My go-to baby Meatlovers, cooked to perfection!
    Steven B.

John, the owner of this fine establishment, crafts & bakes a Stromboli that will make your tastebuds sing with joy! If you like Boli, especially savory Meatlovers versions, this is the place for you! This is a one-topic review focusing solely on their Stromboli. For other aspects of the restaurant, please read my previous reviews. Pricing- There are almost 20 specialty pizzas on the menu here and of course you could build your own. So why am I talking about pies in a Boli review? Because Boli pricing is the same as the medium pizza price. So, I wanted a Meatlovers Boli, I found the Meatlovers pizza, and the medium was $15.49. Boom, that's the price of my Boli. Note- I'm addicted to black olives, so I always add them and that cost me about an extra buck or so. I ordered this bad boy to-go. Appearance- Check my pictures. This is what a well-made Boli should look like. Perfectly cooked crust and heavy with savory fillings. So many Stromboli's, when you cut into them are skimpy with the fillings, but not this bad boy! Just look at those fillings! Taste- Phenomenal! Just the perfect mix of meats, cheese, crust and of course the added zing of my black olives. Conclusion- Amazing taste, awesome value, and wonderful employees = 5 stars!

"Spicy Steak" sub. Where's the beef?

We've now been to Market 27 quite a few times and our experiences couldn't have started out any better. Their pizza is great, by far the best we've found in the area. But lately we've had some bad experiences with the food that will have us thinking twice about returning. The service is always great. We ordered a large pizza that was served to us with exactly one slice missing and they claimed they "dropped it" in the kitchen. Not sure how you can drop a pizza and have one slice disappear and the rest of the pizza still look perfect. It honestly looked like someone thought the pizza looked good and helped themselves to a slice. Hard to believe, but I can't think of any other way it could have happened. Their solution was to give us a free small pizza with the same toppings to take home. The other problems occurred when we ordered non-pizza items from the menu. I tried the pasta and meatballs and the meatballs and sauce tasted like they were frozen and right out of a can. Cafeteria quality at best, but not reflected in the price. The last problem was a "spicy steak" sub I got the other night. Probably had three ounces of beef, if that. It was mostly mushy, overcooked vegetables. Not what I would expect for $13.50. For dessert, we split a medium cup of Praline Pecan ice cream and it was so soft it was like flavored soft serve. We hoped and thought we could make this our go to restaurant when we felt like going out but I guess we'll keep looking

Fruit and vegetable preserves for sale

We also had Brunswick stew that my husband dreams about it is so good.Alana is a great guide to what is special . She brought us samples of soups so we could pick from the 8 fresh soups We went for breakfast today when it opened at 1000. I picked diced ham, green pepper, onion, mushrooms inside with cheddar cheese and sliced tomatoes on top....heaven!! Our smiling server kept our coffee filled. Love this retro place.!!

You can find this sweet ice cream store in Journal Plaza in the spot formerly occupied by Lake Placid Soda & Ice Cream Works. Cherry on Top is owned by local couple, Anthony and Rene Haney. Ice cream flavors included cotton candy, vanilla, creamsicle, birthday cake, white chocolate raspberry, and black raspberry fudge. They serve Yoders Southern Creamery ice cream made in Sarasota by the Amish. If you need non dairy, they offer two types of fruit sorbet. The young people working were so friendly and nice. I ordered a cup of my go to flavor, chocolate chip mint. It was chock full of chocolate just the way I like it. One scoop was only three dollars and change. They also offer freshly baked waffle cones , shakes, floats, and craft glass bottle sodas. He had over 100 acres and opened this quaint little store to showcase his fruit and the packing house behind it to process it. Today, Steve is getting on in years and has leased this quaint country store to some fine folks from Frostproof. This is one of the finest Italian/Pizza/Sub shops in the area and I've never talked about their awesome cheesesteak! This review rectifies this. It took me maybe two minutes and my sammich was out in about five more. No choice but five stars! Food- So they bake their own rolls here which is a big plus. The gold standard for cheesesteak is an Amoroso roll from the Philadelphia area. These are not that but very good. There was plenty of tender meat with no fatty pieces. Good stuff! Here they add peppers onions & mushrooms, and I have no problem with that, and they were tasty. They use White American cheese, and it was tasty and there was plenty of it. Now for something weird and wonderful. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to try adding pepperoni to my cheesesteak. I did and it was awesome! I've been doing it ever since and this time it costs me an extra buck. The basic sandwich is $11.99. I brought this bad boy home, and you can see my picture.
