Rooms were very clean. Nicol, head of housekeeping, gave her girls all the credit when I complimented the room. When I asked her if she was housekeeping, she said yes, not knowing whether my comment was going to be positive or negative. She was prepared to take the negative, but when I gave her a positive she gave the credit to her girls. Way to go Nicol read more

Ever since Wayfinder bought Creekside it has gone downhill. I have tried to call them several times over the past week to change a reservation and they put me on hold for over a half hour. I finally hung up. The employees used to be far more accommodating when it was Creekside. .Now they don't even answer the phone. I'm staying there but I do not like the direction the hotel is going in. read more

Interesting property with comfortable accommodations. Got a room with a balcony and was bigger than I expected. Few dings: weird hvac setup - you can set the temp to low but wind up breaking out in a sweat; old tv with weird settings that you can't seem to change; slow WiFi (had to use cellular the entire time); average breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. read more

Everything about this place was great! Staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Room was clean and inviting The overall property was peaceful and the natural creek running thru the property was the tip of the iceberg! Definitely request a room with a view. read more

This is a beautiful hotel and the service is amazing. Specifically Raven at the front desk. She found my reservation and corrected all my mistakes. Thanks Raven! I'm glad breakfast is being offered again!! Don't forget to visit the bakery next door. It won't disappoint either. Schat's Bakkery is the best! read more

Absolutely Disgusting, we decided to go out and get the free breakfast they severed. all of it looked really good except i saw ants climbing all over the eggs and all over the countertop next to it. I would not recommend eating here unless try at your own risk!!! But the rooms are good! read more

Wayfinder Bishop - Hotels Near Me - Bishop, California

The outside of the hotel is beautiful especially with the creek and pool area and the rooms are clean. After spending $300 for a room it was very disappointing to find one of the fire pits not working. In the evening there were not enough pool towels available. The food for the morning breakfast is gross!!! The only thing edible is the waffle that you make yourself. The eggs were gross, the country gravy is way to runny, the "cooked" potatoes were not fully cooked they were still hard and a muffin wasn't completely cooked all the way through. The outside of the hotel is beautiful especially with the creek and pool area. I'm giving 3 stars for the clean room and the ambiance out the creek/pool area. read more

I got flea bites here. Disgusting place. Incredibly expensive. The parking lot is full of LA Water and Power trucks. Your tax dollars at work. Also hairball, spiders, dandruff or skin flakes all along the walls. Over $270 a night. read more

This is a lovely hotel! We were pleasantly surprised by the large rooms and the updated decor. First rate! Very clean too. We also enjoyed the wine bar area by the big wood burning fireplace. Very comfy! read more

Spent the extra money on this hotel because of the amenities. Mind you they were all Broken. The sauna and the fire pit. The pool was advertised as heated, not true. There is no restaurant. Mediocre continental breakfast and a wine bar that the bartender left when i tried to go and said she was going to the store in new year's eve. The other roadside motels in the area would have been fine. The phone lines were also down and wifi barely worked . Benchmark isn't up to par as other cooperate chains . read more

Twice now, I have made a reservation and asked specifically for a handicap accessible room because it is NEEDED, and twice now I have got to the hotel and they claim there is not one available. I WILL NOT STAY here again! read more

My wife and I visit the Sierras often and had always stayed at the Creekside Inn now called Wayfinder. The last two visits was with Wayfinder, but no longer. I went online to book a room for mid October and noticed they changed the cancellation policy. Creekside Inn allowed you to cancel 48 hours prior to arrival with no charge. Wayfinder replaced that policy with a cleverly worded policy which is easily overlooked. The new policy gives you 24 hours from the day the reservation is made to cancel. Anything after 24 hours you pay. We booked a room at Best Western down the road. read more

Loved this hotel when it was Creekside Inn. And the current owners have kept that cozy feeling. A very welcoming hotel, staff are wonderful. Breakfast buffet is quite good. Nice views of the mountains from some rooms and the creek that runs by from other rooms. Very pleasant and serene place to stay. Best place to stay in Bishop! Oh and it is next door to Schat's Bakery so it's a perfect location. read more

This is the rudest manager I've ever met in my hotels that I've been visiting. I stay at some of the best hotels this lady that check me in at this place.Gwen Anderson and Lisa Codey were the rudest people I ever met asked where I could file a complaint. They said go away. Ask for the corporate office number. They said no I have to go to the Internet to find out. that it's owned by dovetail corporation New York and they just recently bought it and remodeled it. They definitely need new managers. I would never stay here again. I have made a complaint to the corporate office and if they care about people they will call me or email me back and let me file my complaint ridiculous to have a manager in a place like this. It shows no good with people. read more

Love this place, when it was Creekside Inn. It has been sold and the new name is Wayfinder, it is not a fitting name for the property and location. It must have been named by someone who never visited the property and the surrounding area. Of course, the nightly stay has increased, and I will never be staying there again. read more

This is a nice hotel. It's clean, quiet, the beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful. When we had trouble with the A/C they fixed it right away. The only disappointment was the breakfast. It had to be one of the worst we've had. Everything was barely warm. The "scrambled eggs" were clumps of cooked egg whites mixed with clumps of cheese. No flavor at all. Just weird. The potatoes were not completely cooked. No fresh fruit. We tried a blueberry loaf and it was burnt on the edges. The coffee was watery. It was just not good. The next morning we skipped the breakfast altogether. Other than that, it was a nice stay. read more

Beautiful hotel and fairly quiet. Our room on the 2nd floor had a balcony and it looked out toward the mountains. The creekside area had several firepits with many chairs for guests to enjoy. The king room was spacious and clean. Overall a great experience with such a friendly staff. read more

We have stayed at this hotel for many years and have always requested a creek side room location without a problem. Under this new management, we made our same reservation with four months notice and we were not given our request upon arrival. The clerk had some lame excuse that we needed to call one week prior to coming. (Even though the clerk said the creek side rooms were filled over one week ago.) We were never told we needed to confirm our request that we had originally given. We were furious the way this was handled and it was a terrible way to end a great vacation. We do not recommend staying at the Wayfinder if you care about your room placement or a helpful staff. 9/22/2024 read more

The room was cozy and so aesthetically pleasing. The grounds looked very nice. I wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of everything. read more

Have been staying at Wayfinder (formerly Creeekside Inn) to fish the Eastern Sierras for a couple years now. The rooms are great and feels like home for the weekend. We chose to stay here instead of air bnb's in Mammoth because of the consistency and comfort. They now have a built in water fixture in the hall to fill up water bottles for the days activities and the filter has always been good. Bags of ice is also available and is a nice touch. The main reason we chose to stay here is for the breakfasts. Coffee, scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, oatmeal, cereal, variety of muffins and breads, fruit, and the cream of the crop is the Golden Malted Waffles! I'm taking off one star because the prices have creeped up since becoming Wayfinder, all the awesome art pieces are gone with visible anchors showing on the walls, and I haven't been in a room with consistent WiFi. The WiFi is ok for social media, and browsers, but is worthless for video of any kind. I always ask the front desk for the TV remote so I can switch inputs. I try and bring my FireTV stick, but in the last half dozen stays the WiFi is so weak that nothing plays consistently. When I have asked the front desk about the poor WiFi a lady checked her phone and told me it works here, sorry about that. WiFi is included in their daily hotel fee, so I'd say that's an unacceptable response. I've been in rooms at the front (112) of the hotel and the very back (143) with the same results. The TV quality is also hit and miss. The TV in my last room (143) had multiple diffusers come off inside causing large bright areas on the TV. Also if you do watch the TV, be ready to be transported to 1990 with the basic low quality cable and tons of commercials. At the end of the day I will be coming back often but wish they could tighten up a few things to make it worth spending about $500 a weekend. read more

I have been staying at the Creekside Inn for years - now the Wayfinder. Still the same great hotel. Ambiance, rooms, great breakfast and beauty of the creek haven't changed. Best hotel in Bishop if you can afford it. Name is a miss, doesn't have near the appeal and charm of "Creekside Inn." read more

The room was clean and comfortable. The decor was very dark, which made the room seem like a cave. The lighting was also dim, no way you could read if you wanted to without book light. The breakfast was good. Coffee was weak. When we checked out we were changed an additional $20, when I asked at checkout why the add on, they said it was for the upkeep of the grounds around the hotel. They said it was on the website, I must of missed it. It is beautiful, and the creek and plants all around are really beautiful, and it's very peaceful. I guess this is a mixed review, and maybe I'm too picky. We enjoyed the BBQ place across the street, and of course Schat's Bakery next door. And yes, I'd probably stay there again. read more

We had a horrible stay. Our room spelt like feces upon arrival. Maintenance came up and offered to spray toxic room spray. He said it was the only thing they could do for us. We went to the pool, which was full of bugs, bathroom door didn't work so you couldn't use it. Then my daughter tried to go to the room to use the restroom, and we were locked out. 2 trips to get a new key at the front desk, and we were still locked out. I was asked to wait while they "figured it out". Meanwhile my 3 daughters are at the pool. Finally the manager came back (after 45 minutes) telling me she had to climb through the window to get in our room and unlock the door. Then she moved us rooms (which they could have done when the room spelled awful). Didn't offer a bell cart or to help. That was all that was done. Don't stay here. Bad customer service from the front desk and manager. The Maintenance employee and bartender were extremely nice though. read more

This place was great when it was the Creekside Inn. The new owners who bought it over a year ago haven't done mush with the place other then to look for ways to make more money. They've added a beer with high prices. Added a section for souvenirs. Same high prices. Worse, checking time used to be 4pm. Now if you want to check in between 12 PM and 2 PM it's over $50. You want to check in between PM and 4 PM its $25. You want a late checkout the next morning? Over $50. They don't even give you complimentary body wash in the rooms. Such a shame. I stayed at this place every September for over 12 years. Never again!! read more

It's like the movie Deliverance. Did these people who call themselves the hotel staff...hotel managers... do these caricatures really get paid to work here? As repulsive of an experience these odd employees behind the front desk bring to a guest's vacation experience, once you let enough time pass from having paid to be treated so hideously, you gain perspective and become just in awe of them. Saturday Night Live could use them as a baseline for outrageously sickening humor. They truly lack the ability to recognize how ridiculous the message their verbal communication brings to the experience. If I missed the outlier who works there that doesn't fit this description, well, I suppose they know who they are as they clearly wouldn't fit in. God bless them. We watched them call the police... or sheriff as it maybe in such towns, in an instance when the manager lacked the threshold for an uncomfortable confrontation when a guest communicated calmly and appropriately, to the manager how uncomfortable it was to watch how they treated another guest, not even themselves. It was an inappropriate response. Her response was, " I don't like the way you are speaking to me and you are being kicked off our property now. I am calling the police." So it's your job as a guest to meet the employees needs to look out for this employee's very low tolerance for feedback, and if you don't ... what happened to these guests I guess could happen to you too. Clearly nobody there attended the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, or any other such entity to become educated on how to behave behind a hotel front desk. Doubtful any of them would even recognize that an education of such even exists. Not sure how else to explain them, but as a hotel guest, you probably have never met people like these before. read more
