Allow me to educate you. Definition- A Street Taco is a very small soft taco made with a corn tortilla. I measured the tortilla here and it's 3 1/4 in diameter. That's small! The tortilla is very often doubled. More about that later. They are intended to be eaten with one hand. They only have three ingredients: your protein, minced onions and chopped cilantro. What the hell again? What happened to cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and twenty other things I get on my tacos? That's American style and not found on a traditional street taco. My little place has seven protein choices: Al Pastor, Asada, Barbacoa, Lengua, Suadero, Pollo and Tripa. I'm an Asada guy myself. Ordering- This place has an outside walk-up window. You mention your protein, # of tacos, and red or green sauce or both. Nobody orders just one. Typical orders for one person are 4-6. The post-pandemic cost is about $1.50 each. Consuming- Street Tacos are often called two-bite- tacos. If you are a dainty eater, maybe three. Chomp, chomp, and maybe chomp and it's gone. Here each chomp is accompanied by rolling eyes and moans of delight! However, if you want to be identified as a sophisticated Street Taco aficionado, you do this. When you get your order, you immediately separate one of those doubled tortillas, put one aside and then chomp away on your order. These are tacos so you know you're going to spill some right? I think there is a law that requires that! So, when your almost finished, you take all your spillage, put it in your saved tortilla, and now have another taco. Genius! I once sat near a table where a little girl watched me very carefully as I did this. She looked at the mess on her plate, figured it out and laughed and clapped with delight! Her parent's loved it! Note #1- There is a market inside the building where you can grab a beer or other drink to go with your tacos and also order other types of Mexican food. Note #2- There is a covered pavilion with some picnic tables and weather permitting, they are a great place to eat! 5 Stars!

Arriving- Facing Main Street with an adequate private lot so getting here and parking is a snap. Ambience- Not much but that's not why you're here. Like most of these joints it's a combo of a small store and a restaurant. A few tables and booths, an open kitchen, and a little Florida kitsch and that's it! The customers will be mostly Hispanic but a gringo like me will feel completely welcome. The Television will almost certainly be on a Hispanic channel. Note that this is one of the very few small Mexican joints that has table service! Adult Libations- Somewhere along the way they acquired a beer & wine license so be sure to grab a Corona or a Modelo to go with your meal. It will be served with an interesting bottle opener that you can see in my picture. Customer Service- Friendly and efficient and I've never had a problem. Food- A large, laminated menu with everything you would expect. Beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp, it's all there, Mexican style. I went with Carnitas served with rice and beans and a small side salad. It included my choice of flour or corn tortillas for $12.99. It was out very quickly. Delicious! The pork was moist, tender, and lightly seasoned with some sauce on the side. The rice and beans were hot and typical and tasty. The side salad was fresh, and my tortillas were nice and hot. A fine four-star Mexican meal that was very affordable. These fine folks are overshadowed by a hugely successful competitor a stones throw away. So, if you are sick of the giant Americanized Mexican places, give them a try, especially if you desire table service!

I live in this teeny tiny town and love to support family businesses, and I've stuck with them throughout the challenges. Let's see where they stand now- Arriving- About as easy as it gets! They are directly on US Route 27 North and if you are southbound there is a dedicated turning lane. You'll find a nice-sized parking lot with the usual handicapped spots. Ambience- It's basically one big room with tables and booths on the sides. The bar is on the back wall with a half wall partition separating it from the restaurant. It is meticulously maintained and spotless. There's Mexican kitsch of course but less than other places. See my pic. There is a beautiful lakeside, outside deck that appears to be used on weekend evenings. I've never used it, but I hear good things. Wi-Fi- Nope, not here which is unusual for a place this size. They get a small ding for that! Adult Libations- Full bar with extensive choices complete with the requisite long list of unique margaritas. I was delighted to see that their house margarita (Casa Margarita) is not made in bulk which is typical, but handmade with Patron and premium margarita mix @ $13. Mine was delicious! See my pic.
