This is another great ALDI location just like most other ALDI stores. The private parking lot is spacious and well maintained and free of debris. Shopping carts are not scattered about due to the 25 cent deposit required to use a cart. You get your quarter back when you return the cart to the appropriate place, I love this policy and wish more stores would adopt it. Another thing about the carts, they all seem to be in good repair. I've never had a cart with a wheel that wouldn't turn or one with a flat spot on a wheel making it go "thunk, thunk, thunk..." as you push it down the aisles. I don't know if it's because most of the ALDI stores in this area are fairly new or if the carts or just better maintained than at most other grocery stores. Like other ALDI stores this one features wide aisles which are easy to navigate. The store is very clean and organized and staff is super friendly and helpful. They stock most everything you expect to find in a supermarket and prices are really excellent. There are some national brands available but for the most part you will find brand names different from what you are used to at Food Lion, Kroger, Walmart, etc... Products are of good quality and priced much lower than those national brands with which you may be more familiar. There is plenty of nice fresh fruit and produce. Fresh beef, chicken, pork, fish, deli items, bakery items, etc... are all prepackaged and of good quality. Checkout can be a little slow with only one aisle open most times but they will open a second line if the wait gets too long. Overall I would say the waits to checkout are significantly faster than at Walmart, Food Lion, Kroger, etc... Two thumbs up for yet another fine ALDI supermarket. read more

Probably the dirtiest and most rude Aldi I've ever been to. I came in today since we were closer to this location, the bathrooms were disgusting and the rest of the facility matched. The employee who checked us out wasn't rude but he threw heavy items on top of our meat and fresh produce which could have caused them to pop open or get smashed. Their merchandise was also not organized either, very messy. This is the first time visiting an Aldi that is this way so it caught me off guard. read more

Ran in to the store last night with one thing on my mind! We saw a Facebook post about them selling Halloween pasta how cute!! So far don't have it. I will start by saying if you have never been inside one it is almost completely all brands you never see or see in your everyday grocery store. If you need a basket bring a quarter!! Also bring your own reusable bags! Or you can buy some up front. They are not expansive the paper is 10 cents. They put it in your cart and then they have a bar along the wall where you go and bag it yourself. These are all things I wish I knew they every first time I went! I was confused at first!! It has a decent amount of options not a whole lot of Isles but you can probably find a big chunk of what you are looking for. We have noticed we definitely save money on cream cheese and fresh fruits and vegetables depending on the sales. And always save money on chips 84 cents for a bag. I always for get about this grocery store and then will randomly go and I always find something good. We found some Taco Bell chips I have never seen. I got some little ice cream cups for the kids. And a few other things. We got 6 food products and two toys for $30. read more

This Aldi is located in one of Chesapeake's main street, Cedar Road. The store may be small, but it has plenty of produce and frozen entree section. I just wish I didn't have to put a quarter for deposit to get the shopping cart out. read more

I have visited this store four times. I will not be back. I received horrible service each and every time I visited this store. I could have dealt with the lack of selection, the sub par produce section and the low quality off brand products but the complete apathy I received from employees each and every time I visited this store is unacceptable. Walmart employees treat me better than this group of inconsiderate jackwagons. read more

Four weeks ago I went to Aldi. I got in line and was lectured like a school boy how I butted in line and the line began in a food aisle that was offset from the cash register. I was fuming but went and got in line with my wife. After I checked out, I asked to speak to a manager. An spoke to a man who identified himself as an "Assistant Manager." I told him I did not appreciate being lectured by a cashier for something the store should have made apparent with signage. I recommended to him the store post signs to make their intent clear. I haven't went back until today. Today, Saturday, 13 June 2020, my wife called me and asked me to pick up bread. Aldi was the closest place on my way home from where I was so I stopped there. I got in line for the same register as the last time I visited and the Assistant Manager I talked to last time was working the register. I looked down the aisle I was told the line started in (for that register) from the last time I visited. Nobody was there. I stood in place about 15 feet away from the next customer (due to COVID). About 15 seconds later the manager tells me the line starts in an aisle that is 4 aisles down from the register he is working. I went to that aisle and nobody was in line! As I'm standing in line I notice there still are not signs stating where lines start. So, the store is making up rules that change day-to-day and not communicating its expectations to customers. It infuriated me! It will be a very long time before I go back to Aldi. That store does not care enough about communicating to their customers to put a small amount of effort in to making a cardboard sign and marking the floor with some tape. UNBELIEVABLY bad customer service! The Assistant Manager I talked to must have no initiative to listen and respond to concerns. read more

I really like this location, seeing as it's the closet one to my house. I've been shopping here since the store opening and have always had a pleasant experience. All though the lines can be looong with a single cashier helping. While shopping here tonight with my family I had my daughter with me and she asked me to take her to the restroom which is a single occupancy stall. I was in there with my daughter helping her and I hear a manager talking to someone and they say "it's locked!" So she immediately without warning UNLOCKS the door and lets another customer in.. I was appalled! I had the door locked for a reason! For safety next time PLEASE ask before unlocking a restroom door especially with children in the bathroom!! read more

I prefer this one over the kempsville location mainly because of the size and it seems to be better stocked. I don't usually have an issue with it being crowded either. The produce seems to be about the same as every other location. The only issue (not a big one) is that I usually wait in line longer, other cashiers don't jump on to back up as quick as the kempsville location tends to do. read more
