I really like Aldi no complaints from me. Prices and produce are great. Budget friendly too. Great options for everyone in the family .

Very decent savings. They are well stocked with great opportunistic sales that benefit a wallet. I love their frozen seafood and escargot. Service is there, but it's more skeleton crew style. Very clean environment. Suggest bringing your own bags for groceries. Good selection of bread as well. Keep an eye out for Venus fly traps (they got those too when in season)! read more

This place is awful. I have bought cereal boxes, and found cockroaches in closed cereal boxes. And today I tried to go again, just to be treated with absolute no respect or kindness after their card machines weren't working out for my credit card. It wasn't my card. It's their machine. And the man with glasses checking out, says NOTHING to ANYONE. No, hello, no nothing. Just stares at you from the corner of his eye. Since my card wasn't working and I had $240 worth of groceries.. I was clearly embarrassed and had no idea what to do. I suggested all of the ideas and he sat there and rolled his eyes. Such a rude ass thing to do. I stood there to the and waited til it was my turn to try again and he just ignored me. Ignored me after five customers and nothing, I walked out. And oh they followed me out!!! Not the man who ignored me noooo never. The OTHER man checking follows me out and apologizes for his awful co worker. Why should he have to apologize ??? Wtf? If you don't enjoy working at Aldi then why are you there? You enjoy watching people walk out of your store with $250 worth of groceries? You enjoy embarrassing your customers with shitty Machines, food, AND service, all under the guise of it being the best because it's so affordable ? My ass. I'm so upset and embarrassed and they should be so ashamed of themselves for giving so little of a shit. Adding to this review, the store manager is very kind. But there's a lot of employees that never say anything to you and just stare. Maybe it's just me? I don't understand. One employee cares but I don't think he cares enough. It's wild that I was allowed to be ignored with a cart FULL of groceries with full intent to pay just to be made to stand there like a dumb ass all while no one spoke a word to me. Well I just happened to be in the area last night and noticed this store that I hear people talking about from time to time. So I figured I have a few minutes let me just go in here and see what it's all about. Mind you, my mom had already bought me reusable shopping bags from here and I keep them in my trunk...hmmm okay let me go ahead and put at least one to use tonight. I came here last night with my daughter and her friend and basically we just went up and down every aisle to see the happenings. First of all, I love that it's not your normal size grocery store. It's probably not even half the size of your average (Food Lion or Farm Fresh) grocery store. I pretty much went in and picked up only the essentials that I needed: eggs, greens, some fruit and a couple of other things. For about 8 or 9 items I paid under $25 which I thought was great. I didn't even have any coupons! I understand that they do have coupons in their flier from time to time so definitely be on the lookout for that. The staff was friendly. I'm not sure how the shopping carts work, but I realize that I picked up more things than I intended to pick up so one of the associates offered to give me her shopping cart so I was like okay thank you...sweet! I read someone else's post and it shows that you pay a certain amount to use the cart and you get the money back when you return the cart. I don't know I can't vouch for that. The cashier was friendly. She had small talk and a kindred spirit. It just felt really good to have been in there for the first time... no pressure... everything was smooth sailing. I went up and down every aisle, but I was just so gung-ho about the fact that I really enjoyed the setup of this store. I so cannot remember everything they sell. But if you have time a quick 10 minutes ...10 minutes or so probably will be all that it takes for you to walk in and walk out to be able to know if you like it here or not. So I been seeing the flyers to this place show up at my house for the past year. Ive been hearing a few people say that its a great place to try out due to the low prices. I typically do a lot of shopping at a wholesale club but this weekend I needed some fruits and I don't like buying that in bulk so I decided to try out Aldi. Its in the Chesapeake square shopping area so super convenient location. I read the reviews so I know I needed a quarter and my own bags so I came prepared. Upon walking in I was greeted by the wines and beers. The prices on the wines were very reasonable. I saw a lady with a whole case LOL. The prices on some of the produce was really out of this world. Other things like mangoes and avocados was not that impressive. I was able to find everything that I had on my list and then some. I don't think you could completely shop here but for most things you can grab them. I scored organic extra virgin olive oil for $4 and that was a steal. One thing to note is they use a lot of name brands that are unfamiliar so if you are super into the particular brands that you like this is not the place for you. All in all great place to check out and I will definitely be stopping in here again. read more

I really enjoy shopping at ALDI! I normally go to the ALDI locations in Richmond, but I was happy to hear that they opened another location in the 757! This location just opened on September 29, 2016. I also have a great shopping experience here. I love the fact that I can use my reusable bags (definitely have enough of them) and that the prices are affordable and the items that they sell are quality! They have a nice selection of wines and beer for a great price to choose from, fresh produce, even toiletry items, and way more than I can list. The shopping experience feels more interpersonal than going to your average grocery store. You can get a shopping cart by paying $0.25 cents and you will get the quarter back when you return the cart outside. The staff was friendly and I couldn't honestly ask for a better experience to grocery shop! read more

I really like this store fo their staples, household goods. The meats and frozen foods are a good prices. The seafood is reasonable and always fresh , we like that they carry alot of gluten free products. We often purchase our eggs because tbdh have a limit of six dozen in one store shopping. The prices are good and it's good for health produtthat we purchase .We highly recommend these stores for your shopping and convinence. The only down fall for some shoppers is that they don't supply bags , However you can purchase bags,bring your own, use boxes in the store . read more

Horrible Service! Frequent attitude pretty much guaranteed! And don't expect service... be careful if you ask a question the nicest possible way and after waiting politely... brace yourself because when you go to this Chesapeake square store you are the inconvenience not a customer with the rights to just be treated at a minimum with the same amount of respect or politeness you've given. And be prepared to watch a spectacle if you dare wait until no one is around to let them know their behavior wasn't professional by saying "you don't have to be rude to your customers when they ask you a question"... They may offer some good prices on some items but it comes with the cost of your pride. If you don't mind being disrespected to save a bit, then you may be Ok. But my last few experiences in the last year have been about the same with the attitude and lack of service. (I tend to stay away for some time then go back and every time I'm reminded of why I stay away) With Lidl so close by I feel I get a much better experience but from time to time they may offer a couple of good buys... I would give no stars but they don't allow it so the lowest is what I had to pick. Fresh vegetables, good basic groceries, interesting finds, cheap pizza - all I need. They are basically a generic Trader Joe's. They don't have everything I need but they are now my go to basic grocery. The prices are way better than the bigger chains as well as Lidl. They also carry special finds like German Christmas cookies or British baking supplies at times. They may not cover everything you need if you buy a lot of brand name, premade food, but they are great if you want basic, quality food. Plus the vegetables are fresh unlike Kroger, etc. Bonus - the employees are way nicer here than those other chains. Way nicer. read more

Thank god for aldi's. Love them for allowing us to purchase eggs at more than reasonable prices-.27 a dozen on a regular basis. The hot dogs bacon and numerous other items that are of great quality while not costing an arm and a leg. Their weekly sales on leg of lamb,duck,ground beef and other meats are great Glad to have you in Hampton roads. read more

I love Aldi. What better a place than one where none of their food has anything atificial added to it. The sales are great, the shopping is easy. Wide aisles makebitbeasy to navigate your shopping cart. This isn't like a grocery store with a ton of junk food, they have mostly veggies and fruits and then meat.
