New Sebring stopped by to get a couple of pizzas. Didn't really think about what they cost. However, today we called in for 212 inch pizzas with three toppings and the total bill was almost 50 bucks. I have a friend who owns a pizza store cost from 3 to 5 dollars to make that pizza. I guess profit can become a dirty word. The pizzas we did have from them. We asked to be crispy and they weren't. The pizza and wings were cold! When I get an Alfredo pizza I expect it to be creamy and taste the sauce.I didn't and the chicken tasted dry and old and unseasoned, everything was unseasoned. Food, particularly the wings were the best I've had in a long time, pulled pork and Mac and cheese were pretty good, I would order it again. Cole slaw was ok, admittedly I'm not the biggest fan of slaw but I ordered it anyway. Still not bad. Service was great, you order at the counter but everyone was very friendly. I'm a barbeque aficionado and you can't throw a stick in FL without hitting a Q joint and that's just fine with me. This location has been around about a year so off I went. This place has multiple personalities as it is both a pizza and a Q joint. Literally, one side of the menu is pizza and associated stuff and the other side is Q. I was there for bbq so that's what I perused. Atmosphere- It was previously a pizza joint and it shows. Red & white checked tablecloths and FL kitsch on the walls equals nothing special. It's a tiny place with seven tables sitting about 26 folks. Service- Everything was handled by one server with a big bright smile and welcome. She was genuine, competent, and cute so what's not to love! Drinks- This place is dry and serves Coke products. I had unsweetened tea which was just fine. I was quite surprised there was no beer. Bbq & Pizza scream for beer and beer licenses in this part of FL are a dime a dozen. This earns them one penalty point. BBQ- Somewhat standard brisket, pork, and chicken but no sausage. I was there for lunch, so I ordered the Brisket Sandwich for about $10. I was shocked that a side did not come with the sandwich without paying extra! This earned them another penalty point and needs to be fixed. The list of sides is fairly standard except there is no Coleslaw which is unusual in a bbq joint. There is a Roasted Corn Salad which intrigues me so I'll try that the next time I visit. I ordered the fresh-cut fries. OMG the Fries! - The same cut as Micky Ds but taste-wise a different world! They were completely addicting, and I moaned with every bite! The Sandwich- Not quite what I expected but very tasty and filling. Lots of tender meat and good flavor. I liked the sauce, but they earned another penalty point by not letting me pick my own sauce. Now I know why I didn't see an assortment of bottles on every table! Despite my penalty points I enjoyed my lunch and it cost me about $16. They get four stars and in order to get five from me they need to do three things. One, beer. Two, one side needs to be included with the sandwiches. Three, and most important, I need to be able to sauce my own Q! read more

Zack's isn't the paradise it claims to be--it's more like a culinary purgatory. Let's start with the ambiance, or lack thereof. Walking in, I was greeted by a faint smell of burnt oil and a vibe that screamed, "We gave up trying." The decor? A mismatched hodgepodge of neon beer signs and faded photos of meals they clearly don't serve anymore. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a place where dreams go to die. Now, the menu. It looked promising--wood-fired pizza, slow-cooked BBQ, and sides that should make your taste buds sing. But the reality? A cacophony of disappointment. I ordered the "Meat Lover's Dream" pizza and a half-rack of ribs. How could you mess up the basics? Zack's found a way. The pizza arrived looking like it had been aggressively introduced to a blowtorch. The crust was a burnt black ring of despair, the cheese was more rubbery than melty, and the toppings were sparse. A "meat lover's dream"? More like a meatless nightmare. The ribs weren't any better. They were tough, dry, and suspiciously flavorless, as if someone forgot to season them before throwing them into what I can only assume was an incinerator. The BBQ sauce--a gloopy, cloyingly sweet concoction--was slathered on with the subtlety of a five-year-old using glue. Even the sides were tragic. The coleslaw was drowned in mayo, making it more soup than salad. The fries? Limp, cold, and depressingly soggy. Let's not forget the service. My server, while polite, seemed utterly defeated. They brought the wrong order to my table twice and looked like they wanted to apologize for more than just the mix-up--probably the food itself. To top it all off, the price was absurd for what I got. I left Zack's feeling like I had paid premium rates for a fast-pass ticket to indigestion. Zack's Pizza & BBQ might be a good idea on paper, but in practice, it's an overcooked mess. The service was warm and inviting- which makes the food taste even better! I saw them pulling out huge 24" pizzas from the oven and will try one of those next time. Can't really get enough of Zack's Calzones! Full of fresh veggies, real ricotta & mozzarella, and baked to perfection in a truly delectable crust, I can't imagine a better meal. They have other stuff, but I don't think I'll ever try it. I don't think I can live without my calzone. They do DoorDash and have a small, but fairly uncomfortable dining area. Dave Portnoy, you need to come try this. Went in for the first time today, and the employees were very nice and accommodating. I ordered a couple of slices of pepperoni and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich as I'm always looking for a good philly. I have to say neither the pizza slice nor the philly disappointed. The pizza had a little bit of a flop to it but once you bite into and hear that crunch on top of the flavor it had and it is hands down best in Highlands County. The Philly, while not the best I have ever had, is also easily the second best and best in Florida I have had so far. Will be recommending this place to anyone looking for a good spot. Pizza was very good, nice New York style that was complimented very well with their fall off the bone ribs. Not the overcooked fall off the bone but the nice tender and juicy fall off the bone that you'd find at a top tier bbq joint. I did not personally have the brisket but the people I were with said it was delicious. My group also ordered a to go order the next night for 24 people, and we got it all, pizza, wings, bbq, sides, and condiments. We were told it would be 30 minutes. We showed up roughly 15 minutes early and they were just finishing it up. Service was absolutely phenomenal exactly what you'd expect from a mom and pop shop. I don't understand the rating. We ordered pizza, the edge crust was 3/4" thick and tasteless. The basic crust was 1/8" thick at best and it was raw. Sauce was fine but I don't need all my fingers to count the pepperoni slices. Sausage and peppers absolute minimum. 1 at best. Will not be back. read more

The barbecue chicken topping is heaven sent! The pizza crust was on the tough side and the top of the crust was soggy from too much moisture in the toppings.
