After coming home I realized what happened I was so upset that an important part of my smile that hold a cultural significance is completely wiped. The doctor insists that this is not an intentional lightening of my gum although they clearly said to me that they've "removed some hyperpigmentation" but also they never mentioned in my consultation that this was a possibility nor was it indicated in the consent form. I consulted with a different periodontist after the fact and after reviewing my consent form, that makes no mention of lighter gum as an outcome of a crown lengthening, they suspect that this may have been done, because to some, a lighter gum is "aesthetically preferred". Gum lightening maybe the "in thing" to do right now but I absolutely didn't consent to it. In fact I hate my results so much that I wish I never altered my original smile. I recommend anyone who wouldn't want alterations to their smile on a whim of a doctor to avoid this place.

He left the gum part white instead of the natural pink or something reassembling our natural gums. He then said in a text message his secretary sent my dad that only the bottom part of the gums would be white and he left all of it white not just the bottom part. My dad has gone to his office multiple times waited up to 4 hours to be seen because he tries to avoid him not only that once my dad told him he would look for legal help he slammed his hands on my dads chair and told him not to be threatening him my dad has everything recorded on audio. The staff is always different girls he also deleted the text messages he sent my dad but luckily he took screen shots of it. This is not a good place to go to not only does he do a terrible job but my dad is in great discomfort and he is old of age this can cause serious health complications and the Dr is doing nothing to help him it is embarrassing and low quality I have never in my life seen any one with white gums. Here I will leave some pictures & I will be putting in a complaint with the Dental board because not only is his treatments terrible theres complaints of his bad behavior with other clients on google as well. This is absurd he should be embarrassed to have people smiling with terrible dental work your smile is the most important feature and this work is just awful.

Long story short, I had a bad dental experience that forced me into two root canals trying to fix…read moreit. My endodontist (Dr. Kavita Doddamane, DMD) referred me to Dr. Chang. That was 10 years ago. Today, I barely remember that extraction, but I do remember that I was never in any pain, the implant procedure was easy and I have never had any problems with that tooth. A few years later our daughter had issues with her adult teeth coming in while wearing braces. I took her to Dr. Chang for advice. He gave us a few options and left it up to us to decide. We decided to wait, the tooth came in, and we didn't need the procedure. I appreciated that there was no pressure. Recently, one of my crowns cracked. Exposure caused the tooth to fracture and it became so painful that I was advised to have it extracted. Needless to say, I called Dr. Chang. Now that I'm re-living this experience, it makes it easier for me to write this review. If you're anything like me, your on the edge of your seat, worried about the process, the cost and the recovery. I hope my review helps you make a decision about Dr. Chang. Dr. Chang agreed that the tooth needed to be extracted AND he remembered me from 10 years ago! Dr. Chang really is knowledgeable, smart, and kind. He will evaluate you and offer options, with no pressure. Lindy sat with me and went over my dental benefits, patient consent forms, answered all my questions, and scheduled my surgery. She was so kind and helpful, even when I called back five times with more questions. I was scheduled in mid-January 2021 for surgery. Once I was sedated, I felt like I counted to ten and woke up. The surgery was that quick. Dr. Chang removed a large molar tooth and did a bone graph. Recovery for me was two days on pain meds/ Tylenol, ate soft food for three days, and then I was fine. My third appointment was in February to remove the stitches. A great big thank you to Kylie, who was very careful and patient in removing those stitches. My fourth appointment was in April, a scan to check the bone graph. Mid-May will be my fifth appointment, surgery for the titanium implant. This is where I am now in this process. The sixth appointment will be a follow-up to ensure that the implant is healing correctly. Then I will wait three months. This allows the implant post to remain firmly anchored in place, as the bone fuses to it over time. Essentially, a titanium implant mimics the function of a natural tooth root. My seventh appointment will be the final step towards getting a tooth. As you can see getting an implant takes time. I started in January and it will be August by the time I'm done. You can trust Dr. Chang and his trained clinicians to get you through this, procrastination isn't worth it. The only thing I can offer outside his office is peace of mind. I trust Dr. Chang and that's why I wouldn't go anywhere else.
