I LOVE The Whale Tea. I drink boba consistently. I drink matcha consistently. So, I got the matcha strawberry boba, the creme brûlée matcha boba, and the Oreo matcha boba. They were amazing! I always get my drinks with 0-30% sugar at boba places, and that was a good idea here. They have milk options and their prices are affordable. They also offer cashback and points on purchases.

Love boba tea, but this chain is just okay to me. When you come in, you can order from the kiosk or from the register. I like the idea of the kiosk, because you don't feel rushed to order, however, they don't put what's in the drink on the kiosk menu. For example, today I got a passion fruit tea with boba, thinking I would get a passion fruit tea with boba .... I got a passion fruit tea with boba, with limes and watermelon floating in it (I'm allergic to watermelon, so if I knew melon was in the tea, I wouldn't have ordered it)-- I think the kiosk needs to have more specifics about the ingredients of their products. I also ordered a Korean corndog. It wasn't warm on the inside and had no flavor other than whatever oil it was cooked in - definitely skip this. Otherwise, it's a good location, clean and has nice seating inside.

Great milk tea and and a really nice vibe inside. 30% sweetness was perfect for me; really good balance. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes bubble tea!

This place is super cute! I heard they were having a 30% off sale for their soft opening. My son and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon. It was super cute inside. It's brightly lit. There are 2 kiosks inside to order. This was super easy to navigate and quite fun to use. I ordered a passion fruit tea with strawberry boba and my son ordered a watermelon milk tea with tapioca. As we waited for our order and took seats at the table, a nice young lady brought us what looks to be a foam cheese shaped cat. How sweet! And delish! Our drinks were yummy! Can't wait to go back!

This place is so yummy I go like once a week and it's so good every time Everyone here is so nice too

Best boba in the area Never will stop coming here Wonderful staff A huge selection of different drinks and even sweet treats

    Crepe cake

I'm very picky with my boba this is my new favorite place . My husband and I loved our drinks made perfectly , especially the fresh strawberries in it . I also had to try their crepe cake and cheesecake I don't know which one I loved more . They had kiosk at the front so ordering was perfect with pictures of everything.

Servers are great and food + drinks were. The animal abuse on display at the store was really off putting though. The store keeps two betta fish in tiny glass cups that they don't even have space to swim in. Every time they die, they get replaced as well and this has happened multiple times already. Another one of their new fish is clearly about to die again and is struggling to swim and breathe. The owner needs to rehome these poor fish.

Love the ambiance! Great service & the boba was perfect! Right Next to Hot Pot! It's a vibe!

Hidden Gem for Sweet Tooths & Pup Parents!…read more We visited House of Marmalade as part of the Hampton Roads Passport Series, and I am so glad we did -- I don't think I would've discovered this little gem otherwise! The shop is small and cozy with no indoor seating, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm and incredible sweets. The bakery case was absolutely stunning -- full of beautifully made cookies, macarons, and more. We tried three macarons (espresso, almond, and salted caramel), and every single one was perfection -- fresh, flavorful, and just the right size and sweetness. We also grabbed a shortbread cookie, which was buttery and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And let's not forget our pup! Lexi got a pumpkin cupcake with peanut butter icing, topped with a tiny bone-shaped treat -- not only adorable, but she devoured it. Definitely pup-approved! The staff was fantastic -- super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can tell they care about their craft and their customers. Whether you're doing the Passport Tour or just looking for a place to grab something sweet, House of Marmalade is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back!

Once I walked in I felt like I was in someone's home from a time long in the past. As a tall woman I had to watch my head in the doorways as I made my way to the register. They have so many drink options and many baked goods to choose from. I ordered my standard vanilla latte with almond milk and waited for my friend to arrive. Once she came in she immediately told me there was another sitting area towards the back of the building. I thought they only had a small dining room in the entryway. I recommend going further in to enjoy more privacy for your visit. She got an almond croissant and I got a strawberry tart. The workers are super bright and upbeat too. It's an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. Just delicious and a wonderful afternoon stop.

We were able to use the back room in the cafe that had a large table and provided a cozy setting with lots of natural light coming through the windows and cute macaroon-shaped pillows on the chairs. We had hibiscus tea and peach tea for the table to share. The peach tea was everyone's favorite, it didn't even need any added sugar. It was served in cute pastel teapots, though one of the teapots had a chip at the spout which made me a little nervous. We also had macaroons made in-house for the table. I can't remember if I asked the staff if any of the macaroons were dairy free, but I asked my friends at the table and was told there was dairy in them. I later asked the staff if there was any food they offered that was dairy-free and they showed me their pastry counter but ultimately determined that everything offered had dairy, so all I had while at the café was the tea. The ladies I was with loved the macaroons. I wish I could have had some. I recommend at least 1-2 food options be added in the café for folks who have a dairy allergy. Café Genevieve provides a nice atmosphere for tea with a unique setting -- in a 1734 house that is decked out with Parisian decor. It's not the most private setting -- it got pretty noisy during our time there and there were a few interruptions to our conversation. We should have asked if we could have closed the door, because that definitely would have helped with noise and privacy. Overall, the customer service was great and the tea was really good! If you want to meet here for a private event, conversation, or just want some peace and quiet, that back room with the door closed could provide it. It's a nice café to check out.

I came here early on a Friday morning to grab some pastries that I've heard so much about!…read more The girl behind the counter was incredibly friendly and I told her it was my first time in so she gave me the run down of how everything worked in terms of special items, etc. I landed on 2 chocolate croissants, 1 blueberry brioche danish, 1 butter croissant, a banana puff pastry (weekly special), and an orange and cranberry scone. I will say I came in specifically for the chocolate croissant. While it was very good, it was still slightly dry. The scone, butter croissant and the bananas foster puff pastry were phenomenal. The blueberry brioche danish missed the mark. It was far too dense. I walked away with a London fog as well which was delicious! Will return for sure, but it's a bit out of the way, so I hope they put a location in Chesapeake!

Wednesday 8/14/2024…read more I first visited this spot last year in July to get the cinnamon rolls but by the time I arrrived they were all sold out. This time I made sure to get up early so I could finally try it. The service was kind and helpful. I got the cinnamon bun $5 and the choclate crinkle $2.95. - The cinnamon bun was pretty good: it was soft and the ingredients were balanced well. I did expect it to be a bit bigger based on price tag and previous yelp photos I had seen but I'd say it's still worth it. - The chocolate crinkle was recommended by the worker so I got it and it ended up being alright but I've had many better. All in all, my experience at mays parlor was solid and I would definitely recommend that cinnamon bun if you are ever in the mood for one.
