I went there because of having a couple of various dentist mention a couple of different things relating to my mouth and obviously that can be confusing and I just wanted to find out and know, what is the appropriate treatment, so I might be able to make the appropriate decision(s) on what I can do at that time or down the road. I called Natural Dentistry of North Texas initially and the very customer service oriented person that answered the phone...I don't know, if I should put a name(s) on here. But they know who they are :), as well as the other staff, I came upon who were very kind and professional) and I would think, I had some extra rambling in me explaining my concerns and I do appreciate their patience in listening.(Going back initially to what I was mentioning before). I made an appointment and was able to come into the Office the same day. Once I walked in, it was a Good Relaxed Feeling..So, after talking with. They know who they are :) initially about the concerns and Doc. Olsen came in..He has this: ( Relaxed Presence :) and explained their thoughts and had me take some dental x-rays..The person taking the x-rays. They know who they are. (They were down to earth as well)...So, when those x-rays...etc. .were done and Doc..Came back in and went over some things. I have a better understanding of my Treatment Options and for me, Customer Service, Professionalism, Caringness,to the Patient or Customer Needs and a Game Plan to help Maintain or get to that Best Optimal Dental Health is what I look for and I think, I might have found it in Natural Dentistry of North Texas. So, now, I have a Treatment Game Plan and will update my experience on this Customer Service and Caring Dental Facility. _____________________________________________________________ Update: July 31 Went in for a Cleaning and all I have to say is...Please try Natural Dentistry of North Texas. Again, I am not sure, if its Ok, to put a name on the comments..So, I will just say...(The Person that Cleaned my Teeth...They know who they are :) I looked at my teeth several more times when I got home: : ) and a person can tell, they know what they are during) Thank You. Try this office out and see if you will be a Believer in Doc Olsen and the Natural Dentistry Office of North Texas in Mesquite. I will relate this again also, I hope, I have found the Dental Office that will be my Dental Home present and in the future.

I said great and made an appointment for a cleaning the next day. I came in at the appointed time and filled out the normal information. They did not ask for a credit card which confirmed to me that the insurance coverage was confirmed again by them. The dental hygenist did an admirable and professional job. As I was leaving the receptionist declared that there would be an $80 charge. I said, no I was told my cleaning was covered by insurance as I was told yesterday. The receptionist seemed uncomfortable and too quickly said let me get the office manager. I retold my story and the office manager said well this was a different cleaning. I replied I sat in the chair for 45 minutes and no one came in to say, oh, by the way, you need a more extensive cleaning and that will be $80 in addition to the "insurance". Do you agree to this upcharge? That simply did not happen. They concluded this guy is elderly so we will intimidate him. I was never given the option to decline, ask what was different between cleaning A, B, or other, etc. it was a classic bait and switch. I am not so easily kowtowed and defrauded. I stated I will not pay for something I did not agree to or was even advised of the possibility of an additional charge. The office manager said she would send my account to collection. Fine, this is a malicious, false, and, at a minimum a contested matter. If a collection agency is not properly advised that the account was immediately contested under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we enter new grounds for a court to consider. BBB, State Dental licensing complaint, the number of contact points are numerous when you try to defraud and intimidate the elderly.

I said no you can cancel that. If you're going to charge me to reserve my appointment I can only imagine you're going to look for any little thing and tell me "I need it" to charge or bill more. I've never heard or seen any dental office do this to their patients.

Please read before choosing this dental office…read more Before deciding to visit this office, I strongly encourage you to read all the negative reviews. There's a consistent pattern: patients receive an estimate, proceed with treatment, and then get hit with a surprise bill for significantly more than expected. Most people don't fight it--because honestly, who has the time to go back and forth with a dental office and insurance company? This office clearly counts on that, and whether through negligence or intentional misrepresentation, they take advantage of it. The same thing happened to me. I agreed to a procedure based on their estimate and paid what I was told was my portion. Months later, I received a surprise bill for hundreds more, already marked as 90 days past due. After checking with my insurance, it was clear that the policy hadn't changed. Which means the office either failed to properly verify coverage or knowingly gave me a misleading estimate. Either way--it was negligence, deception, or both. If you still decide to go here, triple-check every detail they give you and confirm it directly with your insurance. Get everything in writing. And if you've already had a similar experience--please report it to the Texas state dental board. That's the only way offices like this get investigated. It's frustrating and time-consuming, but unless we speak up, these kinds of bad practices continue unchecked. We all deserve better.

After I expressed my frustration with finding a dentist who will do a great job, but not over-treat, Dr. Williamson was recommended to me by two friends who are both retired dentists, one of whom served the presidential fleet including the pilots and crews of Air Force One in the 89th airlift wing during the Johnson and Bush administrations. My first visit went great. I told my wife the the staff were welcoming and some attend a church like our own. The office has invested heavily in technology, and exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere. Kelly did a fantastic job doing my x-rays, pictures and initial health history. I have set up our entire family with their office. They are out-of-network, so my insurance will not pay as much for many procedures, but for the most common preventative care, it still covers 80 to 100% of the cost. In the end, I think our costs are going to be about the same, without the shenanigans of the insurance company's approval. I'm not the cheapest in my own industry, preferring to provide greater value, and my impression is that Dr. Williamson's office is the same.

They accepted our insurance but we were not covered as well as if we had gone to an in network care provider. They informed me that if would cost more as I was in the chair getting my teeth cleaned as well as my FOUR children were with various hygienists doing the same. We only got routine cleanings, four kids with fluoride, and two sealants in my kids for the low cost of over $1,500.00. Seriously expensive! Then to top it off their estimates were way off base and we ended up owing them almost $800. They also sent me and my daughter home with quotes of us each having four cavities needing to be filled. At the tune of nearly $300 a piece. Needless to say we immediately switched to an in network provider and I am still paying Dr. Williamson's office what I owe them. My daughter and I went and had our cavities filled elsewhere. We each only had two! And his charge was $160 per cavity and that included the extra cost of laughing gas so we could be more relaxed. He even felt bad when I had explained to him what happened with our previous dentist and the amount of money we owed that he took our X-rays for free before filling our cavities. I don't appreciate being price gouged and left in the dark about our insurance not being in network. While the staff is nice, so is the staff at every other office I have ever been to. For reference we also moved from the Vail Valley in Colorado (a very expensive place to live) and I never sent this much on our dental care there. I thought people should know what they are getting into. The cost is so high. If you enjoy throwing money away on dental care that would cost less anywhere else for the same treatments then go ahead: )
