Being the health nut that I am, I normally go to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's for most of my bulk food shopping. Those supermarkets are about a 30 minute drive each way, not including traffic. To my surprise I have discovered a Harris Teeter within 2 miles from my home. Only an 8 minute drive! Previously I had not been a fan of Harris Teeter. I thought that although they had some variety I felt that their prices were a bit high. Upon hearing more an more of my fitness buddies swearing by Harris Teeter I have decided to give them another shot and see what goodies I could find. As a health conscious consumer that has a small child and family members that do not care for having a healthy lifestyle. I always find myself making two totally separate shopping lists and having to go to multiple supermarkets to buy everything I need. This can be quite challenging, time consuming and down right annoying. Let's get down to the meat and potatoes shall we! Upon arriving to this Harris Teeter location I see that there is ample free parking and the supermarket is conveniently located on a strip that has a Starbucks, Moe's, ABC Liquor and a cool pizza parlor on the corner that I must check out and review! I have been to a few other Harris Teeters previously and could not find exactly what I was looking for but I think they have started to really bump their game up! The variety of Organic Produce has substantially increased.. even offering locally grown lettuces... micro greens and fresh herbs. I was pleasantly surprised with all the lovely items I found and purchased.. During my shopping adventure, the deli, food bar and seafood/ meat area was closed but I was extremely happy to know that this supermarket stays open until midnite! That is awesome! I think I will be coming here more often. The store was super clean, well organized and the staff randomly offered me assistance even when I was casually browsing. I am glad I used their assistance because they were able to guide me to find more vegan products.. In conclusion I will say that I highly reccomend this supermarket. I was very happy to see that they carried some healthy go to items and brands that I use quite often in my home. Such as Vegan Dairy products from Nature's Promise. (the best tasting and most authentic Vegan cheese). BEYOND BURGERS!!!! I would drive over 45 minutes to pick up a few packs of these. I was surprised to see not only were they one sale but the brand also carried vegan sausage links that I must try. These are the burgers used in restaurants that are the most authentic to real beef burgers. They even look medium rare when you cook them because beet juice is used to give them that juicy beefy look upon cooking. They also had cauliflower pizza crust to make your own pizzas for family movie night!!! Can you hear my enthusiasm? . Harris teeter has secured themself a new customer! I highly reccomend Harris Teeter and will definitely be returning soon. Sharing some pics of my cool finds.

Sold me some moldy bread. I consumed some before noticing . I called to let manager know and she completely lacked empathy or concern and just told me I could get refund with receipt like it was normal business for them to sell bad products.

honestly used to love this harris teeter but recently i have bought foul chicken from there and instantly had to get it exchanged for fresh chicken after realizing and i just bought strawberries that had a decomposing bitten strawberry hidden in it that i didnt notice till i dug through them and found it and these things have happened almost within the same week.theyre a decent store if you have vic but they need to do better at keeping up with the state of their inventory bc its starting be grimey

Grocery shopping used to be a "first world problem" chore for my wife and I but this store changed our outlook because of their: A) Selection, particularly produce, is excellent, especially when coupled with B) sales, VIC specials and coupon deals as everything under $1 doubles daily; several times a year, they double up to $2 coupons too, aka "super doubles." C) EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE by Ryan, Alex, George and their staff that embody "caring for the customer." Anything we've needed, they always smile earnestly and reply with "my pleasure" and/or "no problem!" They even recently donated to our kids' school fundraiser! D) $8 PIZZA Mondays's & $5 ft long SUB Friday's feed our small army at regular b- quality without paying a fortune. Use the HT app to order them ahead! E) online/app grocery ordering with curbside pickup. The shared parking lot can be busy making for long hikes in the cold/rain; kudos for having reserved spaces for veterans and people with young children. On occasion, we've encountered stock deficiencies but most times, HT gladly substitutes another brand/in-stock item for the lower price. Simply informing cashiers has resulted in many worry-free price corrections from substitutions and things that just rang-up wrong.

I had the same idea of sticking up my fave things: milk, Kobe beef brisket cold cuts $19.99 per lb but soooooo good so worth it! Best warm store-baked bread with it: cranberry orange bread. Still warm from the oven (with such a warm friendly smile from the bakery staff diligently slicing and bagging the bread!) In case I get snowed in, got myself dark chocolate hummus, great for my sweets craving without the guilt. LOVE Wegmans: such unique offerings. *****

I specifically come here for their Marcona almonds (obsessed), glazed pecans, and their fresh tomato bruschetta. The bakery is also a standout--they offer these specialty half loaves, and I recently tried the garlic bread that was recommended by someone in the bakery. It doesn't have chunks of garlic inside, but instead is coated with garlic butter and seasoning on the outside, and it was absolutely delicious. Another go-to for me is their fresh pasta section. When I don't feel like making pasta from scratch, this is my go-to spot. They also have a really nice selection of Italian cheeses, which I always end up browsing a little longer than I planned. I also had a really positive customer service experience during this visit. While in self-checkout, I saw a promotion for a free bag through the app but couldn't locate the coupon. Kim, who was working in the self-checkout area, was very helpful and even called ahead to customer service for me. When I went over, they honored the promotion without any hassle, which I really appreciated. Overall, between the unique product selection and the helpful staff, Wegmans continues to be a go-to for me.

Not a lot of name brands on the shelves...as expected, except Goya products. But plenty of everything else. Many outdoor and clothing items. Children's clothes and toys. Dropped $77.00 on goods, including anchovies, coffee pods, apple sauce, bird seed, gardening gloves, mushrooms, honey, marzipan bar, bandaids, vinegar, huge water jugs, Old Bay seasoning, Tajik seasoning, citrus scented trash bags and a paper bag to carry the small stuff.

Employees aren't unfriendly, just scarce, semi-avoidant and unhelpful. Today, an employee approached me with "Sir, we don't allow photo taking in our store." When I realized he was serious, I asked for an explanation and to see the corporate policy (he didn't answer); as a Yelper, I shared that photos brought authenticity, then asked if I would be kicked out if I continued. "I've been instructed to ask people not to take pictures." I'm sure there's a reason but I was annoyed! This is Lidl not a government building. Was someone in witness protection? The visit rolled downhill when I saw a sale flyer item I wanted (gingerbread village kit) but the 3 employees I approached couldn't tell me where it was. I found it myself at the very front of the store after I wasted 5-10 minutes of my life I won't get back. For us, future return visits don't look good. If you go, here's a detailed evolution... EARLY PROS? Big parking lot with wide spaces. Fresh bakery items with some uncommon varieties (cherry jelly filled donut) plus free samples. Customer operated digital scales/printers to price your own produce/bakery items. Weekly sales, app specials and perennial markdowns. New store so inside was pretty clean and bright. SO-SO's? Most products are unknown generic brands that you roll the dice on to later learn what to buy/not buy. BYOB: bring your own bags or PAY for theirs. The wannabe department store items in those rear center aisle bins made me chuckle; felt like a swap meet "get your frozen pizzas, pajamas, crepe makers, footballs, and screw drivers over here!" The appeal is gone. So are the samples and scales/printer terminals (ppl were cheating the system). Stock availability is hit and miss, especially with sale items, dairy and baked goods.
