DISGUSTING! If I could give zero stars I would.  I read reviews before I booked. I expected an older motel and reviews made me think it was old, but quaint and clean. It was NOT clean. At arrival the lobby door was locked so we had to check in behind the desk. I almost walked out at that moment. There were candy wrappers on the floor and it smelled like cat pee. But I was trying to be positive.  When we walked in the room, there were crumbs on the floor all around the foot of the bed, hair and black spots on the blanket, and ants in the bathroom.  The front desk person was leaving and we let her know that the room wasn't clean and she said she would send housekeeping.  There was no housekeeping so she basically lied to our face. I had some cleaner and paper towels in my car cleaned up the ants in the bathroom floor and came up with a bunch of hair. There was a large clump of hair in the shower. The windows didn't lock,  the microwave was disgusting.  I checked other hotels and there were no vacancies so we had to make the best of it. We pulled back the covers to the bed and there was a dirty piece of tape stuck to the flat sheet. We went to Big 5 and bought blankets to sleep on. I felt so dirty and uncomfortable.  Luckily I had brought my own pillow. Parking is tight and to exit we had to back into traffic. With the roof being worked on it was extremely tight. The best part of our stay was leaving.

Don't judge a book by it's cover! This place is very clean and quaint. Will come again

Dog friendly, tattoo wild at heart friendly. Checked us in late passed midnight. Room was clean and it appeared freshly remodeled. Came with microwave mini frig and mini coffee maker. Manager received us with a big smile and he appeared to be happy to take us in. We got a big clean bed with lots of hot water. Lots of big white fluffy towels for my red bloody hair. Such a shame I had to wash my hair and I left those towels looking like they were dragged all over the civil war battle field. LOL No carpet only synthetic wooden floors. That alone was an extra perk. Room service is professional! I am a fan so if you are flying by stop in and check it out.

Arrived at this hotel with high expectations on 12/29/19. Upon arrival, room was not ready at check in time. Came back 45 minutes later and was checked in to room next to front office. Was charged over $300 even though reservation was for ~$250. After 2 hours of incredibly loud noise by the hotel staff, blatant drug use and dealing next door, to the point of causing concern for safety, we had to leave the hotel. The staff was loud and abusive. Was not offered any refund even though we didn't stay even 1 night. Owner was rude and would not offer remedy. Had to find last minute accommodations elsewhere. Still haven't received response or refund. Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for fraud and failure to deliver services on 12/31. Stay very far away! This place may have been nice once upon a time, but the owners have turned it into a fleabag slum and will try to take you for every penny they can! Will update this review if hotel provides remedy.

    Grimy bathroom floor

Looked great on booking.com, and I liked the idea that we could stay away from the main drag. However, it was pretty bad. I specifically asked for a no pet no smoking room due to terrible allergies and asthma but I could hardly breathe in the room from the chemical smell. When notified, the manager immediately brought a high powered fan and ventilated the room for us. It was about 80% better after that. I asked what kind of cleaner it was and he said it was essential oils sprayed around the room--an idea of the owner. The bed was clean. Nothing else was...please see the photos. In addition, there was only one bulb in the ceiling fan, no tissues, grimy nightstands, a non-functioning smoke alarm and a hole in the door big enough for mice. Thankfully I did not open any drawers like other reviewers because I really would have hated to find any droppings. The flies in the room were bad enough! Diane left an envelope for gratuity, but the room didn't meet our expectations. Positives: The heater worked well on a chilly night, the TV was fine and the bed was comfortable. Recommend: Inspect the room before accepting.

Took a gamble after staying in chain hotels (yuck) during our vacation from Bay Area to Texas. Last night in lodging and what a nice surprise. It's an old motor inn, with real keys. A park-like area for gathering (bring your buddies!) to watch sunsets, play ping pong, clean your fresh catch, sit around a fire pit and tell tales. Dog-friendly. Inside our 2 queen bed room was a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, flat screen TV, free WiFi, and coffee maker with supplies. We pushed the beds together and slept in large comfort with the pooch. The shower was upgraded and very nice. The road, W Line St, is a busy road in the morning, but not at night, so no noise kept us up. The lady behind the desk suggested Pizza Factory (yum) and Von's grocery and our take out was set. She was very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely stay here when coming to see fall colors in this little hamlet and hope to bring friends to share it with.

It's the perfect mix of work trip during the day and family getaway after hours. The property itself is beautiful. The lobby has a warm upscale mountain lodge feel with high ceilings, rich wood finishes, cozy lighting, and a really inviting atmosphere the moment you walk in. It feels much nicer and more thoughtfully designed than your typical hotel stop in a small mountain town. The courtyard with the pond and fire pit is such a nice touch and makes the whole place feel peaceful and relaxing after a long day. The breakfast/lounge area was clean and well kept, and overall the property feels family-friendly, comfortable, and well maintained. Location is also excellent if you're using Bishop as a base for Mammoth, the Eastern Sierra, or just exploring with the family after work. At this point, Wayfinder Bishop has become more than just a hotel for us -- it's part of our annual spring break memories. Would definitely stay here again.

Gave us all the tips we needed for our stay. The lady working the bar/food was also so amazing, can't remember her name but she was on top of how many people were in the lounge area. Overall would definitely stay here again, in fact we are planning on making this our go to for the area. Well worth the money.

I'm so glad we stayed here. We were two adults and one child and stayed in a private family room with one bed and a bunk bed. The bunk beds have little curtains which our kiddo liked. I didn't totally trust that the barrier on the top bunk was high enough to prevent my kiddo from falling off so I had her sleep in the bottom bunk. The room was small but we knew that and it was enough space for three of us. We loved how it was decorated down to the individually wrapped towels in the bathroom. No TV which I also liked and forced us to hang out together! We were on the second floor and there were comfy rocking chairs on the deck where we sat at night and enjoyed our wine. We were able to borrow the wine glasses in the community kitchen which was very convenient. We also spent time on the couches outside the kitchen and the Adirondack chairs in the yard - just a lot of open places to hang out which was nice. The airstream store is super cute. We didn't get a chance to try their coffee but did buy one of the treats and also some gifts from the gift shop and played yard games in front. Schatt's bakery is next door which was a nice bonus and we grabbed breakfast there in the morning and brought it back. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Walking distance to the bowling alley where we went for a couple hours to play and also get a delicious steak (yes from the bowling alley cafe - no joke!). We'd definitely stay here again when passing through Bishop.

Front desk attendant was friendly and welcoming, helpful with orientation and greeted everyone good morning walking in for breakfast. At check-in, we had the option to choose between an upstairs or downstairs room. Downstairs made it convenient for loading boards, right next to FREE parking spaces. Staff was accommodating to provide additional amenities, such as extra towels and lotion. House keeping only upon request the night before. Complimentary breakfast starting at 6:00 AM. The breakfast area was packed with snowboarders on the dot, added to the vibe. Hot omelette and sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. Great to fuel up for the mountain. Lady was quick to refill hot foods. There's also refreshing citrus water to quench your thirst in the lobby. That said, few things to be aware of. While the main room itself was clean, the shower area showed some wear, especially around the caulking where you could see mold. The showerhead also sits low - if you're over 6 feet tall, it's going to feel tight. The biggest downside is the thin walls & floors. You don't hear much street noise, but you absolutely hear people... every footstep, every toilet flush, rolling suitcases, and late-night arrivals. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Can hear people coming in around 11 PM pretty clearly. 3.5 stars: Great if you value convenience, affordability, and friendly staff. Place delivers the basics, but noticeable drawbacks of worn shower & thin walls keep it from being a solid 4 or 5 star stay.
