Nothing annoys me more than when people who physically place their order after me, get their drinks before me. In this case it was my brother, who also ordered two drinks, but got his way before me, about 7-8 minutes of total wait. Not sure why they skipped my order, or why it took 27 minutes for two hot drinks but I'm not a happy camper. I don't mind waiting, it's a holiday - I get it, but still I am so irritated. If there was a long wait, they should have communicated that with us. I also don't understand why they serve hot tea in plastic cups with a sleeve and think that's okay. I looked at my previous pictures and they're normal hot cups before, but we've been twice now since we've been back in town and it's been plastic cups. Tea is good, I can't deny that, but not drive 20 minutes out and wait another 27 minutes for it good. They no longer offer BOGO Wednesdays but they do have a 15% off military Monday, and even though the plastic hot cups are annoying, I still recommend the honeydew milk tea years later. This is my favorite boba stop so far. It is connected to Kappo Nara Ramen, and you can get a good meal with your tasty drink. I often come here on the way home from class at TCC. The fruit tea here is made just how I like it. It's like a really yummy juice. I wish they had more options for add-ins, but my go to order is Mango Green Tea with mango popping boba & jelly and I really like it. Next time, I really want to try the Oreo milk tea because I keep forgetting it's non-dairy! I haven't tried a whole lot of the food, but the shumai and the waffle fries are delicious. Plenty of shrimp in the dumplings. I get them fried, and they're deliciously crispy and chewy. The waffle fries are a huge portion for me. They're fried super crispy and are flavorful. Bummer! I really wanted to like Ninja Tea, but my drink was undrinkable. It was unfortunate, since I love milk tea and was in need of caffeine. But it was hard for me to enjoy my beverage. We came here for some afternoon beverages, and when I saw the menu, I asked about the Hong Kong Milk Tea, asking if it's a silk stocking tea, made with a net. The employee said it wasn't, so I just went with their basic house milk tea, the Ninja Tea. There was another customer who also ordered the Ninja Tea, and when they handed him his drink I was worried that mine would look like his because his milk tea looked more white than brown, as if there had been too much milk with. Unfortunately, that was the case with mine too. My tea had wayyy too much milk. I stirred it up, hoping to taste more tea and could barely taste any. It was nearly all milk. Yikes! I ordered my usual hot wintermelon milk green tea with bubbles and also ordered the green tea with bubbles and a strawberry yogurt drink with mango jelly. So glad Koppo Nara Ramen expanded to add a tea house to their shop! The owners are so friendly and helpful in navigating the wide variety of drinks on their menu. My go-to drink is usually a taro slush, but recently have started trying more eclectic flavors. One of my new faves is the Rose milk tea. It has a hint of floral flavor, and the tea is delicious. I really like the Boba from here! There's plenty of flavors to choose from and seeing myself visiting often when I can't get to my #1 spot. No need to rush as there's plenty of space to stay a while and play board games that's provided. The young lady behind the counter wasn't helpful in answering any question I had. After I placed my order, I asked her can they change the sugar level? She said normally yes, but she started my drink so it was too late to do that. I didn't see any signs where you can change the sugar level so if they're not going to provide that info they should be asking customer upon ordering until you know you can. Way, way, WAYYY too sweet. I ordered a horchata (with 50% less sugar!) and added tapioca pearls. I couldn't even get through 3 sips of my drink and had to throw it away :( It was sickeningly sweet, like there was half a cup of sugar in there. And I even asked for less sugar.. yikes! The horchata mix was also gross - a very artificial vanilla flavor that was not at all enjoyable. The ladies working the counter were friendly and helpful. My advice to management: reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe! It's honestly not even palatable, and this is coming from someone who very much enjoys sweet things. It's Saturday evening and I just finished drinking a tasty horchata milk tea from Ninja Tea. The friendly and helpful Anna and Darrin were much obliged to answer all my curiosities on the diverse menu of flavored drinks and additions. I was not disappointed in my ultimate selection, but I will be returning to try the "Tokyo Love", a delicious combination of matcha and red bean and one of her favorites Anna tells me. The "Macau Royal " made with condensed milk sounds palatable as well. My daughters choose the Oreo slushie and mango milk tea. I was able to get a taste of the Oreo slushie, which is comparable to an Oreo Mcflurry but sweeter. I was not fortunate or quick enough to taste the mango milk tea. I'm assuming it was tasty due to the fact she downed it in record time. I'm very happy there is a new great place in Kempsville to grab a delectable tea. I'm even more happy it's attached to my favorite Oriental noodle joint, Kappo Nara. Even better, both places are staffed with personable employees such as Darrin and Anna. About a 2-2.5: Ninja Tea is connected to Kappo Nara Ramen, offering milk tea, fresh-brewed tea, slushies, fruit tea, fresh milk/dirty tea (using fresh milk, you have brown sugar, red bean, Oreo, chocolate, coffee, black sesame, and taro as your options), international drinks (such as Thai tea, horchata, and Duke Earl Rose), as well as various toppings (brulee, Oreo, whipped cream, milk cap, purple coconut rice, jellies, and popping bubbles). I ordered the Very Berry Jasmine, the Honey Green Tea, and the Macau Royal Milk Tea - honestly, I didn't enjoy any of these drinks. I was a bit surprised that there was only one staff member there who was tending to both taking in orders from the customers and making the drinks - it seemed very fast-paced and overwhelming! Unfortunately, the tea seemed to have been over-steeped, as they were very bitter; the fruit/fruit syrup that was used to coyingly sweet and just not enjoyable. The milk tea was too watered down, and all the drinks ended up being tossed. There are only a few tables inside, but most seem to get their orders to go - it definitely gets packed, so Ninja Tea seems to be popular with the locals. My wife introduced me to this place. I really enjoy their teas, both hot and cold. She always gets a hot honeydew tea, but I like trying new things. My favorites are a hot strawberry milk tea and an iced dirty brown sugar tea. My daughter will chug the strawberry tea if I'm not careful, so it's safe to say it's really good. I went in today to get an iced boba tea. It's cool how it's hooked to the ramen restaurant right next door- I actually didn't know either of these places was here, so I decided to pop in on my way to get groceries at Kroger's around the corner. I'm used to the boba tea at Lynnhaven Mall- JellyBall, so I have high standards. I wasn't too thrilled about this place- I probably won't return again. The girl at the counter must've been new- she didn't know anything, which was fine- she was potentially in training (hopefully). It was really confusing on how or what to order. Another girl stepped over to help me order, but I didn't get asked the option to make it more/less sugar, or any other questions that were on the little sign that I saw after I ordered. Walking in, it's connected to Kappo Nara Ramen just like how kung fu tea in virginia beach is connected to their sister restaurant. She sold me on the Honey Charcoal Roast Oolong tea. I asked her if there's any added sugar in it and she said that they put honey and a little bit of sugar to balance out the bitterness but like I said, I don't mind it bitter so I told her to get rid of the sugar all together and just have the honey. She even said that she could add peach to it if I wanted a fruity taste. Sure! why not. I got a large with added Boba for 50 cents and less ice. The tea was made perfectly to my liking and it was so refreshing! I am very pleased. It didn't taste too sweet just how I wanted. I am always super excited to see local bubble tea cafes open - but I was even more excited to see Ninja Tea's menu! They offer a variety of milk tea, fresh brewed tea, fruit teas, slushies, and yogurt drinks! They come in a lot of different flavors that I haven't really seen at other local cafes! I was interested to see flavors like white peach, honey dew, and lychee!! You can add your choice of "toppings" including: boba, oreo, brulee, whipped cream, nata jelly, popping bubbles and more! This is the best place to go for an iced chai latte I'm telling you! It's delicately sweet and the tapioca is soft and chewy . They add whip cream for extra creaminess. I personally believe the creamier it is, the better it tastes. Never going back to Starbucks for this drink again. My first experience wasn't as good as I expected. I told the cashier "no boba", but after a long wait (10 mins) it came out with boba and little ice. My drink was warm. My favorite on the menu is their 'We celebrate the world'.. it's a variety of drinks from other countries like the horchata. I ordered the taro milk dirty tea. What makes it dirty is adding brown sugar. It's really tasty, but like I said it was really warm due to little ice. I had to go home and add ice myself. I'm willing to come back and try other things. But know the discounts cannot be combined. So, after eating my meal at Kappo Nara that shares with the restaurant I wasn't going to pass on Ninja Tea. Ninja tea is owned by the same owner of Kappo Nara and this was a great opportunity to expand by including the tea shop. I asked the waitress Jasmine if we could order from the Ninja tea menu to include in our Kappo Nara bill to simplify the transaction. She said yes and gave me a menu. There was a of options. "Lavender Cheesecake"...I wondered..cheesecake bits in a drink...how different... Horchata..yummy... It would be nice for the menu to have entailed descriptions written under some of the inordinary drinks. It wouldve made it easier for others to know what they would be ordering. I honestly had no clue about some of their drink selections. The menu was vast and a lot to choose from. The Celebrate From the World concoction of teas looked interesting. The "Tokyo Lover" i believe having matcha and red bean..very different. "Teagito"...was a tea my waitress couldn't explain. I think she said the "fresh milk dirty tea" had some brown sugar floating in it... I narrowed my choice to my usual favorite but they named it "Honey Charcoal Roasted Oolong Tea." I love Oolong Honey teas but I thought it would be rather different knowing the name was more extra then the usual. Is there a difference when roasting oolong in charcoal? I order this to see if it was different or in comparison to the original flavor. The. check the taste quality it had against other bubble tea shops in the 757 area. I loved that they had extra add ons other than the typical boba. You can choose from I love popping bubbles, brulee(egg custard), oreo, purple rice (that's new), the milk cap (sea salt cheese), other jellies etc. I got the milk cap in addition to my oolong. It had to be around 10 minutes after we ordered. We got out of our chairs to head to Ninja tea connected to Kappo Nara to see what was going on. I asked them if they had our order. They were just making it. Hmm it had to be busy. Well if two extra customers aside from my husband and I was too much to handl, then perhaps the workers here were new. They opened 4 months ago.. so i understood that they perhaps were in a transition phase and maybe still training the employees. The one lady who made my drink was rather sweet and the other girl beside her..i think was in training They knew were waiting so patiently. My husband's red bean milk tea came ready. But she had to ask me again what my order was because my oolong was still not ready. Red bean milk tea was new for both of us. If you like clumps of sweet red beans (adzuki beans) then you would like it. The boba was cooked perfectly. it was not overcooked, hard or gummy.. so that's a positive. I perhaps would've ordered it as a slushie for a smoother consistency. I waited for an extra 5-10 minutes before she could make my drink. It was slow waiting about 20 minutes to have our drinks total. She made up for it by upgrading my drink to a large. I like there ice shaking machine.. it's pretty cool. Sadly, the customer beside me wasn't to happy with their order because they forgot his boba in his drink order. Mine came out just fine. Milk cap topping made it good but the oolong tea was sweeter than my normal. I couldn't complain too much. I wasnt too happy about the longer wait. All in all.. I think they need to do more work if they are trying to keep up to other competitors but the great part is that they have a good location. The Providence Rd shopping center is a great area. (Important to Note).. i did not get my buy1get1 free tea... This is because I didn't pay in the register of Ninja tea but included it in my receipt for Kappo Nara. Why they didn't have the promotion available in the same shop as Kappo Nara.?! I have no clue.. That wasn't addressed to me at the time of the purchase. It was not a big deal but sadly in my opinion, if they are linked to Kappo Nara they should've honored the same promotion all together.
