Booked a room for just one night before heading to Mammoth, so it was a very quick stay. Arrived around 8pm on a Friday night and there wasn't too much parking left. Maybe only 2-3 spots from the main lot. Not sure if there's more parking in the back. Check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Both employees were super friendly and professional. They ask for your car plate number to ensure your car good. The room itself was nothing more than you want from a very basic motel. The bed didn't have bed bugs, the bathroom was clean, shower pressure was nice (although the shower head is a bit low for tall people), the TV worked, the blackout curtains were effective, the electrical panels worked fine. We were only there to sleep one night so we didn't need it to have anything more. Breakfast starts at 6am, which is super convenient since we needed to leave super early for the slopes. Basic complimentary hotel food options, but the lady maintaining it, Maria, was the most adorable, friendly, and lovely person. She was attentive and on it with helping people out. She's so great. Good hotel option around the area if you don't want to pay too much to stay at Wayfinder or Cielo and not go super cheap and stay at a sketch motel/inn.

I would give this place a zero. Our experience was horrible. The grounds were dirty and our room was even worse. The floors were not clean. The toilet seat was stained. The bathtub had a huge stain in it, so gross. There was hair in the tub so I knew it hadn't been clean. We had checked in late and they were sold out for that night. Not how I ever imaged a Best Western.

What a gem! Incredible front desk customer service from Ben! He made a note that I was gluten free due to Celiac. Took out this notebook to assure me breakfast was safe! Did magic and got us a ground floor king and was just a nice guy.

Overflowing pet waste bin and tons of cigarette butts (if a dog ate one of those it could be very bad)

Best Western Bishop From the moment we checked in, it was just a not good experience. My wife booked the room on Expedia. She specifically looked for a pet friendly establishment, this came up in the search results with no caveats. So she booked a suite for us and our pet. Upon check in, she was told since we had a pet she could not have the suite. My wife showed him the reservation on Expedia, and she was rudely told, "That's not the hotel. That's Expedia." My wife looked back at him and pointed out that nowhere said anything about not having a suite with pets. When she said pets, he then asked her rudely, "how many pets do you have? You are only permitted one." Which also was not listed anywhere. We were traveling from PNW back to SoCal. We had her truck and were towing a storage trailer. We were told trailers were not permitted in the parking lot, unless we could fit into a single space. Once we got to the room, we dropped a water bottle, and when I went to clean it up with a towel, it came up black and dirty. Attached are the pictures of the corridor leading to our room, the dog run, which has not been cleaned or pet waste removed from the bin, and the strange clump of mystery hair under the bench, and a video of me wiping the supposedly clean floor. We travel a lot. And we have stayed in a plethora of hotels, but this is a first for us. This room, with Expedia discount, before tax, was approximately $225. This is the type of cleanliness and lack of service you would expect from a Super 8, not a Best Western.

I travel back and forth to So Cal on 395 often, so I try to stay in many places to find finally those couple of right places to stay on my next trip where it is pleasant, especially clean and well kept. I would also say, as good a price as possible. This trip I was almost home on my way back. I just didn't want to travel the mountain roads at night. The snow had been melting since we'd just had a week of warm weather, all after a particularly long cold winter. This night the air chilled sooner than expected...traveling with icy roads at night, isn't my idea of a nice easy night time drive, so I stayed the night. I picked Best Western after asking 2 strangers where they would stay. They were residents. Both persons said The Best Western was cleanest and pleasant. I only have one negative for the room. The privacy curtains would not close in the middle. I had to put the rolling desk chair up against where the curtain comes together to keep from being seen in the room. Also, on the sides of the window, the curtain did not cover the windows to the edge. Anyone passing could clearly see into the room, with full view of the bed pillows and anyone seated there. I purposely went out and looked what I could actually see from walking by my room. So glad I wasn't too tired to notice! Other than that issue, everyone was pleasant and helpful. I did not complain except about the curtains. The room was great, the bed still comfy, wonderfully clean. While I did not eat the generous breakfast provided, it smelled great and was very popular. In the room they provided Wolfgang Puck Coffee. Very nice tasting coffee actually! The Best Western Motel was a bit steep in price, but it was fishing time, rivers overflowing their banks, beautiful green valleys, and more wildflowers than I have seen in many years past! A beautiful time of year. So, I guess the price was warranted especially on a Saturday evening....With the exception of the curtains. It was late for me and I didn't wish to pack back up and change rooms.

King-size bed bedroom. Spacious enough for a small table.

I enjoyed my overall experience here and would recommend staying at this Best Western for anyone who plans to stay 1-2 nights. Not only is the customer service nice, but the location is convenient. The room was spacious, the TV quality and volume was excellent, and the area is quiet. A good spot for someone who just need rest from traveling. There is an outdoor pool and spa that is open to those in the parking lot and not exposed to the public. Safe for families. The pool and spa do need to be cleaned, but was clean enough to go in for the late afternoon. Temperature of the pool was cool, and lots of seating area to tan or rest. There is a spot for BBQ-ing and a small kitchen area on the opposite side where you can clean fish or prep whatever meal you want to put on the grill. That small kitchen is stainless steel and can accommodate those who enjoy fishing or barbecuing. If you are a sensitive sleeper like myself, I recommend booking a room on the top floor. The people upstairs were either heavy steppers or the ceiling is just thin. Also, though there is air conditioning, it is loud even at the lowest setting. It does keep the room cool, and if you choose to dry your bathing suit and towel in the room, you will smell it. As far as breakfast, it is your standard continental breakfast, but more than just muffins and fruit. You get to make waffles and pancakes, toast bread, eat boiled eggs, yogurt, fruits, and cereals. I recommend this for quick breakfast or to feed a large family. It is walking distance from many of what the city of Bishop offers and if you choose not to walk, driving is a quick drive up the street to all eateries.

We shared a loft apartment (~$200 a night after taxes and fees). Very clean and comfortable, loved the in suite kitchen area, dining area, and in suite bathroom. The common area was also useful to get some quick tea / coffee, get filtered water and do some laundry. The atmosphere of the whole property is organized, clean, quiet, and friendly. Highly recommend for folks who are coming to Bishop for outdoor activities and want a relaxing and comfy experience.

I'm so glad we stayed here. We were two adults and one child and stayed in a private family room with one bed and a bunk bed. The bunk beds have little curtains which our kiddo liked. I didn't totally trust that the barrier on the top bunk was high enough to prevent my kiddo from falling off so I had her sleep in the bottom bunk. The room was small but we knew that and it was enough space for three of us. We loved how it was decorated down to the individually wrapped towels in the bathroom. No TV which I also liked and forced us to hang out together! We were on the second floor and there were comfy rocking chairs on the deck where we sat at night and enjoyed our wine. We were able to borrow the wine glasses in the community kitchen which was very convenient. We also spent time on the couches outside the kitchen and the Adirondack chairs in the yard - just a lot of open places to hang out which was nice. The airstream store is super cute. We didn't get a chance to try their coffee but did buy one of the treats and also some gifts from the gift shop and played yard games in front. Schatt's bakery is next door which was a nice bonus and we grabbed breakfast there in the morning and brought it back. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Walking distance to the bowling alley where we went for a couple hours to play and also get a delicious steak (yes from the bowling alley cafe - no joke!). We'd definitely stay here again when passing through Bishop.

I like how spacious the parking lot is. The location is ideal, right in the center of everything. Walking distance from Schat's Bakery & other restaurants, & right next to the park, so it's great for people who have dogs staying with them. I did notice there are a good amount of guests that have pets with them here - so this business is pet friendly! Our room was ready by the time we checked in & was clean. Walls can be a little thin, but we still had a good night's sleep. My favorite part of the stay was the continental breakfast included with our room - sausages, eggs, gravy & biscuits & all the usual options like cereal & fruit & pancakes. The staff were always on site, cleaning tables & refilling food. Such a filling meal, especially for a day of snowboarding ahead. We didn't use the extra amenities but they were nice to have - indoor pool, sauna, exercise room. Overall we would be delighted to come back!

If you expect luxury and being pampered this is not for you. This is rustic charm in an adorable very clean fishing cabin. The bed linens and towels were like brand new. Beds all comfortable! The food in the restaurant was simple but good and there is no where else to go on the mountain for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night. It is in the tree's with water running thru it which my dog loved, Yes they are pet friendly. It is nestled against the mountain, simple and quiet, at least after we left (there were 12 of us). Pros: The entrance is nice. I can tell they upgraded it recently. Looks clean and I can see the effort made to make it nice. They have water and ice in the lobby, which is nice. The fitness room is decent for a motel. Breakfast isn't much but it's filling. It works. It's toast, cereal, bagels, egg whites, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, apples, milk, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and coffee. It's not gourmet but it works. I have toddlers so it was a nice way to bathe them. Plenty of parking. Cons: One of the major disappointments for me is the wifi. It's extremely slow. This is a big major point for me because I have to work on my laptop and when videos aren't loading it's difficult to work. The doors look old and outdated. It just lowers the aesthetic. There are no elevators, which I already knew. I can overlook that though, my main compliant is the WiFi, especially for the price.

I assure you there's nothing well maintained or cozy about this motel at this time. The motel has been painted a festive green, blue, and purple. There is no indication of any recent updates or renovations in the courtyard or outside areas that would attract you to this location, except they have a nice fish cleaning area to the rear of the building. Years ago, they did a halfhearted renovation of the rooms with tile, some newer furniture and wood flooring. The tile is cracked, the floors slope, and are squeaky and there's nothing inviting about staying in these rooms. I will note the beds were clean and comfortable. My stay was based on a short business trip overnight. The people in the room next to us and I might mention the walls are paper, thin, were loud and obnoxious. We had to listen to them argue with other people at their door and the screaming of I'll call the police on you, I'll call the police on you.
