Less than 8 hours ago, I decided to get some groceries from this Harris Teeter location (near the Ward's Corner Center) in Norfolk Virginia to get some groceries. Some of the groceries I purchased from this Harris Teeter's location: mango peach applesauce, strawberry applesauce, avocado cilantro lime triscuits, parmesan & garlic triscuits, etc. read more

Unfortunately the staff at this store doesn't know anything about their online pick up service I purchased items online and their system I did not pick up my order it said that the ZIP Code did not match I called them because the charge still came through on my bank and they told me that there wasn't anything that they could do that I had to contact customer service which would be closed until Monday and they said that basically too bad No groceries management sucks don't shop hereIt's sad that they can't even help their customers when there's a problem with their system won't ever ever ever ever go to the store again and I will travel clear across town just to get groceries to keep from going to Harris Teeter read more

I visited Harris Teeter this morning around 6:15am. As I was departing, I kindly said "excuse me" to a security guard name Mr. Crouch was gabbing with an HT clerk. He repsonded, "whatever you want sissy". That is a very unkind word, not even knowing my personal life. The HT workers, about four in proximity, did absolutely nothing to isolate this nasty old man. In fact, one worker promoted his "sissy" comment on the store floor. He later ordered me to leave, but I was only half-checked out. I told him, "If you want me out, why don't you may for my two items and then I will leave!" He then called me a "sissy" again. As I departed having paid, he quoted Biblical scripture against Homosexuality (so he thinks) to me and ordered me to "seek Jesus for salvation". I told him to stop "preaching" at me---he refused. I screamed anti-Gay slurs in the parking lot. A bystander worker contributed to the epithets. HT and its contractors have no business prying into my personal life or anyone else's privacy. Thus, HT must terminate the contractual services of Mr. Crouch and Service International for whom he works. read more

I have never been disappointed at a Harris Teeter. If I have a complaint is that they have too many choices. This location is clean and well stocked. Whenever I've had a question about a product, I've been given an answer...then and there. There was no, " I don't work in this department. Let me find someone who can help you." I get my answer then. If I have a complaint it is that there are NEVER enough cashiers. (However, that is almost the case anywhere one goes these days.) read more

Love the selection at this store. Hate the lines. Today at 1:45-2 pm, self-checkout line was all the way down the beer isle and they had 2 other lines open, both with lines down the isles. I asked the manager if they were opening more lanes. They expected someone in shortly was the answer. She said she was sorry. I said I was sorry too and left. Had a whole cart of food that I just walked away from. This is a recurring issue at this store. Wish we had other options in Wards Corner. read more

It's the newest addition to the many grocery stores in wards corner area. Welcome the most expensive of them all. The HT is conveniently located just 2 light stop away from the nearest 64 exit. It's pretty much the same as all the other HTs. There's a fresh salad bar (although how fresh could it really be if its been sitting out in the open all day?) There's also a fruit bar right next to it all smack right in front of the entrance. Nothing much else to say, its the usual HT. Pricey but if you use a VIC card, double coupon days, and E-Coupon with your card, you may be able to purchase certain items for much cheaper. Oh and they also do order online/pickup here. read more

Haven't been to this Harris Teeter in years. I remember why the customer service is the worst. I stood at the sandwich bar 10 minutes not one employee acknowledged me, they were so slow,so I went over to the pizza bar. Same thing, 3 males were chatting amongst themselves didn't ask if I needed help, so I walked off. Came back one gentlemen asked how could he help, I placed order got my items. Went back to sandwich bar, 1 person in line, they were taking their time talking to each other not assisting just bad. Would expect a high priced store to at least say we will be right with you, guess certain customers get treated a certain way. Kroger is much better. read more

Update: Now that they've been open for awhile, they are slacking. They still have good variety, but I often run into expired products on the shelves/in the coolers. Also, the pizza counter has a great deal on Mondays... If you can get them to make you one. Ordering is atrocious, and the last several pizzas have been either burnt or undercooked. They used to be on point. Thankfully, there's a pizza joint that just went in a couple doors down. Meh, I guess if it seems too good to be true it really must be. read more

Good place to shop. There prices are responsible and their selection is good. It also helps that they have a great staff who seem to be knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly, we were able to get in and out quickly. read more

Done with Harris Teeter. The VIC card is such a hassle. If they don't ask for it before they ring you out you have to go to customer service then find out you only save $.40. Just list the prices and treat everyone the same. read more

I really like going here but they get 3 stars because some of their cashiers are rude.We told a cashier that what she rung up was supposed to be on sale and she got annoyed. Then the blonde cashier kept giving us dirty looks because showed them in their sales paper where it was on sale.We were not rude but not paying full price either.Oh and no one else was in line but us.They need to understand that due to the pandemic a lot of people are not working and on a strict budget. read more

I am soooo happy when they open this Harris teeter! No need to go all the way to Ghent! Fruits and veggies are always fresh! Except for the English cucumbers they are always soggy! Great prices on some of the fruits like mangos! I been buying their fruit tarts for every event, really good price and def better than a cake. Fresh berries, I believe tarts are made every am. Everyone that works there is very friendly, I wish they had more registers open but that happens in every single store I guess. Hope this area keeps expanding and we keep getting nice stores and keep them that way! Yay read more

Harris Teeter - Yum - Grocery Near Me - Norfolk, Virginia

Harris Teeter is the best place around to get steaks from and produce. You would want to be a VIC card member to get their sales. I don't mind putting a little card on my keychain at all. The store is always very clean looking which makes me super comfortable to buy anything from there. They carry deli meats that you can't find at other grocery stores. I found deli meats for my homemade Italian subs that were hard to find. Their butcher shop is very well presented and you can find sales on the meat as well. Overall, a very nice grocery store with nice employees. read more

Just disgusted how much this place continues to go down in quality so many fruit flies around all the tomato's and why because of the handful of rotten tomatoes which was just about all they had also . Can't believe how much I have watched this store decline since opening and customer service had crashed since farm fresh closing. I really though it would have gone up but with almost no completion they feel oh well sad read more

While the customers at this location often lack manners, I have never had an issue with the staff. Everyone is polite and willing to help when asked. In an age where customer service industries are trying their best to provide basic needs to the public, it seems that the management at this store has not let their mission to provide the best shopping experience possible be compromised. read more

Love this place! There aren't many grocery stores that I will go back to after a huge shopping trip just because I forgot ice cream. It's crazy peaceful here, the majority of the staff is extremely nice (one of the night managers and a cashier woman need some light in their life but everyone else's abundance of cheer makes up for that). My parents were in from out of town and were introduced to and tried an exotic fruit from a manager/owner, the other day the lady working self checkout bought my daughter some candy, etc, etc. And the best part is all of the awesome deals like buy one get one free with your (free) VIC card. Love their selection for organics too!! Can't wait to leave VA in a year but I wish there was a way we could take Harris Teeter with us. Cross country expansion please!!!! read more

I love shopping here the environment is so nice the customers are u polite there prices are perfect too I recommend shopping here if u never been here read more

I have been coming in the Wards Corner Harris Teeter for lunch a few times and have always enjoyed the Asian and salad bars. The employee that runs it came out today and asked how everthing was. He seemed generally pleased to hear great comments. I think this young man is outstanding. He is also very good at cook and seems to take pride in what he does. read more

Harris Teeter might be a little pricey for some, but they actually do have some good sales. I have to drive about 8 miles from my house and pass 2 Food Lion and a farm fresh, but the meats are 10 times better. The store is always very clean and well stocked and I can't say enough about customer service, the employees are always very helpful. Wish I could say the same about farm fresh and Food Lion. read more

I like the Ghent store better but they do carry organic and a good cheese selection. Better aisle space to move around / get what you need. read more

Harris Teeter is my go-to store for fresh fruit and bread. The store is always stocked and neat the the staff are friendly and attentive.

Awwwwwwwwww TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET....Awwwwwwwwww TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET, TEET!!!!!!!!!! I love Harris Teeter. I was excited that they put one at Wards Corner, it's not too far from my job to come on my lunch break and they have a nice sitting area with tables and chairs if you are so inclined to eat lunch/dinner/snack on the premises (I see Teet giving FF a run for the money) I love how clean and well organized this store is and how nice the employees are. The produce is super fresh and the MEAT! The meats are so delicious, I can really taste the quality of the food. I love the deli section. What's not to love. They have pizza, a sub station, fresh bread station, trail mix bar, salad bar, roasted chicken, pre made sandwiches, pre made salads, UNLIMITED SAMPLES and a bakery. Everything that I have tried is excellent. If you are a seafood lover, do yourself a favor and try the Harris Teeter Signature Crab Cakes!!!!!!!! When I tell you that they are so buttery, moist and melt in your mouth delicious, with about 97% lump crab meat and only 3% breading, one of the best crab cakes I have ever had in my life. I do self checkout - but I have noticed that there is a line during the times that I've been in here for lunch. Since they are a new location, just give them some time to work all the kinks out! read more

We've been coming since it opened. It's still clean and well maintained but I have noticed an employee problem. Why does it take me longer every time to check out? No baggers ever and usually 2 lanes open. Did they run out of people in Norfolk to hire? I would prefer to bag my own groceries if I could actually get out of line in less than 20 minutes. read more

I'm so excited that we have a new Harris Teeter just up the street. Although I'm smack in the middle of this location and the one in Ghent, I'm excited to start shopping here. I was there today for opening day and it was crazy busy - but that was expected. The new footprint (K&K square) is such an improvement for the area. My cashier was so sweet and I'm sure he's going to get a very good night's sleep after today! read more

Had great steaks today. Corn was awesome. Sausage and cheese well priced. Three 3.00 bucks. Eat some people.

The pizza was great.. beginning to think this is the best place to eat in norfolk.

This is probably the least impressive Harris Teeter in the area. Came here at around 6:30 PM on a weekday for a salad... and the salad bar looked like someone let their baby loose in it. Because babies are messy. It was crazy messy. There were also fruit flies in the mixed greens & spinach. I'm not sure that fruit flies even like mixed greens. Maybe the fruit was too messy for them & they wanted to move on to a healthier option? Who knows. The point is, they were in there & that was upsetting. Even though this is a fancy new location & the floors are new & shiny I'll probably drive right on past this one to the HT in Ghent. read more

Love having an HT close to the house.

Love coming to Harris teeter where you are greeted with smiling faces and usually overflowing shelves! I love the produce section always fresh and good quality! Organic section is of course my favorite. Quite a good selection and if you are in need of something they don't carry find someone and they will try to get it! Love the bakery section now offers half loaves of freshly cut bread! Now I can try everything! I could go on. read more

this store always has a great selection and is the only store i like to shop at, however the lines are disgustingly long and i have ground myself frequently putting my few items back and deciding to come back on my days off. i work 15 hour days and standing in line for 40 minutes is the last thing i want to do. please open up more lines! read more

I lived in Houston for a bit and we have a store called H E B. This store reminds me of that, except much pricier. Granted if you go during sales and use your card you can snag some great deals. I do enjoy their fruit and vegetables they have better than anywhere else. They always seem fresher than most places. Although I prefer to go later at night because during the day this place is crazy busy and folks aren't really polite with shopping carts. My gf enjoys the sushi pretty frequently and I love the Harris Teeter brand nonsweetened almond milk. The store is always clean and usually in order. The cashiers have always been polite and quick but the first time I went I was very confused as to where to put my basket. Lol I would recommend this store to anyone buy be sure to check sales! read more

This is basically a one stop for just about everything. Though I haven't been here for breakfast, but the bakery has plenty to offer. The lunch specials are tough to beat, either if you want subs, salads or something from the deli. They also have a pharmacy and florist. I'm definitely a frequent customer here. You won't regret it. read more

By far the nicest, and cleanest supermarket around. Typical supermarket, disorganized deli counter, checkout, and high prices are the only gripes. read more

It was very nice when it first opened but of course everything new is nice. Now the customer service is wall mart quality with HT prices. Don't try asking anybody for help cause OMG it will be the end of the world. I stood by the salad bar watching as the cook of the Chinese buffet opened containers left on the bar and put it back in!!! I told him that wasn't sanitary but he ignored me and continued. I guess their loss should be minimal but who knows who touched that food???If that is the rule of the store manager he or she should go back to Learn How to Maintain a Food-Safe Environment. WOW. Shame on you Harris Teeter. I don't want to get food poisoning so i'm done with this store. read more

I shop here often and love this store! The store is clean and the vast majority of employees are helpful and kind (I've only come across a few grumps, but everyone has a bad day here and there). As long as you primarily shop their weekly deals, their prices rival those of other stores in the area. The girls in the pharmacy are lovely women with a wealth of knowledge. I love that they seem to greet most of their customers by first name; it's heartwarming to know you are more than a prescription number! I highly recommend this store. read more

Love love love Harris Teeter. We do the online shopping and pick up our groceries weekly. I don't mind grocery shopping now but with 2 young kids and husband with leg problems its been a lifesaver. It's also helped us save money because we aren't tempted to buy junk. I've only had a few problems. One time they undercharged our card and I didn't realize until we got a call (would have realized once I checked our account though) so we had to go back in. So much better then overcharging though! And sometimes you get a shopper who doesn't get the best produce. But those are such minor things! Everything is awesome at this store and they are very friendly. read more

First time using their order online/pick-up a minor disaster. They gave me the wrong groceries. The bags were marked with my name, but nothing in the bags was what I ordered. The people who actually received my order lucked out. Decided not to wait around for them to fill new bags. Will not be shopping there again. read more

I really like Harris Teeter for their subs & donuts, BUT, when they run out of sub ingredients by 6 pm on a Friday night, on a continuous basis, I think they need to 1. rethink their deli managers ability to do their job, or 2. make it a point to have the necessary supplies for ALL sub types for the entire time they offer subs in each day. I'm so tired of Harris Teeter running out of sub rolls, philly steak meat and various other items. I even order online 2 hours before I want to pick up my subs, then call the store and ask them to pull the product so I can have my subs 2 hours later and I still get a call from them saying they have ran out of the stuff to make my subs. Why didn't they pull the stuff when I called??? GRRRRRR, this really irritates me and Harrris Teeter needs to work on their offerings of subs on a Friday night. read more

Ok, a new clean store is always impressive at first.....the problem is- EVERYONE is going there right now......so a weekend shopping trip turns into a 30 minute check out experience. Not to mention having to weave your cart strategically through the crowds of crazy, space-cadets floating through the aisles. Furthermore, their selection is pretty standard. I'm surprised to say that the Farm Fresh just down the way has a better selection of unique, gourmet items and a better price. If you are NOT like me- in that you are not looking for really unique food items such a coriander chutney, mangosteen, blue cornmeal, etc......don't sweat it. But I personally enjoy finding new exciting foods as I stroll through the store. That's just my preference. My husband would completely disagree....he likes to get in, get out and move on. Harris Teeter is just too new and busy to let a "quick trip" really happen. Meh. read more

DO NOT USE THEIR DELIVERY SERVICE! 1st of all, they use UBER and charge you DOUBLE the price UBER would charge to "deliver" your goods. If you purchase anything that goes by weight, the charge you an estimate AND THEN charge your total bill AGAIN once the weighted items have been weighed out...which then takes them "3-5 days" to reverse the original charge. I was charged over $400- for my $160- worth of groceries due to the double bill. Oh yeah, they also add a $20- "hold" on the card which equals $40- if you happened to have made the grave mistake of ordering a weighted item. read more
