Yes, yes, yes on all accounts! If you haven't been to an Aldi, you really don't know what you're missing. My first encounter with the chain was many years ago down in Georgia and was one of the things I knew I would miss when I moved back home. Fast forward a couple years later, and ALDI starts popping up all over Hampton Roads. Praise the Lord! Now, there are certain things I will still continue to buy at other markets, just because I think their store brand or the name brand tastes better, but I always do the bulk of my grocery shopping here. I'm sure I could find better deals on some items at another store, but I simply don't have time to coupon or cost compare. The prices here are outstanding, especially for organic produce and dairy as well as meat and frozen foods. Bonus: they have Blue Bell ice cream! My recent love affair is with Aldi's curbside pickup. The online website for pickup or delivery is easy to navigate, there's no additional fee, and it saves me so much time (and in store toddler meltdowns). Once you get to the store, check in through the text message link, and they'll load your groceries in no time flat. Oh aldi, how I love thee! read more

I love this particular ALDI!! It's not the one closest to my home, but it is closest and most convenient to my workplace. The employees are always super helpful and friendly. I love how the store is always so clean. Everything is always labeled correctly. They always have fresh produce, meat and poultry, and cheese. Their cheese!! OMG they always have a wonderful assortment of cheese! Their prices are the lowest around and beats everyone! Don't forget your quarter for a shopping cart. Always a good place to shop when you need save some money! I just went to the other one located on ceder and I feel like this one had some different yet better options for me. Some of the prices are so shocking and you can't beat! My kids love the Clancy's brand chips they can't even tell the difference from lays. These are still cheaper than food lion brand that sit at 1.92 these are 1.12 I have never personally bought bread from here but I couldn't believe the prices. They have a good section of fresh produce I have never seen anything out of date or rotting. It's so worth checking out and finding things that you can save money on. I like shopping at this ALDI location because the staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of fresh fruits to vegetables for sale at reasonable prices. The store is always clean and well organized and it is not too big that shopping only for a few items can take a long time to accomplish. If you are a named brand purchaser, you should be careful because they ALDI brand items are made to look like the big named brands. Not to worry about that because the ALDI brands are pretty good and I have not been disappointed with purchasing them. I really enjoy this Aldis. The fact it's so close to my location makes it a double bonus. They do a great job keeping the stock rotated and offer a decent range of options in each category. Beer selection is limited but not bad. I come here often for snacks and water and haven't been disappointed. The only thing they can drive you a little bit crazy Is that they usually only have one line open for check out. I guess that's all part of keeping the cost down. read more

I only spent about five minutes in this store, but that was quite alright. Greenbrier Mall is about 10 minutes from this grocery, and I needed to pick up a bottle or two of wine before I headed home. For under $3... oh yes, I run to Aldi for my wine spirits when I want something quick and on the run. Well clearly this is a go to spot for others as well... Winking Owl, I believe this the brand name of wine by Aldi... Only a few bottles were left of the shelf... sheesh. I mean for under $3 it's like picking up candy for adults so yeah you pick up two - four at a time and be fine. The checkout line moved swiftly as well. The employees were friendly and the store was not crowded at all. If anything the shelves were somewhat empty, that's a good thing. Check them out in case you are in the area. They offer other wine selections as well, but for this price why pay more when you can get great quality for less. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

Why am I "wineing?" Aldi doesn't sell beer and wine in my home state because of political cronyism. That being said, I stopped by this beautiful store that's a bit larger than the unit I shop at home and I traversed to a rear corner of the store and I found an oasis of $2.89 winking owl and bought a mixed dozen as well as a few bottles of a reasonably priced red blend and an Italian Pinot Grigio. Not to mention the two six packs of beer and hard cider. Man, Maryland sure knows how to spoil a party. Love love love Aldi. read more

I really like shopping at Aldi and this location is pretty much the same as other area Aldi supermarkets. The store layout is a little different than the location on Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach where I have shopped the most but it seems a little more spacious. There is plenty of free parking available in the large private lot and access to and from the street is pretty easy no matter your direction of travel. The parking lot is always clean and free of debris. I particularly like Aldi's company practice of requiring a 25 cent deposit for shopping carts which is returned when you return the cart to its proper staging location. This keeps carts in one place and the parking lot free of carts which block parking spaces and get in the way of parking traffic or roll into vehicles at most other supermarkets. By now most of you are familiar with Aldi stores with so many moving into the area over the past couple years. You won't find a lot of the brand names you are used to at other major supermarkets but you will find comparable brands at much lower price points. You won't find huge bakery, meat, seafood or dairy sections like you can at some other supermarkets but they are very adequate. They are definitely large enough for you to find everything you need. Fruit and produce sections are very good with lots of nice choices at great prices. If you are into wine they have a wide selection at some pretty amazing prices. As other reviewers have noted this store does have a tendency to have only one checkout line open at a time which can result in some increased wait times. I haven't noticed this at other Aldi locations and there have been a couple times when I saw them open a second line but usually it's just the one. In any case be prepared to bag your own items because Aldi does not provide free bags though they do have some available for purchase. Personally, I bought a really good quality pack of ten reuseable cloth bags on Amazon for $18 so the lack of bags at Aldi and some other stores isn't an issue. I also have a couple of insulated thermal bags to use for frozen or hot items so I don't have to rush home before the ice cream melts. Overall, most people should be able to find pretty much everything they expect in a supermarket. Aldi is my go to supermarket and this location is fairly convenient for me so I find myself shopping here more and more. This location on Executive Boulevard in Chesapeake is just slightly closer to my home than the Aldi on Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach but it's a lot easier to get in and out of this store which has made it my first choice since it opened in July. read more

This is probably the most frequent place I visit now to buy my groceries. Granted they do not have name brand items but their prices more than make up for it. It it the best deal for nice large steaks. They have packaged pre-season salmon which is always delicious. And I can't leave with out checking out their seasonal aisle. I have found some of the most random amazing buys on the seasonal aisle. I got an amazing looking, comfortable sweater for my husband as well as not one but 2 of our favorite blankets to now use an neither one which was over $20. I will continue to shop there. Endless deals, but some deals are more limited than others. You know what is always there though? Journey to India Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce. Instead of struggling with a Pinterest recipe to make this bad boy from scratch for your meal prep, snag this jar instead (which is glass, so you can use it further by recycling its use). Salt, pepper, etc. season your chicken. Then saute your veggies of choice & tomato (to cut the sweetness of the tikka masala) with garlic. Then simmer your cooked chicken & veggies in the sauce for 10+ mins. BAM! Indian food for your work lunch. Organic veggies, unripe avocados, organic fruits, affordable cheeses for the fancy palate, shredded & sliced cheeses, 4 pack for $2.99 naan & garlic naan if lucky, croissants, bread, spinach or sundried tomato wraps, taco night materials, basic pasta (no lasagna) materials, and affordable meat are also always in stock! The lines can be gruesome when I venture out to grocery shop during the lunch rush since it's typically one register open at a time. I just bring a bag because I'm shopping for me, myself, & I. I have visited this specific Aldi's 3-4 times now, and have always been impressed with their streamlined and efficient setup that actually helps their shoppers get in and out as quickly as possible without a hitch! And don't forget those wonderful employees on the front lines who somehow ring up your groceries so quickly that your items are already loaded into your cart before you even get to put your last item on the conveyer belt. If that don't float your boat, then you must be one of those odd birds that enjoy standing around waiting for someone to slowly ring up each and every grocery item and bag your groceries in sloth mode found which can be typically found at those "other" grocery stores nearby (I won't name any names....but they know who they are!) One of these days I will be writing an "ode to Aldi's" but until then, this little diddy will have to suffice :) read more

OMG I can't explain how much I love this chain. They have the best fruits and veggies for a great price. Downside is that the prices change significantly every week so when I go for produce I always have to stock up and freeze it because I don't know when it's going to be on sale again. With that being said it's still an affordable place to shop especially in the Summer when certain produce prices are through the roof. This location is a real bummer though because ever since it opened they only have one register opened and I'm not exaggerating. Every time I have come which has been about five times so far, they only have one lane open then the line gets so long it starts to lead down the aisle and that's when the manager will come to help. My favorite location is the one in Chesapeake Square but I still recommend this store if you like good bargains. Minus a star for speed. read more

I literally shop here at least twice a week. First of all there is always ample parking even though it is busy most of the time and the parking lot is always clean, free from trash and carts hanging around in the lot (but I guess that's because you have to pay a quarter to get a cart lol). As soon as you step inside the place it is clean and neat and the staff is friendly and greets you upon entrance every single time and the bathroom is pretty large and always clean. I think they need more help because sometimes the produce is a day from being expired, mostly the lettuce (spinach). The food is way cheaper than other grocery stores. I always buy eggs, almond milk, cheese and bottled water. They have a very good variety of wines and beers that are very good, I usually just buy the sweet wines like Moscato. The "Aldis finds" section has a very good assortment of items and go with the season. The items here are brands that most people have not heard of but I love it anyway. I think I have an Aldis addiction and I need help, so much to love, lol. read more

This is the location that I usually find is sold out of the items I'm looking for. I'd give it a 2 1/2 if I could. The location is great and the store looks clean. Yesterday they had two items I hadn't seen there before...zuchini and butternut squash in a spaghetti cut. They looked like they'd be a pretty addition to a salad. The roma tomatoes are $1.49 per one pound bag...they used to be much cheaper. The first thing that drew me to Aldi was thier awesome price on avocados and frozen, raw, jumbo sized shrimp but since then the prices of their avocados are not much cheaper than anywhere else. The frozen shrimp at Walmart taste 100% better than the ones at Aldi...not much higher in price. If you're looking for Kefir they never have the plain...just the flavored with added sugar. The same with the Greek yogurt...never the plain but plenty of the ones with added sugar. The sparkling water is the same...lots of flavored sparkling water but hard to dig through the stack for the 12 pack of unflavored sparkling water. Their price for the 12 pack is competitive tho. The yogurt and Kefir are their store brand. Every now and then you'll find the name brand Kefir but again...only the ones with added sugar. They do have the plain cheesecake either. I did however see the variety flavored cheese cake for those who like them, at a great price. They offered a few slices of the pumpkin cheese cake for $3.99 and the entire variety cheesecake for $8.99. I really go to Aldi for produce...it's usually fresh and priced fair. read more

I am so happy this grocery store exist. This location is very clean and organized. There is always plenty of parking spaces when you arrive. You will need a quarter to use a cart. But do not freak you, you will get it back once you return the cart to the holding area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The produce and food is fresh and affordable. My fruit and veggies last much longer compared to other local businesses. They not only sell food, but also household products, beauty items, yard decor, and some clothing. I am a bargain shopper so the deals are great! I am always amazed in how little I pay for so much. I have completed some of my Christmas shopping in this store. Even when the lines are long and there is only one person checking customers out, the wait is minimal. They move things along efficiently. Once you pay, you can bag your own groceries off to the side (I am a little OCD so I love this!). I smile every time I leave this store. I highly recommend this Aldi! read more

Was so disappointed when as a handicapped shopper went in to this new store excited, my excitement ended when there was no handicapped chair that I could use without someone pushing me..I turned around and left the store..was told that's the only kind of chairs we have, sorry he said....Too disappointed.
