Save your money, you're better off sleeping in your car. Booked this for a quick fishing trip this weekend, you get what you pay for I guess. Be prepared to wear shoes while you're in the room at all times, or your feet will turn black from the dirty floor. Room smells like sweat & BO. WiFi doesn't work, even though they advertise working, free WiFi. The walls, doors, floorboards, are covered in dirt, absolutely disgusting. The room is falling apart, there are chips in the paint and wood all throughout the room. We had to sleep with something stuffed under our door because there was such a large gap, letting in all of the outside smells, sounds, and bugs. I brought my own coffee to make, but they had no filters so I had to use their prepackaged coffee, but when I opened it I saw it was covered in mold. Got my coffee from McDonald's instead. Gum was stuck under the ledge of our headboard as well. We had to sleep with only a sheet because it was the only "blanket" that was somewhat "clean". The main blanket had some mysterious, crusty stains on it. Remote was missing its back, it was covered in tape. Husband felt something on his arm, it was a cockroach. Plus the neighbors are loud, stay up late and talk outside of your window while smoking cigarettes, and let their dogs bark as long as they want. The people who run this place are lucky my husband is so kind, and stopped me from telling them how horrid their establishment really is. Just do yourself a favor, spend the money and get a nice hotel!

Broken box spring from underneath (room 34)

We booked the motel on a holiday weekend with not much availability in the town. Reviews were average, price was reasonable. The first night my wife and I had a horrible night's sleep due to the entire bed frame being broken and collapsing in the middle. See photo for room 34. The next morning I asked for another room because we were staying for 2 nights. The manager said he needed to wait for the cleaning crew and he would let us know by 4 PM. When we returned from our excursion, he gave us a new room. So we moved all of our stuff into another room (plus 2 kids). Since the new room was cold (it was down in the 20s at night) we put the heater on. Within about 5 minutes my 9-year old says "something is burning". He was right near the heater by the window and when I looked, I noticed arcing and sparking and smoke coming out of the outlet that the air conditioning/heating unit was plugged into. Risking getting shocked myself, I immediately unplugged the unit from the outlet. After the smoke dissipated I looked at it. The outlet had melted and was probably minutes from causing a fire in the room and eventually burning the entire hotel down if no one was in the room to notice and take action. See melted outlet plug photo room 21. It took 30 minutes to get the maintenance guy there, who promptly said the room is a fire hazard and said no one can stay there. He didn't even attempt to fix it and started arguing with me when I showed him the shoddy workmanship with the grounding plug, especially since it put my family in danger. Since the entire town was sold out and there was only one room left in the hotel (with only one bed) we were forced to squeeze in there. In the third room, room 20, I noticed the sink coming off the wall in the bathroom, the unfinished wall/tile work, and the missing smoke alarm in the ceiling (isn't that illegal?). I found the smoke alarm under the TV cabinet with the battery removed. See photos for room 20 I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. I wanted my money back. After checking out the next morning, I was told that all I would be receiving as far as a refund was 50% off of one night's stay. So I paid 150 bucks for a bed that was broken and 75 bucks to put my family in danger. What a joke this place is. Stay away!

Visited 5/25/2018 Nice small motel. Very friendly staff. Nice clean small rooms. Comfortable Beds. Nice pool area. It just happened to be Memorial day weekend and The Mule Days Festival. The busiest day of the year also the highest prices for a room. All in all it's nice being my only choice. Would I stay here again? Perhaps but not for this price. To be fair, this is a good 3 1/2 Star Motel. Also plenty of good places to eat near by. Enjoy.

I cannot believe this place has a 3.5 star rating. We checked in, the hotel owner had the office locked up at 2:35 pm when I went to check in. After looking they the windows, he saw me and unlocked the door. Friendly man, told us our room was a newly refinished room, #9 when we walked it, it was basic, Barr bones, no frills room. It was freshly painted, had new flooring but hastily installed. All the light fixtures and door knobs were old and non working. Who puts a dusty coffee maker on a nightstand? The doorknob on the closet almost fell off. See pic. The bathroom had a motions sensor which went on and off any weird times. The water pressure was almost nil. My wife said it was almost impossible to wash out the soap in her hair. No pressure in the sink either, hard to brush your teeth. Seems like the owner is trying to cut corners at every angle. We paid for 2 nights, after the first night we said we should leave and get another room elsewhere, but we figured we wouldn't get our money back so we came back later that night to find room service came in and replaced the towels, but didn't make the bed. Our side of our room was a truck with the wheel and front end off. Guys working on it. The hotel only had 6-7 other cars at night, and the roof was missing tiles. The building needed painting and the pool was STILL under construction! Weird!! That was the last straw, we packed it up and went to the holiday inn across the street and had a better nights sleep! Lesson learned!

Brown bedbug on top of pillow

Zero stars if I could. I didn't even spend a night here since after a few hours of checking in I found a bedbug on my pillow after sitting up. Contained it in a plastic cup and showed it to front desk. Woman who was working front desk showed little concern or any reaction at all and only offered another room which I declined and let her know I was leaving because I'm not comfortable staying at a place that I now know has bedbugs. When I asked if she could help book another motel for the night (it was past 11pm at this point) she just said that there's motels outside on this street. I asked for a refund and she said they could not refund me because I booked through my credit card travel rewards program. However, my credit card was able to dispute it and they "reluctantly agreed to refund for the cancellation" according to the representative that helped me. BE WARNED IT IS THE CHEAPEST MOTEL IN THE AREA FOR A REASON! Do not stay here unless you want little hitchhikers to come home with you.

Monday June 24 2019 When I work outta town I try to get the absolute best place for my money. I'm not looking for resort style comfort or other amenities that I'd seek if I were on vacation, I'm simply looking for a comfortable bed, cleanliness, good water pressure and quality climate control. I pack a very lightweight custom sleeping bag, my own pillow & disinfectant spray for bathroom and remote. Yes sounds weird but something that works for me being outta town 2-3 out of the year for the last 20+ years. With all that said,,,,, ACTUAL REVIEW HERE After spending 30-45 minute physically checking all the motel/hotels in Bishop for prices and asking to see the rooms of each of them I found prices from $50-$190 per night. At least 2 others were more expensive and didn't seem as accommodating for me. At $320 for 5 nights Town House Motel was my choice. It's obvious that the new owners are slowly making improvements here such as bathroom tile, new mattresses, flat screen tv's, a sparkling clean pool and what currently appears that damaged wood is being replaced. From what I can see here at this time is a financially based pace of improvement that I myself can relate as a multiple home owner that seems to always making improvements around the houses. They also have microwave and small fridges in the rooms too. I believe I understood the desk man say the Ice machine recently broke, so that was a bummer, can't fill lunch box before work. I'd say it's probably located in a perfect spot for walking to everything imaginable too. I stayed in room 12 and everything worked great. Oh and a coffee pot too Friendly staff as well! If I was up here hiking for hours, off-roading, fishing and site seeing I'd prolly come here too for good rest ‍ other wise I'd be up the mountain camping. Roll Tide and Colorado River Rats OUT I gave this place a deserving 5 stars for honest hard work and effort. Not to mention to try to erase previous owners lack of. So with that said,,,,,,solid 3.5 stars in my opinion. This place IS NOT A DUMP.

Love this place! Two friends and I were hiking a 300-mile portion of the Pacific Crest Trail, so we were pretty tired and beat up. After dipping into a few other hotels to compare prices, the charm of the Townhouse Motel won us over immediately - so did the price. The host, Jim Brummel, was quick to offer us a $5-per-night discount because we were hikers, as well as a $10 discount for paying with cash. When the TV in our room didn't work, Mr. Brummel did his best to fix it, and gave us a free night at the motel to compensate. The hotel has free coffee in the morning, a great pool, clean and comfortable beds and a great historic story. Some famous celebrities like John Wayne and Slim Pickins' stayed at the hotel often, and their signed photos are up on the walls. You're right in the middle of downtown, close to a VONS grocery and lots of great restaurants. Great place!

I'm so glad we stayed here. We were two adults and one child and stayed in a private family room with one bed and a bunk bed. The bunk beds have little curtains which our kiddo liked. I didn't totally trust that the barrier on the top bunk was high enough to prevent my kiddo from falling off so I had her sleep in the bottom bunk. The room was small but we knew that and it was enough space for three of us. We loved how it was decorated down to the individually wrapped towels in the bathroom. No TV which I also liked and forced us to hang out together! We were on the second floor and there were comfy rocking chairs on the deck where we sat at night and enjoyed our wine. We were able to borrow the wine glasses in the community kitchen which was very convenient. We also spent time on the couches outside the kitchen and the Adirondack chairs in the yard - just a lot of open places to hang out which was nice. The airstream store is super cute. We didn't get a chance to try their coffee but did buy one of the treats and also some gifts from the gift shop and played yard games in front. Schatt's bakery is next door which was a nice bonus and we grabbed breakfast there in the morning and brought it back. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Walking distance to the bowling alley where we went for a couple hours to play and also get a delicious steak (yes from the bowling alley cafe - no joke!). We'd definitely stay here again when passing through Bishop.

Front desk attendant was friendly and welcoming, helpful with orientation and greeted everyone good morning walking in for breakfast. At check-in, we had the option to choose between an upstairs or downstairs room. Downstairs made it convenient for loading boards, right next to FREE parking spaces. Staff was accommodating to provide additional amenities, such as extra towels and lotion. House keeping only upon request the night before. Complimentary breakfast starting at 6:00 AM. The breakfast area was packed with snowboarders on the dot, added to the vibe. Hot omelette and sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. Great to fuel up for the mountain. Lady was quick to refill hot foods. There's also refreshing citrus water to quench your thirst in the lobby. That said, few things to be aware of. While the main room itself was clean, the shower area showed some wear, especially around the caulking where you could see mold. The showerhead also sits low - if you're over 6 feet tall, it's going to feel tight. The biggest downside is the thin walls & floors. You don't hear much street noise, but you absolutely hear people... every footstep, every toilet flush, rolling suitcases, and late-night arrivals. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Can hear people coming in around 11 PM pretty clearly. 3.5 stars: Great if you value convenience, affordability, and friendly staff. Place delivers the basics, but noticeable drawbacks of worn shower & thin walls keep it from being a solid 4 or 5 star stay.
