A small, humble Chinese restaurant with a really warm and welcoming vibe. The staff were polite and genuinely kind, and you can feel the honesty in how they run the place. The food was simple, comforting, and very tasty -- the kind of meal that makes you feel at home. Nothing fancy, just good people and good cooking. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and would happily come back again.

This restaurant used to be JoJo's and has since changed its name to Wei's, though I believe it's the same owner. The food is still the same great quality, with no changes to the price or portion sizes. It's one of my go-to options for Friday dinners and works well for both dine-in and takeout. Sharing the updated menu for reference.

Really pleasantly surprised by the big menu and delicious food. Portions are big and prices are not expensive. We got beef pho, laksa curry noodles, garlic noodles with chicken, fried crab wontons, iced milk tea and iced lemon tea. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Lady server was friendly and the food cake fast. We'll definitely come back to try other dishes.

Needed to drop something off at the UPS store and was in the mood for garlic noodles. I got the Chicken Garlic Noodle Plate and it was amazing. Generous portion of both chicken and noodles. I paired it with an Iced HK Milk tea which hit the spot on a pretty warm day. Service was very fast, only had to wait about 5-6 minutes for everything to come out. Staff is great as well.

Came here after a long run and it filled me up! Good: - The curry laksa soup was amazing! - The baked pork chop was also amazing - so much flavor - The portion sizes and prices were great- we even took home almost the whole dish since we had so much food left over. - The place is super clean and modern inside, super cute and nice fairy lights and tons of seating, no wait Bad: - The food took a little bit to get to us, and it was really cold inside on a super cold day - The servers don't speak great english so it's a bit hard to communicate Overall would come again for the value.

Jo Jo's Wonton Soup (House Special Wonton Soup)

Wei's cafe also known as Jojos is a Cantonese/vietnamese cafe specializing in Hong Kong style dishes, Vietnamese food, and American breakfast. Upon entering you are transported to a warm inviting cafe that pulls you away from the busy streets of ocean ave and into a homie atmosphere. This morning seemed especially cold and foggy so I ordered the jojo's house special wonton soup. I should have payed attention as I thought it would come with noodles. Overall it was a very simply clean soup with plenty of toppings. Although I didn't really find the dish to be particularly special for a house special, it was filling enough to start the day and warm me up. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a simple mom and pop shop! Service: no frills and straight to business 4/5 Ambiance: Wei's cafe has a rustic charm to it; Brick walls and natural elements all around 4/5 Food: jojos wonton soup comes with bok choy, some shrimp, wontons and a few mushrooms. 3.5/5 Overall rating: 4/5

They changed business name to Wei's Cafe. The seating is open and causally comfortable for a HK style cafe. They have an extensive breakfast selection as well as lunch menu. The service is usually order at the cashier, or if you dine-in, they can serve you at the table. Gan Ba Chicken Wing is a MUST have 10/5 Traditional HK style food, amazing baked rice and spaghetti selection with Milk tea and Thai ice tea on the beverage menu. A wide range of pan fried noodles and rice dishes. If you are craving for some solid HK style food, you will be happy to come here.

    Han-Gan-Ba Chicken Wings

The Gan-ba chicken wings is the best in San Francisco. Even better than 山東. The baked pork chop with cream also is delicious. The staff are very nice. Overall good foods & good service.

The portion is too small for this price
    Shinn T.

The taste is normal, not really good, but not terrible. But the portion is too small for the price they list. $18.99 Walnut shrimp, smaller than other Chinese restaurant. Or even Panda Express Beef Chow Fun, you can see how thin/ small the portion is, not enough for an adult, my dad needs to eat something else to be full after that. Not recommend, will not go again.

Jo Jo Cafe has changed its name to Wei's Café but it looks like nothing else changed. same menu, same insides and thankfully, almost same prices. It's one place that has only increased prices a little bit. BTW, you have to like the Hong Kong Style Café or 茶餐廳 thing to like the food.

    pork over rice
    Zac S.

the food was pretty yummy, I felt like the curry beef needed some more seasoning, maybe I should have brought my own. the pork over rice was amazing. with each meal I got an extra egg or so and that was a mistake because it cost and arm and a leg for the eggs. because of the addition I felt like the food was too expensive to be worth it, so I left a little dissatisfied. easy service. order at the counter, ample seating, the decor was simple, no fluff all food. a simple café for a easy breakfast

Laksa is the best, general Tso chicken, stir fried udon

10/10 every time. Me and my bf come here regularly our favorite is the laksa and chicken garlic noodles. The stir fried udon is also soooo good and I like how it's affordable!

Very disappointed with a recent visit. They mistreated my wife and 3 year old son -- tossed out their food when they were using the restroom and still had their personal belongings at the table. Right before they used the restroom, we asked the waitress for a Togo box. So with personal belongings, an empty Togo box and full plates of food on the table, the wait staff tossed everything away. When we asked about it the waitress just said "huh". No apology, no restitution just pure ignorance. And we even tipped. Been a customer since 2007. Never coming back. To hell with this place. Rude!

Once they started calling tables, it moved really fast. When we were seated, we ended up sharing a table with two other groups of two. I actually didn't mind it at all because there was still enough space between everyone to have privacy. It also made the experience feel more social -- I ended up chatting with the people to my right and left about the food. Everything we ordered was really good. Their popular dry fried chicken absolutely lived up to the hype and was probably my favorite thing on the menu... besides the cherry pork. I feel like nobody talks about the cherry pork enough! It was SO good -- kind of like a sweet-and-sour pork without the sour. I dipped it in soy sauce because I loved the sweet and salty combo together. The dumplings were also really good. The wrapper was thin and delicious, but my boyfriend said he wished they had a little more protein filling and less leek. The green beans are always a hit. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the black bean sauce noodles. Maybe I just expected a different flavor, but to me they honestly tasted like regular lo mein. I'm also not a huge noodle person in general, so I'd probably skip them next time and order something else instead. Forgot to mention their prices are on point! Definitely recommend to any of the tourists. I think the weight is definitely worth it and I love being able to take home my leftovers and eating them for lunch and dinner the next day.

"Everything!" That's all one needs to say. At the entrance, clearly marked are signs reading, "Reservations" and "Walk-ins". Since we had reservations, we waited only a few minutes to get seated at the bar. The bar makes it easy to converse with your partner and to peer over as the fire from the range springs up from the kitchen. Our server brought us some "Free Bites" of roasted peanuts and smashed cucumbers. She was such a pleasant lady with quite the wit that made me laugh between courses. We ordered a full bottle of Negori sake. Note: if you do not finish the sake bottle, they cannot pack it to go for you, so drink up! Obviously, we couldn't order everything on the menu. For our first visit, we definitely wanted their special dish, Fried Squab. It was delicious! The meat was moist and the dipping salt with Sichuan peppercorn paired perfectly! Just don't focus too much on the visual... the head and claws. Hot Mustard Jellyfish Salad ~ I loved the "crunch" of the jellyfish and the hot mustard marinade was just spicy enough to start a slow burn up the nose. Beef Chow Fun Noodles ~ Delicious and so very savory. I was amazed at how flavorful this dish was without being salty. Clay Pot Rice w/Chinese Sausage & Bacon ~ Loved how the entire pot was seasoned nicely. The sauce did not only sit at the top, but penetrated deep down into the rice. XO Escargot w/Milkbread ~ I've only had French Escargot and these are just as good, if not better! Fish Fragrant Eggplant ~ Another savory and very umami dish. Red Bean Shaved Ice ~ Always a refreshing dessert. Dig in for the surprise in the center. We had such a nice, cozy dinner here. Even while at the bar, we never felt for lack of space. They paced the dishes out perfectly, so there was always room to eat and enjoy. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.

This person who took our order asked if there were any allergies, I said soy and her eyes lit up while she calming asked, 'soy-sauce', and I list soysauce and all the soy things that fall in that umbrella. I order my item, the chicken wings and item to share: the pan-fried dumplings, while my partner ordered one of the noodle soups. She comes back later and points out that the noodle soup has soy - much apperciated because people sometimes share, etc. And I said it was just for my partner. -- The chicken wings were plump, crispy, the first two were 'heathly', didn't taste the salt, and the rest were packed with flavor. If you're looking for consistency there is a #1 spot in Chinatown for chicken wings which I will not disclose in this review. But, otherwise, for flavor - I like it here. My partner said he didn't find the ones here oily but I said the bottom ones were a little and I did enjoy it. The panfried dumplings - the meat was succulent and delicious, I didn't think there was enough soup, these ones are smaller than other places, but the meat is massive. They were good, not my favorite ever, but I think the meat was the best hands-down anywhere. - It was very busy with perhaps locals and tourists. The table on our left were these two white men in the architeture field - super vulgar and sexist talking about people they don't like, it would defintely be an HR red flag. And then to the corner on the right, there was this little family who hadn't had soup dumplings before - the grown kids ate with their hands and the parents with forks (I love to see people trying new things), I didn't see all of this going on but I asked my partner who kept looking over.. Yes, my partner was judging you but kudos to trying new things however it is. - For large parties - you'll have to wait awhile.
