I reached out to in my neighborhood and I have the right to write a review and say you weren't helpful to me!! read more

Jim came out the day after I called him, he would have come out the same day except for a screw up on my end. We had multiple problems that he was able to fix and get all our outlets and switches working. YAY!! He got here around 4:30 & I think our job ended up being way more than he thought it would be, he was here until 7. Poor guy still had one more job to get to. He did a great job, explained everything and his price was better than we expected. I would highly recommend. read more

Could not be happier with Eastgate! Jim showed up with literally an hour's notice, was honest and up front about what needed to be done, and charged me an extremely good price. I will absolutely be going to Eastgate with any future electrical needs! read more

I needed electrical help quickly. I posted messages on yelp. I quickly received responses from stating they were not available. Jim was the only response who said that he wasn't immediately available but could see me in a couple days and offered a suggested temp fix which was greatly appreciated. When Jim showed up he was thoughtful and quick to fix the problem. I will use his services again. He's a good guy. read more

This was the second company I called. First one wanted to schedule a visit to bid replacing 5 smoke detectors that I already purchased. That didn't work for me. So I called Eastgate and Jim not only gave me a reasonable bid over phone but came out same day. That's awesome service. I think speaking to the actual electrician rather than an answering service is wonderful. read more

I am so incredibly happy with Jim and John's service and highly recommend Eastgate Electric. I am a clueless home owner, and not only did they come out and resolve the issue, Jim took the time to teach me a few things. This is a great opportunity to get prompt and good service at a reasonable rate. read more

What a luck to come across! Jim Campbell is super ethical, totally not about money. And I mean he helped me without trying to trick me into service I didn't need, which most do. And I know this because I work with electricians in various states. I am so glad to have met him! He answered promptly and was super courteous. So thankful to God for him. read more

Stood me up twice. Did not respond to texts and voicemail was full when I tried to confirm that he was coming. I do not recommend Eastgate Electric. read more

Jim is one of the most reliable, respectable and hard working Gentleman and Electricians I've ever met.He recently went through serious surgeries but came out today with casts on and fixed my problems with GFI in two rooms. He was fast and I completely trust him and his hard working Father in my home without me here.I highly recommended folks!!5Stars! read more

What an amazing guy! Jim Campbell is the BEST electrician in America! I work with electricians all over the country, and he is by far the most gracious. He helped me in my own house in Camas. I regret that I am moving and will not have him to rely on in the future. Take your business to him with confidence! Any questions call me 3609805944 read more

Response to my voicemail was quick, and work was done sooner than I could have hoped. Cost was lower than a competitive bid, even. If Eastgate can do the job for you, then you are in luck and can expect to be another satisfied customer. read more

I didn't end up needing Jim after he gave me some tips over yelp message --- and for that he deserves 5 stars. We had blown out our bathroom outlet, could not get it to work again despite trying to reset the breaker. Wrote over a dozen places for quotes and everyone had costs of $150-300, and waits of 3+ weeks for something that was obviously a minor service that we just didn't know how to fix. Or they would ask where I lived before they could give me a quote (not sure why that matters unless you are trying to price people based on their presumed income.) Jim was different from the rest -- simply wrote back with recommended instructions on what to try and to contact him again if it didn't work. It did, at no cost and huge time savings for us. After being jerked around by various contractors, I can't say enough how much I appreciate Jim's kindness. Will be keeping him in mind for when we have a paying job read more

We had Eastgate do several jobs at our house: troubleshoot old wiring in our 100 year old basement and install lighting and switches down there; install a light in our upper stairwell where there was no wiring for one, but where 2-way switches suggested the house had a light there once (he got those working with it too and moved one to a better location); and wire a fan in our gas fireplace for which the connection had been cut during a remodel. Before hiring Jim, we also had another company come by for an estimate. The gentleman from that company doubted the last two jobs could be done due to tight or awkward access. Eastgate took care of it ALL just wonderfully and for a fair price. They are great problem solvers, very efficient, trustworthy, and just all-around nice people. read more

Jim was wonderful to deal with! We just bought a 1950's house with some odd electrical issues. He came out within a week of our call and took time to go over recommendations to get my house up to code & safe. He also installed an outlet in my mother's room who is elderly and requires a lot of medical equipment. Work was done fast, clean and professionally. Jim said to be sure & call him if I have any questions at all, which I did and he was so helpful over the phone! I wouldn't hesitate to use his services again! read more

I initially posted a negative review due to my errors. I appreciate the call I received to inform me of my mistakes. Please disregard the negative review. read more

MINUS ZERO!! What an unreliable outfit!! I have been trying to get someone to answer or return a telephone call for 2 weeks with no response. Eastgate Electric show an address 1122 NE 122nd Ave. Since the address is near our home I decided to visit their office personally..Surprise! they are not located there!! read more

Jim C. does excellent work and very friendly. I would highly recommend him for any electrical works. he hooked up a stain glass that my father made years ago. My wife and I are very happy with his service and will call again for any electrical work. read more

I called regarding an outlet that sparked when I plugged in my vacuum. Of course, every light and outlet on that line was no longer working. They answered right away and walked me through how to fix the problem then and there on the phone. Needless to say I was very pleased! My outlets and lights are all functioning as before. Highly recommended!!! read more

Jim was amazing to work with. I needed to have my electrical box inspected and repaired following a home inspection for a sale on the hurry. Jim came out the next day, on a Saturday afternoon to help me get the project done. He was able to fix all of the problems that the inspector had found no problem. He then showed me what was an even bigger safety concern, that two other electricians and two home inspectors didn't see. He fixed up and cleaned up our electrical box like I'm sure hadn't been done in forty years. He is a old fashioned, hard working tradesman, truly one of the last. I was extremely impressed and very satisfied with his work, professionalism, knowledge and price. I will definitely use him for any future needs. read more

Can I give 10 stars?? After a botched kitchen remodel left some scary-looking wiring in my wall and the stove kept tripping the breaker, I called several companies to get some help with the electrical. They were all several weeks out even just to take a look. When I called Eastgate Electric, I initially hung up when the voicemail gave a different phone number, but called again. John picked up, and asked if they could call me back. Jim called me within an hour, and said he'd stop by that same evening on his way home after work. And he did! It was a Monday. He discovered the issues, diagnosed everything and found the stove was wired up wrong. He promised to come back later in the week, and was super pleasant with loads of advice. He came back Friday afternoon and worked late on all the issues. Then came back and spent his Sunday afternoon finishing up. He is so nice, caring, personable, and our family considers him a personal friend now! If you need electrical done right, or just a diagnosis to confirm, call them, you will not regret it. We had a fire hazard or three, and Jim resolved them. So happy I called them!! read more
