I've been here a couple times and definitely coming back as a loyal customer! I live around the U-district area and been to a couple places but the prices were quite high! This place not only looks super clean, new, and very sanitary, but they offered very affordable prices. I had my manicure AND a spa pedicure done for only $30, what a DEAL, especially since I'm a student at the UW on a budget. Ask for Rose when you come here, she's the owner of this nail shop and pays attention to small detail and is delicate when working on you! She's the sweetest lady you will ever meet, very interactive, and has a love for pets! She knows how to keep up a great conversation and makes me feel connected while providing great nail services! Waxing: They also provide waxing services from eyebrows, lips, to even bikini waxes! I got my eyebrows waxed for $10 and they were AMAZING. I walked in to get acrylics because I bite my nails and have no nails left haha. The ladies were really nice and thorough. I showed her a pic of what I wanted and she accomplished that for me. She told me there was a parking garage available (for next time) but I walked there so that wasn't really relevant for me, but it was nice of her to tell me nonetheless. This is the worst nail service I have ever had. I went in to have a full set taken off and the woman ripped them off. It was incredibly painful and halfway through I asked her to soak them. She continued ripping them saying that takes a long time. At the end she charged me $10 instead of the $3 advertised. If I wanted them ripped off I could have done it myself. One of my favorite and go to nail places in U district! Super close to campus so dropping by is always a breeze. Business is moderate so you can pretty much always walk in and be helped within 10-15 minutes, if not right away. I always walk out so happy with my nails, and the color selection is great. Prices are so fair too! Mani and Pedi with color is only $30. Gel is only $25 and it lasts me for 3-4 weeks. They really take their time and do a great job, and are very accommodating if you don't like the shape. read more

Came here on a time crunch with no appointment. Luckily there was no wait and the lady who did my nails was pretty quick. Got shellac done in less than 20 minutes and I'm pretty happy with the result! (Skipped the hand massage). If I lived closer, I would come back. The worst nail painting experience. The lady who helps me did my nails so negligently like she was in a hurry or something. She didn't carefully paint the side of my nails and the polish is uneven. I asked her to put on another coat but again didn't help evening the color. And the price is a little high. Anyways, I won't recommend anybody going there. :( read more

Not happy with service! I scheduled an appointment at 12:00 pm. She was another client and did not start helping until 12:10 but was working on another client at the same time. Did not get the service I wanted and paid for. I got a shellac manicure done and 2 days later the shellac started peeling off. The quality was not good. Will never come back. read more

I go here very often with a friend and it is very convenient due to it because close to my apartment but there have been multiple occasions where the sassy looking lady has ignored what I wanted done with my nails and did what she thought was best. An example, I got nail art and on one hand she did a cute design but it took her some time so she changed the design for the second had and it was quite shitty. The only reason i am not giving a 1 star is because there are a couple technitions that are nice and I've never had an issue with a pedicure. read more

I live a few blocks from this salon, and am a fanatic of getting my nails done regardless of where I am at. But this has to be my favorite. Manicure: They know me by now, and they always do a great job. If i dont like the way the color turned out, theyll change it or find alternatives for me. Pedicure: Sometimes its better than others, but my regular pedi lady knows what I like and does a fantastic job. They last me for weeks, the entire nail is covered, there isnt anything on my cuticles. Its near flawless. Acrylics: They do exactly what you want them to, (Unless of course theyre crazy busy and theres only two technicians, then you have to compromise but they do their best) they arent too clunky or chunky or too fake looking. They dont have a huge selection of nail decor (sorry pinteresters) but the quality of the nail is great, both with white tip or the clear nail. Waxing: Starting price of 25 dollars for full bikini and she gets EVERYTHING off, Rose pays attention to detail and makes sure it looks clean. Although be aware that she is comfortable with her job and will ask you questions like "are you going on vacation?" or "Is this for your boyfriend?" All in good humor of course. Shes great. Brows are 10 dollars and they look amazing. Lip is great too, the wax works fine on my sensitive skin so no break outs or rashes. Its a little hole in the wall nail place with good prices and good work. Definitely recommend. read more

I've stopped in to this little nail shop a few times now for a quick mani/pedi so I feel I can share an average of my experiences. I'll keep going back because of the convenience, but I'm usually disappointed when I leave so I'm starting to go less... PRO's: *It's a nice, clean place, hardwood floors and pretty awesome new pedicure chairs (quite a fantastic massage actually) *Since it's tucked off the main road (near Roosevelt on 43rd), I've never had to wait. In fact, I've only ever seen one other customer at a time in there but I usually go during lunch or other times in the middle of the workday. *Low prices... Shellac/Gel can get pricey... $25 for a shellac manicure is fine by me rather than 50+ at spas/salons. CON's: *Quality of work. I've had both women that work there do my hands or feet and they are both quite sloppy. Polish spilling over onto the cuticle. I have to remind them to paint the top side of the nail. Uneven polish. Cutting too short and too much into the cuticle. Overall poor attention to detail. Overall you get what you pay for I guess. read more

Amazing place to get your eyebrows done! I did not have an appointment, but they took me right away. Rose is great at being quick and gentle (well, as gentle as waxing can get). She did a wonderful job and I'll be going back again in a few months to get them done for my wedding. I read a review mentioning their lack of attention to detail before I went here and it made me a little nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised! Rose took her time to perfect each brow. The waxing was fast, but then she worked on each brow with tweezers and scissors for almost 3 minutes each to make sure not a hair was out of place. I definitely recommend Welcome Nails! The place was clean and the prices are great, but my experience here wasn't the best. My lady who did my pedicure wasn't friendly at all, and made my toe bleed she scraped/picked at the cuticle so much. My foot was pulled and yanked on to reposition, and my feet were not scrubbed enough to be smooth. Although the prices are great, a poor experience isn't worth saving a few bucks! read more

My friends and I called this place at 6:30pm (they close at 7pm) and the people here were still willing to do pedicures for all 4 of my friends and I. We ended up getting there at around 6:45pm, but they worked on us up to around 45 minutes AFTER they closed. Despite already being closed, they took their time on our pedicures and made sure that everything was perfect (massage, filing, etc). Normally, I have a tendency to get very dry skin on my feet. However, after getting a pedicure here, the skin on my feet look absolutely amazing. I think it might be the lotion they use?? In addition, the price of pedicure was a flat $20, which is really cheap in comparison to other places that I go. The staff is VERY friendly, and I genuinely enjoyed talking to them. Lastly, they have massage chairs that felt like heaven while I was getting my pedicure done. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!! read more

I come here often but I don't think I will return. The woman who I usually get, the older of the two, always seems rude. She also frequently moves my hand around as if it is to stiff or something for her to work with when in reality my hand is fine. At two points today she even stopped with the manicure and I thought she was angry at me for not having more flexible hands or something. The massage at the end was very short also. This place is amazing! A group of four friends and I got here only an hour before close and they two stylists stayed an hour after close to take care of us. The customer service was amazing and the two ladies working were very courteous and sweet. Will definitely come back! I come here every once in awhile for Shellac. Today when I went in, I got the best service I've ever had. My manicurist was immaculate about applying each coat and used a brush with nail polish remover to make sure none of the gel was on my cuticles (this makes the nails peel and shortens the life of the manicure). It ended up costing me $25 which is worth it for a manicure that won't chip for a solid two weeks. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

I tried Welcome Nails when I couldn't get to my usual nail salon up in Lynnwood. It's super close to me and wanted to give it a chance. I went to get a fill and my nails were sooo thick-I am not kidding she put 4 layers of nail polish on. Not only was the polish and acrylic super thick, but my nails were filed crooked and the gel started chipping after 3 days. After that they charged FORTY dollars for a fill. I've never in my life heard of such a thing. I was pretty disappointed. read more
