The only real thing keeping me from giving 5 stars for this location is foot traffic. With everyone being so excited to either finally have one or not knowing what a Wegmans is and rushing to go, it can get very clustered and chaotic in the entire store with no real sense of direction for anyone because people are just exploring. The layout is good and user friendly so that navigating through the store is easy to do. Getting used to where everything is takes a bit of time. The staff doing the recipes are very helpful when trying to find more of the product that they are showcasing as they tell you where you can find them in the store. They also help provide hints if you have dietary restrictions if they are knowledgeable on that dietary restriction. Staff has always been super friendly when I walked in whether they're making tortillas or sushi. If I ever look confused, someone always asks if I need help. I really like that this Wegmans has more turkey meat products like Applegate turkey bacon and turkey sausage since I don't eat pork and Kroger runs out. I was a super fan of the Indian food on the hot bar, but the sushi was good and the burger bar has also been a good choice when we go. read more

Wegman's has an amazing seafood and wine selection. The entire staff was super helpful and gave me wonderful recommendations to try. Also, the wine selection hosts a lot of local wineries, and same for the beers! The store also has specialty events each month within their wine department and have free wine tastings regularly! This Wegman's was your typical Wegman's. Diverse inventory, good customer service, a little pricey for produce. They have a large selection of foods for individuals with dietary restrictions (vegan/gluten free/paleo-you name it, they have an aisle dedicated to it). They had a few isles dedicated to home goods. They also had a large wine and beer selection. They have a parking garage and run a shuttle for transportation as well. We visited at 11pm, and had to deal with extremely long check out lines (this location opened recently). Finally checked this place out. I like it...it's huge. My favorite part was the wine area! Thank God when we came it was not too busy. I thought the seafood area was pretty cool too. The set up was organized and easy for u to find what you're looking for. The selection of food and variety of different choices can be overwhelming if you're are not shopping for something specific. You may find yourself buying everything lol. I also think the food bar that's available looked delish although we didn't try any of the food. Haven't been to a Wegmans in years so today was my first time back in a while. They did a great job inside. It looks great. Customer service was great, although I wish they had a cashier in the middle of bakery because whoa, my kids wanted all the treats but I had to go stand in line, pay for them and then give them the food. Sort of inconvenient but doable. Loved the poke station, that was very well organized and I loved their little sample bowls! They are super cute! I also loved the carts for the kids, super easy for families of more than one kid. The wine area. Super impressed and loved the wine tasting area. Also you can get fancy wines that cost $100 and up to $1,000. Overall they did a great job and I'm glad our city now has one! read more

Wegman has been my go-to place for grocery shopping. I love all of the services and selections that they offer. They have a huge selection of fresh food, packaged food, premade food, ready to go food, etc. Their prices are also shockingly affordable. A lot of things I can't find in local grocery stores, I can find here. They do get packed as people love to come to Wegmans but they do get people quickly out the door with all the cash registers they have open and their self check out area. They also offer free pickup which saves me so much time. They use Instacart to perform the transaction so there is a shopper communicating with you while they shop for your items. Overall Wegman does a good job at providing a great shopping experience. read more

It has everything! Vegan foods (Oatly! Milk is cheaper here than Whole Foods) Wegman's brand kombucha & vegan cheeses! The cheese tastes as good as the real kind! There's the gluten free aisle, it has so many great products! The fish section is very fresh and everything is very clean. There's also a burger bar, pizza, sandwich and salad sections, a hot food bar. Customer service is wonderful. Everyone is very helpful & sweet. There's a large cafe area to eat your food. I appreciate that this particular wegmans is conscious about plastic, they offer paper straws and they got rid of those plastic discount cards that go onto your keys. You can sign up for their wegman's app or sign up with your phone number to get discounts. I also love their bathrooms, very modern and clean. I had heard about this store from plethora of people who said that the store had almost everything and I wanted to try it out for myself. First off the one thing that was surprising to me was just seeing the little toy train which I thought was pretty entertaining an amazing. I love a store that caters to not just me vegans and vegetarians. They had everything from good produce too many different options of things that you're used to making they had vegan options vegetarian options meat options. They had everything!! I'd love to see this company grow to where they are everywhere around the United States because I would love to have a place like this down in Florida. Going to Wegmans is an absolute treat and experience! I don't need to tell you how happy, thankful, and excited I am that Virginia Beach finally got one by the grace of God!!! Everything about Wegmans is wonderful. They all have their own parking garage, for one! There's a vast variety of ready-made food for everyone. The bakery??? Wow, wow, W.O.W. The seafood dept? Nice! Into cheeses? I've never met more knowledgeable people until Wegmans. Oh, and the greatest surprise was me finding all their plants!!! I never noticed them before, maybe because I wasn't a Plant Mom back then but now I am so I always make a beeline when I pop in for a visit! I do have a confession, though. I don't do any shopping in the dry food aisles. Ninety-nine percent of the time I stay in the left side of the store and I can spend hours there. I actually have not even walked through the dry goods section at all. Not at this location anyway. I was so happy to see that one had opened in Virginia Beach that the wife and I planned a special visit. Wegmans is a family-owned company, founded in 1916, headquarter in Rochester, NY. Danny Wegman is the chairman, his daughter Colleen Wegman is President and CEO. His other daughter Nicole is Senior Vice President. They have about 101 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts and North Carolina. 49,000 employees with annual sales of $9.2 Billion (2018) Wegmans also has free internet in the store, which will connect you to all the Wegmans' apps. These Wegmans apps allows you to participate is the stores rewards programs, get meals-to-go and scan products (requires connection to the store Wi-Fi) I highly recommend the rewards program to save money cause Wegmans is expensive. These stores takes boldness to another level. Stores are bright, full of everything you can think of from butcher, fresh meat and produce, flower shop, wine section, to the burger joint in the rear of the store. There is a large self serve station(s) from Homemade American to Mediterranean, to Asian cuisine. You can have a salad, fresh made bread and a seafood area that will make the locals look like Childs play. And after all of this, catering is available. They really go out of there way for the customer; as you go through the store, there are plenty of promotional or sampling stations. At each one, someone is always eagerly waiting to serve you. Customer Service is there to help you, they kinda give you an orientation of the store when you are a first time visitor. They even go out of their way to make you feel at home. What makes this store AWESOME in Virginia, is the southern Charm to already add to good customer service. You can actually spend a day in this store, rather you're coming through to shop or just walk around. Did I mention there's a 2 story parking garage that is in close proximity of the front door? I love Aldi and Fresh Market and Harris Teeter and on and on. No apologies. Wegmans is the best of all combined into one. They have the freshest produce of Whole Foods, the marketplace vibe of Harris Teeter, a warehouse store with toilet paper by the football field ala Sam's Club and the budget of the navy commissary. For real! While I indulge in the sensory overload of my first steps in, think bakery, pizzeria, deli, coffee, wine bar, one must stand fast and proceed because therein lies the evil magnetism of Wegmans. It will lure you with cheap prices, then wring your last penny in it's sexy, well lit, sensory scented marketplace. If one can escape its overpriced entrance, your reward will be amazing an selection of choice at very reasonable prices. I routinely buy things at the same prices or lower at the commissary. I like it but you need to be a choosy shopper. Like a competing chain in the area, the sales are great in price but regular priced non-sale items can rack up a high bill quickly. No Wegman branded product I tried has been a disappointment yet. Cereals for example, are taste and always at a discount price - half that of General Mills and Post for the same sizes. The location in a growing traffic snarl of town center had me doubting it would be anything other than frustrating. As it turned out, I slipped right into the ground floor of the mini parking garage and walked right in. The cashiers were smiling and friendly, making it a pleasant experience. Specialty areas like bakery, cheese, meats have a large selection and options from countries globally that put this on par with the boutique groceries . Absurd store layout and no customer service to speak of. Half of the store is arranged as any other grocer and the other half is all hot food and dining area. Even kroger has assorted bulk nuts, I saw no such thing here. The breakfast/bakery arrangement was cute but I can't help but cringe at the ube cupcakes which were basic vanilla cupcakes with ube frosting...I just made an ube cheesecake not even a month ago for cheaper than what they were charging for box cakemix cupcakes with heavily dyed, barely flavored frosting. I just don't know for whom this place was built? (actually I do). I've been to Wegmans elsewhere, and I haven't seen one that looks quite like this, with the zany walkways and an entrance that's congested and TINY compared to the size of the store. Every time I buy bagels from the bakery at Wegmans, I get to eat 2 bagels out of the entire pack before it becomes moldy. I get how break works but I can't eat 6 bagels in 2 days. Sell them in packs of 2 since that's the amount people can eat. read more

This is my first time stepping foot into a Wegmans. I wanted to come opening day but common sense told me to wait a bit to avoid traffic and crazy people. I came the next weekend and let me say, I'm sure there wasn't much difference. Luckily, since they have their own parking garage, parking wasn't much an issue. However, the flow of people were nonstop. It was hard maneuvering our cart since everywhere you turned there was another cart. What I love about this store is that there is a huge array of different foods for any type of food restrictions. They have aisles of gluten free food, organics, sugar free, you name it! They have it! Their meat selection was plentiful. They had gorgeous fish of all types, poultry, beef and pork. They have several bars: pizza, coffee, coffee, mochi, and a sandwich bar. They also have specialty shops such as cheese, sushi, poke, and bakery. They have a huge selection of beer (imported and domestic) and wine. They even have a fine wine section closed off for humidity control. Outside, they had beautiful flowers for sale alongside porch and deck furniture. Customer service seemed to be very nice. Our cashier was very nice, but unfortunately, she must have been the slowest. The "Wegman" brand foods are very reasonable. I did notice there were some foods that were a bit pricey still. The location is great. I just wish it was a little closer since I'm in Chesapeake. I'm not complaining though...I very happy we now have one in the HR area! I can't wait to go back! read more
