She stopped what she was doing to take me to where they were. It was a good distance away. I asked another employee, Jess, for help finding Hard Cider. Same thing. Stopping what she was doing just to help me. Finally, the cashier Amanda, went above and beyond to put rubber bands around my cakes, double bagged the heavier groceries then used a Wegman's Card that would save me money. None of these ladies had to go the extra mile. But they did! Hats off to these ladies. I will be going back again!!

The space has had a number of occupants over the years. When we moved to Virginia Beach, it was an A&P. That gave water to a Farm Fresh. Both were long term grocers who eventually went out of business. The space was emptied for a while as Haygood Shopping Center underwent a massive face lift in anticipation of Harris Teeter. Having previously shopped at their store near Sam's Club on Virginia Beach Boulevard I anticipated the opening. But the reality brought a lack of customer service in the spacious store with wide aisles. For years I never considered shopping at Harris Teeter. Lately I've reevaluated that choice. I've found they have my favorite flavor of high protein yogurt. Their produce is fresh & full of flavor. A big plus is their distilled water in the type of container that's easy to maneuver. It's also priced right. Harris Teeter is definitely is a step above a number of the chain grocers in Coastal Virginia. But it's a step below others, lacking the prepared or ready to prepare entrees that make life so much easier. I'm happy I rediscovered Harris Teeter. It's nice to add another store to my shopping mix.

I love a liquor store that offers strong customer service and this store deliveries. I've only…read morevisited a handful of times, however both times friendly and helpful staff at the Virginia ABC off the boulevard. Parking is directly in front of the store with a curbside offering. The lot and walk up clear of debris. Signage is fine on the building but the road is a good distance. Find them in between Sam's Warehouse and Harris Teeter. The store is about average size for a state run liquor store in Virginia. Two checkout counters are on both sides as you enter and they were staffed. Bourbon is on the left side and I was looking for anything new in inventory. The store needs an update, however it was clean and well organized. The selection was very good, not great as I saw missing items. The manager pointed out a few bourbons delivered three days prior on a specialty shelf. Nothing looked appealing, however it was a nice opportunity to talk about what they may get in. I left empty handed, but that's ok. I will probably come back since this is in an area I frequent. 3.5 rounding up with strong service. NOTE: My large scale update of the entire Virginina ABC Store system has pretty much concluded. What's left is adding stores Yelp does not have listed on their site which is still approximately 100.

The location is visible off Ferrell Parkway in a strip. The store is on the corner of the building. Parking is plentiful and lit clean. This was delivery day so the store had some nice allocated bottles of bourbon. Boxes were on the floor as they rushed product up the best they could. It appeared they were short staffed, who isn't these days. I found what I was looking for in a Knob Creek 12 year and a EH Taylor Small Batch. The manager checked me out and was friendly. She discussed a few things going on with Virginia ABC that was helpful. This is not a regular, but recommend and would happily return.

I was there yesterday , June 19th. It was 6:50 PM, 10 minutes before closing. There was a short…read moreolder guy named Mickey monitoring the door, making sure that everyone was wearing a mask. During the 10 minutes I was in the store I watched this man be very disrespectful to the employees and customers. He was telling the employees to "Just shut up and do what I say." I must've heard him tell the two guys working the registers to "shut up" at least five times.... they weren't even saying anything in the first place! He was also just shouting orders at the customers entering the store. The store was busy because it was 10 minutes before they closed so Mickey was trying to get everyone out of the store so he could close up. Around 6:55 he told the 2 men working the registers , as well as the 4 or 5 people waiting outside that they would be the last customers of the day. A younger black woman that was waiting outside didn't have a mask, so he told her that she couldn't come in. At 6:58 - About 3 minutes after he stated that there would be no other customers, a middle aged white man approached the door and said "All I need is 1 bottle of Jack Daniels" and pretty much begged to be let it in. **THIS GUY DID NOT HAVE A MASK AND MICKEY LET HIM RIGHT IN- NO QUESTIONS ASKED.** As the man entered the store, the younger black woman that Mickey denied entry to made a comment about how she was not let it because she didn't have a mask - just 3 minutes earlier. Mickey reluctantly let her in the store. She told him that what he did was not fair. I agree with her. It seemed blatantly racist. All of the customers in the store also agreed. Once the other customer started to chime in , Mickey started to say , "Oh, here we go again...." That guy literally didn't see anything wrong with what he did. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed immediately.

I have had the pleasure of dealing directly with her once on a specific issue that was quickly resolved. They receive their deliveries on Monday morning. I grabbed my 375ml bottle of Absolut and attempted to check out. He took the bottle from me and then said, "You look amazing." I just laughed it off. He kept staring at me, not scanning the product. Super creepy. Then, even worse, he said, "We need to get a drink sometime," and finally scanned it. And I'm convinced he kept screwing with the POS to make my card not read on the device, and he was just eating me up the whole time with his eyes. He restarted the whole transaction again so I could finally pay. Then, he was like, "So, want to get a drink?" and I just walked off with what I bought, laughing it off again. I'm not one for confrontation, I just wanted to get away. He then was like "Oh.... ok." disappointedly. I was super creeped out. This really isn't any way for state employees to treat people. It was just gross. If I'm going to the ABC store, I want to buy their products, not get harassed by their employees. Watch out if you're a lady.
