First time at this Chesapeake ABC located off Cedar road in a strip behind Wendy's. Signage is good…read morefrom the road. Surface parking was spacious and no debris in sight. The shopping center appears to be thriving with grocery anchor Harris Teeter. Spaces are nearby, but not directly in front. Curbside is offered by arranging ahead. The store is on the smaller floor plan and very compact. The bourbon area takes up a full wall. The selection was 5 star with several hard to find rare bourbons such as EH Taylor, Blanton's and Blade & Bow 22 year that's a whopping $470 bottle. Three checkouts are up front with two operational. They had an orderly line when opening. No issues with my card being processed and the cashier was friendly enough but busy with a line 10 back. This store is not close to my home, so I most likely will not return here for my booze. Otherwise it's ok, nothing special. An A-OK from me. 3.5 rounding down as the store floor space is limited.

Great location…read more.. In and out... No complaints! Well I visited on a Tuesday with hopes of having my own Taco Tuesday experience at home. As a result, I needed tequila. I dropped off the interstate and headed toward this location off of the busy Frederick Blvd. in Portsmouth. This store is fairly new as well as the area itself. Portsmouth is still developing this area of downtown by adding more shops and living spaces. I am loving the change(s)... Well this store is located among other shops such as: Little Caesars, a Philly Cheesesteak eatery, Kroger, TJMAxx, etc and it's walking distance from Wal-Mart. I was in the store about five minutes searching high and low for the best tequila. Well I guess I was taking a little too long or looked like I needed help, because an associate asked "is there something I can help you with" - I said no... but after a few more minutes, I ended up asking, "which tequila do you prefer?" I told him I wanted it straight and something smooth and one that soothes... He pointed one out without hesitation. Now I don't know if he was 100% honest with me, but he offered to mention, "that's what I drink" - hmmmm ok. Well for $27+ I am willing to try it. The store is medium size in square feet, so more than likely you'll find what you're looking for or an alternative. I'd recommend you visit this shop, I mean it's among everything and less than a mile from I264. Parking shouldn't be an issue, I've never had one. But I haven't visited during a peak time either... this past visit on a Tuesday afternoon, it may have been three others in the store with me... Have fun and enjoy life :)

The parking lot had a decent amount of debris. Availability of spaces seemed adequate for my weekend visit. I requested curbside service and confirmed with the store early afternoon. My purchase was a hard to find typically not available for purchase by curbside or store pick up. The staff said to call upon arrival and they would deliver to me in my vehicle. Once I arrived I decided to go inside just in case they had anything else interesting on the shelf. The store is small, but had a healthy amount of bourbon on the shelf. I did not see anything worthy of spending more money. The staff had my package bagged up and I had already purchased online. The employees were friendly. The receipt was attached. So an easy grab and go process. My score was a Makers Mark Wood Finishing Series. Grab if you see it. This store is far from where I reside, so I most likely will not return. The staff alone makes me want to round up, but the debris and size of the store puts them at a 3.5.

It's a busy strip with nearby Chick Fil A. Surface parking is adequate. I really like the newer renovated ABC's and this one is not a disappointment. It's a large store with great amount of inventory. The bourbon section is adequate, but nothing mind blowing. A sales associate was stocking on my last visit and offered help. That elevates them for sure to above par. The store was clean and organized. I found a Sazreac Rye and checked out. I'm sure I will return.

Now to buy the mixes... there's no shortage on the variety of mixes here. Plenty to choose from! And some were even on sale! Pre-made margaritas are on sale for less than $19 per 1.75L. I also got a few nice bottles of rum ranging from $25-$40. I'm happy with my selection and the employees are super friendly. Checkout is quick and my cashier even loads almost all my bottles in a box for me. Mission accomplished for $200!

Located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Kempsville. The store is West side of the strip with excellent signage. The center is updated and has plenty of parking. No debris in the area or upon walk up. My arrival was just before noon and there was a line. Any bourbon hunter knows what this means. It's Monday truck day and some hard to find bottles are ready to be pillaged. I learned it was STAGG Jr. today which is rare. The store was clean and organized. All of the new stock was on shelves. The line was orderly and when opened precisely at 12 PM customers made their way to a box of 12 STAGG Jr. I got the next to last one. Price retail is just under $60. However secondary market hundreds. This was a great day for an elusive bourbon. Checkout was socially distanced with the staff protected by plexiglass. No issues with my gift card transaction. The clerk was friendly and knowledgeable. Another staff opened the door for my exit. This will not be a regular store with distance from my home. However if they have certain stock I cannot find elsewhere I have no issues visiting them again. I created a collection of area ABC stores that users may find helpful.

The Oceanview shopping center sign is easy to locate and the main entrance is by the sign. Parking is plentiful and the lot clean. The store is pretty small and it's in an older strip. However, it's clean with plenty of natural light. I think most customers can find what they need with a variety of spirits offered. The bourbon area was good size and fully stocked with the truck delivery arriving that morning. I asked the manager Charity about a few hard to find bourbons which they did not have. Since I had the time she did tell me that bourbon was her specialty and pointed out several of her favorites. Her knowledge was great! I left empty handed which does not occur often. However, I liked the store and area. Although it's about 20 minutes from my house I probably will return with excellent customer service.

Find them in the Birdneck Shoppes in between Laskin & Virginia Beach Boulevard. The store is one of two anchors and signage is exceptionally good on the building. This Virginia ABC has a fresh new look and is inviting to customers. Parking is nearby and the lot has been clean. The interior although clean, bright and extremely organized with displays is a letdown on size. The bourbon area particularly has less shelf space than others. However still a strong inventory of favorites. They also have a refrigerator offering cold alcoholic items such as Jack Daniels Honey. What has elevated the store is their fabulous customer service from staff and female manager. Twice the manager has went above and beyond to assist me with harder to find allocated bottles. Although this is a store that I could easily drive to from my home it's not one that I will frequent with nearby Hilltop being superior on bourbon inventory. That should take nothing away from one of the newest and cleanest stores in Virginia Beach.

However the area is sketch. I visited them during the day and would not do so after dark. The lot is huge and overall pretty clean with debris on the peripheral area. Signage is good on the building which can be seen from the road. I was greeted once I entered the store and asked if I was looking for something. This was super and I did get help locating a Knob Creek 12 year bottle of bourbon, The store is spread out and clean. A lot of bare shelves was odd. The bourbon section was nice size but missing items. That's also odd when they got their truck same day. The store is split between the liquor store and a regional ABC office. I'm not exactly sure what they do as HQ is in Richmond. Checkout was smooth on my card and a touch less transaction. The staff had mask and cleaned the area before I was served. Not a store I would most likely return to. I just did not feel comfortable with the surrounding area.

My visit was scheduled around a phone call around 10 AM to locate a gift for a friend. A nice staff person named Stacey picked up when the store was closed. I told her I what I was looking for and she said they had a truck with a few rare brands. However, she did not want to get my hopes up on an extremely rare delivery of Old Fitzgerald. I arrived at the store off Cedar Rd. thats in a strip off the beaten path. Signage is not good unless your directly in front. Parking was excellent and the lot clear of debris. Upon arrival I was concerned with the small line that had formed at 11 30 AM. I waited and found out I was number four for three bottles of Old Fitzgerald bourbon. I decided to hang in there for other rare bourbon possibilities on the truck. When the store opened Rose held the door open for around 6 customers. I looked over their stock which was very good. The staff was very helpful and I explained that I was looking for a rare bourbon for a birthday present. I waited for anything to be put on the shelf from the truck. After around 30 minutes one of the staff told me the Old Fitzgerald was available as the third person did not want to purchase at the price point. Talk about lucky! The checkout was very smooth using a credit card. The staff was friendly and excited for my big score. I would recommend store 069. This is my first 5 star review of a Virginia ABC Store. I cannot be a regular with its distance but Chesapeake friends please visit them.
