Years ago, this motel was run by a older couple who retired from the Los Angeles area. They took a great deal of pride in providing a well-maintained, cozy place for their customers. I assure you there's nothing well maintained or cozy about this motel at this time. The motel has been painted a festive green, blue, and purple. There is no indication of any recent updates or renovations in the courtyard or outside areas that would attract you to this location, except they have a nice fish cleaning area to the rear of the building. Years ago, they did a halfhearted renovation of the rooms with tile, some newer furniture and wood flooring. The tile is cracked, the floors slope, and are squeaky and there's nothing inviting about staying in these rooms. I will note the beds were clean and comfortable. My stay was based on a short business trip overnight. The people in the room next to us and I might mention the walls are paper, thin, were loud and obnoxious. We had to listen to them argue with other people at their door and the screaming of I'll call the police on you, I'll call the police on you. I think the other frustration is that the rates for this motel is equal to many of the newer facilities in the city of Bishop. If this were a $39 room and the only thing you can afford maybe you would stay there but other than that, look elsewhere. read more

Three stars for bed comfort. Zero for window fit, locking, road noise. Entering 117, right on the main drag, the door seal is in disrepair. Everything is old. The floor sags as you enter. Nice having kitchen to warm up food. Fridge and freeze work well as does stove. Don't expect anything newer than old iks for pots and kitchen ware. Tv worked well. Bathroom sink small area for cosmetics. Tub was newer and shower worked great. Soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers are cheap. The conditioner dispenser didn't work. The soap dispenser came off in my hand while showering. This place needs a total overhaul with new windows, doors etc. Popcorn in lobby was a nice touch. But hey, it's a motel in Bishop. read more

Please reconsider going to this hotel . We have stayed here before and it was good not great but we loved having a kitchen and this place offered that . We booked 3 days. The room 117 was as expected and our expectations were low. We had no maid service day 1 no problem we got fresh towels and were good to go. Day 2 same thing . Day 3 we had service but no washcloths back to the office ,which was closed but she was in the office along with 2 non guests . Both of which were not guests of this motel as I walked in money was being exchanged for what I do not know but I suspect a drug deal. Again I suspect a drug deal no proof but biased on the sleeping bag wrapped around the 1st guy and the excessive amount of bags the appeared to be unhoused. It was an unsettling night for us due to the fact the door and windows were not a secure close and lock situation. I should have left day 1and that on me . DISGUSTING! If I could give zero stars I would.  I read reviews before I booked. I expected an older motel and reviews made me think it was old, but quaint and clean. It was NOT clean. At arrival the lobby door was locked so we had to check in behind the desk. I almost walked out at that moment. There were candy wrappers on the floor and it smelled like cat pee. But I was trying to be positive.  When we walked in the room, there were crumbs on the floor all around the foot of the bed, hair and black spots on the blanket, and ants in the bathroom.  The front desk person was leaving and we let her know that the room wasn't clean and she said she would send housekeeping.  There was no housekeeping so she basically lied to our face. I had some cleaner and paper towels in my car cleaned up the ants in the bathroom floor and came up with a bunch of hair. There was a large clump of hair in the shower. The windows didn't lock,  the microwave was disgusting.  I checked other hotels and there were no vacancies so we had to make the best of it. We pulled back the covers to the bed and there was a dirty piece of tape stuck to the flat sheet. We went to Big 5 and bought blankets to sleep on. I felt so dirty and uncomfortable.  Luckily I had brought my own pillow. Parking is tight and to exit we had to back into traffic. With the roof being worked on it was extremely tight. Dog friendly, tattoo wild at heart friendly. Checked us in late passed midnight. Room was clean and it appeared freshly remodeled. Came with microwave mini frig and mini coffee maker. Manager received us with a big smile and he appeared to be happy to take us in. We got a big clean bed with lots of hot water. Lots of big white fluffy towels for my red bloody hair. Such a shame I had to wash my hair and I left those towels looking like they were dragged all over the civil war battle field. LOL No carpet only synthetic wooden floors. That alone was an extra perk. Room service is professional! I am a fan so if you are flying by stop in and check it out. read more

Arrived at this hotel with high expectations on 12/29/19. Upon arrival, room was not ready at check in time. Came back 45 minutes later and was checked in to room next to front office. Was charged over $300 even though reservation was for ~$250. After 2 hours of incredibly loud noise by the hotel staff, blatant drug use and dealing next door, to the point of causing concern for safety, we had to leave the hotel. The staff was loud and abusive. Was not offered any refund even though we didn't stay even 1 night. Owner was rude and would not offer remedy. Had to find last minute accommodations elsewhere. Still haven't received response or refund. Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for fraud and failure to deliver services on 12/31. Stay very far away! This place may have been nice once upon a time, but the owners have turned it into a fleabag slum and will try to take you for every penny they can! The motel is on the older side and the rooms are small. However, the staff made my grandson and me feel extremely welcome. My grandson, who is an adult, asked Jason the manager if he knew where he could buy a hat, Jason ran home and brought my grandson a new one from his collection. Our room was quiet, and the air conditioning and bed were suburb. Our room had a small refrigerator, microwave, electric oven and coffee pot. actually, we got 2 rooms with 3 queen beds. Looked great on booking.com, and I liked the idea that we could stay away from the main drag. However, it was pretty bad. I specifically asked for a no pet no smoking room due to terrible allergies and asthma but I could hardly breathe in the room from the chemical smell. When notified, the manager immediately brought a high powered fan and ventilated the room for us. It was about 80% better after that. I asked what kind of cleaner it was and he said it was essential oils sprayed around the room--an idea of the owner. The bed was clean. Nothing else was...please see the photos. In addition, there was only one bulb in the ceiling fan, no tissues, grimy nightstands, a non-functioning smoke alarm and a hole in the door big enough for mice. Thankfully I did not open any drawers like other reviewers because I really would have hated to find any droppings. The flies in the room were bad enough! Diane left an envelope for gratuity, but the room didn't meet our expectations. Positives: The heater worked well on a chilly night, the TV was fine and the bed was comfortable. Took a gamble after staying in chain hotels (yuck) during our vacation from Bay Area to Texas. Last night in lodging and what a nice surprise. It's an old motor inn, with real keys. A park-like area for gathering (bring your buddies!) to watch sunsets, play ping pong, clean your fresh catch, sit around a fire pit and tell tales. Dog-friendly. Inside our 2 queen bed room was a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, flat screen TV, free WiFi, and coffee maker with supplies. We pushed the beds together and slept in large comfort with the pooch. The shower was upgraded and very nice. The road, W Line St, is a busy road in the morning, but not at night, so no noise kept us up. The lady behind the desk suggested Pizza Factory (yum) and Von's grocery and our take out was set. She was very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely stay here when coming to see fall colors in this little hamlet and hope to bring friends to share it with. read more

This is our favorite place to stay in Bishop. Been staying here since the 80s. Now new management and it's even better. Consider this a sportspersons place. Very near fishing, running, hiking, climbing. Going through renovations now. Has a grassy area with large 'Trees' where you can BBQ, sit, eat at tables, relax. Less than a 10 minute walk to center of town - lots to see if you take an indirect route. Looking forward to our next trip already! read more

I've stayed at Bishop several times this year, and a few times in previous years. What keeps me returning is the reasonable prices, clean and comfortable accommodations and friendly staff. They are dog friendly (just let them know - they have dog linens and towels!) and motorcycle friendly. I always feel relaxed and refreshed after staying here -- it's off the main drag and you don't have the whiz and zoom of traffic (though you may have the whistles and footsteps of high schoolers in the field across the street). New owners bought the place earlier in 2016 and they are going through all the rooms and upgrading the bathrooms and other things. I remember thinking that the tile in my room looked so good, that if I lived in Bishop - I'd want that tile setter's number! Clean and comfortable! read more

So not a good stay from the beginning, not going into details. But I was ready to check out and go find another place to stay. The front desk was attentive to my complaints and got the owner on the phone. Elizabeth the owner was kind and listened to my dilemma. She upgraded me into a suite on another property. When we arrived they gave us double the advertised rate, my wife mentioned this and the gal begrudgingly came down from $180 to $97 a night. We took the room but as we walked up to the room, noticed a bunch of people camped out next to our room with a table and ice chest outside next to their door. By 12:00 am I nicely asked that they please tonè it down as noise really carries and I had a wife and son trying to sleep. Looking at stacks of empty beer cans, I just got back angry stares. That was of no effect so I called the office and receive voicemail. I was thinking this was perhaps a one off and thought "oh well" until I read another below that eluded to the same type of issue. I would highly encourage all travelers to stay clear of this place. Or at least check who else is on the premise before booking a room. read more

For the price, you can't beat it! You've got a clean room, good bed, a microwave, a fridge and all the basics you'd need in a motel room. There is nothing fancy about this place and it is just fine for all you road warriors out there. My only complaint was the tiny shower in my room! I mean tiny. This photos on line looked nice, however was far from it. When I got there @ 5:30, the front door was locked with a note saying "be back in 20".. 15 mins After 15 mins, guy rides up on his bike with 6 pack of coke.. the room was 88 plus 12 tax for $101 total. I checked in and got to room, ice bucked was half full of melted ice, so I asked for a bag to put in bucket. There were ants on the bathroom sink, hairdryer wld run for 30 seconds and shut off. Stains on carpet, squeaky bed, electrical outlet broken, no light bulbs in ceiling fan light kit. They have a shady outside area underneath large trees. Patio furniture run down, area was dirty, etc. too bad, it could have been fixed up to be a nice place. Rooms are very small. When I checked out at 7:30, the front door was still locked, so left keys in the key box. On the plus side, the ac and tv worked, and I didn't see any bed bugs! Last minute booking for our fishing trip. As we were headed out, we ended up leaving later then expected and I realized we weren't going to make our check in time, I called them to ask how do we go about late check in arrival. The lady in the office instructed me that our key would be placed to the side and we can retrieve it when we get there. We ended up getting to the hotel around 11pm, the key was where she said it would be, and then she actually waited for us to arrive.. I believe her name was Sarah but don't quote me on that. It was really nice of her to have waited and made sure we got there safe. We got into our room, the only one left was the family sized room, three beds. It was a good size room for myself, my dad and my brother to all share. The only downfall was the bathroom was super tiny.. and mean tiny. I'm glad I'm little enough to maneuver in small spots, however this complaint is from the men I was with. Anyways, room was clean, smoke free, good wifi, and a good price for it being a last minute booking. They even have a fish cleaning station out back. We plan to stay here again the next time we go fishing. It's not on the main road of bishop, it's off to the side.. but it's the main road to get to the lakes which is what we wanted anyways. read more

First let me start by saying there was a MOUSE in our room!!!!!!! My family and I were going to mammoth mountain for my sons birthday. All rooms in mammoth were sold out so I found this town called bishop and noticed it was only about 45 min away. That to us was awesome since we live about 6 hours away. There was about 5 motels with availity that accepted dogs. I went with trees motel due to all of their good reviews. What a big mistake! We got there 1/27 around 9pm we were all tired. I looked around the room noticed the room looked in decent shape for a motel. It has 3 beds one that is in its on room without doors. I then noticed there were these brownish blackish small little droppings. They were on the desk that is there, on the tray with the cups and coffee pot, and one of the pillows!!! I did not know they were mouse droppings since ive never had a mouse before. That nights sleep was good . I got woken up a couple times due to noises outside the walls are thin. Next day on 1/28 after we returned frm mammoth and went to bed I got woken up early 1/29 around 2:30am by a plastic bag we had moving back and forth. It kept going by thispoint everyone was up. We quickly turned on the light and the moving stopped and we heard a squeek and movement along between the bed and the wall (the bag was by the nightstand between the beds). Our assumption was that it went underneath the bed where there is a big wood box. I was so disgusted to know there was a mouse in our room and we been sleeping w a mouse there. I thought of those brown drops I saw and googled mouse droppings. Those were mouse poop droppings!!!!! It was even on the pillow!!!!! I was so grosses out. We could not sleep anymore. We wantes to get the heck our of there. I had to go thru all our luggage each thing one by one then put them in the car to make sure we didnt bring a mouse home. We got out of that room as soon as the sun was starting to come out around 5:45. We had about 3 hours sleep. To make things worse it was my sons birthday that day and with 3 hours sleep it was off to a bad start. We had a 6 hour drive ahead of us too. At 8 when office opened I went in to tell them. She called the manager and just told me oh we will set traps. I got the feeling like they didnt care that we had such a horrible night. I got nothing from them to make it better . They didnt care! I paid $100 a night to sleep 3 hours due to a mouse they had!!!! I will never return here. They could care less. read more

I wasn't even staying at this place, I went there because I was waiting for a friend at the hotel they were staying in. While waiting, I had the pleasure of meeting the many dogs that were staying there, and was greeted by the super friendly and welcoming manager, Sarah. They charge $10 for dogs (no additional charge for more dogs), and have dog beds and heavy duty sheets for the bed if you have a dog that will jump on beds. The location is great; situated on West Line and a very easy walk to town. There is a yard area with BBQ grills and outdoor seating. The rooms are very reasonable, and WiFi worked very well. I'll definitely be staying here the next time I come in the winter (rather than freezing off in a campground). read more

BEWARE!!! Today was supposed to be our 2nd night at this place. Yesterday on our first night, toilet paper which was nearly finished, ran out. Went to office, they were closed. Got up early to go fishing thought they would replace needed toiletries by the time we got back..... Nope! We arrive from fishing ready for a hot shower and rest.... No hot water. We took cold showers packed up and checked out. Complained about it and all Tyler said was "I'm sorry". A credit for today would have been at the very least appropriate. BEWARE!!!! read more

This is a very nice place to spend a night if you are traveling through Bishop. The ONLY negative is that we stayed in the room next to the office, and something was "chirping" three times every 10 seconds and it was annoying. It was outside the room, seemingly coming from a camera or something on the roof near our room. We were a late arrival and the staff had our room nice and warm, clean and comfortable when we got there. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I'm just going to list the bad then finish off with the good. The tub was dirty, it looked like it was never scrubbed once -I'd know because I clean my own house- and there was hair stuck to the walls of the tub. The bed sucked and i Instantly regretted booking the place when I seen the stained sheets. The walls were really thin and I woke up plenty of times to the sounds of other people talking, and opening/closing doors. The heater kept the room warm, water came out of the faucet and the toilet flushed...yay! Spend the extra 50 bucks and book a better place down the street. Trust me it's worth it. read more

The rooms are nothing special. However the price and pet friendliness make-up for the lackluster accommodations. This would have been a 3 star review but I very much appreciated the fact that they didn't charge extra for my two dogs. The Best Western nearby not only wanted to charge me double the rate offered by Trees Motel, but $20 per dog (which I realize is common practice). I found the manager to be a little nosey and abrasive. After a long day of driving, I just want my room key and some privacy. Perhaps I'm a little introverted, but she was in my face each time I left and returned to my room. My wife and I felt like we were being monitored...so we weren't able to make ourselves comfortable. We even had our conversations in whispers feeling like she was outside the room listening in. PROS: 1. Very dog-friendly 2. Affordable 3. Coffee maker 4. Microwave 5. Fridge (small but functional) 6. Overall this is a great place. I showed them the special nightly rate that Google had pulled up, and she honored that price no questions asked, which was wonderful and so kind! In the morning she called around to find me another room (to no avail, unfortunately) since they were booked. So helpful! I didn't end up finding another room and was planning on sleeping in my van, but it was also a freezing rainstorm so I wasn't looking forward to it. I got a phone call several hours later from Chris, one of the new managers, that there was a cancellation and she called me immediately afterward. Apparently she'd been worried about me all day! I'm a strong lady who's used to compromised travel conditions, but I sure did appreciate the concern and thoughtfulness. I'll just dive in: PROS: -Superbly friendly and helpful management. They care about the people who walk in the door, and I watched them treat their cleaning staff with the utmost kindness. -Well-kept grounds. -Lot with some protection from the main street, you can park right in front of your door. -Fast and free wifi. -Cute rooms. -Everything in the rooms works (appliances, plugs, etc.) -Very clean sheets, towels, etc. -Generally very clean rooms -Close walk to downtown. It looks far compared to other places, but it's really only 10 minutes to the main part of Main St. -Desks and chairs to work at in the rooms CONS: -Wifi is not password protected. -It's an old building. There are some smells here and there but they're faint and musty, definitely not strong or moldy. -My window was so sticky in the bathroom I couldn't open or close it on my own, I had to get one of the managers to help me close it. Again, it's an old building. -I felt the need to wear sandals in the shower, no big deal, but didn't give me the most confidence to go barefoot. -It's a little loud outside the rooms (easy to hear folks, the road, if people are playing music in their cars, etc.) read more

I only posted one star because it wouldn't take my review. THIS MOTEL DESERVES ZERO STARS. The room was filthy, the glasses were stuck to the tray, there were bugs and there was mold in the shower. The bed only had a mattress, no box spring; I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car. The bed pillows were flat, $2.00 pillows from Walmart would have been nicer. There wasn't even any Kleenex in the room; I had to blow my nose with toilette tissue. The toilet had a ring around it. I've stayed at a few hotels in Bishop and my buddy mentioned he liked the trees. So here we go...... when in Bishop, if you can save a few bucks on a decent room, it pays because you will pay 12-15 in taxes on your room. Paying more for a decent room is well.....just paying more. Our trees room was 113.00 double occ. Lol.....the pro's were soft, nice towels and bedding. Very nice. BUT...... The shower was not big enough for a man to stand in and the bathroom was due for a makeover 5yrs ago. The foundation of the shower was rotted out. For 113.00.......i was not impressed at all. By Bishop standards, a 90.00 room all in.....at best. I would stay there again at the right price. The motel and the price were not a match. read more
