-They dominate the Florida market!-…read more We're the state with the most Wawa's at over 300 and I, for one, am delighted! This fine location is my closest for now, but they are building a new one in my teeny tiny town as I type this. Arriving- Directly on US Rout 27 North so easy peasy. As with most Wawa's it's very busy so slow down and be careful when you park. While you're there, take advantage of their two free air machines for your tires. They're famous for that! When you park, take notice that many close-in spaces are numbered. Ambience- Boatloads of gas pumps with good prices. Not always the best gas price but close and the great food makes up for it. Inside it is bright and cheery and clean. It's 99% take-out so don't plan on sitting inside. The App- I think it's great and I especially like Curbside Pickup! I like it so much that I rarely go inside anymore! Just park in a clearly numbered spot! Customer Service- I'm usually doing Curbside Pickup so it's just one delivery person. They are almost always on time and often a little ahead of the time specified in the app. I have never had an incorrect order. The delivery person is always friendly so five stars. Food- So, every kind of drink you can imagine, and an amazing choice of sandwiches along with pizza. Today I ordered a Classic Roast beef Sub with extra beef and an Iced Coffee which set me back at about $14. The choices available for your sub are more than in most places. I love that they have sweet peppers! It was cheerfully brought out to my car in about 12 minutes. It's delivered in a nice, reusable bag. As you can see from my pic this was a solid sub. The meat was plentiful and tender, and the toppings were very fresh. As usual, it was excellent! Conclusion- These guys are the top of the heap when it comes to convenience/gas chains. Five stars from me!

OK, so I wasn't actually there, and I am not the eyewitness to this story, but I am very thankful…read morefor how it all turned out. My mother was passing through the area on her quarterly trip from the Keys up to Ocala, and a couple of miles from Lake Placid when her car started, and I quote, "bucking and lurching and missing, had no power". She got it to the Raceway in Lake Placid, which is a station that she apparently goes to on this route pretty much every time because of the facilities. So there she was, stuck at a gas station in the middle of Florida, pretty much in the middle of her journey, with a frozen turkey and a cat to take care of. She brought the cat inside the Raceway station (in her cage, of course), where they were happy to help her out with water and a cool place. She called me first, and I offered to come down to get her (about three hours drive for me), but she opted to call up AAA and get a tow, which they were willing to perform all the way to Ocala. However, one of the staff at the Raceway apparently had a boyfriend who was a mechanic, and she called him up and got him out there. A couple of minutes under the hood, a discovery that a spark plug wire had come loose (explains the way the car was acting beautifully), a quick tweak to fix the problem, a plugin of his hand-held diagnostic computer to clear the fault and ensure no other issues, and she was on her way! AAA's tow truck was cancelled and a couple of hours later my mother was home and safe in Ocala. (She will have the car looked at again at her local mechanics's place, and most likely have the ignition harness replaced... they are more than a decade old with more than 100k miles under their belt, so it isn't surprising). As my mother said in her email to me afterwards, "Those three women (at Raceway) were terrific, and I will love RaceTrac forever."
