I found Winner Electric on Yelp search while looking for electricians in the east-of-Portland area…read more I needed an assortment of electrical issues addressed on my home. Open junctions, inoperable outlets and switches, questionable wiring, and unfinished projects: these are some of the trappings of owning an older home. Paul came out to do an estimate on our project. I had the project bid by multiple companies. Winner's attitude, willingness to take on the project, and prompt follow up with a quote earned them the job. We had a scheduling mishap, but I won't take stars off for that. It was resolved quickly. I am super happy with the work completed. The electricians came out and worked most of the day in all areas of my home. They replaced breakers, outlets, switches, and resolved loose and unsafe wiring that was downstairs and in my garage. Winner answered my questions, and if something didn't seem right, they worked together to find the root cause of the issue rather than applying a workaround. I was so happy with the work completed, that I hired Winner back a second time, a couple weeks later, to complete the wiring to an outbuilding and reconfigure the wiring in my garage. That work was largely completed Friday - waiting on a part to finish up a couple aspects, but I'm happy with this work as well. I would use their services again, and I would recommend to others.

Sure enough, they'd not tightened down a connection properly. They came back out, removed the unneeded junction box (which they'd initially insisted was required by code) and fixed the problem. PDX Electric is not competent and not safe to use. (This is the first 1-star review I've written.)

We had a flexible date set and he kept me in the loop through the week and provided updates when he was en route. When the work was done it was accurate to his word for cost and time needed. Despite this, John answered my call earlier this morning and was at my front door before 2pm this afternoon. A loose wire in an outlet knocked out 1/2 the power in the house and John and Hunter had it traced down and repaired/replaced in no time, (for real under 20 minutes!) They were courteous and kind and reasonably priced! Also, I appreciated Shelley keeping me updated as to the timeline for their arrival as my situation was very stressful and involved a tight timeline for the repair! While Alex was creating an in-wall media channel for cable management in the living room, he came across an unexpected cross brace between studs that was attached at a 45 degree angle. He went above and beyond trying to get something to cut through it from the media entry point a foot higher. I felt awful. We worked together and got creative and I authorized a small hole in the sheetrock in order to get directly at the brace. Alex made a very small hole and got the work done and the patch job was quick and easy. Took 3x the time it should have if we hadn't stumbled on the surprise. Thank you, Alex!

That's when we called Unity. Brian was out the same day. I regret not making them my first choice. They are transparent about pricing, keep you updated as the project goes along, and just overall very professional. Brian has about 20 years of experience and it shows. He was in and out of our house so fast. Even though the job was a bit more complicated, his expertise shinned. What took the other person (literally) 3 days, took Brian a total of 3 hours. He was intentionally trying to find ways to save me money on labor, which made me trust him. The company and Brian exhibit good character and integrity. This is now my go to company and Electrcian. I needed my panel reviewed and reworked because the plumber had told me my water heater was not on its own circuit and that concerned me. Brian came over for a consultation and I showed him around and all my concerns and how it would be nice to have more lighting in the kitchen since the condo is so dark and the kitchen is in the middle of the unit not near any windows. Brian and his apprentice were punctual, and they only took 2 days to do all the work that was needed. Brian is a gem of a human being, kind, patient, and very well educated. You can tell he knows his stuff and that he enjoys the work. Much to the chagrin of the spiders under the crawl space. Our crawl space is not the easiest to get to but instead of complaining both Brian and Wes treated it like an adventure and I appreciated that that attitude because I felt really bad anytime one of them had to go down there. Brian is our forever electrician now, anything we need in future we will be calling him/Unity first. The work is solid, my kitchen is the brightest it has ever been and I have so much real-estate on my counters now because I can see it's crazy! We won't live in this condo forever but I'm so happy it will be all set for the next owner to enjoy a kitchen they can see in, and an electric panel that won't harm them or their appliances. Can't sing Brian's praises enough. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm a happy camper in my tiny little condo with lots of light in her kitchen now. Thanks again!
